I've tried both the restaurant and the cafe. The restaurant is worth splurging and trying! Great cocktails and tapas! Fast service too, even though we were in the back, our server would always come to check on us. I got the espresso martini but overall, I'm a big fan of their cocktails and that's what will bring me back to that restaurant. We also as tapa got the caviar and chips...yup delicious. BUT my not so good experience was with the cafe. This 16 oz coffee was 9.38$, which I don't have a problem BUT THEY CHARGED ME 1.25$ FOR VANILLA SYRUP. Once I got the coffee it was too milky and the barista nicely remade it for me after I asked...unfortunately the barista genuinely just remade the same drink than fixing the milk issue and I just kept it. I also tried their chocolate chip, sprinkle cookie, and chocolate cake (not overly sweet). The Dungeness Crab was fresh and sweet, the Cavatelli was rich and perfectly cooked, and the Delta Asparagus Tart was light and flavorful. The Strawberry Bellini was also a refreshing start to the meal. The only dish I didn't enjoy was the Albacore Tuna Crudo -- the sauce was overpowering and didn't let the fish shine. We walked into this place with the high expectation from our experience at The Village Pub in Woodside. Yet our dining experience blown us away. We had light brunch menu on an early Sunday. The Avocado Toast was topped with fresh cut avocados and veggies, as if we were dining at their garden. The gentleman Jesus also suggested something off the menu, Morel Mushroom Omelette (sorry, no photo). The silky smooth omelette was topped with many succulent morel mushrooms. Outstanding.!!!! The crab donuts was also truly remarkable..... ps.. the dough is not fried nor greasy!!! And the blueberry flan is light and sweet.... not as rich as traditional flans... Definitely the best flan we ever had! Thank you.... The only improvement I can recommend is at the Augustine Cafe next door.... Please use a tong to grap the pastries.... The gloves may not be too clean... This was truly one of the best meals I've had. I've been to many nice restaurants, and I honestly didn't have crazy expectations for this place at first. However, once we got our food I was truly blown away. The salmon had me smiling as I was eating it, absolute perfection. Starting with the caviar and kettle chips wasn't cheap, but we got a good amount of caviar for the price and it was great. We then had the salmon tartare and crab donuts. Tartare was delicious, crab donuts were great too but aren't a must have. We got the salad with beets and strawberries to complement the main course and it was amazingly complex and wonderful. The salmon was definitely the star of the show. The inside was cooked to about medium, which is the perfect amount in my opinion. The skin was crispy and delicate, and it perfectly complemented the soft butteriness of the meat of the salmon. We also added an order of fries with black truffle shaved on top, and they were a delightful addition to the meal. We finished with the basque cheesecake and it was sweet and decadent without being overly rich. In addition to the food, the service and atmosphere were also incredible. The restaurant is modern while being intimate and classy. Our server was very attentive and was highly knowledgeable about everything the restaurant had to offer. Ordered a ham and cheese croissant ($7.25) and chai latte ($6.50) -- the croissant was exquisitely flakey, and the chai latte had an impressively smooth microfoam on top. Honestly speaking, this was probably the best croissant I've had in South Bay (and this is coming from a self-proclaimed croissant snob). The mocktail I tried was also recommended by the waitress and that also was pretty good. It was the seasonal fruit spritz with mint. Service was ok for the most part. If I didn't ask for my fries, they would have been forgotten. It's kind of a pet peeve of mine if people don't write orders down and then forget items. Not only does it deflect the tip but can hurt sales for restaurants. Most people would complain and get the item free in return. I decided to just write about it. With the cost of eating out, service should be better with the cost we leave for tips. I still left 20% on top of the 4% living charge for a party of 3. Hopefully they will do better in the future. Review is for brunch. 5 stars just because the pancake and French toast was amazing. Both were unique and delicious. The French toast was super custardy and had a tasty vanilla bean butter. It had a bit too much powdered sugar on it, so next time I'd get it without powdered sugar. The pancake was a single pancake that was baked so it was super tall and fully but dense and cakey at the same time, super unique compared to any other pancake I've had. Definitely try it! The breakfast sandwich had a super unique and fluffy bread that was good, almost like an English muffin but more chewy and slightly crisp edges. The flavor was a bit one note because the ingredients were pretty basic (cheese and egg between the fluffy bread). The flavor of the cheese was good so overall it was a good dish. We also got drip coffee with cream and it was solid, good flavor and hot. The service was very good, our server was always checking in on us and went above and beyond to explain the dishes we were ordering. Waitstaff was consistently refilling drinks as well. Pricing was average for the area and we felt was reasonable given the quality and ambiance. It's a beautiful restaurant and fits quite nicely into the aesthetic that is Santana Row. I recently dined at Augustine for brunch, and unfortunately the service was pretty awful. What should have been a relaxing brunch ended up taking over two hours, mostly because the service was so slow and inattentive. Our waitress took a very long time just to come over and take our order, and after that she barely checked on us at all. Anytime we needed something--whether it was water refills, utensils, or just to ask a question--it felt like we were inconveniencing the staff. They often seemed bothered when we tried to get their attention, which made the whole experience uncomfortable. The food itself was actually decent and came out well-prepared, which is the only reason I'm not giving an even lower rating. But good food can only make up for so much when the overall dining experience is dragged down by poor service. Overall, the rude and inattentive staff made what should have been a nice brunch feel frustrating and drawn out. I hope they work on improving the service, because with better hospitality this place could be much more enjoyable. read more

My friend and I are dinning outside, I got the breakfast special and she got the sausage sandwich. She took a bite and she saw that the sausage inside color was on a pink reddish side, so she immediately thought it was raw. We ask the server to bring it back and cook it well done. Another staff/server went and talk to us saying that the meat has a curing ingredient that is making it have that color, she was polite and nice and we said ok thank you and thank you for that information. Then maybe another 5 min have gone by, another staff/manager member went to us and kind of just butt in and talked to us saying the same thing the female staff/server have told us but this time with attitude. He is the one with receding hair (Maybe you're one of the manager but you are rude and disrespectful.) Again it's our first time trying this place and how would we know that the sausage would have a pink hue on it right? It is not stated on their menu. Dined here on a Friday night, it was super easy to make reservations online. Augustine is a great addition to SRow with classy ambiance that fits the scene. We ordered a good spread and our favorites were the double cut pork chop and veal and Swiss chard cannelloni. Perfectly seasoned and not salty. The portions look a little small in the photos but it was actually very filling. The smashed potatoes were good for a few pieces then started to taste really greasy. The blueberry flan is a must, it's not your typical flan but it was something different and the crust was amazing. Friendly service here and they were good at refilling water and clearing the table but there was only one waiter in our area and he was no where to be found most the night. The tables were a tight snug as people had to squeeze in between tables/chairs to get through which was very awkward. Other than that everything else went smoothly.
