I went to LKS to see a used Ford F150 they advertised online. I drove down from Tracy because the…read moread showed a truck that fit what I was looking for pretty exact. When I reached out online Kevin responded right away and we set up a next day test drive of the vehicle. When I arrived Kevin greeted me, her was very polite, he showed me to the truck answered any questions, retrieved the keys and left me with the vehicle to inspect it at my leisure. After a short inspection I asked him if I could test drive the vehicle and he took a copy of my license and let me take the truck. During the test drive I did a hard acceleration and noticed a sputter with some significant power loss and the check engine light flashed on- it was a misfire. I drove back and let Kevin know what happened and that unfortunately I wasn't interested. He was very apologetic and asked me to wait before leaving and hooked up his scanner to see what was wrong and it was a misfire. He changed it the spark plug from the misfiring cylinder and we went on another test drive and the issue was gone. I liked the truck and the scanner didn't show any other problems so I decided to buy it. Kevin informed me that if the problem came back even though he was selling me a used car as is he would fix it or he would take the car back which from a smaller dealership I've NEVER heard before. We finalize the deal do the paper work and I drive off. During my two and a half hour drive back it happened again so I texted Kevin and let him know, long story short hex was polite and professional and honored his promise. I got the truck home and within the next few days I decided to use my scan tool to see what the issue was and it showed a misfire in the number two and four cylinders so I changed the spark plugs in all of them which I usually do anytime I buy a used vehicle anyway and all codes cleared the truck has been running great now for about a month. I called Kevin to let him know and he was happy it worked it and offered to pay for the repair which I declined. Kevin is a stand up guy, and if I find itself in need of another used car I'll gladly do business with him again. Here's one thing people need to consider though when buying a used car, especially from a small dealer. These vehicles are used they're not certified pre-owned they're usually inspected to make sure they're legal to be put on the road and minor repairs are done. You're delaying with a small business that's trying to make money and most of them aren't going to spend extra money to make sure every major repair is completed because their customer base cannot afford or do not have the credit worthiness to buy those types of vehicles. I could've gone to a certified dealer but I found this specific truck and honestly I expected more issues than what I've had so far. Bottom line I usually don't trust used car dealers but Kevin showed here would make things right during and after the sale. I can't recommend him enough!

What was left was over priced and not the value we were looking for. An online delivery service we looked into doesn't cooperate with CA smog and doesn't take cash. I found the exact truck we wanted at a great price looking through Gill's online inventory. It just needed some repairs and a detail. David R., our sales person, wrote out a note giving us first right of refusal at the listed price of $26k. They did not yet know what the repairs would cost, and he kept in touch while we went on vacation. I saw the truck's price online price go up to $29k so I asked David and he said the repair cost necessitated the price change but because he'd already given his word they were honoring the original price and it wouldn't be sold until we passed on it. Both of those documents show the permanent plate number, but I have not received my permanent plates. Meanwhile the temporary plates have expired. I called DMV to find out why they have not sent my plates -- they said that when a dealer sells a car the DMV always sends the plates to the dealer, not the new owner. Further, they said that they had sent all materials to Gill Automotive on June 26, 2026. I have communicated several times with the salesman at the dealership but I have only been promised that someone else will contact me to resolve the issue. No one else has contacted me.
