Just found out Jamal is no longer here....
    Nanette M.

For an entire year I've been chasing Jamal around to fix the billing on my account from when Shay sold a bogo deal to us for Mother's Day in 2019!!!! Check my previous review for the story....this is an update. I am still a dissatisfied customer regretting letting Shay mess with my account. I should have went to another carrier like I intended. Shay lied and said we weren't going into a contract, well, if you are stuck in something for 2 years then yes it is a contract. Now Shay has no idea what's wrong, whereas before she knew EXACTLY what was wrong immediately, but the other manager, Sara, wouldn't fix it....that's why I was sent on a chase to find Jamal, who is no longer with the company of coarse. Monday we went in and Shay told me to wait while she gets the manager. 15 minutes later (her customer even had to ask the young man there to help her bec Shay left to get me the manager and hadn't returned) Shay returned telling my hubby and I that the manager is already gone. Tuesday at 5pm I went to the store again and left at 6:30pm with no results. The new manager (yes there's another one again), Patrick, is going thru my billing to see what he can do (I assume) so I was fine with leaving and giving him more time. I really really really appreciate any help in getting this figured out once and for all before I head to Texas. Anyway, Shay told me they would call me the next day bec they will be finished going thru it all. I NEVER heard from Shay or Patrick. Today at 1:34pm and Shay is off and Patrick's in another meeting and he will call me back when he's done. I'm starting to feel like this is not going to get resolved at store level after all, which is why I'm now writing this review. If something changes then I'll update again. This is the worse service ever and I'd never recommend AT&T. While I was in the store 3 others left unhappy. One man was even tossing his stuff around. I'm gone as soon as my "not a contract" is over in May of 2021. Patrick did give me $160 credit, but that's not what I was told so as much as I appreciate his doing that, I'm really upset Shay screwed me over! I bought a round trip ticket to Texas that was canceled bec of covid, but I will rebuying it again and paying a visit....

Here is the receipt I finally got them to print showing that they credited me ZERO for turning in my phone!!

This store is 100% the worst AT&T store I have ever been to. The managers are so unprofessional and the staff is poorly trained. I got the new iPhone 7Plus and turned in my old phone for a promotion that was a FREE upgrade. A month later I saw my bill shot up to $389 from $101. I called AT&T and they said the store never showed I turned in my phone and that's why I was charged. So then I went into the store. They said I turned it in but owed a balance on it so that's what the charge was for. When I saw the receipt it shows $0 value for the turned in phone. MJ is the manager that oversaw David J take my phone and zero out the credit for it. They can't find the phone now and say I need to pay $242 for it. AT&T said they have seen stores take phones and put zero credit down for them then the rep sells them for profit online. Looks like I'm a victim too now. NEVER NEVER GO TO THIS STORE! Sad because I've been with AT&T for 10+ years and never seen a store like this treat me the way they did.

Sometimes I'm a jerk. Sometimes I mozy into a store a mere three minutes before closing to make a purchase. Sometimes I make a sales associate stay 10 minutes later than they had planned. And, sometimes, just sometimes, I kick people in the shins. Hey, I told you I was a jerk sometimes. You know who's not a jerk though? The dude working at the AT&T store in Belmont Shore. When I came wandering in at 6:57pm on a Sunday night I didn't get one single exaggerated eye-roll, annoyed sigh, or knowing look to a co-worker. Nope, I got nothing but the best of service from good ol' Alfonso at the AT&T Store. And this was all before I even told him I was there to get an iPhone, he was just as happy to help after he found out about the little bump in commission he'd be getting at the end of the night. I was expecting a rushed transaction, and I wouldn't blame him. Hell, I'm the jerk here at closing on a Sunday night. But, no, not Alfonso - he still offered the upsell of chargers and covers and such, he happily transferred all of the phone numbers from the old phone to the new one, and even gave a quick tutorial on how to use this new-fangled iPhone. I must say, I was quite impressed with the service here. And it was much better than I've ever received at either the location in Seal Beach or on Bellflower. The only downside: the iPhone isn't for me. It's for freakin' Mr. Q.

Don't bother. ATT is a horrible company who just rips off their customers. The reps there really don't help at all.

By April 9, I was already calling tech support because the home Internet was so slow, and I was not receiving the speeds promised. When verifying my address, T-Mobile informed me that the address given by the store at the time of my signing up with Jose, was completely different from my actual home address! (the address used wasn't shared with me when I asked, probably to protect their employee) I tried to give the benefit of the doubt here that it was a mistake, but there is literally no other address associated with me, I bought my house in 2001 and he had my ID to verify and even printed out a Spectrum bill (my same address!) so I could receive a gift card for the balance due on my son's phone, which was a separate very long, complicated transaction...long story short, Jose used a false address to sell me home internet in my neighborhood, which is completely overcrowded and oversold! I have spent 2.5 months back-and-forth to try to get it improved, and T-Mobile would not even provide me with a free Wi-Fi extender when troubleshooting, so I spent $100 buying my own. T mobile customer service even lowered my Wi-Fi bill to $10 a month because they admitted fault and let me out of any contract to leave... Sadly, this last week while I waited and shopped for new service... It's become so poor that we've had to literally resort to hotspots on our phone to work, do school work during my son's finals week, and even to watch TV. Today I was able to get Frontier fiber internet installed and returned all my equipment to the LB store. Thankful the nightmare is over. VERY DECEPTIVE business practices from Jose at this location. T-Mobile should not be paying commission to their salespeople, it's obviously caused some to be pretty dishonest to make the extra money.

Anytime I have an issue, Elijah is the only one who actually takes the time to listen, explain things clearly, and make sure the problem is fully resolved. The level of customer service he provides truly stands out especially compared to others who barely seem interested in helping at all. Elijah consistently goes above and beyond, and it honestly shows that he cares about his job and the customers. Turning fifty-five does have some advantages, one of which is qualifying for the 55+ plans at…read moreT-Mobile. So have been monitoring current deals, and have come into this store multiple times to 'window' shop and get clarifications. Thus when I saw a new deal pop up over the weekend, came back to this store to see if worth purchasing. It was. The switch is not complete yet, but the customer interaction at this store so far has been outstanding. Like many folks, my wife and I have been mobile customers across all the major carriers (including Sprint, which no longer exists), currently getting service through our Internet provider, Spectrum. Everyone provides unlimited national data now, so price continues to be the main driver for us. Both our I-phones (smallest physical footprint available) are (slowly) dying, victim of new OS's that require faster processors/memory and faster-draining/slower-recharging old batteries. But I like the form size of it, and it would still be useful as an occasional wi-fi device (or sell it to a company like Gazelle for over $100), so didn't want to use a deal that required a trade-in. So with the release of the I-phone 17e by Apple earlier this month ('budget' model, retailing for $599 for the 256GB version), T-Mobile recently published a new deal: get a 17e 'free' with 24 month contract, with no trade-in. What wasn't clear online was if the 55+ plans would apply. So decided to stop back in while doing some errands by myself in DTLB. This store is marketed as a T-Mobile experience store. Whenever we stop in, it's fairly busy but staffed well enough to have someone immediately available to help with no wait. Like before, I interacted with Taylor (Sr. Mobile Expert). He confirmed my understanding, and then looked up to see if the 55+ Essential ($60 plus tax for 2 lines with auto-pay monthly) would qualify. I was very pleasantly surprised that it did. The plan works as an interest free loan, with T-Mobile giving us the $599 to purchase the phone. From the government's perspective, the phone was bought at full retail price, and sales tax must be paid by the customer at the time of sale, which is what I did for both phones. T-Mobile then gives us a $24.96 credit for each phone at each billing cycle to pay off the phone. This means that if we cancel the service before 24 months, we would owe the remaining balance on the phone(s). Either way, the phone would be unlocked and would belong to us. So with that information, I decided to move forward with Taylor. After asking a co-worker, he recommended that the entire transaction be performed over the T-Mobile app on my (old) phone (including payment)...and he stayed with me while we did so. I remarked if there was a way to credit him; he responded that at this store, the employees did not work on commission. The phone itself is on backorder and will be shipped directly to our home, at which point we could start the actual switch over process. Since the newest phones only use E-SIMs now, we shouldn't have to come back in to get them activated. But it's nice to know that if we want to get personalized attention to complete the switch, Taylor and the rest of the non-commissioned T-Mobile team at this DTLB experience are there to walk one through it.
