Went to Auto Zone in Pearl City to buy a new battery, decided to change it out it in the parking lot myself. The sales associate Gary that helped me with with my purchase had seen us having a hard time with removing the clamp from the terminal. My gearshift broke while in the drive through at Dunkin, so I slowly rolled my car over to AutoZone in the same shopping center. It was 7 pm and I was stressed out! But Brandon was really helpful. He looked at my car, charged the battery, and talked to the security guard about me leaving my car there overnight until I could find a place to tow it. The security guard was helpful and understanding. Brandon didn't even try to sell me anything, but the next day I wound up buying a battery because they showed me "Aloha" when I was very stressed out! I have been needing to replace one of my parking light for the past few months. My husband and I were in the area and decided to go to AutoZone. They were very kind and helped me quickly. Brandon who is the assistant manager then came out to my car saw the light that I needed and looked it up in the system and got it fast. To start my review I would like to note that I am a mechanic and do work on all of my cars, friends and familys vehicles, so yes I am mechanically inclined. My moms car died in the parking lot of foodland which is just across the same lot of autozone so I drove down as quickly as possible and to me it was such convenience that it happened near a parts store. So upon arrival into autozone to purchase a replacement battery I noticed that there were 2 counter clerks not wearing face masks and their masks no where in sight, very incompetent thing to do in these times and very unprofessional. I've seen this multiple visits, same workers. I then gave the year make and model of my mom's car and purchased the battery, drove back to the car and while replacing it, I noticed the battery is too tall for the battery hold down to secure it in place. I then took the battery back to get the proper fitment and replacement, the clerk asked me the same year make and model and said it was the correct one. Found it strange how they don't even ask me for the motor size, I then tell him the motor size and he kept insisting and correcting me telling me its a different size motor and kept insisting that its the right battery that I need. Instead of considering its the wrong battery he then proceeded to convince me that the cars stock OE battery hold down is an aftermarket part and not allowing it to bolt down properly. After arguing for several minutes that everything is from the manufacturer and the way its suppose to be he still insisted the battery is suppose to fit but said their saltlake location should have a battery that fits he then tries to issue a refund and I made it clear I don't need a refund I need the correct battery because my mom is stuck in the parking lot. He then tells me I should drive both the old battery and new battery to the salt lake store to get it exchanged for the correct one that fits... admitting while not admitting that they sold me the wrong battery and having someone else fix their f#ckup. My visit has been very unprofessional at the least. End of the story I bought a replacement battery from napa that fit no problem and returned the battery back to autozone. Let's just say I'm sticking with napa for all my automotive needs. I suggest everyone to do the same, at very minimum go to any other autozone location aside from this one. These guys pretend that everyone doesn't know about cars and also that covid doesn't exist hence them not wearing face mask. read more

I wish there was a negative star option because thats what I would mark for the lack of customer service but besides that even as a person in the community they lacked compassion. Im a woman with an issue they could have easily helped me resolve but instead choose to deny me making my situation that much worse. All I needed was a star Allen for 2 min maybe. Could have used in the store with their supervision and would have been happily back on the road. Well instead they decided to not be able to help me so as I sit in front of their establishment in the rain stuck because unlike any other store with tools Auto Zone decides to be the 1 who cant help me. Well I think its a bunch of bullshit because even as a bum stranded on this rock i still do and go above and beyond any expectations to help every chance I get. But for me? NO! I get nothing when the rare occasion of me needing help comes up. I wish there were an O'Reilly near by. They never denied me any tool to fix my awesome bike. Moral of the story, dont be that guy. Bought new headlight bulb bcs the right side was blown out. Had to come back to the store to double check if I bought the right one. Come to find out it was the right purchase just the wrong section of my car I tried to replace lol. So an employee named MANA was kind enough to switch both lights with the purchased ones for me. My car needed new windshields I did the curb side. It was so easy to order online and pick up. I love it that the worker but the put it on for me. I realized I only bought one and needed another one so I went back in and got the other one. I know nothing about cars so just them putting it on for me was a plus. We were going all over to find a new battery for a 2020 Corolla. NEX, Costco, Sam's with no success. Battery isn't made by US sources. Wife suggests Auto Zone and here comes Felix to the rescue. He tested the battery and gave us so much info and advice. What was priceless is that the battery is under warranty. I never thought about that ever since I've always considered it normal wearing like tires. Called the dealer to find there is indeed a warranty 3 years 36kmiles. Made appointment the next day as it was too late in the afternoon. After a thorough check which took several hours it was determined a bad battery. In fact car had to be jumped stared once we got into the service line. If not for Felix we would've surely be somewhere on Oahu with a stalled vehicle. Excellent customer service and his genuine concern impressed us elderly seniors immensely.
