I waver between 3 and 4 stars for Austin's Pizza. While their pizza is better than just about anyone's in town for delivery, it still isn't the greatest. Their greek salad is da bomb, especially since they went back to calamata olives. I got PISSED when they started using black olives instead of Greek. They must have heard about this change from a few people since they put back the olives that should never have been taken out in the first place. There was a period of time when the food quality of this place went way down. Don't know how or why they got their act back together, but they did. We stopped ordering from these guys for almost 2 years because of prior back experience with food, service or both. Glad to say that the last 2-3 times we've ordered from them over the last couple months that everything's been better than good. We'll continue to throw in some orders from the other pizza places in our area, but Austin's Pizza is near the top of our list. read more

The pepperoni rolls. So so good. Plus they deliver ice cream. If you go to the one on guadalupe during lunch you can get a few pepperoni rolls and a veggie-packed side salad at a truly decent price. Far West is the one I normally patronize. They are super fast and the guys are really nice. I usually see them when I'm at my worst, night before a paper is due, in my pajamas, black circles under my eyes, scowl on my face, but they often make me smile. The people on the phone are nice too and if there is a problem they call you back to talk it over, except one time when I wanted mint chocolate chip ice cream and the guy (not one of the regular guys) shows up at my door with a vanilla and a chocolate. I have no idea why they didn't call me, and if I hadn't been jonesing for it like a crack fiend it probably wouldn't have been that big of a deal. Anyway . . . I like the salad choices, the rolls, the staff, the speed, the location, and the weird shirt with the gnome on it. read more

Well to be honest not enough sauce, not enough cheese, pepperoni was thin. All in all the pizza was made skimpy. Sucked. If you want to spend the extra buck I'll rather stick with Home Slice or Brooklyn Pie but if you really have to go to Dominos. Step up your game Austin Pizza read more

Personally I think their pizza is awesome and service is great. Plus the best salads in town, wings, ice cream - all delivered. Their pricing is even great for the quality. I do wish there were more around town - one on the East side would be awesome. If they don't deliver to you it is because their store is too far away and it would result in bad service. It's hard for local companies to grow fast enough to make everyone happy. But they do deliver to Ridgetop now (I live in Mornigside and they come here). $2 delivery fee is probably a result of increasing gas and insurance prices. I don't think they just pocket it or anything. You can always pick it up yourself, which would probably cost you about $2 in gas. And since gas cost usually comes out of the drivers pocket, getting a $2-3 tip would mean they make basically nothing on that delivery. read more

Genuinely disappointing. I ordered two of the large pepperoni specials at the Greystone location. The crust was underdone, warm but doughy, tough and rubbery. The pepperoni was spicy, but had no flavor. One pie had practically NO cheese, the other was adequate. This is really sad, since I've had good pizza from this location when I last lived in the area a couple of years ago. But now appears that Austin's has cut the quality of ingredients and sped up the ovens, all to the detriment of the pies. This was way below Pizza Hut in quality, with about the same appeal as a mediocre frozen pizza that was undercooked. read more

Ordered pizza for our birthday party at Austin Children's museum. The Gluten Free pizza is great and the kids loved it. Would recommend them for parties. The parents had the Brazos and that was also very good. The deliver person was very nice and on time which was a huge plus for kids. read more

I ordered carry-out from here often while living at Far West. It's always quick and hassle free and yummy! I recommend the pepperoni rolls (try the BBQ ranch), and the veggie rolls. The pizzas themselves are always great too. I personally like the Downtown Special but have enjoyed others as well. Good crust, plenty of toppings. Much more satisfying than larger chain pizza places, which often leave me with a stomach ache. Friendly, chill staff. Ordering by phone with Austin's Pizza is always super easy and quick. Usually only takes 15 minutes for a carry-out order. I miss living so close to them! read more

Delivery is quick, and the pizza is decently good. We ordered a pepperoni pizza and a mediterranean, and I thought the latter was far better. I think it's a good choice when you're looking for a reliable delivery option, and I would order again, but it's definitely not the best pizza out there. read more

Why the hell is the pizza here so expensive? $30 for two large pizzas and one was cheese? No way. To make matters worse, when we went to pick it up, evidently the oven had broken in the middle of our order and we had to wait around for the cheese. My main reason for giving this location of Austin's Pizza 4 stars is that they do what I need them to do: I call 795-8888, order my food over the phone, pick it up at Far West Blvd, and take it out the door. Whenever I order by phone, the person on the other end is always fast and courteous, and my order is always ready in 15-20 minutes by the time I get there to pick it up. Two words: PIZZA ROLLS! They're probably my favorite in Austin. Not too keen on eating inside--it's basically three booths and a stand of Austin Chronicles to read--but to stop and get quick pizza, or for takeout, it's great. read more

i had heard mixed reviews about this place for a while, and so the other night, in a fit of hunger, i ordered a pizza for delivery. i'll start with the good parts: they have on-line ordering and the pizza was here in about 30 minutes. the rest of the tale is far less interesting, or worthy of a repeat performance. for the money, the pizza i got was far under my expectations. i ordered the pesto a-go goat and found it lacking in freshness and quantity of toppings. also, instead of a crispy crust, it tasted more like it had been reheated and was stale and burnt on the bottom in places. they do have the business end of the thing down (thus 2 stars), but there are far too many pizza places in this town that make good solid, fresh pizzas to waste my time or money here again. read more

Wow, this place has gone down hill... 1.5 hours to get a pizza, no answer on the customer support line but if you call for a new order they answer within 1 minute. The delivery person showed up, 30 minutes after the 1 hour time frame I was given, and the delivery person said she had no pen for the order receipt and pushed her phone in my face and asked me to complete the order. Only, you can't complete the order without adding a tip... I said absolutely no tip, she threw a fit and said she doesn't even work for Austin Pizza. I mean, I get a late pizza, but this is the second time I've dealt with super late service from this company. No mas. read more

I have finally learned my lesson: Never order again will I order delivery from these guys. They always say 30-60 minutes but the 1st time it took them 1 hour and 35 minutes because they "slammed at the store" and this time they took and 1 hour and 20 minutes because they were once again "slammed at the store". They get 2 stars because the pizza is good but delivery is terrible. If they are busy they should be upfront and tell customers when we are ordering so everyone doesn't get frustrated after an hour. Hire more staff if you have identified what times you are "slammed at the store". Unfortunately, I can never order from there again as my family may get restless and upset again. I tried twice to get Austin's Pizza to deliver to my place, once when I lived in Morningside/Ridgetop, and again a couple of days ago to my house near the Mueller development. Love the pizza, hate the service! 1.5 hour average wait time for delivery? You call orders in to a central phone office that coordinates with several locations in town. They have given me completely different pizzas than what I have ordered on two separate occasions. I feel for the poor guys who are making the pizzas at the location because they seem stressed and obviously haven't been trained how to delight a customer or take responsibility for mistakes. Normally, Austin's pizza isn't too bad, but the past two times I've ordered at the Far West location, the service has been awful!! Regarding the first bad experience, when I came to pick up my order, I had to wait an extra 15 minutes while they tried to figure out whose pizza was whose. They were totally unorganized and had no clue what was going on. The guy in front of me also had to wait for them to find his pizza. Since this was the first time it had happened, I gave them the benefit of the doubt. Last night was just ridiculous. We ordered our pizza at 8, and they said it' would be ready in 15-20 minutes. So, we got there around 8:25 and immediately paid, and the guy said it would be just a second. 30 minutes later, and still no pizza. One of the delivery guys came in and checked the computer and asked what we were waiting on. So, he checked the pizzas that were ready, and found ours. The pizza had been ready the entire time, but the original guy never even checked!!! Even worse, the computer was showing we hadn't paid, so we had to wait another 5 minutes for them to find our receipt. They didn't offer us a free pizza, a discount, nothing. So our 5 minute trip to pick up pizza ended up being an hour trip, and all we got out of it was a cold pizza. I definitely won't be ordering again from there anytime soon. Also, if you want a thick crust pizza, definitely don't order Austin's Pizza. It's very thin crust (which is ok if that's how you like your pizza), and they are VERY SKIMPY with the toppings. If you want a decent amount, you better order double of everything. read more

Usually Austin ' s Pizza is a huge hit for me but tonight it was a definite miss. I ordered the California chicken pizza and a garden salad with grilled chicken. The Pizza tasted okay but the chicken seemed off. I need up picking the chicken off the pizza and throwing it away. As for the salad again the chicken that was supposed to be grilled tasted as if it was microwaved after being frozen. The onions on the salad tasted a little old and watery but other than that it was fine. I probably won't order anything with chicken on it again.. or salad for that matter because it seemed to give me a very upset stomach. read more

Gluten free crust a major plus. The premium they charge for it? Not so much. I think I paid like $16 for my 10-Inch pizza. It was delicious, sure...but that's a one-off. I'm not going to consistently pay that much money for cheese and a few goodies on alternative flour. That being said, I appreciate that it's yummy and it's there, and the next time I crave pizza (happens about once every three or four months) I will happily await my over-priced pie while I sit on my couch and watch a Project Runway marathon...which is what I tend to do when I crave pizza.
