I gave this dealership 4 stars because I got a great trade in price, I appreciated the number of women working in a usually male dominant workplace, and I felt the vehicle price was good. That being said there are things a buyer should be aware of . I was in the market for a new minivan. I did extensive research and read every Yelp review for dealers within 50 miles of my house. This was scary because every dealer has very crappy reviews. I almost said forget it after reading reviews. Next , I used cars.com and kbb.com to have dealerships send me their "best prices". Slimes!!!! Many constantly emailed for me to come in and talk , gave quotes that included numerous rebates they knew I wouldn't be able to get. I didn't feel comfortable shopping in person during a pandemic and many dealerships straight up said we won't give you best price unless you come in. Bogus! Autonation gave best price snd said it included all fees other than tax, title, doc fee, plates. I made an appointment. Sales lady was Roxsana who I really liked. She was knowledgeable about the car but didn't use crazy high pressure tactics. Got a great trade in price, of course I had another quote from another dealership for them to beat, and they did by quite a bit. The only problem came when final paperwork came and they tried to throw in extra charges including: environmental protection fee, wheel locks, window tint, weather tech floor mats, windshield glass protection. About 3,000 dollars of fees! I absolutely refused to pay it and said I was done . The manager came and eventually took it all off and things got pleasant again . This is shady and I told them that. I showed the email where I requested to know price with all fees included. I only took off one star for this shadiness because I had a feeling they would do it after reading the reviews and I knew I just had to refuse to pay it and all works out . My Mother went to the dealership to have her oil changed. It appears that they took the opportunity to boost the profits of the dealership. Her oil change, after the extras and add-ons was over $900 and they told her she needed another $2,000+ that they couldn't do because it would be over seven hours to repair. My Mother does not believe that they explained the extras and the costs for them. She said the service writer came out to her and told her that they were going to be doing a number of things. I find it interesting that they put an oil additive in when it looks like the oil they installed is a synthetic. Some of the other items are the ones many people identify as unnecessary ways for dealerships to pad the bottom line. I am taking her car to a mechanic I trust to see if he can figure out what the $2,000 repair consists of. Based on the written description he was clueless and since there are no drips under the car even more curious. After they rotated her tires they performed a four wheel alignment. The rear camber on one side is off, they four wheel alignment did nothing to correct it, only the toe was adjusted. My mechanic said the arm needs to be replaced and rear aligned again. Total for this repair about $375. Sadly, their alignment seemed to be just another means to rachet the bill higher. I contacted the dealership and asked to have the General Manager contact me. I wanted to ask for a review of the work that was charged and what wasn't corrected. It would be nice to know what the $2,000 repair entails and ask him to remind his employees that when dealing with elderly women it would be a very kind thing to make sure they understood the work proposed and whether it was necessary. My Mother did not feel that she had a choice and was told these are the things they were going to do to her car. She does not recall them telling her the cost, I think she would have remembered $900. She has been losing sleep, feels that they took advantage of her age and her lack of knowledge. No response from the General Manager or anyone from the dealership. read more

After going to a few dealerships in our search for a minivan I emailed autonation to get an e-price on one of their 2021 EX-L models. Anna Marie was the Internet salesperson we worked with and when we went in to the dealership we worked with her at that point as well. Other places you speak to someone online and you think you're going to meet them but you walk in and it's someone else which is a huge turn off especially when you already think you're going to get taken for a bath. After very little negotiation I received a fair price for my trade-in and their finance department got us a great rate even lower than what we expected. They will still ask you if you want extended warranties etc but if you don't just stick to your guns. Car buying is stressful and all in all we had a good experience with this dealer. Shopping for a used car for my mom. Serious buyer, ready to purchase today. On 8/31/22, I called the dealership to ask about the 2007 Honda Civic that I saw online, and verified that they had it in stock. I spoke with Remy on the phone, and he explained that the car was there, but it was not detailed. I said that didn't matter, and asked if we could see it and test drive it. He said yes, so I made an appointment to head over within the hour. We drove an hour in traffic, arrived at Autonation, and asked for Remy. Not sure where Remy was, but Harvey said that he would be helping us. Harvey kept going to the back, then the counter, then back & forth. Harvey informed me that the Civic was not there - it was at the detail shop in Westmont! Ridiculous - spent two hours in traffic roundtrip, wasted gas, all for a confirmed appointment that didn't really exist. Epitome of poor service and unprofessionalism. read more

Where do I even begin! So I needed to get my brakes and rotors fixed and was trying to get an estimate before committing. I called the service number and asked how much it would be for brakes and rotors to get done, I was transferred to parts and was told the cost of the parts, when I asked about the cost of labor, I was transferred back to service. Service said they only do appointments and transferred me over, only for me to get a voicemail. It doesn't make sense how people don't know who the right people are to be transferred to for such a simple question. I should've taken that as a red flag. My appointment was at 9:30 am and I got there at 9:15 am, I was told that the car will be ready by 11:30 am. They will go ahead and inspect the car and let me know what will be needed to be done, the cost and we can move forward from there. I said that I would wait and proceeded to the waiting area. About 45 mins later I receive a text message with what has to be done to the car. So I am waiting for an advisor to come to me to confirm. The advisor does not come (waited about 15 mins) and there is no option in the text message to confirm. I tend go and talk to the advisor and ask if they were working on the car, he says no and will confirm for them to start. So if I never came out, the advisor would've just sat there and not inform me? Like he couldn't walk up the 7 steps it took to go into the waiting room to provide me with an update? So I asked if the time will be the same. He said it would now be 11:30/12. 12:20 rolls around, do you think I received an update?? Nope! So I had to go back and ask for an update only for DeMarco to be smart and say it's not done yet. Clearly it isn't, but an update would be nice. I saw the rest of the advisors talking with the customers and providing updates but nope not him! So now he says it will be another 20 to 30 mins. I didn't leave there to around 1:15 pm. Changing brakes and rotors does not take 3 hours. An hour at most, not 3 hours! It's ridiculous. At that point, I feel like people who have to wait more than 2 hours should be given a courtesy car so we can at least run some errands or get food! Never again!! For the amount I had paid as well.. I feel like I was robbed and definitely ripped off! They say time is money and let me tell you.. they sure took both! read more

He listened to our experience and was genuinely apologetic about what happened. He went on to give us his personal cell phone number and arranged repairs and a rental at a body shop for us at no cost. The car has since been repaired and looks great! We are so disappointed in the experience we had at this dealership. It is a typical business of not negotiating the pricing. They make you come in just to waste your time. We couldn't believe that wouldn't take our cash $. The finance manager messed up the numbers and wanted to take our refund of an overcharge as hostage to pay for the math errors he made. These people used to be great, but ... Used car prices are high everywhere, all dealers are jacking up the price with unwanted "dealer installed options". These guys had a good inventory of very recent used cars and we bought one understanding this was the situation everywhere. No complaints about the sales and delivery process. But when we came back a few months later for an oil change and rotation, they tried to convince us that a car that was still under warranty needed to have thousands of dollars of work done! It was the perfect definition of a scammy upsell by one of their "service advisors". This is very disappointing from a company that has - up until now - given us excellent, honest, and quality service. Buy there if you like what you see. Beware of predatory sales tactics and price gouging! In my case they were forcing me to pay over $2100 for things that were not part of the original order agreement after I waited over 6 months for a car. This dealership placed a mandatory $2196 over the MSRP of unwanted options on the car I agreed to purchase. They stated if I don't purchase the options, they won't sell the car to me and that they are "standard" (read: mandatory) for every car they sell. Those additional fees are not negotiable and you can't opt out of them. They did this to me after they made me wait almost 6 months betting on the fact that I would not back out of the purchase and I would fall for their predatory sales tactics. Mind you, the original agreement was to purchase $2500 worth of accessories from them for my new Odyssey - I was happy to pay for extra stuff, just not the things they were forcing on me. Talk about penny wise, pound foolish. Beware of Jenny G. (sales person) who will make promises she can't keep, tell you a handful of stories only to come up with excuses only to exert their predatory sales tactics. Beware of Patricia (sales manager) who won't listen and will talk over you. You have to question the ethics of a place where the managers are out to exploit the customers counting on the fact that the customers will capitulate to their predatory price gouging. Unless you like hassles, I guarantee you you're going to regret shopping here, and that comes from a returning customer whose entire family was buying cars from for years. And if you end up in the same spot as me, be sure to voice your complaint to Honda Motor Corporation to tell them how this dealership taints their brand and steers customers to other brands. Harvey was very knowledgeable, answered all of my questions and never pressured me - a woman shopping by myself - into any decisions. Joe was equally professional. The whole process moved at the pace I set and I never felt rushed at any point. The quotes I was provided were transparent and easy to understand and the total amount I was ultimately charged was exactly what I was quoted. This dealership used to be good, when Kevin was in the service department. Today I took my car in to troubleshoot a dashboard light, and they came back with $1500.00 worth of unrelated work that wasn't even remotely mentioned the last time I took the car in for an oil change. I asked them to also rotate the tires, and they come back with the tire wear is uneven and two tires have to be replaced...with less than 10k miles on the tires and a great amount of the tread depth remaining. Uneven wear means you rotate them, not gouge your customer for unnecessary replacements. I'll never go back there. They used to be a trusted maintainer of my Hondas, but are now just milking customers for all they can get. I'm done with them. My next car is a Ford. read more

I recently purchased a vehicle from Honda O'hare AutoNation in Des Plaines, IL. I was very satisfied with the customer service during my experience. The salesperson and the manager helped me out with the purchase, any questions, and even were able to fix all the issues the car had. Some of the issues that needed to be fixed included the sliding door, tire sensor, seat rattle, rear wiper blade, plastic running boards that needed to be secured, new gas tank door, scratches, and the front bumper needed to be secured. Once I purchased the vehicle I was told that I need to wait for some parts to arrive before bringing in my car for service. I finally dropped off my car at the dealership on September 29th for it to be serviced. I waited for over a week and no one has contacted me about my vehicle to provide updates. I finally had to call the dealership on October 7th in order to find out about the vehicle. I was told that the dealership is waiting on parts and that the vehicle is just parked. I asked the service advisor why they did not take the car to the body so the repairs can be done and he had no answer for me (bodywork was done elsewhere). The following week I got an update saying that the vehicle is going into the body shop (which was another week). Again, no one was calling me for updates or letting me know what was going on. I tried contacting the manager and no one had called me back and I even had to take time out of my day in to go into the dealership and find out why no one was calling me and get an update about my vehicle. When the car came back to the dealership the mechanic assessed the sliding door and had to order a motor for it, so it can be replaced. (Why was this not done in the first week when the car was just sitting in the lot?). The dealership ordered the parts and it ended up being the wrong part. I had to wait longer in order for the correct parts to come in.  I finally got a call and was told that the car is ready for pick-up on October 27th (a month later). During the whole experience, I was not able to get a hold of any manager (sales or service) via phone, even after leaving numerous messages to them. I was not offered a rental car for that whole time and had to borrow my family's cars in order to get around. I was using my father's car for about a couple of weeks and its catalytic converter was stolen. I had to pay $1000 to get the catalytic converter replaced. After about 3 and a half weeks I finally got frustrated and tired of waiting for my car and had exhausted all my options, I asked for a rental. The service manager provided me with a rental only after 3 and a half weeks, after driving multiple cars, after jumping through all the loopholes, and after a stolen catalytic converter. This whole experience makes me never want to go to your dealership again. I have spent more time on the phone waiting for someone to call me than actually talking and getting updates about the vehicle. It is insane to keep a vehicle in the dealership for over a month and not even follow up with the customer or offer a rental car. My vehicle has a 90 day or 4,000-mile warranty and a third of that time my vehicle was just sitting in the lot. read more

DO NOT BUY A USED CAR FROM THEM! Although they are probably selling Hondas have a great reputation and no need to cover up issues before selling new cars. They will supply you with a checklist showing that the car has been checked out and there are no issues. Then they offer you an extended warranty of at least 4 times what you can buy directly. Also offering an Auto Nation short-term warranty at no cost. The result, I drove the car what was supposed to be a fully checked out car home 1100 miles noticed a few things, and wanted to get it checked out. I took it to a Porsche Dealer because there were no Auto Nation dealers close and wanted someone who knew the car. End result what this dealer noted as a perfect and checked out car, ended up costing me another $3000 plus fixing what should have been caught during the Auto Nation inspection. They refuse to admit this was an issue and will not cover the gap between what the short-term warranty did cover and what it cost me out of pocket! I took in my Honda Pilot for service (2 recalls). Scheduling the appointment online was easy and I was attended to promptly when I arrived. The service representative (Kim) was very friendly and when we realized the repairs would take several hours, the dealership ordered me a Lyft home. I received texts throughout the day to update me on progress and when my vehicle was ready, the dealership ordered me a Lyft back for pickup. No appointment? Sorry we can't take you. I've gone in to get a tire repaired(with an appointment) and ended up waiting 3 hrs just to be told I need a new tire, then waited another 2 hours. Service advisors only know maintenance packages and nothing else and it shows. Out of the convenience of this location, I keep coming. Not sure if the dispatcher(if there is even 1) or techs are to blame for the absurd wait times for simple jobs(LOF ie), but the advisors don't give you an update until the car is done or the tech wants to upsell. Autonation Honda has killed it though... we walked in, were greeted promptly and politely and led to the waiting area. Everyone was extremely friendly. The waiting area was clean, and organized. They have a Starbucks coffee/hot chocolate machine for anyone waiting, cold bottles of water, and semi-private desks for anyone wanting to use their electronics. We bought our car from here as well, and the salesman who helped us was very friendly and informative, and got us a pretty good deal on the car we bought. My son was with me and he loves cars... everyone smiled at him, and as we sat down someone (I think the manager, i'm not sure?) walked by with a small race car toy for my boy! The vision of an excited little boy with a toy car is surpassed by few other, IMO lol. It's a small gesture but it really means a lot :) Great place to buy your car and service! read more

Holy cow; the unscrupulous car-sales tactics this place uses, such as coatings and rust-proofing, etc. are so old I fell off my dinosaur! I thought we were done with all of that. Take a look at the window stickers of every car they sell, where they tack on a $500 fee for a $20 wax job. That's your first clue that this is a dealer to avoid like the plague. Read all of the other reviews about the scams and cons that this place tries to pull on people. Avoid this dealer; I have no idea how they are staying in business. Rude staff that, if they treat you like they treated me, they will stall and try to wear you down, while they try to scam you with every trick in the book. I wouldn't buy a keychain from this place. P.S. Look at the huge number of Yelp-filtered reviews. I brought a used car I recently purchased from this dealership a few months ago. After driving it for a day I noticed a horrible grinding noise coming from the front end. I was told the service department would take a look at it after literally having to take the service mgr. for a ride. They told me it was the front struts that the noise was coming from. After speaking with the service advisor I was told the strut mounts needed replacing. After a lot of typing on his computer he said they could fix it under warranty. After waiting over a month for the parts to be ordered and some sort of approval I was told they would schedule the repair. Another month went by and it's a new year now they scheduled the repair. However, by the time I went to drop the car off I had discovered a different issue with noise coming from the rear on the left side of the car. I washed the car in my garage one day and noticed that something under the left rear bumper next to the muffler appeared to be loose. Upon arriving for the service appointment for the strut replacement in the front I specifically mentioned the noise from the rear. I told the service advisor about it and told him it seemed like a metallic shield next to the muffler might be loose. I was told they would check it out. When I went to pick the car up after the scheduled repair I was told that the noise from the rear was the back shocks and they needed replacing. The service advisor proceeded to tell me they weren't under warranty and it would cost me $1200. The service advisor never acknowledged the issue I mentioned about the seemingly loose exhaust shield! read more

So I purchased a Nissan Pathfinder 2017 from the dealer, I also purchased an extended warranty. The car only has 40k miles so is under the power and tran warranty. I had my car towed to Honda O'Hare I was having issues with the car not staying on. The service representative told me not to worry because I had purchase the Platinum Extended Warranty and besides my car still had the manufacture warranty. To my surprise I was told that Hond O'HARE was not able to work on the issued because it fell on the power and tran warranty, the car had to be towed to a Nissan dealer so that they could resolve my problem. I said no problem I just need my car to work. I get a call from the Nissan dealer and I was told that the issue with my car is not a power tran but an issue that is cover through my extended warranty, however I had to pay a deductible because the work was being done at a different dealer. I'm not a mechanic, I have no clue on working with cars but for Honda O'Hare to tell me that they can not work on my car I find that hard to believe. Do they need better mechanics, I'm highly qualified mechanics? Had Honda O'Hare worked on my car I would not be out a deductible of $100. I called the Honda O'Hare and left several messages never got a call back. I don't understand what ever happened With customer service? Why was it that Honda O'Hare service department was not able to fix the problem? And how come I never got a call back? Avoid coming here. We got a simple oil change on our Honda done at the shop here and right after we drove the car about 40 miles, the same night. Only a few minutes into the drive and we got a warning on our dash followed by a check engine light. Went in the next day explaining that THEIR maintenance on the car could have caused this problem and that we had literally been here a few hours ago. Might I add that the car was working perfectly fine and no check engine lights had come up ever before. So, the inconsiderate employee told me that it would cost $180 for them to do a diagnostic... on a problem that THEY might have caused... I don't think so. I called corporate and filed complaints against this dealership but I doubt that will do any good - just avoid coming here, they don't care about you. Weird overall experience with trying to sell my car to them. Did a kelly blue book instant offer and they got notified. The buyer called me several times and then went in for an appraisal. They offered me about 1200 less than the offer from KBB.com. He rattled off a bunch of things wrong with the car. I don't doubt there were a crew issues with the car, but it was a total lowball offer. I went to carmax and they gave me 35% more without any hassle. I wrote him back as a courtesy and he said they would have beat it. Maybe they would, maybe they wouldn't, but the point is if they would have given me a more respectable offer up front then I would have probably gone back. But it felt dishonest and did not feel respected. I get business is business, but also felt they were trying to take advantage of me. read more

I called ahead inquiring about a car and by the time I got to the dealership she had the car ready and keys in hand. She was beyond knowledgeable about the car and was very relatable, which made the experience much more enjoyable. I couldn't recommend working with her enough. The Pilot is quite spacious and accommodates (8) eight occupants, driver included. So far, I just love my Pilot. I had roof rails and a moon visor added to the Pilot to dress it up a little. The sales representatives were great and walked me through the purchasing process as I have not purchased a new car in 11 years. They gave me a good price and the finance representative connected me to Honda Finance where I was able to obtain 0.9% apr interest rate for the life of the loan, 60 months. Another good deal. All in all I was treated with courteous , knowledgeable sales and finance representatives who made the new car purchase a stress-less event. My only lament was that the entire purchase process from start to finish was several hours long. However, that included a TEST DRIVE and the many documents to review and understand and then sign. The overall experience was made bearable by the very polite sales representatives who maintained a high standard of professional decorum. I would have trouble recommending this dealership to family or friends. Let's get the good out of the way. I brought in a written quote from another location, and they honored the quote at then beat it as well. Additionally, the sales person was quite pleasant and accommodating; I could work with him in the future, but not at this dealership. Now for the bad... I bought another Honda at a different dealership, and the ownership part (the stuff after the negotiations took no more than an hour). It took 4 hours here, which isn't even the bad part; it's what happened within those 4 hours. We were promised dealer incentives, gathered all documentation to get those incentives (phone calls to get pictures of stuff), and in the end, we were told we don't qualify for the incentives. They held on to the title to my trade in for 3 hours before they realized that another person has to come as well to sign it over (co-owner). They low balled me on my trade in, saying that the Carfax shows a previous accident, but they couldn't produce the Carfax. Overall, we were jacked around for 4 hours before we could leave. I truly do regret purchasing my car here. Last words. The sales person was nice, but the sales manager and finance people run a sad operation. They will not be scored well when Honda requests the satisfaction survey. read more

Zero stars. Where to start? We purchased a used car from Autonation Des Plaines in April. The purchase was based on them selling their "good" reputation, a thorough check of the car, and a 90 day warrantee. The price paid reflected that. Soon after taking possession there was an issue. We took the car back and was assured all was fine. It was not and we are so far into it for an additional $2500 in repairs because the warrantee claim was DENIED. The warrantee company told us they could not give us the denial in writing because Autonation does not allow them to do that. Now more lights have come on indicating an emissions issue. Based on This experience I would not recommend Autonation. They have not honored the reputation they sold us or their supposed 90 warrantee. Again this is actually a zero star review. read more

Lost my wheel lock key and needed the locks replaced on my crv. Chau the service manager took great care of me. I bought the new set from parts and Chau swapped them out right away. Super friendly and fast service. Highly recommend! read more
