First time I have actually been here since the fire and the rebuild. I really like the look of the location and the nice size patio. A lot of tvs for the Sports Enthusiast. The service was a little slow, not being crowded tonight. I just went and ordered from the bar instead, never was waited on by a server, but the bartenders were happy to take my money. Nice Dart Board Setup, will have to come back and play. Descent number of pool tables. I can see a lot of groups using the patio area. They are setup for that. I've been a regular for many years but losing my enthusiasm quickly. The last five times I have been there the service in the bar section was unbelievably bad. The manager wanders around flirting with the girls and doing very little else. In the food area the servers are good but overworked. The food quality seems to be diminishing but hopefully will improve. I'll keep going but not sure for how long with the treatment you receive when you're there. read more

And I don't use the word "hate" loosely.  Please reconsider going to Austin's Ave for a Packer game.  My friend (a Bears fan) and I (a Packers fan) went to Austin's Ave to watch the game. I waited 20 min, but a waiter never came to the table so I went to the bar to get a drink. I thought the bartenders were joking when they said, "We don't serve Packer fans."  The bartenders looked at each other and said, "Which one wants to serve her."  I laughed it off.  Awhile later, we had 4 people at our table, I being the only Packer Fan.  The waiter asked the 3 others for their order and walked away. I called them back saying they skipped me and the waiter rudely said, "What do you want." The waiter refilled everyone's water and then skipped my glass. I called them back to the table for water and they kept walking away...never got a water refill.   There was 1 other table that had Packer Fans.  Those fans asked us if we were being served and we said, "NO!"  He said, "Same here. They won't serve Packer fans." My Bears Fan friend was furious how they were treating Packer fans so she immediately wrote a negative review about the service.   I hope you will reconsider going here unless you enjoy discrimination!   I walked away with a PACKER WIN so I consider that justice ;-) read more

2nd time visiting, 1st time visiting on a sports Sunday after 20 minutes of the game coming on a customer fell backwards and hit his head on the concrete ground out on the patio, myself and 3 other customers helped the customer, keeping him conscious and alert until the ambulance arrived. The owner and 2 waitresses stood on the side and watched. I decided to go back and give this place a 2nd try, I thought maybe it was just a bad Sunday.. 2nd visit, arrived 20 minutes before the game, I asked 3 tables that had single empty seats could I sit and they all replied someone's coming so I stood at the bar, a nice man grabbed me a stool from the bar and sat it at the bar, I was happy I just wanted to watch the game. Then a manager (lady) comes over to me and says they said you need a seat(I'm already sitting) I said "a nice guy got me a seat, thanks) she then left and came back with another guy saying he's a president of the sports club you can sit with him I said no thanks I'm fine here, she tells him "oh well I can't make her happy" I'm confused because I already had a seat. I ordered a margarita and a turkey club sandwich, received my drink within minutes which was good and cold after 20 minutes my food is handed to me, I gave it back to the bartender, it wasn't the sandwich I ordered and the plate was also dirty with wing sauce and other food stains on it. I told her this isn't what I ordered and the plate is dirty. I said that's okay, I'll just have this drink. Another server says I'll make it for you myself, I'm so sorry I said okay, she left and came back and said the manager said I couldn't because of a seat issue with you earlier. I couldn't believe it, I got up and went and spoke to the owner/president whom was watching the game also. I started to tell him about my experience and the dirty plate that my food was served to me on but the manager (lady) came and whispered in his ear and then that's when this man started yelling and balling up his fist and said" I have over 500 people in here, do you want me to go to the back and ask for a special order only for you!" I said no I only asked for a clean plate with my food on it. He then he proceeded to tell me to go to other places where there is no customers like Buffalo Wild Wings or twin peaks but he has to many people to worry about one. I paid for the margarita and left. I will NEVER go back and no I do Not recommend this place to anyone. The manager should be ashamed which I'm sure she's not, none of these people never even apologized for serving me food on a dirty dish. The President/Owner was so RUDE, DISRESPECTFUL, and frankly did not care at all of the experience I was having in his establishment. He actually added to it. This place is not only a liability but it's also unsanitary. You can be open 15 or 20 years and have the same reserved customers come but to treat and speak disrespectful and aggressive towards a customer after your staff served them food on dirty dishes tells me you should undergo some classes and courses or shut down.... Service started out poorly, no one to greet at host stand, had to go to the restroom, they were pretty clean, restaurant was kinda empty so we just walked in till we got to tables. As soon as a server angel noticed us she said just sit there and pointed to a direct of a table. She came over and put menus down and got the drink order. As soon as she got our drink order she turned to walk away. I open went to tell her we had never been to the restaurant before and asked what was good, as she was walking away she called out the raging Cajun pasta. Then after we got our food which she (angel) didn't even bring to us, angel brought out the vacuum and started vacuuming her area. The food was okay but I could've made the same thing at home. Usually top notch with great service, and great sports coverage with all the ESPN channels. But today was a ZERO star day with the reputed "Owners Wife" calling the shots with less than rude service. Came into the north room and asked if both baseball games could be shown on one wall. They flipped the Rangers Whitesox game on the one monitor that had the other game I was watching at 11:30am. Couldn't get there attention on it so I went to the gaming side of the where both games were playing. Then the reputed managers wife came over to switch off the 2nd game. When I asked her to not do that I was asked to leave. Jesus. Why have Extra Innings if you won't let people watch it. Usually this place is top notch but today insanity ruled. Caught the rest at The Franchise sports bar. I spend $90/mo three days watching MLB at Austin Ave. Today was the most bizarre game day I ever had. If I can give a zero, I would. This place is poorly managed and the service is horrendous. You almost have to tackle a waitstaff to get any type of service, and none of them will make any eye contact with you, which is on purpose so they can avoid serving you. And the food is average at best. The best thing about this place is that they serve cold beer, but good luck getting that served to you in a timely manner. Plano's "finest" frequent this place. AVOID this place. We came in and the three ladies on the desk just looked at us and said . . . "it's open seating," not even bothering to direct us to the correct side of the restaurant. The Waffle fries Nachos were so over cooked they were desicated, and when my wife's soup came it was so salty, she couldn't eat it. My burger was well cooked but the amendments ( bacon, etc.) were over cooked and cold. Later we asked for a set of darts to go over to the bar side of the restaurant and shoot some darts, we were told the one (one!) set of darts they had were already in use and we couldn't play. When we went over to the bar side to check it out, the darting lanes were dark - not even lit - oh, by the way, no one was playing. As we turned to leave, we noticed that few of the pool tables were in use either. Did I mention that this was a Friday night? This should of been a "happening place," but it just seemed like yet another venue that had outlived it usefullness and was on its way to chapter 11. If you want a nice sports bar to go to and shoot some pool or play some darts and have a beer avoid this place, they are on their way out and the attitude of the staff confirms it. Although I am often in the area, I will never pass through their door again . . . if you want decent service, quality food, and a proper venue for darts or pool, you are going to have to look elsewhere - this place is not it! This is the first time I have been to this place to eat since the first one burned down, and I have to say I am not impressed. I used to be a regular back then with an ex and karaoke every time they had karaoke with Beaker, and my absolute favorite meal here was the avocado burger plate, which is not on the menu, and I'm not interested in "build your own" We came in and sat down with only being greeted by the "hostess" who looked peeved (and very young). She wouldn't even have said anything if we didn't engage though, and we sat waiting for a server to at least greet us for about 15-20 min. 10 years ago this crap NEVER would've been like this. I miss Shane. He was the best server this place ever had. Our server finally came and her demeanor was no better than the hostess girl. I'm so disappointed in my first visit back. We sat at the bar and there were 2 girls at the jukebox playing music.....I didn't know there were so many songs with the N word in it along with gratuitous profanity. Man...I've been coming here for years...since before the rebuild from the fire in 2010. The food has always been good pub food, but this place has gone to hell in a hand-basket. We went on a Friday night, and none of the staff looked familiar - I guess they're having some major turnover issues, and I'm guessing it's because management sucks. Between poor (nonexistent) service, the manager changing our jukebox selections (we paid for them and watched him change them on his iPad...twice), opening the doors to let all the patio smoke flood the inside eating areas, no monitoring of mask wearing (by staff and customers alike), and the manager sitting on his butt while watching wait staff bicker about tips with each other in front of customers, we're not going back anytime soon. It's sad, really. This was our go-to for watching football games. I'll be shocked if this place will survive much longer. Two words of advice for the owner to read: NEW MANAGEMENT read more

The bartenders are actually the most squirrely bartenders there has ever been. Not only will they mess up an order of wings (I ordered buffalo received lemon pepper) but when they "corrected" it, they literally just tossed the wrong wings in the buffalo sauce. Well, this time wasn't as good as the other visits. It seems on Sundays during the NFL season, AA basically rents out their larger rooms to Pittsburgh and Washington fans. Leaving a very small area for any Dallas or other team fans to watch their games. The outdoor patio was available, but you can smoke there and of course, they were also on the Steeler game. So we didn't stay. This isn't on their website, which is why the low rating for this visit. I have no doubt on other days/times, that AA will get back to their usual 4-5 star efforts. Just not for Sundays during NFL season....unless you show up more than 30 minutes before kickoff. read more

Although it took for-ev-er for Austin Avenue to rebuild, once they finally got underway they did it right. It's significantly larger than the old place and doesn't really feel like a dive bar, the way the old Austin Avenue did. There are several areas for groups - this place is designed to serve large crowds. The happy hour specials are amazing (talk about some cheap alcohol) so you'd be wise to plan to order food. The food service, unfortunately, is a little uneven and this may depend on your wait staff. One odd thing - the entry doors are sliding glass (like grocery store auto open style). It's...different! All in all - this is a good place for a large group happy hour but it doesn't have as much intimacy and personality as I'd like to add as one of my regular places. read more

I used to come here quite a bit when I dated someone who lived in Plano, and I remember it being a casual pool hall/bar that's always crowded...no matter the day of the week. Last week I met a few girlfriends in Plano for dinner, and after their hubbies picked up the babies from us, we decided to go out and let our hair down...after all, they rarely get time away from the kiddos! They suggested Austin Avenue - the memories of being here in the past flooded me when I opened the door. Ahhh, yes. Draft beer, smoke and pool. Now there's no smoke (THANK YOU smoking ban!), but the place hadn't changed one bit. We went into the area that doesn't have pool tables, up near the bar and grabbed a table. There was only one other table occupied, so it gave us a chance to chat and catch up in peace. We sat there for a few minutes, looking around and wondering if this side of the bar was closed and no one told us. After 5-6 minutes, a girl sitting at the occupied table looked up at us and realized we didn't have drinks...SHE was the bartender! I mean, I know it's slow, but really?!? The beer was cheap, but nothing is special about this place. The bartender was off and on with customer service while we were there, so we left after an hour and a half or so and called it a night. I can see how it would be a great neighborhood bar if you live close, but if it's a drive...not worth it in my opinion. read more

When I drive 30 minutes to get to a place and strive to get there in time to catch the end of happy hour, I expect that place to honor their published happy hour. I walked to the bar with 8 minutes to spare on the happy hour - all of my clocks and phones are synched to the atomic time clock. Yet the "bartender" said it was already past time. I looked at her increduously and showed her my phone and she said her clock said it was past and she walked away. That's never happened at other establishments to me, ever. In fact, most places will give me a little leniency and often stretch happy hour a few minutes. The other night, I went to a bar where it was over an hour past the end of their happy hour and they still honored it. I'm not suggesting Austin Avenue do that, I'm just suggesting they actually FIX their clocks and TRAIN their staff on SERVICE. This is the most ridiculous experience I've ever had at a restaurant. Long story short, two families, table of 9, 5 hungry kids. We ordered appetizers. When the appetizers came, the server took our food order. Then we waited, for 30 minutes. In the mean time we watched the server her check on other tables, check her phone, etc. When we finally got the server's attention and asked her to check on it, she realized she hadn't actually entered our order. We spoke to the manager (Karen style yes), that got things rolling, our orders came (about an hour in at this point), however our server didn't check on us again for a good while. But the worst part is when we got the check, they had added the 20% gratuity. Baffled at this, we asked for the manager again. When he came to our table we asked him to remove the 20% gratuity which, in this case, we didn't feel was warranted. He didn't want to do that at all and argued with us about it (table of 9 etc). The manager then got all pissed off, proceeded to accuse us of cursing at him (which we absolutely did not do), and stormed off. No apology from the manager. We have been fairly regular customers to this place for a few years now (at least since it was rebuilt), and we won't be going back. To the owners of this place, tips are based on service, not something to be taken for granted, or demanded. Also, your management is loosing you customers. read more

Booked this venue for a retirement party weeks in advance and when we went to look at it we questioned where they were placing us bc it was right in front of the Jumbo TV. We suggested a different area so we would disturb the TV View. We specifically asked could we utilize balloons in this area and were told absolutely. We get there on Friday the 19th which of course happened to be during the Ranger Game and they told us we could not put the balloons up at the tables bc it would block the TV. Which meant the balloons were put in corners to the side and not near the cake and party area. A woman walked up and said she was the owner and I was explaining we had this booked for weeks and were told we could bring the balloons, otherwise we would have either picked a different venue or chose to not spend money on balloons. She proceeded to tell me to don't get attitude with her which I wasn't and that Bruce shouldn't have allowed us to have the party in this location. She then proceeded to tell us we could go somewhere else after we had already setup and had 30+ guests on the way. I would CAUTION anyone booking an event at this establishment. This woman was very rude and unprofessional and it appeared like her staff felt terrible but had to go along with what she said. Very disappointed in how we were treated. read more

I'd give it 5 stars, but they seemed to be short staffed on Sunday. We were a party of 6 and we sat in the bar area. The food was fresh, the cost was competitive and not outrageously priced. We had collectively, Santa fe salad, potato skins, hot wings, bacon cheese burger, buffalo chicken sandwich, several pasta dishes, and I think another sandwich of some sort. Went with 2 friends both 21+ one was from New Jersey and the waiter called his ID a fake and denied service but said you can try the bar but I can not serve you. My friend then went to the bar and they served him BECAUSE HE HAS A REAL ID. The waiter told the manager he wasn't of age and he was kicked out. Nice mix of people age wise so that was nice considering we had a group of 7 ranging from 21 to 70 and no one was uncomfortable. I have to say the drinks here are interesting. A group of 6 of us went for a UFC fight. $5 cover and they add an automatic 20% tip to all checks. We got a table outside and it was they last open table we could get. The screen outside is big but the speakers were awful. We had no idea what was being said the whole night. The outside area was way understaffed. We would have ordered a lot more if a waitress came by. I did order green bean fries that were good. I know fight night is a busy night which makes the staff get stressed out but they werent very friendly. I only had 1 female bartender with dark hair that was really nice and made me feel welcome. A tattoo and leather biker bar with sprinkling of corporate joes. The outside of the building is new and attractive, but interior is sorta bland. Shockingly interior was absolutely smoke free. Very large and expansive but flat and boring. Too many tables, not enough booths. Reminded me of a version of Buffalo Wild Wings - not any character. The DO have some pinball, row of dart boards and 4 pool tables and a cool patio. These are all positive. Most important on busy Thur night, service was great at bar and table. Selection of beers is limited to basic traditional domestics and handful of others - this is not craft beer paradise and not the hipster place to be with your dog. A HUGE concern is the biker bar setup. The patio (best feature of this bar) was filled to brim with bike "clubs". So it looked like we were infiltrating their clubhouse at Sons of Anarchy. The owner I hear is active member of one, so this bar will forever be limited to a place regular non bikers will likely avoid. I am big believer in Jon Taffer's bar rescue assessment: a bike bar never brings income that it should. read more

This place is broken up into three sections. Inside for eating, inside for drinking, and outside mostly covered patio. One of the positives is that's it's open and it hosts UFC fights and games. It never seems to be too crowded and depending on your mood one of the three sections will suit you. The location is random but I am sure that the people in central Plano appreciate it. Parking is always available. Food is mediocre but the bar area is pretty big with lots of bar keeps. You won't ever stand there for longer than a minute to refill. I've got two complaints about this place: I can drink the same amount of beer at this place than I would at other bars and I feel EXTRA hung over. My buddy and I think it's dirty keg lines, possibly high levels of CO2 in kegs, or possibly that they aren't washing glasses correctly. Also, on fight nights they charge 20% extra on your tab. On a 100 tab that's an extra 20.00. Seems a little excessive though I know it's a common practice. Overall it's nothing special. I say give it a shot and see what you think about it. read more

The waitress' are very slow as we made multiple trips to the bar to acquire our own drinks. We ordered the chicken quesadilla mild hot wings and garlic parmesan wings. Chicken Quesadilla...Good. Plenty of grilled onions which gave the grilled chicken a delicious flavor. Hot wings... Decent flavor. Could be tossed more in the mild sauce. G.Parm... Horrible. Didn't taste any garlic, the Parmesan cheese was melted onto the wings. Instead of being tossed in granted Parmesan. A waste of $9.00 The atmosphere was nice, by the guest who were there not provided by the bar. They could use a better sound system as the music from the juke box is hard to hear on the patio. This place is an interesting melting pot of all ages and races. I love the diverse customer base here. This is, first and foremost, a bar for UFC fights. They have a huge crowd of UFC fans that loyally come out and watch the fights. Everyone is knowledgeable behind the bar about the fights as well. I have watched NBA playoff games, MLB games, and NFL games at this bar. every experience was slightly above average, but it's consistent. I've never had an issue with a tab being totaled wrong, or a drink being watered down.... in fact the opposite, they heavy pour here, and I have had to take an uber home more than once. I like the place, I don't LOVE it, but I am never left disappointed when I visit Austin Avenue. read more
