Once our warranty from the dealer was over I started a hunt for a trusty local shop to take my future business to. A few months ago we had a full brake service here, resurfacing rotors, swapping out new oem brake pads and a full brake system flush with fresh brake fluid. It's now time for our first oil change away from the dealership and I have nothing but praise for this shop. They are courteous and tentative to details. Expect to be treated fairly. We received fair suggestions on upcoming services that we may wish to perform to keep this vehicle in top shape. You will not be subjected to any up-selling or being screwed out of your hard earned cash. I have one other vehicle that I plan to bring in for service shortly and as soon as my warranty expires on our third vehicle in the household I will also have it serviced here. The mechanics have earned my trust and this shop will likely keep all my business for years to come. read more

My only problem with My Bad Boys Auto Repair is that they are located in Concord and I live in Santa Cruz! I took my 2005 Toyota Prius to Bad Boys after it shut down on me on the freeway while in commute to a family function (turns out that my car had a recall on it for the bad water pump). I was in unfamiliar territory, and didn't know who to call. I was impressed with their reviews on Yelp, and I just had a good feeling. They were really patient with me (I was really stressed) and worked hard to get my car done as fast as possible because I was basically stranded away from home. They took the time to explain everything to me in detail, they gave me many options (expensive parts / high quality to cheaper parts / less quality) and the ups and downs of both options. They rush ordered the parts and fixed everything in one day so that I could be on my merry way. I liked them so much that I had some other upkeep work done as well, and I truly believed that they had the best intentions with me and weren't greedy or lazy (like so many car repair shops in my hometown!). I found out later that I could be reimbursed for the repairs, and Peter went out of his way to contact Toyota and get me reimbursed for the recall. I had to change my brake pads for my 2010 toyota corolla, called him and asked for a quote and he provided very reasonable one, also he was kind enough do it on same day and done with in a hour.. I was in last week for my 2004 Corolla, and I told Peter I would update my review. I was shocked to find I have never left one. I have been going here for about three or four years now. I was also shocked to see a few negative reviews; they don't match with my experience at all. Peter and crew always go out of their way to make me happy. Even same-day, if it's a manageable job and important, he always fits me in somehow, despite how busy they are. And all I have ever seen is work BETTER than the specialist foreign mechanic I went to before, and no exaggeration, at literally about half the price. The other mechanic shop was totally ripping me off most of the time (for over 10 years, I am ashamed to admit), and I trusted them. I felt pretty violated and upset when I found out. For the first time ever, when the oil and filter is changed in my car, when I check it afterwards, it is almost completely clear, just like out of the bottle. My other mechanic not only over-charged me, but cut corners... the oil was never nearly as clear after an oil change there. I am not a car guy, so it is important to find a mechanic I really trust. For the first time, I feel I truly have that in Peter and MBB. He always seems honest and very upfront and fair. He will tell me what really needs to be done now, what would be best to be done now, and what can wait awhile. I never feel like he's pushing repairs for business, not at all. He will also actually show me parts, problems, etc., while the car is on the jacks if necessary. He will offer you the old parts (which I personally don't find that useful since to me, the issue of trust has to go deeper than that... for example, he could just give me parts from another same (or even different) model car, and I wouldn't know the difference without research). And he always says things like "this is a very common issue with this model at this point (mileage/age)". Peter always seems extremely knowledgeable and enthusiastic about cars and from talking with him, you can tell he's a total car guy. And importantly, he is very fair in pricing. I just did a repairpal check on his pricing on my recent service, and it it came in under median fair price for this area. So is there some truth to some of what was said in some of those negative reviews... probably. I am sure Peter isn't perfect nor him or his mechanics immune from making occasional mistakes. And no doubt, they as a pretty young and small shop who offers really fair pricing, may not have all the best equipment for every situation yet, but I am sure he is working up to rounding out his equipment as his finances and needs dictate. Most of all, I think Peter's character and integrity (from everything I've ever experienced there) is the most important aspect. I find it hard to believe that Peter wouldn't do just about anything within reason/fair to make a dissatisfied customer happy again if really given a chance and approached in a respectful and reasonable way. read more

MyBadBoys was terrific, they troubleshot two different issues and fixed them perfectly. However, they went above and beyond by taking my wife back and forth to our house. They even came along to pick up our toddler from daycare due to timing. I can't thank them enough for their honesty and flexibility. read more

Really impressed with my first visit here. I just needed a simple oil change for my Porsche Panamera and not only were the prices reasonable but Peter still serviced my car with me being 45 mins late. I had a very good experience. My car had issues with the starter and more. They diagnosed and kept me updated. Both Peter and Nico are honest and explained the details of the repairs and what was needed. Plus they didn't make empty promises like having your car ready by a certain time but you can see, it won't happen because they had many repairs before you. I have never before written a review on Yelp but I have benefitted for Yelp on various occasions and felt it was time to "give back." I foundy Bad Bous via yelp some months ago and while I wasn't a huge fan of the name and the image it conjured, I was impressed by the reviews. The bottom line is that I found him to be honest, conscientious and knowledgable. He serviced my car and did a fine job so we also brought in my wife's.
