My initial experience with Audi (not Audi Indianapolis's fault) was a little shaky. I owned an Audi Q7 TDI and was caught up in the diesel emissions scandal. When we sold the Q7, Audi Indianapolis made the process super simple. Well done! The customer experience at Audi Indianapolis is incredible due to my experience with Andrew Fier. Ask for him every time. Customer experience is dead everywhere; expect when Andrew is involved. He provides exactly what you expect. He and his team jumped through hoops to get my Audi S5 (350 hp; 370 torque at the crank) ready for a very important meeting. Andrew and his team came through and did not disappoint. If it wasn't ready, I was going to have to show up to the meeting with my mom's 120hp Hyundia. It's a decent practical car, but it is no Audi S5. Picture below of me showing up to my meeting. Andrew and I could talk about cars all day. I'm ready to test drive an Audi e-Tron GT, but not ready to buy. It is a big investment. From my automotive engineering background, we also said "don't buy the first year of a new car". We as engineers still have kinks to work out. I can't wait for the next model year! Five star experience on a purchase deal. We found a three-year old Audi Q5 at a reasonable price based on model year and mileage. The sales staff and business manager were helpful. New Audi's are out of my price range and depreciation comfort zone, but a sweet spot exists with lease returns. I'm concerned about maintenance costs over time so we'll see how it goes. read more

Horrible experience. My daughter bought her first car, a used 2017 Q5 from this dealership in August as she was going to college. They claimed they had done all the maintenance and the vehicle was in perfect working condition , not needing service for another 10k miles. Within a week of purchase she had to start adding 1-2 quarts of oil 1-2 times per month. She took the car back into service and they told her the car needed a new engine that would cost more than what she paid for the vehicle. Furthermore now that they "know" the car is using oil, they gave her a trade in value of less than half of what she paid for it. I would avoid this dealership at all costs. They obviously have honesty issues and are looking to take advantage of their customers. read more

Do not recommend this dealer, find a different place for service or you will pay for it. - Brianna please spend more time hiring honest technicians rather than double downing on false information in response to yelp reviews. When I took my car in to be serviced (for the second time for the same problem which they could not find the root cause) they did a multi point inspection. During the inspection they graded many elements as "passed". My vehicle did break down on a road trip a week after this "inspection". I never said you caused this issue, I stated that you should have caught this during the "inspection" of the vehicle, but now that you mention it I think it is awfully suspicious and have heard others have the exact same experience at this dealership. I have never taken my car anywhere else for servicing outside of the Audi Indianapolis dealership. On 9/10/25 it was in for an oil change. No mention of a coolant leak. On 9/24/25 I had a coolant warning pop up. I took it straight to the dealership. Rather than taking it back to look at it, Justin, the sales rep, topped it off with coolant. The next day the same warning popped up AND my engine light came on. Again, I took it straight to the dealership. Hours later, I received a text that I needed over $6000 in repairs due to a coolant leak that got into my vacuum system! A text...not even the courtesy of a phone call to explain anything!!! I find it impossible to believe I sprung a coolant leak after my car was just inspected there there two weeks prior, and that it caused that amount of damage. I also can't help but wonder if it had actually been inspected the day prior when I brought it in, vs. just rushing through and adding coolant, if it would have kept it from getting in the vacuum system, which I was told doubled the cost of the repair. My boyfriend has had an Audi with a coolant leak for TWO YEARS that never got into his vacuum system. In light of what happened to mine, he finally decided to get it repaired. His repair was half the cost of mine. I was told a big factor in the cost was the difference in the cost of labor. Audi Indianapolis charges $110/hour more than Audi Columbus!!! What a rip off!!! Needless to say, my car will not be coming back to Audi Indianapolis for anything! You all should be ashamed of the terrible service, the lack of care, and the price gouging! We drove over 100 miles to purchase a used Mazda cx-5. After doing a quick inspection of car it all seemed to be fine. Dirty but cleanable. Derrick the salesman told me service goes through these vehicles with a fine tooth comb before hitting the lot. on drive home noticed infotainment center station would just go to another station without touching anything. Plus infotainment center dorsnt work sometimes. When arriving home noticed oil in tailpipes. Checked oil half a quart low. I called Derrick back to inform him of findings within a week after purchase. He said manager would be getting back to me that day. It's been over 2 weeks. Have not heard from anyone. Terrible. Just Terrible. Rest assured I will certainly let everyone know how Audi Indianapolis treats there customers. I believe they knew about these flaws. Shame on u. Told me everything works like should. Thought I liked Tom Wood Audi, this is the second vehicle I bought there but it will be my last. I was suckered into a $1700 upcharge by a salesman that led me to believe that Audi is giving me a dent, warranty package for FREE. This package includes free dent repair, $500 if my car gets stolen, free interior repair if I damage my leather seats! Really! I would never pre-pay for any of that and unfortunately I realized it after I had time to review my contract. So much for thinking my sales person was honest! I tried to cancel the extra insurance and they said it was too late..I even asked if they could pro rate it...nope...what a racket. read more

So, I just need to let you know where my whole coolant issue landed. I had I think a total of 5 coolant leaks---most around the coolant pump. Despite these failing in the repair warranty window and getting replaced at no charge, it obviously doesn't instill much faith to take a road trip and worry about excessive and sudden coolant leaks. After the series of replacements, Tom Wood Audi said they they would replace any more water pumps because the degradation of the pump was supposedly being caused by a fluid or oil leak. A few months later, the whole coolant pump thing ended up in a class action lawsuit against Audi for known and repeated leak issue with the coolant pump. So, clearly, Tom Wood service knew this was a pervasive problem and chose to lie to a customer instead. Despite having like coolant leaks in 2 years, my claim as part of the class action lawsuit was rejected because I I deviated more than 10% on a service interval. Beware, Audi/VW was the same company who rigged their emissions systems. It seems the same dishonesty trickles down even to the dealerships. Oh, and if you care about COVID precautions at all, this place was a disaster. Clearly it's SO HARD to work seated in air-conditioned spaces that mask-use is burdensome. read more

As an Audi owner, I expected a lot more from this dealership. Went into the showroom with my wife to look at a Q7 as a replacement car for her. We were met (eventually) by a salesman who never introduced himself. I finally gave up, told him our names and asked for his during our test drive. Admittedly I told him that we weren't likely "buying today" because we wanted to make sure the Q7 was right for her first. Apparently, that is Audi Indianapolis' code for "next customer, please." Needless to say, he did take us on a short test drive at our request where he proceeded not go to through any of the options of the car... whether it's because he felt we weren't buying or because he assumed I don't really need to know is anybody's guess. Perhaps, we should have just been happy he didn't drop us off at the bus station before going back to the dealership. Once we arrived at the dealership, I thanked him (not the other way around) and asked him a question on the price for the particular model... he told us to go to their website, use the quoting tool online and to call him when we were ready to buy. If the cliche of the "pushy car salesmen" is true, then just use the phrase "I'm not likely buying today" at Tom Wood Audi Indianapolis because I guarantee you no sales people will ever bother you. I purchased my Audi in Texas and always took my car to the service department for oil changes and other maintenance. I was always treated with the best customer service any one could ask for! I just moved back to the Indy area and needed a oil change and replacement parts for my front grill where the Texas tag was hanging. I called the parts department to see if they had the replacement part I needed and I was talked down to like I didn't have a clue of what I was talking about. I told the parts guy I know what I need because my husband is in the auto parts business and asked if he was ready for my vin number to look up the part I needed. He looked it up said they had it in stock and said he would put it out for me when I came to get the oil changed. Then ended it with, they do put it on for free but since my husband was in the parts business he could put it on for me, almost a little snarky! I showed up yesterday for the oil change and was told I needed everything under the sun done to my car because it was at 40K miles. I looked at the total $1300 and told him no, he proceeded to be the salesman he is so I called my husband and let him talk to the guy and tell him exactly what I told him "just the oil change and to put on the replacement part!" He went over what was being done along with the cost of the replacement part however said nothing about the cost to do the oil change. Very snarky like he guides me to the waiting are. When my car was done he showed me the total and without thinking I paid. Then I was taken outside where he was trying to locate my car. I got in and it dawned on me how I paid! The replacement part was exactly what I quoted but the oil change was $230!!!! I have never paid more than $115 at the (2) different Audi locations in Texas..it was DOUBLE in Indiana! My husband was furious and called them the next day and was talked to very unprofessional and was told basically that's what they charge here. My husband asked if we brought the coupon I forgot would they honor it? He was told no but next time I come in for a oil change they would discount it for us. Husband then asked how they could do it then and not now, he was told they didn't have the authority to do it now. So my husband said "I guess since your the only Audi dealer in the metro you can just take advantage of people?" The guy replied rudely "I guess so!" I was told pretty much that they didn't want to do any warranty work on my 2018 Audi Q3. I was pretty disappointed with the lack of respect I was given by the service department. I won't be buying an Audi again and I would never take my vehicle to Tom Wood Audi for so much as an oil change even. A Mr Snodgrass was my contact and the blatant disrespect I was given by him was appalling. After listening to Mr. Snodgrass I got the idea that Audi in general is not a vehicle i should have purchased in the first place with their long long list of problems. At 85 thousand miles my 2018 Audi was pretty much reduced to garbage. It was going through 3-4 quarts of oil a month and at first I was told it was acceptable. (Who adds 3-4 quarts a month in oil)? It was under warranty from a Toyota dealership. Even under a full warranty I was required to pay half the labor out of my own pocket for Tom Wood to attempt to look at it. It was found to be the pistons and rings (both covered under my warranty) went bad at 85 thousand miles which i was told was a "common" issue by Mr. Snodgrass. So almost 3 months and a 4500$ deposit (which I was refunded) I have this Audi back. $13,248 to repair a "common" problem from an Audi vehicle. Thank god for warrantys even if this dealership does not want to honor them. They did also try their best to come up with additional repairs needed in an attempt to keep my $4500 deposit. You know (from the long list of problems) ones not covered under the warranty. My only wish was that Mr Snodgrass was the person attempting to sell me this vehicle rather then the one trying to get out of repairing it. With his great insight on all things bad with Audi i am sure i would never have purchased it in the beginning. Please learn from my mistake. Do not buy an Audi and most importantly do not take your vehicle to Tom Wood Audi of Indianapolis. Off topic for goodness sakes getting in and out of that place is a nightmare! I had to drive (they refused to tow) to drop it off and pick it up.. I think 10 more round-a-bouts ought to fix the problem. read more

I made an appointment a month or two in advance for recall parts on my Audi TT. Once having the vehicle, they mentioned it may be a day or two before it was done. I asked them to tackle a small issue I have with my seat. The seat was coming apart at the seams. I wanted them to repair that on my dime to knock two birds out with one stone. Simple plastic piece to replace on each side of the seat. I live about an hour from the dealership so it is a task to get up there after work while dodging traffic. I figured the parts would take about a week to get; so that would be perfect for when the tech is ready for the airbag. Total time I figured they'd have the car was a week and a half too two weeks. Well, I was wrong. After the first week I was told the tech had only quoted half of the seat repair which changed my bill from $520 area to $900. (Aug 18) Well okay that's fine but it would've been nice to know next day or something. I was told a week later. (Aug24)I did want that fixed so I sent the ok for the repair. After another week and labor day holiday(3weeks to the day sept 7) I have gotten my car back. I had to leave work early to make it because pick ups are required before 5:25pm. First off very little thing but when I turned the car on I happened to notice it was in dynamic mode...which makes me nervous because I don't keep it in dynamic mode.... Anybody knows Audi knows that means sport mode..... There is a new scratch at the top left of my steering wheel from what looks like a key chain or zipper snag. I also received it back with the steering wheel cover off the back of the wheel. I asked if the tech could snap it back on because I didn't want to break any of the plastic clips. He managed to get it after about 5 minutes of trying in front of my girlfriend and I. Once we left I found out about the wiggly air bag. Couldn't help but notice a white static noise on my passenger door speaker as well too. Pretty frustrating. On another note, the seat repair is great. I looked over the seat and tested to see if it would lean forward. All works and looks great! Also, the total wasn't $900. It was $790. I don't know how we got there but at this point I appreciate it and I just want my car back. I know this all seems petty but I have heard about this dealership not being the best for service. I tried to go to another private shop but they wouldn't do the recall repairs due to Audi not paying them for those special repairs. I'm not accusing the techs of scratching my wheel or blowing my speakers, but I just can't help but notice the lack of attention to detail. How can you give a customer their car back when you didn't put the cover back on? Seeing it in dynamic mode makes me think somebody is being heavy on the gas petal when they don't own the car. All in all what I've gathered in my experience is; if you pay for the repairs you may be in the clear. If you don't pay for any repairs; they will be rushed and half-assed. Won't be going back to fix this wrong I will be going to another shop. I'd rather pay them to fix it correctly than give it back for free. read more

Decided that it was time to upgrade the ole' car, and getting a flat tire was a perfect excuse. Not too many options when it comes to Audi's in the Circle City, so off I went to the Tom Wood Audi/Audi Indianapolis website to start my search. Before I even finished looking on their website, I had a call from the dealership. I have to admit, I was a bit irked because under "contact method" I specifically put "email". Why businesses ask this question if they're going to overlook it is beyond me. As someone who despises talking on the phone and would much rather text or email, this was certainly noticed, and had I had another real option I probably would have went somewhere else. I decided to go ahead and call the salesperson back and made an appointment to come in the next business day and look at cars. I tried explaining what I was looking for so they would have something ready for me to look at when I arrived, but the salesperson was in a bit of a hurry... probably because someone else filled out a form online and he needed to call them before they blinked. In any case, I went into the dealership and asked for the person I had talked to, expecting that he would have all of my information from my online inquiry ready to go. Instead, without even slowing down his walking pace, he told me that he was getting ready to deliver another car and that he would be handing me off to someone else. I've worked with car dealers before, and this is another thing that irks me off. Fortunately, the person that I was handed off to, Justin, was fantastic. I started the process of explaining what I was looking for over to him (no notes transferred, apparently) and he immediately started looking for something for me. I noticed a car online that I was interested in, and he went and got it pretty quickly for me to test drive. I decided that was the car that I wanted and ended up leaving with it a couple of days later. I know the perception that car dealers play games is out there and I do think to some degree that happened to get me in the door, but once I actually got to Justin and started working with him, my perception of the dealership and the games that I felt they played went away. I will say that I asked for the front license plate holder to be removed and was told I would have to buy a part to make that happen, so before I even took delivery of the vehicle I was out $75 to have something removed from the car. CALL SALESMAN JUSTIN LOCKE!! This man has done backflips to assure my Audi purchase experience has been 1st Class from the first contact. I purchased a 2020 Audi S8 about one month ago. AMAZING car (see pics!). I saw the car online and Justin Locke was my first call to talk about this beautiful Audi. We negotiated and Justin was more than fair about the final price. The car was virtually new (3 model years old with 221 (yep - 221) miles)) but had a scratch on the driver's door (another paren but bear with me! I would never have known about the scratch as it was too small to show in the online pics). After I made the purchase, Justin immediately sent the car to Indianapolis Audi's expert micro-paint expert (YouTube it!). I label that person an "Expert" as the scratch that Justin had fixed is just plain gone! Justin had the S8 shipped to me (I live in Detroit) and I immediately drove this pretty ride to my local expert auto detailers (another AMAZING group of automobile artists - Motor City Auto Spa!) to apply Xpel PPF and to powder coat my wheels gloss black (again - see pics! NOTE: Pic3 is the car as it looked on delivery). About two weeks after I had this mechanical wonder in my garage, JUSTIN LOCKE (the CAPS are purposeful - CALL HIM) sent me a little gift which rhymes with all-weather S8 logo floor mats. There was no reason to send me these other than offering a tangible "thank you for your purchase!" I can't say this will happen for you. I CAN say that Justin will make your financially substantial Audi buying experience better than you could expect. I have an Audi A8L and scheduled an appoint for Thursday September 17, 2020 @ 730am. It was to diagnose an MMI screen issue because my screen had lost power and wasn't displaying anything. I dropped my car off Wednesday evening between 8-830pm and put my key in their drop box. They contacted me on Thursday morning stating that they had diagnosed the problem. I declined service to shop around to see if I could find a better deal somewhere else. I of course paid the diagnostic fee. I let them know I wouldn't be able to pick my vehicle up until Friday evening. My wife takes me up there to pick up my car. I wasn't greeted at all and walked up to the desk and the receptionist was quite rude and told me to go wait over at a desk for a service advisor. After about 10 minutes of waiting a service advisor came to assist. His name was Ben don't remember his last name. He goes out back to bring my vehicle into the service bay. He comes in hands me my receipt and asks if I would like to have my car washed. I said sure why not. He said I'll get it washed sir. He takes my car through the car wash and back into the bay. Comes back in and says your cars ready sir, but I need to show you something on it. We go out and my windshield is cracked in the middle from top to bottom starting from a fairly large and noticeable rock chip above my mirror that was not there when I dropped my vehicle off on Wednesday evening. He stated that the crack came from the rock chip that wasn't there prior to me bringing my car to the dealership for service. I said how would a car wash crack the windshield. He said well it's from the temperature change. It was 65 degrees out that day and I'm sure that pouring 50 degree water from a car wash on it will not cause a window to crack. He insisted and claimed that it wasn't their fault. The rock chip was not their prior to my car coming to the dealer. I am very meticulous with my car and would have noticed a pea sized chunk missing on my window. I told him I'm not leaving the dealership until you give me some type of documentation stating that this happened here. I asked to speak to a manager and he also tried to say it wasn't their fault. I left the dealer. I left a voicemail on the GMs voicemail stating what had happened on Friday. Still have not received a call back and it's Saturday. I call the dealership again Saturday morning trying to get ahold of the GM. According to the people I spoke to he was not in. Left my name and phone for him to call me back. I called again a few hours later and talked to a girl(the receptionist) and asked if he was in. She said yes he is in but he just left. I was very polite and she hung the phone up on me. I called back and got a sales manager and asked for the highest manager that is in today. He finally transferred me to a Niel Brenner the GSM. I explained the situation and he said he understands my frustration but unfortunately there was nothing he could do today. But he said when the GM comes back in on Monday he will give me a call first thing Monday morning. I don't want to go the legal route, but it seems that I will have to go that way. Will be receiving a call from my lawyer on Monday to move further with the process if need be. They at the moment are refusing to fix my windshield. Will post another update on Monday to find out what they are going to do. I would definitely not recommend dealership but unfortunately they are the only Audi dealer in the Indianapolis area. Horrible service, rude employees besides Mr. Brenner who seemed genuine about trying to get this issue solved. I've never been to a car dealership and felt so unwelcome. read more

Where to start with these guys?!?! Set up an appointment to come look at a used 22 A5 around 5pm for the next morning. Left Chicago at 6am to arrive around 9am in Indy... about 30 minutes out I find out they took a deposit the night before but didn't feel like calling to inform me the night before. I get the old "bait and switch" to a brand new a5 for almost $15k more. I end up reluctantly buying the car after driving 2.5 hours after the salesman (Josh Sides) assures me that Audi's hold their value unlike any other manufacturer. I pay a ridiculous markup for a "security package" (just stickers on the door jams) that registers the car and lowers your insurance rates - with State Farm it did NOT lower it. I get back home and find they never even installed the stickers! Then within a week the taillight quits working and my local Audi says it has physical damage. Luckily I took pictures in their lot and was able to get a refund for both the taillight replacement and the security package. Fast forward to now. SIX MONTHS LATER. I consider changing to a Q5 or lowering my payment. What does he offer me on trade? $38,000. 6 months, a loss of $25,000 or 40% of it's original value. I ask if it's a typo and his response is sending me an ad for a less equipped same year, similar A5 that's $47,000. Wow. I went to this dealer a while ago to get some minor work on my A6. Oil change and brake job went as planned. I also needed an alignment which they said they could not perform due to the front tie rods being seized. They quoted me at $1406. I took the car to a tire shop where they performed the alignment with no issues and they did not try to charge me $1400 for unnecessary work. read more

I purchased a brand new Audi allroad in 2013 and along with it, Neal, the finance guy, sold me a warranty package costing well over $2000 that included wheel and tire protection. Recently I had run into a pothole that popped both of my tires. The warranty explicitly covers pothole damage. Tom Wood did not facilitate the honoring of their warranty. Avoid anything sold by Neal the finance guy. I let him know personally via email and have waited for him outside his office too. He doesn't care and has ignored me. In short the service process is NOT a desirable experience. I'd expect this process to be stress free and seamless, like a luxury brand experience should be. I request a loaner and it seems like I'm asking for a brand new car. The service team somehow cannot provide or find a loaner. When I ask for a swift drop off because we have young kids that seems to be too much to ask. While they have provided a rental car as an option that swap process takes more like 30-45 minutes with a ride to a separate location or additional paperwork that takes more time. My most recent experience was one where I specifically asked the team to keep my car in the drive port so I could transfer car seats. They moved the car and couldn't find it when I finally got the rental car paperwork filled out. I had to walk the parking lot to find my car to transfer the car seats. Mind you, I was trying to quickly get in and out to head to work. Of course this extra 20 minutes made me late. I found the car in the lot and had to walk the car seats from the back of the lot to the car port, not a simple and quick transfer. Here's what my pick up experience looks like. Consistently a subpar experience with a fee ranging between $500-$1500. Not a brand I'd opt into again simply because of the service experiences. I've bought a lot of cars over the years, most of them premium brands. The only really bad experience I've ever had (twice, no less) is from Tom Wood/Audi Indianapolis. The first time I regrettably ended up buying a car; the second time I gave up and went to Byers in Columbus Ohio (which is where I'd recommend going). Though I had shopped on line and knew that Audi Indy was pretty much the most expensive Audi dealer in the Midwest, I really wanted to support the local dealer and offered several thousand $ more for a new car than I could buy it for elsewhere. They still jerked me around and tried to charge me more than list price for some small parts accessories (which should have been included anyway). Simply horrible to deal with. I took my new 2018 RS3 and 450 miles to the Service Department because my windshield wipers chattered during a rain. I explained that it was a new car that I bought at this dealership and was told that I would be charged because of normal wear. I replied that the car was new and the Service said that the problem was that the windshield need polishing and not wipers. I have out in 2 rains since and the wipers chatter. Worst service department and even worse service advisors. A bunch of condescending, lazy jerks work there who give inconsistent stories and excuses for their multitude of screw ups in addition to their inability to ever diagnose an OBVIOUS problem or to even check TSB's against symptom. I've had to hold their hands with each WARRANTY issue otherwise they never would be able to diagnose anything nor fix it. I'm sure it's due to VW being in their ear after the $10 BILLION class action judgement against them. Let's not forget to mention that every time I get my car back it's in worse condition than when I brought it in. Damaged my grill, damaged my door, new whining noise, suspension issues, etc. Oh and they treat women awful too, so ladies beware. read more

Dennis told me to fill out application online, which I did through the website and he didn't want to go find it. He emailed me the application. I filled it out and sent it back 4 times. Told him we were coming out to look at the car early, he didn't have it ready so another person bought it. He then blamed me for my emails not getting to him. But yet it was sent somewhere else and they saw it. Poor business practices and customers service. read more

I had a flat tire. AAA put the spare on over the weekend and I called Audi Indianapolis first thing Monday. They checked to ascertain the tire was in, scheduled me for a 10:15 appointment and Benjamin took great care of me. Got the new tire on within an hour, filled my windshield washer fluid (at no charge), and Ben even re-paired my iPhone Bluetooth to obviate a command on the screen which kept asking for a password (which another Audi could never figure out). I was having some rodent problem on my 2017 A4 and I took my car to Audi of Indianapolis it was Insurance claim first they said it not covered by insurance later they said we will check and will advise and they estimate for $1336.00 for repair which approve by my insurance and soon after getting approval they change the repair cost to $3070.00 however my insurance request them to send the revised cost on their supplement b2b form which Audi of Indianapolis lazy service coordinator was unable to provide for 3 weeks they are so unprofessional and very un responsible people who does not care for customers and ribbing the customers with un reasonable high repair cost there sales guys are very unprofessional any body go there please be careful read more
