Stay far away from this dealership. I had a service appointment for them to look at a defect on a brand new vehicle. I show up and they don't even acknowledge that I'm waiting. They told me they are too busy and backed up to look at my vehicle. I literally drove 20 minutes each way. They didn't even do the courtesy of letting me know in advance that they can't even service me. I don't know what the point of appointments are if they can't honor them. Extremely unprofessional. After purchasing a car or having one serviced at Golf Mill, they bombard you with survey reminders--so as they wish, here is my honest experience. With the amount of competition nearby (and even farther away), it's worth the extra drive to avoid Golf Mill entirely. For about a year, I brought a fairly new vehicle here for service. After three or four attempts--and even involving GMC corporate--the issues were never resolved, ultimately forcing me to buy a new car. Vehicles sit on their lot for days without priority, and it's obvious the technicians are Googling or YouTubing the problems, because the "solutions" they offer are the same generic ones you'll find online. Before you can even finish explaining the issue, they immediately ask if you're leaving the vehicle and push hard for that option. They also allow Saturday appointments for problems they know can't be fixed on Saturdays. When you arrive, they tell you the technicians who handle those issues aren't there and ask you to leave the car until Monday. Why allow the appointment in the first place? More recently, I bought an $80k new vehicle from them, only to experience multiple defects within two weeks. The lack of customer service is unbelievable. The sales team and leadership don't even acknowledge you when you walk in--even when they know you just bought a car from them. They take zero ownership or responsibility for their products or services. I had to reach out directly to executive-level corporate leadership, and not a single person from Golf Mill--including the GM--reached out about the situation. It's clear that customer service means nothing to them; once they get the sale, you're on your own. Do yourself a favor and take your business elsewhere--whether for service or a purchase. This dealership is not worth the inconvenience, frustration, or time. I will never return. read more

I needed help with a small problem with the gas cap cover on my Chevy Spark. Sean came to check me in and said it might be a body shop problem but he'd check it out. He could have led me to an expensive problem. Well Sean fixed the issue in one minute and checked to make sure there was no other problem with it. First time I have ever posted a negative review: If you purchase a vehicle from Golf Mill Chevrolet, you will probably use the service department since the vehicle may be under warranty. I have been using my ten-year extended platinum warranty at this location for the past six years and have seen a tremendous decline in customer service the past few. Last week I had the same electronic control module / grill shutter error that I had in 2022 that was covered by my warranty. This time I was told it was not covered under warranty and paid $1309 for the repair then saw the notes on my receipt. "Found there was multiple repaired (sic) on the wire circuit, found they did a poor job and resulted in the wires being corroded and causing issues, found that they installed a new connector as well and did a poor job as well, veh needs a new connector" At 8am, I asked for a manager, Mark, who said he would call me back, days passed and no phone call. Next week Mark said the technician is wrong to have written that and it is not true. IF SUPERVISOR SAYS THEIR MECHANICS ARE WRITING FALSE INFORMATION TO CUSTOMERS...this is a bigger more concerning issue. In my case, this could have been handled by first, calling me back in a timely manner and saying they made a mistake in 2022 and will fix it at their expense. Their poor work (in the words of their own mechanic) voided my warranty because of corrosion. I emailed the General Manager after my conversation with Mark and three days later no reply. I have put a credit dispute on my credit card and Golf Mill Chevy has lost my trust in servicing or purchasing a vehicle read more

I didn't buy anything from here but just wanted to take the opportunity to note that the staff here was very helpful. Frank is the welcoming manager I spoke to on the phone and salesman Nate Devitt showed me on site what I was looking for. Basically I had an inquiry on their Suburban and Tahoe SUV models. I saw this dealership spring up from an ex and vacant Best Buy corner location into this full fledged dealership. They now have a large inventory of both used and new Chevrolets on site. Brought my 75 year old father's Buick there in July, he loves his car and wants to take care of it. I recommended he go to a dealer vs an independent repair facility, boy, was I wrong!!! He paid $6500 for multiple repairs, one that included shocks... they used the incorrect shocks (his car has magnetic ride control) they had the nerve to tell me "the correct shocks are too expensive" and they made the decision for us to use the WRONG parts. We brought the car back in October (I was trying to figure out a solution with the previous service manager who got let go) because since the repair, it will not go over 80mph, I emailed and called for the GM and was never connected with him. The service manager told me there is nothing they can do to help my father who gave them $6500, no refund, no repair. The service manager also told me "it's probably a good thing he can't go over 80mph" the bottom line is the vehicle went over 80mph when it arrived at Golf Mill Chevrolet, it does not anymore and it is directly related to the work they did for $6500. Golf Mill Chevrolet hung a 75 year old Vietnam veteran out to dry and they will do the same to you!!!!! Avoid at all costs!!!! read more

Would give them ZERO stars if it were possible. My experience with them.... Went in for transmission issues. Was quoted for a "new transmission" to the cost of $7500. Spoke with Tracee the service writer over the phone and was told that the only way they could make the bill cheaper was to see if they could install a used or rebuilt transmission but they wouldn't guarantee the work. She said with the "new" transmission, it would have a 3 year/unlimited mile warranty. Being that I plan on driving this car for at least a dozen more years, I opted for the NEW transmission. Came in Wednesday to Pick up and pay for the truck and upon looking at my receipt, they had installed a remanufactured transmission. This wasn't authorized by me to have a REMANUFACTURED transmission installed. I signed paperwork for a new transmission. I was quoted $5600 at AAMCO to do install a remanufactured transmission with the same warranty. I feel as though I was ripped off and mislead by this dealer. This is my 7th Chevy from an dealer and I can promise you that I will never return to this dealer for service or to purchase anything from them. I will also post on every review site of my experience as to make sure my friends and friends of friends don't patronize this establishment. Classic bait and switch. The best part is the service writer Tracee won't even escalate this issue to her managers attention. I was ripped off by this dealer who refuses to address these concerns. this is one of those reviews that you wish you could leave negative stars. The overall arrogance of the service manager only added to the issues. Our story began on October 10th, 2022, when my sons car was towed to the nearest Chevrolet dealer. Two weeks later, $500 in uber bills taking uber to work,and several phone calls by us and a direct visit to the dealership (we couldn't get the service advisor to return our calls) we finally were able to pick up a loaner. and then the stories began, they claimed that he had a rodent nest in his engine area that had chewed wiring and components, including one they said they would order and install to see if it fixed the problem. (Mind you,in order for this part to be installed, they would need to take the entire transmission apart. Seemed odd, but we were told they would let us know so we could make a decision on whether we would fix the vehicle or not. We called a couple times, no updates. still waiting on the parts, blah blah. We finally just stopped calling. My son had a loaner to get to work, and we figured we would deal with it when this mysterious part finally arrived. Near the last few days of December, my son received a call asking, "When we were picking up the repaired vehicle, that had been ready since November 30th!? Wait? what? I called, very confused. Did the mystery part arrive? why did we not get a call to confirm an estimate to repair. She was as confused as we were. We were told a battery was installed and to come and pick it up. We headed there, only to talk to the service manager, who said, "I told her to tell you to wait until Monday as it still needs to be driven." Again, they didn't drive it sometime during the last 4 weeks it was apparently ready? We agreed to leave it, although, he pushed to get their loaner back (my son, would of had no way to go to work) The Dealer plate had expired on 12/31 and the service manager said "we would hate to see your son get in trouble for expired plates" wait? what? Again, confused, we told him he couldn't return the loaner until we were certain he vehicle was repaired, so at least Monday. My son went to the dealership, and they changed the plate. Now, let me take this story back a bit. The mysterious rodent nest disappeared, with no evidence of such, and they claimed the car was good as new with just a new battery (which was installed without an estimate or our permission) We felt very uneasy, we all of the different stories etc...and my son and I were not about to pick up his car without my husband (who travels for work) with us. But, now, as we put off the service manager for a week (so hubby could go with us), he calls me, my husband (who is out of state), AND my son. He tells us he needs his loaner back, he would hate for something bad to happen, and our car paperwork and the repair were finalized. He was going to start charging us for storage. The loaner no longer has insurance... the list went on and on. He also told me that my son received 2 speeding tickets for 100 each, and those would need to be paid as well. At one point, he offered that we could pay on the phone and they could drop off his vehicle at work and pick up their loaner. I wasn't comfortable with this option since we had so many things going on here that didn't add up. Yesterday, my son and I had our first day off together in awhile, hubby was home. we took this opportunity to go to the dealership. The service manager was very stand offish with us. Ultimately, my son left the dealership. we stayed, paid "our bill" and left. In the car, on the way home, reviewing the tickets, we discovered they weren't even for my son's loaner! Are you kidding me? Clearly, I was angry when I called the service manager. He told me I'd been aggressive with him and was continuing to be aggressive. He kept talking over me and arguing regarding the tickets. He completely avoided answering me regarding Illinois State law requiring any repairs over $100 require an estimate. He ended by stating he would look into the tickets and would call back. Of course, he didn't call. There really was nothing to look into... my son's loaner was white, and the vehicle in question was black. and this morning, my son's car had the exact same issue as when it had been towed to them 3 months ago. NOW, once again, he is without a vehicle to get to work. we are back at square one. I am beyond angry. we have been lied to, cheated, and they have committed fraud here. DO NOT TAKE YOUR VEHICLE TO THIS DEALERSHIP EVER! read more

Golf was a very welcome improvement - they correctly identified the problem (leak in the battery system radiator), gave us a loaner while the car was being fixed, and got the job done completely and without any headaches. So my negative review will be coming back up. $70 for an oil change is way over priced. Customer service then calls saying I needed some other stuff done and I denied it at this time. Then said person gives me attitude on the phone. 2 hours later for a tire sensor swap and an oil change, my car was finished. And it's the last time it will be coming to this garage.
