Love that this couple refinished a camper and started their own business! They make a mean panini and smoothie. We happened upon this place while visiting Austin, and were even more excited when we saw that there was a bonus dog park attached to it! Cool people, great food, and right off the lake for you to take a walk before or after you finish your Rye Bread Bar Nosh. What I also loved is that all the food trucks that are located here promote and support one another--definitely a community vibe.

This is my new favorite beverage bar on the trail. The attention to detail is insane. Handmade, crafted, natural, and beautiful drinks. Yes, that is a pineapple slushy topped mocktail with a raspberry rosemary twist. The drinks are a large portion too. The smoothy was very filling and just sweet enough so that every fruit shined. This is not your average food truck. Everything this duo does is well thought out and passionate! See y'all soon as this is now a must-stop for meeeee!

I got to meet the couple who started this back when they were setting up on SoLa. What a cute story of their life and their passion for bringing people their talents. They then moved to Riverside and business was booming they said, given lunchtime orders from the wfh folks around here. I'm sad they're temporarily closed and sure hope they return soon. I love their cheerful demeanor, their attention to detail, and their enthusiasm for serving up great food. read more

I would like to start with an apology, I have not done the review but I think about you every day. I was so excited to share your location with so many people which I have done by word-of-mouth but let me get yelp updated with this fine dining. With any service there it's expectation however the owners of the Rye bread bar, are so friendly and kind. I had a great time converting with them as they attend it to my yummy questions (I kind of wanted a little bit of everything). If you are looking for a new place to eat, something fresh, great conversation, lovely food, and a wonderful experience in our city of Austin, please visit the Rye bread bar. My boyfriend took me here for our first date one year ago. On our anniversary last week, we decided to come back. We LOVE the Rye Bread Bar! We loved the service. Absolutely superb. We both love having food that fuels us and doesn't leave us feeling bloated. Parking: a bit tricky. Not a lottttt of spots since the food truck is parked behind a set of apartments. Ambiance: super duper chill. Great location due to the lake being right next to it. We took a long walk after lunch. It's beautiful! Food: excellent! 10/10! We love the owners and they have the coolest attitudes. They've taken a break from service but will be back in a couple of months. Sooo sad! But we're so glad we caught them before they took off. Amazing story of how the couple met, started this little place and found their way to Austin. The smoothies are all mixed with super fresh fruit without a lot of additives - really tasty. Crepes look and smell amazing but I haven't had the chance to have one of these yet. Will need to come back and get a few of them (savory and and sweet). Super happy we chose here to grab some food and smoothies post paddle boarding on the river on Easter. Couple it's super sweet. My youngest daughter chose the kiss smoothie and it's absolutely delicious. My older daughter and I chose a couple of vegetarian friendly Panini sandwiches. This place is amazing! Best spicy margarita I've ever had. They make an orange juice, passion fruit Fresno chili granita to put on top of their freshly made margarita. It's sooo good. They just moved locations to East Austin, and I got a chance to meet the couple who owns the truck. LOVELY humans to say the least. My boyfriend got a crepe and it was so fresh and delicious. Immediately after, he wanted to go back and get another. I've been dying to try their paninis and fresh made juices (the mint looks yummy). Everyone should go here! Oh my goodness, the potato salad is amazing! It's light and super flavorful and they often sell out - so go early! my favorite sandwich is the pressed turkey, and my husband loves the avocado one. Everything they make is delicious. It's in a cute little park with a couple other food trucks, and a restored cable car with beautiful jewelry and lots of pretty linen clothes - perfect for hot Austin summers. read more

The menu here is exciting, vibrant and you truly can't go wrong with anything you choose. My friend has joined me on multiple occasions and I can say we have tried quite a lot from here and have never been let down. Bonus points for the seasonal or weekly selects they have - some super yummy creations. While it can get super busy on the weekends and the ambiance can be a lil overstimulating ~ I'm happy to come during the week days when it's a slower and I can pull up a chair at the bar for easy, laid back dining! They also have a designated window for to go order, quick orders or call in orders. This has become my go to! Every staff member is always efficient, kind and professional. I think the service from the staff sticks out the most and the food right after - and on a consistent basis that's just hard to find these days. Our group was split into 2 tables, which is okay, but 1 table was served way before the other table, so some of our group was done eating by the time others got their food. That was the main challenge we had. Would have been great to serve everyone's food closer time-wise. Overall, good experience and I'd come back if staying at the hotel again.

There's ample seating by the truck which is probably nice for part of the year, but we were suffering on a hot summer day. I would highly recommend this spot - but keep in mind the weather as it's all outdoor and outdoor seating only.

Sammie's has been hyped up on social media for a long time and I gotta say it's still underrated! I will gladly have Sammie's take the Pepsi challenge against red sauce joints in NYC/NJ etc. In fact, I've told friends and family that I am going to take them to Sammie's when they visit from there. We just had such a fantastic experience - everything..the vibe..the red light fixtures and the color of the booths and the floor..the service - our server was great..loved their outfits..really had an old school little italy feel to it. The food was much better than I even anticipated - as a guy who grew up on NJ diner mozzarella sticks, I have a high bar for them and these were magnificent. And seriously...taking the "everything's bigger in Texas" slogan and applying them to mozzarella sticks?! top 10 achievements of the decade. The chicken parm was perfect - well seasoned, proper amount of crisp..the basil on top...the perfect browning of the cheese. Also the lasanga was excellent..and best part - the leftovers..took it home and the next two days put them in a small cast iron and re-heated them..and the magic was right there in my hill country kitchen! Lastly and certainly not least - the cannoli...just look at the photo below.. I'll say, yes, the place is pricey but you can really easily split these entrees and then it becomes cheaper than a jersey strip center Italian joint. From the hostess to the waiters to the manager everyone was super attentive and on top of their game. You can't go wrong with anything from the bar. I have never been a fan of Negronis but the one at Sammie's changed my life! I order them everywhere I go now searching for that Sammie's Negroni high but nothing comes close to it. So when I found out they opened a brick-and-mortar location, I knew I had to come back. I re-ordered their Killer Noodles and loved how they kept that fun food truck feel in the presentation. It felt playful, quirky, and true to their roots. Their soft shell crab curry dish was also really impressive. It was a bit too spicy for me, but the flavors were bold, layered, and explosive in the best way. Based on what we tried, I have no doubt the rest of their menu is just as delicious. We ordered oysters including 4 that were dressed--very fresh, tasty and I'd return for the oyster happy hour which is Monday to Friday from 3pm-5pm (they are a bit pricey) The star of the show was the octopus--I've had octopus across the US and globe and honestly one of the best I have had, so glad we ordered in.
