I decided to come here to get something to eat. I tried the Chicken Mozzarella sandwich. The bead is Penni and the bread is dry, so it's dry bread, cheese, stewed tomatoes with a tiny bit of sprinkled rosemary, and dry bread. No flavor! It is so disappointing. It was not worth the price. Some kind of flavor sauce would be nice on the bread. The chicken could be flavored. What a great place for breakfast! I'm a tea drinker and it's not often that you find a specialty tea house! Today I had the chocolate mint cappu-tea-no and it did not disappoint! This hot tea beverage is creamy and delightful. They make this in house as a signature blend so it is not available in loose tea form. But that's okay with me! My husband had the regular coffee of the day and he chose the Mexican coffee blend. It was so delicious that he didn't even add sugar or creamer! He said it was magnifico all by itself! I was super excited to try out this place! The menu looked delicious so I decided to give it a go. I ordered the sweet potato hash bowl which was pretty yummy. The potatoes where slightly underdone but the overall taste was good. My biggest complaint is the wait. I waited 20 minutes to get my tea. There were only 2 tables and people who ordered AFTER me where getting their drinks first. I would understand if the place was packed but since it wasn't it was a big disappointment. UPDATE: spoke with the owner personally, she was extremely apologetic and genuinely cares about providing a great service to all customers. This morning, my Wife & I visited Austin Tea Exchange for breakfast. Ordered two Quiche Lorraine with salads, two lattes, and a zucchini muffin. While waiting for the Lorraines, we muched away on a very fresh muffin that tasted oh so good. The lattes arrived and went great with the muffin. The Lorraines were taken to go. Upon starting to eat them at home, we literally looked at each other and went "Oh My"....they were so good that we cannot wait to go back. The salads we got with them are in the fridge and we will eat those later. What a great experience! I've been a fan of Austin Tea Xchange - their food and coffee/tea drinks are delicious. However, I was made aware they have not been truthful about the contents of their lattes, and am extremely disappointed. After frequenting ATX for more than six months, I was made aware yesterday they do not carry nonfat milk. I've asked for nonfat milk every time I've ordered a latte (usually twice or three times a week), and each time have been given what the staff told me was a nonfat latte. My mother had the same experience. Yesterday, the woman helping me indicated ATX has not carried nonfat milk in the time she's worked there - at minimum for the last three months. No truth, no trust, no business. I'm really disappointed since I am supporting local businesses and enjoyed this one until I found this out they were not honest about the contents of their food/drinks. read more
