This pizza hits the spot! It is a fairly small neighborhood restaurant. NY style pizza that's cheesy and they don't skimp on toppings. The pizza is delicious and toppings fresh. I've come here here a couple of times since my first visit a few weeks. This is some consistently good pizza with good service too. I work nearby and I was looking for a pizza spot this place popped up with great reviews on Yelp and Google. Local Slice promised NY Style Pizza. I'm originally from Brooklyn so I already know what authentic NY pizza should tastes like. However they were on spot! From the moment I walked in the pizza shop, I was greeted. I let them know it was my first and they gave me the run down. I ordered an 18 inch pepperoni pizza the first time and a pepperoni calzone. The reviews had mentioned how awesome the calzone was and they didn't lie. The calzone was very delicious! And the pizza sauce was flavorful. I highly recommend it. Now to the star of the show, the pizza! It is very good. Ive got this spot into my rotation when I want NY style pizza. The dough is thin, the cheese is scrumptious, the consistency is good. One time it was too salty but that was a one off. You can't go wrong with the pizza here. I did try the the wings but they're weren't as mind blowing as the pizza and the calzone. You can pass on those in my opinion unless you really got a wing craving, because they're just average. Definitely check out Local Slice II. The parking lot is small just be aware of that during busy times. read more

Ive lived 5 minutes from here for the past 2.5 years and wouldn't have ever known it was there if not for a desperate "pizza near me" Google search! Ordered 18 inch 5 hour Hawaiian takeaway. Order was ready very quickly. Mind was blown at size of pizza! Great value. I didn't add on ranch when I ordered but changed my mind when I arrived and I'm glad I did! Great ranch. So the pizza was floppy, cheesy, and greasy. All great things IMO in a NY pizza. I did find myself wishing I'd gotten pepperoni instead for a more authentic experience, but I was happy with our pizza overall. The pork was delicious, very flavorful and they were generous with it. Delicious, I will absolutely return here! Calzone was $7.75 I believe so I'll be back to try that as well! read more

They've been there for quite a while, and judging by the number of take out orders we saw on a Saturday night, they have a loyal following. The people who work there are super nice so I'm glad we ate in the restaurant to enjoy the personal touches. While the Caesar salad was fresh and crispy, the croutons made the dish. The menu offers pizza by the slice, always a nice option. My dining partner had a sausage and onion pizza, while I chose a white pizza with a few of my favorite veggie toppings -- artichokes, mushrooms, and black olives. Here's my assessment. Crust was ok, nothing special. The sausage was chunky and very greasy. The purple onions didn't caramelize while the pizza was cooking, resulting in the sharpness of a raw onion. On the veggie pizza, the white sauce had the overpowering taste of garlic salt. I like garlicky pizza, don't get me wrong, but I prefer it not to be the main flavor. I wanted to be able to enjoy my toppings, to be able to taste the artichokes rather than identify them by their texture. Final thoughts: nice people, great salad, mediocre pizza. read more

Terrific lunch special that hasn't changed in a couple of years: 2 slices and a drink or one slice, salad, and a drink. The slices are topped with your choice of toppings, and I've never been disappointed with how they turn out. Something terrific is that their drink fountain is all Main Root sodas--nice change from standard soda fare. This is a small location, so if there's a lunch rush, there will be a line, and you'll wait a while for your food to be ready. But your pizza will be fresh and hot. Fair trade off. Weird day. Need Comfort Food. I Googled "pizza by the slice near me".. . Good reviews and less than 10 minutes away. YES! Nondescript little pizza shop in nondescript little strip mall hidden in the middle of nowhere. Ordered my Mushroom slice to go. It's just after 1pm and I'm the only one in the shop. I grab a Coke while I wait for my slice **Just need to say...Lovely staff....truly. Engaging....sincere...but seemingly new to the game. I put my Coke down on the adjacent table and upon leaning upon it , wel took a fun little ride as it spun on its base. It literally spun. Given the minute size of this place, I can't believe that management didn't know this table issue. This could literally injure someone. So, I cracked my can of Coke, took a sip and was instantly greeted with my order, ready to go. All tolled, 3 minutes from order in to out the door. Hm. I was planning on eating at home but I was HUNGRY. So I decided to eat in the parking lot while I cleaned out my voice-mail. As I begin my mind-numbing task, I pop open the pizza box and am met with a sad sight. A stiff, dry, entirely unseasoned, lifeless looking slice of pie with what apoear to be sliced raw mushrooms sprinkled on top. So damn stiff and dry that mushrooms are sprinkling onto my lap as I try to eat this thing. I fold the slice carefully in half, trying not to break it and scoop up the fallen mushrooms and sprinkle them back in the middle. I ingest the slice, hitting the crust... as dry and flavorless as an unsalted pretzel. The crust. That chewy last note to a proper slice. Gone. There were zero saving notes to this pizza. The 2 stars I gave were for the staff. I grew up in the northeast (Boston and NYC) blah, blah,blah. When you're selling pizza by the slice, if you don't already have the type of pizza freshly prepared that the customer desires....it is naturally assumed that you have a fresh, slightly underdone, cheese pie ready to be garnished to the customer's tastes. The slice has to have enough elasticity in the dough and fat/ life left in the cheese and the oven time needed for the toppings to adhere to the slice. You don't take the lunch "rush's" now mummified cheese pizza, sprinkle on dry toppings and try to sell it to the public. Man, if I had 10 more minutes between bullshit today, I'd have hit Home Slice in North Loop. They know how to do it right. read more

This is more of a to go kinda place, but there are a few tables in this small space to sit (22 seating spots altogether). There's even a TV in the corner. You definitely get a lot of pizza for 20 bucks but my only complaint is that it was a bit too salty. The calzone was also worth the seven dollars and was larger than I expected. If you're dining in or picking up with a credit card, this business tries to put a little more money in its employees pockets with the "how much do you wanna tip" screen which now seems to be the new norm. Really surprised how much we like this place. We're from NY and really really picky about pizza. Yeah we love some bougie Neapolitan pizzas from a wood oven but sometimes you want just a normal old fashioned slice and this is a great place for it. First time we got pepperoni and it was 5 stars 2 thumbs up. Second time we got sausage and onion and it was ok, sausage crumbles are too small so they're almost flavorless but the crust and sauce was really good.
