It's been three years since I last came here. However, they open lunch from 11:30-1:30 pm...used to be 2:00 pm. I think we over stayed a bit, but they didn't cook my steak well done. So, it had to be return. There several things that delayed our eating. The waiter was too busy with huge...huge takeouts. He forgot our olive oil and balsamic vinegar to go with bread. We had ordered Filet mignon with shrimp scampi and what a disappointment! ($42)! They somehow had cooked it for the many takeouts. We like how it's pan cooked with butter. I had to go with sirloin steak/Shrimp scampi and my brother ordered chicken with shrimp. Don't get me wrong? Their culinary skills are fantastic! I love caramelized onions and mushrooms over my sirloin steak. The steak has to be eaten hot...or starts becoming a little tough when it gets cold, that's why filet mignon. There was only three tables dining in....the rest of restaurant was empty. No figure? The bus boy helped save us from waiter's mishaps. It's funny, bus boy was profusely apologizing. Then, he said I remember you and your family. That statement saved their tip. My family always came during Christmas for a family reunion. But last thing, I made reservations for my brothers birthday. The waiter is an air head and took my brothers credit card. I was fuming! I got up and followed him away from the table. And demanded him to take my cash! He ignored me until I became vocal, "Why would you make birthday boy pay for his own meal?!" What a bone head?! The bus boy apologized and didn't understand why the waiter did what he did. The manager had to approve the reversal of the credit card. Once we packed up, we talked for 5 minutes outside before leaving. They did give my brother as Sherbet with a candle on it. I still left a good tip. Alfredo fettuccini was just pasta with brocolli and nothing else. It was almost the same price at Scallops Alla Scampi. I usually get the calamari legs that comes with the white sauce but they sold out so I just opted on the regular one and it did not taste as good as the legs plus the sauce was tasteless, should have just used my Newman Owns marinara sauce. We have been going to Assagio's in Kapolei for 12 years for many family birthday diners as well as just a meal out for my husband and me. As a family, we usually go to Kapolei. My husband and I also go for a Sunday lunch in Mililani as it's right across the road from our church. The service is always excellent. We are originally from Long Island , NY which has a large Italian population and many very good Italian restaurants. We were very glad to find Assagio's on Oahu. They have an extensive menu and delicious Italian bread on the table . My husband loves the chicken and eggplant parmigiana . I really like the shrimp and scallops and snow peas in a white wine butter sauce, lemon chicken and NY steak all with pasta. Very good desserts too, although I'm usually too filled to order. Free dessert on your birthday. I've seen a number of people who thought it was pricey. Any restaurant of this quality on Oahu is somewhat pricey but I feel Assagio's is worth it. Also , my husband's health and mobility has gone down in the last few years. The employees in Kapolei go out of their way to help him in and get seated. They are very kind and helpful. read more

Assaggio has always been a go to local Italian restaurant no matter what part of the island I lived on. This Kapolei location is one of the best service I have received for takeout. A nice greeting from the hosts when I walked in and they directed me to the bar. There I was promptly greeted and my order was ready to go. Wonderful chit chat while I got checked out. My boyfriend got the Sausage & Peppers with Potato and I got the Chicken and Shrimp Pesto Linguine. Both house specialty dishes were delicious and the portions were well worth the price. I can't believe it took me so long to visit this place! I had dinner with my husband and 3 children. The staff was friendly, helpful, and very accommodating. The appetizers were delicious, and we loved that they have the option of small and large plates. The large plates allowed us to feed the kids from our entrees, AND have leftovers. The prices were more than reasonable, and the food was very good. I was not thrilled about my entree, but my waitress helped me resolve the issue. I felt the sauce was bland, so they were quick to offer a different sauce (very quickly, and fresh). The bread was fresh and plentiful, and the restaurant itself was very cute. Okay so let me start by saying I've always LOVED Assaggio! Looooved it. My husband and I have habitually walked in and/or called ahead, and always have had a wonderful time. A few days ago, our experience was so awful- I'm actually coming to Yelp my first review.... (Ever?) So we got seated quickly for what was an impromptu dinner idea. I mean, our youngest was tagging along with us (4years old) so we didn't perfectly plan out our date night but hey, our babies are part of what makes us incredibly happy so why not introduce one of em to mommy's favorite calamari place? And that's what I ordered... my usual calamari scampi dish and my husband went for his regular veal order. Our baby wasn't impressed with either plates but I personally enjoyed mine, although my husband wasn't impressed with his dinner. What threw me off and I mean OFF, was when my little one said, "Mommy, look behind you!" Sorta panicked and sorta entertained. So I turned to find a pretty healthy looking cockroach crawling down the wall behind my head. I did my best not to scream cause I am a stereotypical chick when it comes to roaches... I managed to jump up somewhat discreetly and hiss at my husband to DO something. Had dinner with my husband good friends. Haven't been in this place in along time. Well 1st of all they do have basically all what's on their menu expect the fried calamari for the appetizers. The food I had was okay but maybe because I,had salami cheese and anchovies for the appetizers so my dinner was a bit salty. I had the veal saltimboca. The other places is very good. And not salty. I should of have ordered the small portion but i figured don't have to cook so order the big portion. The server was polite and came back with water, bread and didn't push us too leave. If you order take out, make sure to request sauces are kept separate. We didn't have much sauce but the time we got home and thought they had forgotten it. "G" more than made us whole by giving us an entire new order the next day with sauce on the side. I was just expecting a container of sauce for the half of the meal we didn't eat the night before. Pretty disappointing. We decided to try Assaggio's for the first time. I get that things are expensive now, but $83 for garlic bread, one app and two plates of pasta seems a little extreme. The portions were adequate, and the clam sauce had plenty of clams, but the missing ingredient from everything we ate was actual flavor! Yes, there was garlic. Yes, there was salt. But how do you make Italian food bland? I don't get it. On the plus side, they got our order right. And the actual Italian bread included with the meals was fresh and tasty. However, that was really it. We'll make the drive to Aiea next time and enjoy the tasty Italian food at Ricado's when we have a hankering for Italian. read more

I wanted to take my friend out for lunch for her birthday so we decided on Assagio. I have never tried any Assagio locations prior to this so it would be my first time. I know a lot of my coworkers love this place so I was excited to try it. It was getting too late to dine-in since we only had our work lunch hour to go. I've been told that they take really long serving and bringing the food out if you dine-in, so my coworker recommended that I place a take-out order instead. We phoned in and ordered a small Fresh Clam Casino Linguine, small Chicken Anchovy Olio with Angel Hair, Mozzarella in Carrozza, and Calamari in Carrozza. I initially wanted fried crab cakes but they said they were out. They said it would be ready in 15 minutes. When you get there, you walk towards the bar for phone orders. From what I could tell from being inside, they do enforce social-distancing with the tables. When I paid, I was shocked at the total because when we were looking at their menu on their website, it didn't show the prices of anything. I was told it was expensive, but I didn't think for smaller portions it would be about that expensive. The total was $77 + tax. Of course it was the price of the pasta that made it very expensive. I believe the clam pasta was $23 and the chicken anchovy olio was $26 since it is a $3 upcharge for pasta other than linguine. When we brought it back to work it was still warm and everything was tasty. The small portion was huge! It was enough for dinner and another lunch! (Plus the appetizers of course!) They also gave us two breads with butter and parmesan cheese. I am in love with the Fresh Clam Casino, it looked like there wasn't enough sauce on it, but it was so delicious and there was certainly a lot of sauce to cover the pasta. I would order it again and again because I love the wine butter sauce and I love clams! The mozzarella sticks were also good, but you can never go wrong with mozzarella sticks! I really liked the calamari because it was thicker pieces. I didn't care for the marinara sauce because it was a little too thin for my liking. My friend enjoyed the Chicken Anchovy Olio and she said the chicken was not dry at all. She also loved the garlic topping. If you're looking to pick up really good Italian pasta in Kapolei then this really is your best bet! I highly recommend doing take-out as it was super quick and the food was still hot enough to eat right away. Due to the price, I would probably only order again on special occasions! read more

We dined here tonight with party of 15. Since we had a large party we arrived at 4:45 pm. Restaurant opened at 5:00 pm. The servers were polite and accommodating. I ordered the filet mignon with half order shrimp scampi and half order grilled potatoes. The pasta tasted better with Parmesan cheese. My filet mignon was cooked perfectly. The potatoes were especially tasty. The filets were topped with very tasty mushrooms and onions. My bf enjoyed his chicken parmigiana and ravioli. He said the chicken parmigiana was juicy and very flavorful. Everyone else enjoyed themselves as well. Our past three experiences at Mililani Assagio's were horrible. Took my father-in-law here after he moved in with my wife and me from New York. He loves his Italian food and was not let down on this day. We started the meal out with their version of fried cheese sticks and calamari. Both were fried to perfection, I'm not big on seafood but the calamari was good enough for me to go in for seconds. After the appetizers I got the meatballs (small) I have no idea how much food was in the full version but the smell was enough to put me in a food coma. I was super lucky that my date was able to get a reservation on Valentine's Day here, even though he booked it at the last minute, we were able to get a reservation! I personally love Assagio's for their great service and food. The waiters are constantly checking in on you and filling up your bread and water. The bread is so gooood. I can honestly eat a loaf by myself. I also like how the butter is room temperature making it easy enough to spread on the bread. We also didn't have to wait long on our food. Coming here for the first time with the family , we went right in and got seated right away. Our server and host was really nice . We got nice Complimentary bread that we all now love to eat. It was super warm, and fluffy on the inside . My kids loved it. I got mozzarella sticks and my daughter got jumbo shrimp cocktail . My husband got chicken Cesar salad. Then I ordered the chicken Sicilian with potatoes and peppers and my husband got New York steak and my daughter got lasagna with garlic bread . My son got their chocolate mousse cake .
