The lobster tail was fresh and very good, although honestly, it ended up playing third wheel to the steak and potatoes. And those potatoes... GET. THE. POTATO. GRATIN. Seriously. I don't know what kind of buttery, cheesy sorcery was happening back there, but they were ridiculously good. I went to this restaurant for a number of years and I generally always had a good experience. Then about fifteen years ago I went to the restaurant and had a swordfish dinner. Then for the next few days I had absolutely violent food poisoning because of this meal. Finally days later I called the restaurant and told the General Manager that I had violent food poisoning because of my meal there. I then asked if I could have a refund for my dinner. Then the General Manager said he wouldn't give me a refund but I could come in for a free dinner. For this absolute jackass to offer me a free dinner right after I had food poisoning from his restaurant was about the most insensitive act I have ever seen. I have never gone there since then. I was also surprised how loud it was inside, but it was the two of us seated by two kind of large group groups, which might've just been an unfortunate circumstance. This is THE seafood place to have dinner at in Boston. No debate! The 3 $$$ are no joke, but the value is 4 or 5 $$$$$. Initially we weren't going to come here but our Uber driver recommended us switch our reservations from another place to Atlantic Fish. I am so glad we did! Our server Nick, was an absolute rockstar. Knew the menu like he wrote it himself! Starting from the warm, fluffy bread and butter, then to the lobster bisque and clam chowder that we shared, and an absolutely unique haddock with crab and other spices on top (my wife got the swordfish that was also perfect), all was absolutely delicious. He suggested a great red and white wine for both of us to pair with our meals. Tons of wine on the menu, so he was able to expertly scope out something that was available to have in a glass, and pair with our food. The biggest "almost-didn't-happen" food stop for us. Atlantic Fish was close to our hotel so we gave them a try. It was a nice evening outside so we opted for an outdoor table. The service was friendly and helpful. The food was good although my husband enjoyed his whole branzino more than I enjoyed my lobster roll. I opted for the warm version of the sandwich but it was lobster chunks on a toasted roll with a side of melted butter to pour on it. For $40 it was a little too plain for my liking. Without a doubt this side of San Francisco, this clam chowder in a bread bowl may be some of the most hearty and flavorful New England has to offer. It really is something to order. The Maine Lobster Roll is good but unfortunately that is all it is. It is overdone with mayonnaise and other flavors that they seem to have forgotten the lobster is the star. I could not enjoy this roll as much as I would have liked. It is also served with fries, which sticking to my new American principles, only ate five before quitting. Great place for lunch! Had lunch with my coworkers on a work trip and was recommended by our hotel concierge. Immediately seated and served warm bread and butter. Fantastic end to our New England culinary exploration in Boston. We loved the tuna tartare, crab encrusted haddock and lobster carbonara. We often get tuna tartare when available as an appetizer and this was so different to any others. Boston, MA - a popular restaurant so we had to wait about 20 mins to get a table due to not having a reservation. Came here to try the lobster. Since it is served as a whole steamed lobster and I didn't want to spend time picking away at the shell, they have an option to serve the lobster meat in a casserole dish. I ordered a 2lb lobster which was $75 US and added crab meat for an extra $17. Dish was then baked. It didn't come with melted butter on the side but maybe they forgot to bring it? I enjoyed it still without the butter. The lobster meat was sweet and tender and there was a good amount of lobster tail meat (although I think most of the 2lb weight I paid for was from the huge lobster head, which I did not eat). I made a Sunday Brunch reservation for 11:30am for four and we walked into the cavernous wooden interior that had multiple elements that resembled a sail boat. We were surprised at how full the restaurant was at the time and there were a mix of tourists and regulars enjoying their brunch. Our party of four was seated at a booth and our server greeted us a few minutes later. We looked over the brunch and lunch menus, and saw "Award Winning Clam Chowder" on the menu. I knew I had to try that after seeing that, and our group also went for the tuna tartar and oysters rockerfeller to start the meal. After ordering our meal, the server brought over some warm bread with butter and everyone was pleasantly surprised by how delicious it was. We suspect its the same bread used for their clam chowder bread bowls, which I definitely need to try next time. Our bowls of chowder were up first and it was on the thicker side, with smaller chunks of potato and clam. The flavor was great, I added a bit of black pepper to mine but it didn't feel like an award-winning clam chowder, it was still delicious though. The oysters rockerfeller that came out shortly afterwards were loaded with spinach, some of the biggest I've ever seen. It tasted very good, one of the best bites of the meal. The tuna tartar came with taro chips which was an interesting twist, and tasted fresh and refreshing. Nothing remarkable but a solid starter. For my main course, I decided to try the Maine Lobster Roll since I've been craving one for a while. It was prepared cold with mayo and scallion, and served alongside some fluffy fresh fries. The lobster roll definitely fulfilled my craving, I was sad when I finished it. The stringy-ness of the lobster made it slightly difficult to bite but that didn't deter my experience at all. The service at Atlantic Fish was phenomenal and made the meal feel like a special occasion. The food was solid and at a price point that is approachable for that area of Boston. read more
