Decided to pick up a late lunch at the eastridge shopping center on a Sunday afternoon, and there were hardly any waits at Auntie Anne's, the display case well stocked with pretzel dogs, nuggets, and cinnamon sugar treats (note, I've visited the last hour before closing time on another day, and the display case looked very empty, barely any choices, so unfortunately timing can impact your selection and experience). I opted for the pepperoni and jalapeno pretzel during my recent visit, and was delightfully surprised as it turned out to be one of the best pretzels I've ever had. Light and fluffy inside, a nice crunch on the outside (crispy cheese!), and tasty jalapeno and pepperoni toppings creating such a delectable savory snack. Love the pretzels here! They're mostly always warm and tasty whish really do well for my stomach! Usually there's 1-2 staff in the vicinity however the lines are never long- which is a huge plus for a hungry customer! On the other side, the pretzels weren't all perfect this trip. I purchased a pizza pretzel for my sister and they gave us a burnt one :/ We're normally not ones to complain- however the burnt taste was far too strong to ignore. Haven't had a mall pretzel in a while, and had that sudden craving. I used to get a nice fluffy pretzel with some mustard pouches thrown in here. After the initial sticker shock - almost $8 for the pretzel and dip extra for something around $1.50 - I got a shriveled up, dehydrated looking pretzel that tasted like toasted dust...no mustard cause I did not shell out the extra money. Horrible example of a greedy company jacking up the price and giving less for more. Quality has definitely gone downhill while the prices have gone up. The pretzels at Auntie Anne's aren't as thick and fluffy as they used to be, and they don't bring out fresh batches regularly. Most of their pretzels on display are also burnt. Though the pretzel itself still tastes good, I was left with an unpleasant, bitter aftertaste because of how charred the bottoms were. The plus about this location is that they do a "buy three, get one free" deal which the Valley Fair location stopped doing. My daughter enjoys pretzels. I don't think she can distinguish between Auntie Anne's and Wetzel's Pretzels but what do I know? I can't speak on her behalf. I am not a pretzel girl, well if it's there then I'll definitely eat it but my choice for a snack at the mall is always something in the chocolate department. I remember this day down to the T; I got to the mall after the gym, after the temple, and after grocery shopping at Sprouts (trying to be healthy) but I stole a bite out of my daughter's pretzel sticks (cinnamon) and indeed it was buttery, doughy, and cinnamony.. I gave 2-3 to my monster to keep him occupied whilst I was at Daiso and Noonie's (yes, I had a cupcake for "breakfast") since I didn't technically have breakfast nor lunch yet and it was after noon. What I like about Auntie Anne's is that you can see how the pretezels are prepped, prepared, and baked. Staff wear gloves so there's a slim chance of getting things contaminated which brings me to an interesting Yelp fact from Bloomberg; that Yelp will add health inspection scores. The objective is to promote "public well being". The great thing is that the Bay Area and New York City will start to implement this and that means us! If you do not have a sweet tooth like myself then I congratulate you as you may have saved yourself at least 20-30 minutes of rigorous cardio at the gym but these pretzels are just as deadly, w/o the sugar spike. P.S. They sell Auntie Anne's pretzel kits at Bed, Bath, and Beyond (and I bought it) but I saw those kits there, too so I'm not sure if they are selling it or baking it from the kit. read more

Customer service is always lacking at this location. Two employees in particular have made it very clear to me that they do not care about the business. I don't know how the company treats their staff, but it must be pretty horrible based on how awful their attitudes are towards the establishment. Watch out for the following: Janet. You have an attitude of a teenager with way too many hormones. If I ask for another pretzel because you gave me a burnt one, the proper response isn't to glare at me and toss the pretzel back into the case. First of all, that is not sanitary as I have already touched the pretzel and you are going to try to sell it to an unsuspecting customer. Secondly, if I am paying $3.99 for some baked dough, I would expect that you would have some respect to the food and your customers. Then when giving me the replacement, it probably isn't much of a good idea to toss the item on the counter and walk away. Doesn't really show that you care. And lastly, rolling your eyes at me and glaring at me as I leave the stand isn't welcoming me to come back. Jason. You're not as bad as Janet but definitely need a bit of training. The proper response to me asking for 8 pretzels on $2 Tuesday isn't "holy crap." I can't believe that's the first thing you would say. But I get it, ordering 8 pretzels all at once probably is out of the ordinary, so I'll accept the humor. But, honestly you're kind of gross. As I'm handing over my credit card, is it really necessary to use your apron to wipe off sweat from your entire face. You're handling my food and I don't need your sweat on it! I get that it's hot in there because of the ovens, but dang. I never thought I'd see the day when I experience bad service from not only one Auntie Anne's, but two Auntie Anne's in the same mall. The first Auntie Anne's I visited was the one in a booth on the east side of the mall. The lady working in the booth was not only unwelcoming, but she seemed preoccupied cleaning the booth rather than serving the customers. I guess I could understand assuming she was the only one working there. When it was finally my turn, I wanted to use a coupon code, and to her knowledge, she was unable to figure out how to do it and pointed me towards the actual Auntie Anne's store in the mall. When I went to the actual Auntie Anne's booth, the cashiers/employees looked extremely bitter and annoyed for no obvious reason and informed us that their "Wifi was down and couldn't input any rewards" although the other booth was able to still enter said information. Came here to redeem the t-mobile freebies after we got disappointed by the YEE Hellaween event. After placing the order, I was told it's going to be ready in about 10min. After about 10min, they asked me if I'm waiting for something? I said I ordered cinnamon sugar pretzel. They were exchanging glances, asked around and then told me it's gonna be another 10 min. I said that's what you told me before. They said yeah,it's not ready yet. I asked if I can just grab the cut ones (I think they Called it pretzel nuggets instead) but they insisted that they can't give that instead because it's more expensive. Hope the corporate sees this review. I bought a mini pretzel dog from this location today. The lady who helped me didnt greet me nor smile nor say thank you after the transaction. But most importantly, she gave me my change with her dirty gloves, full of sugar/cinnamon. This is the closet location to my house and I never have any problems but the lines are always long. I would think about pretzels every now and then and would drive here just to get some. I love this place and every Auntie Anne's that I have gone too. In fact, their email spam and cool stamp cards have saved me money and has gotten me free pretzels from them. I love Auntie Anne's! I've been so bummed out because their Gilroy location has been temporarily closed since forever, and yesterday was the first time in ages that I was finally able to enjoy some of their pretzels. This location was short staffed yesterday so they only had pretzel bites available while they worked on making their usual array of pretzels, which was totally fine by me cause to be honest I just wanted some kind of pretzel from them. I ordered their cinnamon pretzel bites for my sister and the regular salted pretzel bites for me and my mom. Those damn pretzel bites are deadly, but not in a bad way, in literally the best way possible. It's one of those things that once you start munching on you just can't stop, and surprisingly enough there was a good amount of pretzel bites filled in the cup they give you. I Love soft, overpriced, pretzels. Every time I go into a mall the sweet smell of soft pretzels slow baking makes my mouth water. I uncontrollably have to have one, or a baker's dozen. I did notice they stopped pre-drizzling the glazed raisin, now it is just the dipped raisin. All in all I recommend this place to anyone who even remotely likes soft baked pretzels. read more

I really like Auntie Anne's almond pretzel, the texture and sweetness is just right! But if you want something sweeter, try Wetzel's Pretzels almond crunch, it's definitely sweeter. The pretzels are well made but the customer service is why Im giving this place 1 star. Not all the workers are rude just 1 in particular cant seem to get her attitude right when it comes to helping a customer. I recieved unneccessary attitude from Janet who apparently is the "Shift Leader" and I never write reviews but with how snappy she is I just felt the need. An incident occured today. I had a coupon for bogo free pretzel and I made my order w/ Janet since she was at the register and as Im about to hand her my card and the coupon she makes a remark, "Are you going to give me a coupon? You were supposed to do that at the beginning." I was shocked at how rude this girl was. How was I suppose to know I had to give the coupon beforehand? Does it matter that much? It wasnt the first time I used a coupon there and each time the other employees were fine with me handing it to them after. Maybe this comes off to be not that big of a deal to some but I cant deal with rude people who feel the need to snap at customers for no reason. Overall, Im done coming here.
