As first timers, we figured our best bet was to order the popular items. Unfortunately, about half the menu was already unavailable by noon! We ended up ordering the Strawberry Green Fresh Milk Tea Daifuku & the Orchid Tie Guan Yin Tea Latte with Cheese Foam and Water Chestnut Boba. The strawberry drink was decent and lightly fruity. My latte came in a paper cup, so I couldn't check the add-ons before leaving. Once we were already on the road... surprise: no cheese foam and no boba! Flavor-wise, the latte itself was strongly floral. Not bad, but without the toppings it felt a bit one-dimensional. One thing I'll give them credit for: the interior looks really nice. Operations seemed a bit rough. We waited 50 minutes for two drinks. There were tons of drinks already lined up, prepped and sealed, but the final step - wiping the cups and calling out numbers - was moving at a painfully slow pace and holding up the entire line. Also, to order, you must use the kiosk. Although convenient, it also means new customers miss out on being able to ask staff for drink recommendations. Between the pricey drinks, long wait times, incomplete drinks with missing add-ons, and half the menu being unavailable, this visit was a huge miss for me. That said, the shop is still pretty new, so there's definitely room for improvement. Hoping they work out the kinks. I just might give them some time before trying again. read more

The multigrain boba drink tasted great. However, my black tea drink tasted just okay. The menu was slightly limited in choices for boba drinks and milk teas. Review Spoiler Alert: This place makes really good tea! I went to Auntea Jenny on its grand opening weekend where they were offered a BOGO drink option. The line at the time was understandably wrapped around the front of the store. However, I've come back to this new Irvine location a couple times now and the store is almost just as busy. The wait can be very long as the staff find a way to be efficient with all the in-person/online orders that they're being flooded with. Inside the store, there are only a couple seats with side tables, but given the long lines/ large crowds, its not really a place to that you can really sit around and hang out for long. As for the drink themselves, Auntea Jenny's tagline is Modern Oriental Tea, and they really do live up to that. During the grand opening weekend, I ordered their Premium Jasmine Tea Latte, White Peach Oolong Tea Latte, Orchid Tie Guan Yin Tea Latte, and the Classic Mango Pomelo Sago. All with 30% sweetness (which is their lowest sweetness level that isn't 0%) except the Mango Pomelo Sago which I got at 0% sweetness. First and foremost, you can actually taste the tea in all the tea drinks which for me is a must. The White Peach Oolong Tea had a great white peach taste without being too sweet and was probably my favorite. For those who are fans of Jasmine tea, the Premium Jasmine tea latte had a good Jasmine tea taste without being overly bitter. The Orchid TGY tea probably had the strong floral tea taste of the 3 which I really liked a lot, but might not be for everyone if they prefer something sweeter. Lastly, the Mango Pomelo Sago had a great Mango flavor for those who like their drinks on the sweeter side. Overall, I don't see the long line or large crowds at Auntea Jenny going away anytime soon :) read more

This place recently opened and it's still a work in progress. The matcha was very flavorful but they got my order wrong initially so it took almost thirty minutes to get my drink. Then when I got my drink, it was still wrong but I had already left (because I wasn't expecting to wait that long). There were a lot of employees working in this small space. Close to ten or more but still it seemed chaotic and that they were still trying to figure out how to make all the drinks. The menu was also limited and didn't have everything on the menu. You ordered at a kiosk and then waited and wait and waited. I'll definitely give them another chance but I might wait a couple months to let them figure it out first. read more

In complete disbelief on how bad this experience was. Completely unorganized and location is poorly managed. Came on a Saturday afternoon and knew it would be busy but did not think that it would be this bad. Starting from long line outside in the sun, just to order on a kiosk which took at least 20 minutes. Then got a text confirming order at 3:11pm and drink finally came out at 4:09pm. So waited nearly an hour for the drink and also an additional 20 minutes prior just to order. The staff are all moving so slow and look very confused. So many people going up to the counter to check on their drinks and complain. They were so unorganized and were not calling out numbers and don't even keep up with the numbers ready on the board. You find out if yours is ready by waiting near the counter and asking. Lot of online orders also had to get filled to make the wait even longer. To add to the chaos, there was no AC and so many people waiting inside so it was incredibly hot inside. When we left, there was a worker turning people away to come back at 6:30pm instead. Probably to have a meeting and figure out how to do things better and train the staff. Got the mango pomelo drink which was decent, but not worth waiting well over an hour. I'm glad that I didn't get their "recommended" 70% sweet for their jasmine tea latte. It was still sweet enough at 50, but that's just a preference thing. The issue is the chaos and wait. Despite having ordered online, I waited an hour to get my drinks. Since the online ordering system gives no time estimate, there's no way to time it, unless you want your drinks sitting around. Other boba shops, even at their peak, never came close to an hour wait. It's also super chaotic. When I first checked in to see if my drinks were ready, they sent me to check at another counter for to go drinks, when I had already been waiting to ask. Then when they finally called my number, I went to the online ordering counter, only to be sent to the original counter. I want to clarify that this review isn't about the drinks themselves, but about the operations during a recent promotion. They were running a BOGO deal, and I ended up waiting over two hours for my drinks. Initially, there was only one main cash register open, which created a significant bottleneck given the volume of customers. Like wow what a perfectly balanced milk tea and the taro and mochi were so soft and silky inside, it was a pleasure to have! No modifications for an initial trial, and it wasn't too sweet at the standard 70% recommended level. Definitely worth having. However, the wait time from ordering at the kiosk to receiving the beverage was truly horrible. The store was slammed and I'm sure the online order system was the main cause of the backlog. All the employees were hustling and not slacking at all, yet they were buried in hundreds of orders. From the time I put in my order around 6pm on this insane Sunday, to when the order was fulfilled and I received a text that my drink was ready, about 1 hour and 15 minutes elapsed. Not great. My tip: wait until the hype dies down if you don't want to physically wait in line.
