Our sales associate, Juan, was knowledgeable, pleasant, patiently answered all of our questions, responded promptly to all of our messages, and has reached out since we bought the car. We asked him for his best out the door price, and based on the prices we got at several other dealerships, we believe we got it. He also honored the price Carmax offered us for our trade-in, when other dealers tried to low ball us. Less than 2 years ago, my daughter bought her used Hyundai SUV here. We should have insisted on an immediate refund when the car died and wouldn't start again, after simply driving straight from the lot to Ace Hardware on Lee Street. The salesman apologized profusely and they had to tow it off Ace's parking lot. Then it took several days to repair. Today my daughter went to have new tires installed. She was told by the mechanic after putting her vehicle on rack, she shouldn't waste putting any more money into the vehicle. The undercarriage is rusted and eroded all the way through and missing chunks of metal on one side. If the cars have to pass inspections before sale, their inspectors are either blind or they don't care. This is NOT normal wear and tear during time she's had the vehicle. The worst part is she recently had to leave it overnight on June 16, 2024 for a recall. They did an inspection there again. (See attached photos) So at least twice the mechanics saw the damage and didn't mention it. She has already put thousands of dollars for misc. repairs into the vehicle since purchase and is still making payments, now this. I notice all the 5 star reviews are very recent. The need to go through a 3rd party AI system to schedule a service call is HORRIBLE. On your cell phone they tell your to schedule an appointment below, then you get to the bottom and they tell you to make an appointment above. No obvious place to make an appointment, but they certainly have enough sales pitches to try and get you to buy more services. Finally got to a point where they text you a link to make an appointment and it brings you back to the loop of "Link below, Link Above". I got tired of looking and going in circles. I had a poor experience at AutoNation O'Hare Hyundai service center. I came in for an oil change and tire pressure check; NIna came in with a list totaling over $1,000. When asked about each item, she realized one procedure was already completed the last time I was there and I didn't really need another. When ready to leave, she said I needed a new battery for my 2023 Kona for $400. I declined and had my battery checked at AutoZone, where it was checked to be fine. We bought a used 2020 Acura here and I'm now working with an attorney after this Hyundai dealer sold me an $800 warranty for "Interior Protection," but didn't apply any product specified in the actual contract (which does NOT get partially refunded even if you sell your car before the warranty expires, another nice grift). *** NOTE: I will add my legal firm's information here in a few days for others who purchased invalid contracts from Autonation Hyundai. Why should anyone get ripped off?! *** Also, read the contract... some 3rd party named "Siskin" is supposed to cover this, but when you actually call them, they tell you "No, the dealer handles this contract" even though it explicitly states Siskin does. What a convoluted mess! So yeah, do NOT buy extended warranties here! They don't actually cover anything and NO PROTECTIVE PRODUCT GETS APPLIED AS REQUIRED PER THEIR OWN CONTRACTUAL LANGUAGE (it's supposed to be a "permanent product," but then why does it only cover factory defects to begin with... anyways, they applied nothing to the car! I recently scheduled an appt for oil change and a change of battery. Wow, upon checking in, my service guy, Ahmad, tells me I have several recommendations that should be done per the mechanic. First, he tries to tell me about putting on new windshield wipers..I told him i just had them changed several months ago, so cancel that. Then he goes on to tell me I need a car brake system flush and its very dirty and a safety issue. Well, after the car analysis was done, the anaylsis shows that it passed, so how can my car need a flush system if my car performance analysis passes and i hove NO service engine light coming on? My car is a 2021 hyundai kona and i only have 21,000 miles on it. Then Ahmad goes on to tell me about other recommendations i need and if i did all of those my bill would have been $1,350!! STAY AWAY from this dealership!! I was in the waiting room with 3 other people that came in after me and they were all told the same song and dance. Its a shame customers are being scammed on services that dont need to be done. This dealership is just out to make a quick buck..The battery charge was over $500. The rotation of tires is $39 which you can get for free at other places with an oil change. NEVER AGAIN. read more

DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR IN FOR SERVICE HERE!!! I had to start with the above statement. I made an appointment a week in advance for an oil change and a recall repair that consisted of a fuse for AB to be replaced. I drove up at 0645hrs for my 0700hrs appointment. (1st appointment for the day) Matthew, the advisor, also suggested that I rotate my tires. I agreed and proceeded to the waiting room as they knew I would wait for my car when I made the online appointment. The advisor came in after 30 minutes and told me that they were asking around other dealers if they had the recall part (AB fuse) as they did not have it. It's a recall part, and you're a Hyundai dealer. Shouldn't you carry it in stock? Long story short, 2.5 hrs later, I asked if my car was ready, and the advisor told me they just got my part in, and it would be another hour!! At that point, I told the advisor to immediately bring my car around. I asked him if he did my oil change, and he replied "no," then asked him if he rotated my tires and replied "no." I asked him what the hell was my car doing in the back lot for 2.5 hrs? It took them another 15 minutes to bring my car back from the rear lot. When the car pulled up both doors on my car opened up revealing a passenger/employee coming out. I couldn't stop but to recall the epic scene in "Ferris Bueller's day off" when the parking attendants took the car out for a joy ride!!!!! This dealership's service is complete and utter garbage!! Work ethic nonexistent and timeline promises are lies!! If it were the last Hyundai dealership in the galaxy and my car was about to die.....I'D BURN IT INSTEAD AND GO WALKING EVERYWHERE!!! I have bought, sold and traded cars for 54 years and this is the very best dealership I have ever encountered! I was buying a hybrid for the first time loaded with bells and whistles and my salesman, Juan, was able to show me how all of them worked. He is very knowledgeable and patient. A week after the sale he still calls and asks if I have any questions about the operation of the vehicle and has given very useful help. Joe, the manager, and Juan were very upfront with pricing and my trade in value and we were able to come to an agreement. I saved over $5K more than my closest dealer was willing to agree to on the same car and they were much more professional and courteous. Matt, in finance, was also a real pro in showing me ways to save on that end of the deal. He, too, was very courteous and friendly. I only wish this dealership was closer to my home, though I will only return to this facility in any future Hyundai purchases. Great value, courteous and knowledgeable employees. Promised me that any overage would be refunded to me. Called them daily for two weeks to check on my refund and 90% of the time no one even answers the phone. Within 2 months the car was lurching. Took it in because it was under warranty and they kept it 5 days, charged me $250 for diagnostics and said nothing was wrong. Last September after the warranty had run out I had to pay $4,000 for a NEW TRANSMISSION! I contacted BBB and I couldn't even locate the manager of the place. 3 days ago the car wouldn't start. Had it towed to a repair place not a dealership and they told us there was a RECALL for the engine. An engine is $3000 and I don't know how I'm going to get this car fixed. I paid $15,000 for the car, $4,000 for a new transmission and now the engine is shot. We bought the car one year ago. Do not buy a car from Auto Nation they are shady as they come! I have a very bad experience today with the dealer which I would like to share. I finalized a car with this dealer and was working with the bank for a loan. The dealer provided the purchase agreement which was submitted to the bank and I told the dealer that I will come next day for the car, along with the down payment and the loan check. Next day when I was supposed to go in 2 hrs with the required documents, I got a call to visit the dealer immediately else the car will be sold to someone else and it was actually sold to the other person. It is a loss of time(3 days I wasted on this car) and a lot of frustration since the dealer didn't live up to the expectation and commitment. Ideally they should have kept the car on hold for me. Service Department was fantastic when Bob was the service manager but then he left the dealership for a better job. They hired a complete jerk in Kevin as the new service manager. I decided to go to another dealership as I had moved. Recently I found out that Kevin was no longer there and called to make an service appointment with a appointment advisor who asked me what was the issue. I told her my lift gate for my 2018 Santa Fe Sport Unlimited has a type of strut on either side of the gate that lifts the gate open and that it was making a clicking noise when opening or closing. I was put on Hold a few times as she didn't understand the issue. After explaining further she told me to come in on a certain date and that I would have to leave it 2 or 3 days for the repair. I told her that sounded ridicules as you only needed to see the strut order the part and I'd come back whenever. She told me this is how they work it a Autonation. I told her fine but I needed a loaner. She told me they had no loaners. I told her the contract I had with Autonation that I was afforded a loaner any time my car was there overnight. She told me again that they had no loaners. Having enough of this dealership, I told her this is the reason customers leave a dealership and that I would go back to Leader Hyundai in Palatine where service advisors such as Kyle and his team are always nice, I always get a loaner when they have my car. My family recently purchased a Palisade from leader and can see the difference between a great dealership and a poor excuse of a dealership. Need a Hyundai contact Leader Hyundai in Palatine and ask for Kyle in the service department who will introduce you to their knowledgeable salesperson. I just bought a car with them. Not having bought a new car in over a decade made the process seem daunting, but the transaction went pretty smoothly and straightforward. Anatoly (Al), Evan, and Stephan were informative, honest, and forthcoming. Evan was my first contact and is very knowledgeable about EVs. He had straight answers for me when I asked about the car's capabilities compared to its competitors. He also responded to my many inquiries over email. At no point did I feel pressured to purchase during our interactions. Al and Stephan were my next points of contact. Al was very accommodating and acted like a host. He took me for another test drive and further explained the car's capabilities. Stephan was very helpful in explaining the financing and insurance side of the process. He also had great tips on using the EV's driver assistance features. Both Al and Stephan were fastidious about making sure I got the best car I could get as they offered a deep clean of the car because of bug splatters that the regular car wash couldn't remove. Bought a 2018 Toyota Camry SE about 30,000 mile on it a month ago. I checked the reviews and trust them, so Idid not look at the car details while I was purchasing. First of all, The tire is blow off on highway after a week and the repair guy said the 4 tires are different brand and has to replace since 3 of them is badly used and not enough deep the lines on those tires. What if my wife had an accident when tires blow off on highway. Thank GOD it did not happen. Safety needs to first, not money! I replaced all of them and cost me $700. The car was 30,000 miles on it and somehow the original tires wasn't on it. Secondly, I just went to Toyota dealer to changed the oil and filter. They called and said the engine splash shield wasn't there. We just want to show you this before we change the oil. I wish, I can put a picture here to prove it. I just figured that out now another thing. When they advised they say 7 days 250 miles money back guaranteed. When I was in the finance room. They signed me a paper that says money back guaranteed waiver paper. When I asked why I should sign this. The finance guy said, this car sold as is. I really wanted to not buy it at a that time but I remember the reviews was good and the car was 2018, so what can be I thought. I really trusted the General Manager David Solomon, but he gave me a lesson to not trust anyone who you don't know. Anyway, this is the real story. Unfortunately, I am less than happy with your service department people as they made me think my car needed an oil change at 3500 mi and they also used a conventional grade oil. I bought the car from this dealership, a brand new SantaFe 2020, just 2.5 months ago. I did look into the manual of my car: it states engine oil and oil filter need to be change every 7500 mi, synthetic grade oil recommended which actually aligns with the maintenance coverage included in my purchase agreement! I also called the Hyundai Central region office who's representative stated the same info: every 7500 mi with the synthetic grade oil. By the way, I was charged for the service I did not need and that was supposed to be covered by my purchase agreement. It is sad your service people create mistrust in your customers. At this point I am not sure I am returning for service to your location. On a good note, my sales representative Darren is a very professional and nice person. He made the purchase of the car a breeze. He also checked on me after this service mishap, apologized for the dealership in general, and even offered to cover the costs of the oil change. Really upset with the Service Department. My husband hit a pot hole last week Wednesday. Damaged the rim and the tire. He put on the donut and brought the rim & tire in to be repaired. Service told him you need a new one. So he paid cash $500. Took a half vacation day off on Friday to get the new rim installed. When he gets there Service tells him that it can be repaired but he needs to come back Monday for it. It apparently will save him some money. They can't refund him for the new one the company has to cut a check. Comes back Monday (another half day vacation wasted). They put on the repaired rim, new tire and does an alignment. Price comes out to $500 which he now needs to pay again because they are refunding the original purchase via check. Seriously, 3 trips to the dealer. A lost vacation day and now we are waiting for a $500 refund which we desperately need to get back as we are not rich people.
