It was still a little sweet for my taste, but the flavor was really good and different from the usual fruit teas. I think it would be even better with a bit less sugar. I also got the Double Mango Comet Camellia, Caramel Brûlée Orbit Milk and really enjoyed it. The sweetness level was just right, and the mango flavor was fresh and fragrant. The shop itself is beautiful, clean, and spacious. My favorite part was actually the presentation. The cups and packaging look high quality and well thought out. Being a fan of the Astra Bean over at Bolsa/Brookhurst, I was stoked to find "Astra Bean 2" over by Goldenwest College. It's located in a spot that was previously occupied by R&B Tea - a boba cafe. It's an otherwise light-traffic shopping plaza - so compared to the nightmare parking situation over at Astra Bean on Bolsa - you'll have no issues finding parking here. First - there's no King Durian Avocado drink here! That's actually the only drink I've ever gotten at an Astra Bean - so was bummed to not even see it on the menu here. The menu does offer 15 drinks - and the friendly clerks working today when I stopped by helped suggest some drinks based on my likes. I opted for the Matcha Jasmine Oolong - and a Peach HIbiscus. Apparently, they have a BOGO promo from April 1st - April 15th, 2026, where you get a lesser-cost drink free with purchase of a regular priced one. The clerks were able to accommodate my request for less sweet. Both drinks turned out great. I ended up working on my computer here while I worked my way through both drinks. The Matcha Jasmine Oolong had great matcha flavor - the jasmine was non-existent, but I appreciated the caffeine kick of the cold brew base. The Peach Hibiscus was refreshing - albeit more sweeter than I'd like. Plenty of seating - six large tables - great for group studying, especially considering the proximity to Goldenwest College across the street. I didn't test wifi since I needed a secure connection for accessing work apps, so relied on my hotspot. Outlets are far and in between - almost non existent. The outlets I could see were blocked by the bench - but luckily, I always carry around a portable power bank. Cute decor, plenty of parking, friendly staff. I'd definitely be back if I was in the area again. Hope they bring King Durian drink from their Bolsa location over here. read more

So, I got the strawberry cheese and it was delicious. BUT! The other drink we got was a mango matcha... it had Cheetos on top. Maybe we should've asked but we were already weirded out because when we were taking our drinks the employee offered us a gift. i was nearby and wanted a fruity drink, so i stopped by here and ordered the acerola dragon fruit with jasmine oolong chewy, which was basically a tea jelly. i would say that my drink tasted more like orange (?) than dragon fruit and was on the sweeter side, but it was still pretty refreshing for a rather warm day! on the day that i went, there was a bogo promo deal, and i had been informed by my friends that they actually have bogo deals pretty often! i also like how this place has a good amount of tables to study at or chill with your friends. overall, i didn't think my drink was anything special, but i would be willing to try it again if i was in the area and there was a bogo promo deal! read more

I stopped by the newest location of Astra Bean during their soft opening yesterday and had a great experience here. They are currently running a BOGO deal so you can get 1 free drink with your order! The inside is well designed with the space them and I like the giant asteroid on the side of the wall which is cool for pictures. I got the matcha latte and the smoked vanilla coffee. Both drinks were ready fairly quickly. It's also a good spot to hang out and relax at and clean. I got my drinks with oat milk since they only offer oat milk or lactose free organic milk. The matcha latte was alright. Their matcha quality isn't the best that I've had compared to other shops. The smoked vanilla coffee was my favorite of the two and had a good balance between the coffee and vanilla flavors. One thing I wanted to mention is that they don't seem to fill the drinks all the way to the top and keep it slightly below the top of the lid and that is the case at the other locations as well. read more

I've been wanting to try this location since they open. I love that they are right by me and plenty of easy parking. I went during their BOGO deal and I was more than grateful they still crafted their drinks just as good as any other day. The drinks came out quick and done perfectly. I got their caramel burlee iced milk less sweet with almond milk. It was delicious and came with boba. The burlee on top was really good and came with organic milk. It was creamy and had the perfect amount of sweetness. I recommend it if you like creme burlee. The person I came with got their egg coffee which was even better than mind. I had a sip and yum! The egg topping was done just right and the vietnamese coffee was delicious. And super strong but I like that. They have about 15 drinks on their menu to choose from. My friends and I stopped by during their first few weeks of opening, where they had the BOGO promo. I really love their Matcha Jasmine Oolong latte. I really think this is the best Matcha drink if you love matcha, or jasmine milk tea, or matcha and jasmine, or anything with matcha and/or jasmine tea. It is just so good! I tried my friend's avocado durian and it was too sweet for me, and the durian was pretty strong. Another thing I really like at Astra is their banana coffee. They use real banana for their cream top, so it's not those banana custard cream that is made with powder, and have that distinct banana pudding flavor. Their banana cream is with real banana so it's actually a bit white and it tastes so fresh. It's really good iced. Highly recommend! read more

Today, we decided to check out their second location and was highly disappointed (plus a bit shocked) that all the drinks are marked up $1 more here! According to the staff, the rent cost more at this location and they are passing that cost to their customers. That's not cool. $8.50 for a drink with boba was a bit of a stretch. The boba was overcooked in our matcha jasmine oolong. I'd recommend going to the original location which is still pretty close by. Only benefit here is the parking situation. read more

This is my first time trying Astra Bean and it was really good! I came on a friday evening and there was no one in the store. The employees were quick and nice, they asked if I had any questions and offered to give recommendations. I find the two drinks I got was refreshing and enjoyable. My matcha oolong wasnt too sweet at the regular sweetness and the added jasmine oolong chewy was delightful. The texture of the chewy was good and it didn't overpower the taste. The matcha on top is light, so if you're looking for something with more matcha I wouldn't recommend that one, otherwise I loved it! My brother got the Strawberry Cheese. I had a taste and it was good as well! The strawberry cream cheese are delicious along with the topping. If you're interested and a fan of cheesecake, it would be a good thing to try! If the location was closer, I can see myself going more often. I love the space decor as well. As for a studying spot, it is quiet and the music isn't too loud. On a friday night around 6:30pm during midterms there aren't many people. Theres 6 tables with chairs and lined seats. As for outlets, there are few. Went here this afternoon with a friend. We ordered a black milk tea with boba and a coconut avocado drink. We didn't adjust the sugar level, so it should have been the regular 100% sweetness. However, my drink was labeled 60%, and it still tasted extremely sweet--honestly felt even sweeter than 100%. I could barely finish it. The coconut avocado drink was nothing special either. The coconut flavor was really strong and slightly salty, and it overpowered the avocado. It honestly felt more like coconut avocado than avocado coconut. Service was also disappointing. The cashier seemed annoyed for no reason while taking our order. Maybe it's because we only ordered two drinks and there was a promotion, but that shouldn't affect how customers are treated. We weren't expecting anything extra just basic friendliness. What made it worse was that we were waiting while other customers who came after us got their drinks first. We only received ours after most of the customers had already left, which was frustrating. Not a great experience and probably won't be coming back. read more
