I know, 4 stars for a hospital cafeteria. Weird, right? Well, I think I have to put this into context. Carmel, at least this part of Carmel where US-31 and the office park and hospital corridor are, are kind of in a Breakfast Desert. Really, a specific kind of breakfast. One that is affordable and you feel the quality roughly translates into the price. There are plenty of places in Carmel where they will gladly sell you a few pieces of french toast, a pair of bacon, and coffee and charge you $15 where you can get it for $10 or less in many diners throughout Indy and get roughly the same or better quality. But not at A'Trio. Here, you get freshly prepared food for a reasonable price. There are also pre-made food items for those in a rush. And there is a coffee bar with some baked goods and whatnot outside of A'Trio. Eggs are cracked and freshly prepared. Coffee is nice and hot. And again, a good value. If you're in the area and don't want your food Fast, come here.

People don't believe me when I say how great this restaurant is. Because it is physically located in a hospital, they immediately get the impression "hospital food" or "hospital cafeteria" and can't let go of it. Well...., read this http://currentincarmel.com/reversing-the-stereotype They hired John Travolta's former personal chef, fer cryin' out loud. Well, it's Carmel, whaddaya expect? It's all that. They *cook to order* ! Even the pre-made stuff is high quality, that you find in fancy delis around town. Fresh, healthy, all that. The ambience of the dining area is also very very "not a hospital". Upscale. I've eaten breakfast/brunch here probably a dozen times. I love it.

Decent food, decent prices, kinda slow... but $0.85 for a cup of ice water??? Outrageous.

It's rare that I find a hospital cafeteria with food worth eating but somehow IU North has managed to accomplish this.

When I entered inside mid Wednesday morning, I encountered a Museum-like vibe. Unsure if there should be some exhibits for me to view and ponder while I debate what coffee to buy. I proceeded to get a latte with a little hazelnut flavor, medium size. Latte with oat milk ($1 up charge and hazelnut 35 cent up charge) medium size was $8. I wonder if more of the profit is from these non dairy milk surcharges or the coffee itself. I would say the latte was one of the better ones. It was smooth and not too sweet. Sometimes they're too sweet. The service was good, and it wasn't particularly busy so the coffee came out in like 5 minutes. There are small pastries to try and other specialty drinks. I would consider trying this again given the taste quality of the latte. The medium size was also sufficient. Not too small. 8/10

Super friendly the ladies that work in front are smiling and super cute. They are kind and Friendly my vanilla latte was done real fast and tastes Hmm a bit bitter then what I expected to be which means it was a bit strong for me.. not sweet enough but overall I do recommend this place for any age people to come and chat and relax eat and spend time away from home. My husband went running so I'm chilling here waiting for him. By the way the bathrooms are clean as well. After trying my vanilla latte two times, I end up asking the young ladies to make me another latte because I wanted to try something sweeter and they did it for free and actually was amazing what they gave me. Thanks so much I was not expecting that awesome treatment. Place gets crowded fast and the girls move fast as well. Not disappointed at all... I give it 10 out of 10

As far as drinks, I want to start by saying that their lattes are definitely the way to go. They are a bit sweet, so I would advise getting it with less pumps. However, I thoroughly enjoyed it :). After I had been there about an hour, I ordered some drinks to go for me and for some other people. The decaf cold brew was fine, but it could have been stronger. The matcha... bless their little matcha hearts. It was presweetened which leads me to believe it's a mix. It wasn't grainy, but it didn't taste like anything? The strawberry matcha tasted mostly like strawberry milk and the matcha flavor it did have was not good. There were so many matcha recipes on the menu that I thought it would be better. The hot plain matcha was also not great. There needs to be more of a tea flavor and it almost tasted artificial. Overall, I would definitely come back! I would maybe just skip over the matcha, haha.

It was super easy to find parking, and we came at the perfect time. While there many people inside, just hanging out, we were able to hop in the small line and we had a minimal wait for our drinks. Next time I will likely order with another shot of espresso to even out the sweetness. But I could tell it was fresh syrup and it was very good!

The compliments were endless--everyone's already asking when Prufrock can come back (ideally every day!). They offer both a coffee cart and trailer service, which was super easy to arrange, and we'll definitely be booking them again in the future. After our event, I finally stopped by their shop in Carmel, IN--and wow, it did not disappoint. You really can't go wrong with coffee in a can, especially when it's the best blueberry vanilla iced latte I've ever had. The owners and staff are genuinely wonderful people who clearly care about what they do. The atmosphere is perfect for catching up with friends or getting some work done, and there are plenty of photo-worthy spots too. Don't be depresso--have some espresso at Prufrock Coffee. You won't be disappointed!

It was served warm and very fresh, with delicious cream cheese frosting. I ordered the Signature Egg Tart, and it was wonderful. It was rich and almost quiche-like, filled with lots of roasted vegetables, and the bright, acidic sauce balanced it really well. I honestly wouldn't have changed anything except maybe adding a little salt, but that may just be personal preference. I also enjoyed a cold brew while we sat out on the patio. The only downside was the construction noise from the large apartment buildings going up around the patio. That is obviously not the restaurant's fault, but it is something to be aware of if you're planning to sit outside right now. Overall, great food, kind service, and a really thoughtful birthday touch. We would definitely go back!

Everything felt fresh, thoughtful, and well-executed. The space is clean, bright, and nicely decorated. Coffee was strong and flavorful (just how I like it). The salad that came with the omelet was next-level, with a light, citrusy dressing that balanced everything perfectly. The waffles were incredibly airy, soft, fluffy, and melt-in-your-mouth good.... And wow, the bacon was so good we ended up ordering another side. Despite the restaurant being packed, service was friendly, efficient, and never felt rushed. The service was pretty laid back which made it a great place to sit back and catch up. The Shirred Duccah Eggs paired nicely with the Portabella Strata. The mushrooms in the strata were plenty and earthy. The fruit that came with it had pomegranate included which was a nice touch. The Ciabatta with the Shirred Duccah eggs was nicely toasted with a good chewy texture. It was great to complement the yolky egg. The lamb sausage did not taste very gamey and the spices with the pop of sweetness with the raisins made it and interesting, complex flavor profile. Service was a bit slower than I'm used to, so this is definitely not your typical quick breakfast stop. Also, don't come expecting the usual breakfast staples like toast, pancakes, or a side of bacon. The menu leans more toward a curated dining experience rather than a traditional breakfast. Portion sizes were on the smaller side, but again, the presentation was beautiful. I ordered a regular coffee. It was strong somewhere between decent and average. Not the best, but not the worst either. I asked for a refill, and when we received the bill there was an additional $6.82 charge. I was later told that regular coffee does not come with refills. If I had known that beforehand, I probably would not have ordered another cup, or I might have tried one of their specialty coffees instead. Overall, it's a cute spot with European-inspired décor and a unique concept. It's the kind of place you should probably try at least once for the experience.
