Decided to give this place a try after frequenting the same boba shops and I'm so glad we did! I have consistently been coming back for 1 specific drink that I think they do an excellent job making: -Jasmine Oolong Milk Tea w/Jasmine Tea Jelly: This drink is offered as this classic milk tea, as well as a version that includes a matcha foam if you want a slightly thicker/more indulgent drink. I was honestly blown away because I didn't expect the drink to be so fragrant. Many popular boba shops I've visited have had subpar milk teas with flavors that lean far too milky, but that was not the case at Astra. They have been consistently strong every time I've ordered this drink! It has a beautiful floral profile with the Oolong adding some extra strength. I actually think their 100% sweet is more mild than other shops but they do offer the ability to adjust sweetness (and ice level) if you'd like. The tea jelly adds some fun texture to the drink. I love the promotions they have had as well. I came during the initial "Buy any drink, get a coffee free," and was able to try a sip of my boyfriend's egg coffee. It was strong and leaned bitter so that may be a good or bad thing depending on your preference. I also came during their "Buy three drinks, get a free cyber cup" promo which is a really cute ceramic cup that can be placed in a tilted position. It comes in several colors so it's almost like unwrapping a functional blind box lol. Portion size: I love that their teas come in a taller cup and their coffees are a good standard size. It didn't feel like they skimped out on portions with my orders, and their prices were very fair compared to other shops. Their theme and packaging were also very cute. I like their space theme throughout the walls, ceiling, cups, and merch. Their bags are also high quality and resemble Aritzia branding haha. Random side note but their bathroom is also very clean and cool looking with all the marble and fancy bidet toilet. Wait times: This has fluctuated depending on the day. In the beginning, we waited maybe 5 minutes from ordering to receiving two drinks. On weekends in the afternoon, the wait has been as bad as 25 minutes but generally have been around 10-15 for the most part so it's definitely not the worst. This has been the case no matter what time in the day we visited. Parking and the shop: The parking is shared amongst many other businesses in a strip mall of Westminster so at times it can be tricky to find a spot but I have honestly never taken longer than a minute to park and it has always been on the same side as Astra (near the com tam spot). The shop I would say is small to medium sized. There are a few tables with chairs and a few seats for waiting by the tablets. You can place your order with the employee or at one of two tablets in the front. I would not recommend this spot for studying as it's kind of dimly lit and the chairs are low so it's not conducive for studying. No more egg durian coffee! My first time here and this is what they told me 1. Jasmine oolong MT + jasmine oolong jelly Very floral, but not my type of flavor. This jasmine flavor reminds me of bathroom soap jasmine, no offense lol.. I usually like jasmine MT from chinese or taiwanese tea shops. But the jelly was really good and addicting! 2. Was in the area for jury duty so during our lunch, I finally stopped by Astra Bean. It's in a busy shopping center with very little parking--I had to wrap around quite a few times. When I went inside, the theming was cute. Very committed to the bit, along with the drink packaging. I went to order and was helped by the kindest worker (I want to say her name was Ellie??) who helped me with some recommendations. I got the Matcha Jasmine drink. I asked for a different milk but was informed they weren't able to do that, so I took one for the team (well, my lactose intolerance, rather) and did it how it came. It was pretty okay! Great experience. I called the shop to ask what drinks they can do with no sugar and there were a couple on the menu. I ended up choosing the osmanthus oolong milk tea and it was so flavorful. Usually the flavors can be very light but they do it so well here. My favorite version of this drink anywhere. I also came when they had their buy one get one promotion and I ordered the durian egg coffee The barista made it less sweet for me and it is absolutely delicious! This store is very cute. There are kiosks so you don't have to wait in line to get order. The packaging looks professional like Molly or Chagee where the bags are very cute. Although I don't know why they make the staff write order on the cup by hands, just get a printer to print out orders on sticker and tape to the cup. The staff in front takes order and write orders on cup, it took a long time. I think the service chain is not well-organized. After writing down the order on the cup, staff brings cup back door to get the drinks made. Also, I ordered a tea with no ice but my drink came with full ice. Also it's so hard that there is so much competition in OC for good coffee spots, that Astra Bean wouldn't be at the top of my list. Ambiance: First thing when you walk in, it reminds you that your on the moon. Very nice and very modern feel to it. I was able to see there merch and really liked on of there cups! Might get me one later haha! Drinks were really good and unique! Never seen a Durian Egg Coffee done in person before, only seen them in packets. The smoked vanilla one tasted like if you were drinking a milk tea with coffee. Both very good options! Price is a little bit high for the size of the cup though. What a cute, new spot for boba drinks and coffee! A friend suggested we go here for a late night boba run (okay, he gave me one of two choices, and I picked Astra Bean because I had never heard of them before). Turns out, Astra Bean opened less than a month ago! What a incredibly nifty decor and store design! It's space-themed, I guess the Astra is sorta for "Astranaut?)" - and they really went all out with the decorations, and stuff. Even the paper cups have a space-themed design to it. Service was prompt - there was a slight line in front of us when we entered, but they were helped pretty quickly. The friendly gal that helped us cheerfully mentioned their most popular drinks when we shared it was our first time here. My friend opted for the Matcha Jasmine Oolong Latte, while I picked up their King Durian Avocado smoothie. Friend loved his drink - he rated it a 8/10 - which is pretty solid, considering he's also the type that is fine waiting in Omomo's hour long line. I'm a fan of avocado smoothies - and was split between the Avocado Coconut and King Durian Avocado - went with the durian drink since I admit I've never had a Durian drink before. My smoothie was epic! It was ** almost perfect **. The avocado smoothie was buttery smooth for the most part, but the durian was definitely the standout star. It's an acquired taste - so not everyone will like it - but if you like durian, you'll love this drink. It's strong, as durian is - but not overbearing. You can still taste the avocado. I knocked off a star because there was whole ice cubes in my drink. I get that it's a cold drink, but usually, in avocado smoothies, the cafe blends the ice with the drink. It was odd to find whole ice cubes at the bottom of my cup by the time I was almost done with the drink. One thing to note is the limited seating. There's a bar-style seating to the side, but it's all chairs, no table. There's limited seating as well to the left side as you enter - as well as seating outside. The plus, is that you don't have anyone hooking up their laptop and monopolizing a spot for hours - this is more of a socialize / grab-and-go atmosphere, rather than study cafe (although if you want to study in this plaza, La Ka Viet a few doors down has a lot of seating). Will I be back? Most definitely. There's a ton of boba shops and popups in the area, but they mostly sell similar drinks. So when a shop has a unique drink such as the Durian Avocado smoothie - and a cute space-y theme if that's your thing - it's one-of-a-kind, and I'm hoping to check out their other offerings. This is one cool and unique coffee place that I've ever been. Ambiance is fun, full of vibe with galactic interior. Staff were nice, friendly, and helpful. Came to try this new spot on a Sunday afternoon and didn't have to wait too long for our drinks. We noticed waves of customers coming in, so I think we hit the sweet spot and didn't have to wait at all. They have a bogo coffee with any drink order currently until 9/3/25. We ordered an egg coffee, matcha jasmine oolong tea with peach chewy boba, and a king durian avocado. Everything was tasty and flavorful. They use real durian and avocado for their drinks and they were reasonably priced! Coffee was strong and the egg foam was rich and creamy. Matcha jasmine oolong was well balanced. Peach chewy boba had texture of agar boba and not a lot of peach flavor though, so you can save the extra money on that lol Only downside is that you can't adjust sweetness or ice levels for all drinks. I wouldn't say that great to become new obsession. Osmanthus Oolong tea has more oat milk flavor, but weak tea. Not too sweet, that's a plus. Smoked vanilla coffee does have a smoky flavor. Can't taste the vanilla flavor. Also weak coffee. Even with added black coffee, the taste of coffee is still taste like water down coffee. Friendly staffs. Really awesome space theme that I haven't seen at other coffee shops. I love how it feels like you're stepping into a different world. As for the drink, I ordered the acerola dragon fruit with peach boba which was refreshing although didn't really taste the distinct dragonfruit and acerola flavor. The peach boba was delicious, it definitely tastes peachy and has the consistency of crystal boba. Service was great, you can tell they care about their customers. *3.5 stars Stopped by Astra Coffee on Saturday (7/5 at 1 PM) during their BOGO Grand Opening promo (7/4-7/6). My friend and I had heard about the new space-themed shop and figured we'd go only if the line wasn't too crazy. Surprisingly (it was Saturday!!), we found parking right away in the usually hectic Bolsa Ave plaza and only had three people ahead of us in line. Small space overall--more of a grab-and-go setup. There are low, circular tables and wall seating, but most of it was occupied by people waiting for their drinks. There's a bathroom available inside for customers. The branding is strong. It reminded me of Mothership in SD. Space lingo everywhere ("Born on Mars, now on Earth," "Select your fuel"), Lunar Crater wallpaper, an astronaut rock climbing, and sleek Astra-branded merchandise. Their carrier bags and unique coffee holders look like they're from a high-fashion brand. And I can't forget the bright orange Lambo parked outside with the Astra logo. And the 2 Cybertrucks decked with Astra drinks perched on the trunk lol. So flashy, campy, and a little tacky. But so fun! That said, I was surprised they didn't lean into more creative drink names to match the theme, something like "Eggclipse" for their egg coffee, "Black Hole" or "Dark Matter" for their plain phin drips or "Meteoric Matcha." Feels like a missed opportunity. But I commend their dedication to the astral theme, especially on a street packed with competitive coffee spots all doing similar things. We went with mostly drinks from the Commander Crew Picks: Egg Coffee ($6), Durian Egg Coffee ($6), Matcha ($6.5), and the Oreo Matcha Brûlée ($6.50). Matcha was not a Commander Crew Pick. The Egg Coffee was smooth, rich, and delicious. I can see why it's a favorite. The Durian Egg Coffee had a bold aroma, but an underwhelming flavor. As someone who enjoys durian, I found the smell overpowered the taste and made my stomach curl. The Matcha was good, but sweet. I wouldn't get it with the salted foam top again, but that's personal preference since I usually avoid cream foams. Oreo Matcha Brûlée was our least favorite. My friend wanted to try this one, so this was our Drink #4 for the BOGO. More brûlée than matcha, and very sweet and creamy, borderline milkshake. Didn't notice much Oreos. Reminded me of Omomo's version, which is superior (more Oreo and texture). But also don't quote me on that because I don't actually like drinks like these. I saw Astra Bean on tik tok and it is so kind of them to provide a free drink for their grand opening to the community until July 6th. The cashier was super friendly and informative! The interior is spaced theme and it's super cute and clean! I am trying the dragon fruit tea per the cashiers recommendation. It was refreshing and flavorful! Stopped by here today with my mom after lunch on a Sunday past noon. This coffee shop location used to be Spa by Mode back in the days, where I went to get my facials and did my sprayed-tattoo eyebrows!! I saw few Yelpers reviewed of this place and I was curious and today after lunch, I saw that Astra is around the corner from where we ate lunch so I decided to stop by. I got an iced matcha latte and their Matcha Jasmin Oolong Latte, which is matcha foam on top. Wow, their matcha was really good! The Matcha Jasmine Oolong has such yummy floral note to it. It comes in a blind up (as I call it), very well made paper cup with very well made plastic lid. I feel like, if you can't tell what you're drinking, your imagination goes into space. For me, if I didnt know what I ordered, drinking this Matcha Jasmine Oolong, I would've thought it was the lavender milk tea from Morning Lavender, or, just a very floral jasmine milk tea, with some hint of red bean. Like another yelper mentioned, it's kind of everything but also matcha, it's strange, but, I can taste everything in it, it's so good! It also reminds me a bit of Airoma matcha, which, I think they put jasmine in their drink too because it has this similar taste from Astra and at least Astra said it has Jasmine and Oolong. This is my favorite! The matcha latte here is pretty strong. This one comes in a clear cup so I can see what I'm drinking. This also has a hint of red bean in it, or mung bean, I'm not sure, but that texture and rich taste. The tea itself in this matcha is also very strong, I think there is also green tea in here, it's so good and I added the matcha cloud on top also. I am not drinking coffee these days so matcha drinks are all I can write about, or praise about. I would def come here to get their Matcha Jasmine Oolong, so delicious and fragrant! They do have the BOGO as mentioned or as warned by Yelp.. although, how to get the BOGO is complicated and I did not get it. Seems like you need a real person to take your order if this is to happen. I came during a pretty peak hour on Sunday and there was NOBODY at the front. Seems like only one person was working the whole store so you need to order through the kiosk, which has no option for BOGO anyway. I think if anything I would say, they need more people working at the store. The store itself is beautifully built. You can tell everything is high quality, even to their cups and lids. I really enjoy the space themed decor. If the space is bigger, it'd be better in my opinion. They have some merchandise on display and for sale. The Good: The boba is a nice consistency. It's a little on the chew-ier side but don't freeze up even with the ice, which is nice. Service was quick and the place had a really cool theme, but the drinks were honestly just pretty average. The Bad: Milk Tea here is insanely sweet (I don't like sweet); I got it at 30% sweetness and it tasted the equivalent of 100% sweetness at other drink shops. Matcha latte was at 60% sweetness and it tasted fine, just regular. I could get it anywhere else, you know? Their menu isn't exactly diverse either which sucks because theres so much competition around--like the Da Vien is just a couple minutes away. There's potential here, honestly. Do I regret buying? No. Is there anything that makes me want to come back? Not really. They do hand out vouchers per drink with a randomized discount if you're into that though. If you like space themed or anything to do with the moon you will enjoy the vibe here. It's a tiny Tea/Coffee shop in a strip mall that has a variety of drinks. I tried their Original Milk Tea with boba and their Peach Hibiscus Tea which comes with hibiscus jelly. I enjoyed the milk tea as it had a nice after flavor of the tea, and the Peach Hibiscus was refreshing and the jelly was a nice touch to it. I personally didn't like the cups that they were served in cause you can't see the drink from the outside but I get it they are being environmentally conscious and I think that's great as we need that. read more

Space themed coffee and tea spot. My favorite go to drink there is the durian egg coffee. The Vietnamese coffee is strong, tampered down by sweetness and creaminess, but packs a strong punch still. There is no option to adjust the sweetness on the coffee. I liked the black and barley too, but when I went there was no option to adjust sweetness. Was not a fan of the oolong jasmine though, the two tea flavors neutralized each other getting no notes of either tea. I've also really appreciated their BOGO online specials to allow for trying drinks on their menu. Ordering in store in the kiosk is easy and the staff are polite and nice. They used to have a really long lead time on online ordering, but it's improved now! They are open relatively early at 8 am as well for you early birds. An area for improvement: Numerous out of stock issues in the early hours - for instance, no egg cream or banana coffee if too early. Also they have had some stock outs with the jellies/toppings. read more

Cute spot to hang out and chat, the vibes and aesthetic is so clean and theme oriented! Self order kiosk or cashier available to you - so convenient. Workers were friendly in greeting and drinks were amazing! We got the Matcha Jasmine Oolong Tea + Osmanthus Oolong Milk Tea and they're delish!! Really hits like fresh tea, which I love! read more

Matcha is not that bad, however, the boba is old and stuck together. The boba tasted like the instant boba purchased at supermarkets. read more
