My husband and I love every pastry we have gotten from Jo Jo's and only buy our sourdough bread from here. Then for his 48th birthday I ordered the chocolate pecan cake. Ten out of ten! Let me just say my husband is bougie picky type A and he said it was THE BEST cake he's ever had. I agree, it was delicious!Don't sleep on Jo Jo's. This place is legit.

Don't stack the rolls and ruin them.

The place has amazing baked goods. However today, we ordered six cinnamon rolls and only got 5. I understand mistakes can happen, but then she stacks 3 rolls on two, ruining the rolls underneath. Why? To save a box? Absolutely amazing bakery but this is really frustrating when 3 out of 6 rolls are missing or pressed down. The food is great so please, please improve the service so you keep growing.

Had a very special moment with a cinnamon roll at Jojo's. It was DELICIOUS! Great environment (super cute decor) and the staff was incredibly sweet. 10/10 recommend

Gruyère rosemary scone, cinnamon roll and ham & cheese croissant

Austin has tons of great bakeries. This is hands down my favorite. Vibe is really unique too with a porch in front and plenty of table space. I'm shocked there's not a line out the door with how good their pastry is.

Cinnamon roll and ham and cheese croissant

Walking into this homey bakery felt like stepping into a neighborhood European bakery with soothing aromas and a display case of beautiful sweet and savory selections. The staff encouraged me through making tough choices. The ham and cheese as well as the chocolate croissants were delicious as were the cinnamon roll and savory scone. Will be back when in Austin!

"I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream"...so the saying goes. I decided to meet a friend that lives downtown Austin for some ice cream at the The Baked Bear, a frequent hang out spot for her and my first visit. The Baked Bear is located in the Seaholm complex between Cesar Chavez and 3rd Streets near West Avenue. After a couple of samples, I decided on Blackberry Crumble. Our server was so sweet and kind including suggesting some of the shop's favorites. OMG the ice cream was so smooth...so flavorful...so absolutely delicious to eat. Interestingly, the ice cream was reasonably priced. It was great cooling off and enjoying catching up with my friend.

I prefer the mini but they're sold out a lot which shows you how spectacular this place is. My go to is the nutty valentine. The donut is always warm, fresh, and crispy. And the toppings of Nutella, cinnamon, and strawberries adds dimension & the perfect story. There is plenty of patio seating and lots of parking outside. There can be a line on the weekends and they tend to sell out so keep that in mind. The staff is friendly and service is quick!

When we went our choices were $9-$10 donut base desserts. I say base because the toppings cover up the donut visually. Despite that, there's no covering that scrumptious taste and texture. Wowaweea. Yes, you feel your cells expand and pants tighten and it is for sure run club pre and post, but quite worth it. These divine donuts have that cakey interior I love so much. We had the Puddin': cream cheese icing, vanilla pudding, fresh bananas with nilla wafers. According to the menu. Ours didn't have any nilla wafers and the presentation was uneven, hence the four stars. I didn't miss the wafers. The icing and pudding were one goopy topping and the bananas slices were half scattered slices and half banana chunk that I had to separate. Side notes: Gourdough sits on a corner with parking spots that are not free. There's a pay via QR code so you'll need a phone or something to scan that. Boo for digital shackles. Next note- I feel like this is a low key meet up spot. Like the way they tried to make the first train cars on the MTA the singles car? There was a series of singles getting doughnuts and they were a little done up for the occasion. Who knows. With the little IG ready love seats and doughnuts made for sharing, you could walk away with extra sugar.

Even so, the ambience seems like the decorations were cute, but very cheap and damaged overtime with little to no repairs. But I didn't come here for aesthetics. I came here for great Boba tea and sweet treats. Unfortunately, I was disappointed. What looked like a traditional milk toast dessert, was literally four pieces of stale bread, toasted and stacked on top of each other. that tasted freezer burnt with lots of sauce on top. No topping between each layer so it was not flavorful or tasty and all you could taste was a weird chemical flavor from the bread. Same thing with the ice cream, so freezer burnt that it tasted of chemicals, cardboard, and didn't even melt despite sitting on the plate for 15+ minutes. The Taro tea itself was fine with the crème brûlée topping, but the brown sugar Boba had the same chemical "going bad" flavor to it. It was super hard and bitter tasting instead of sweet. The soufflé pancakes were fine, but the ice cream was terrible on that too. It's hard to mess up Ice Cream, but somehow they managed.

The cheesecake shop is located on N. Lamar in Crescent Plaza and focuses on takeout rather than dine-in service. I ordered their signature Japanese cheesecake, and it was delicious. Unlike traditional dense cheesecake, it was incredibly light, fluffy, and airy, with just the right amount of sweetness. The cheesecake featured a thin, creamy top layer that paired nicely with the soft, cloud-like texture underneath. Each bite melted in my mouth, making it unlike any cheesecake I have had before. It was both unique and completely satisfying. The shop itself is small and designed primarily for grab-and-go customers, with no seating area available.
