My son's car wouldn't start when he was in Chandler yesterday. We live in Arizona City, so he panicked right off the bat, feeling stranded. This is his first car, was his first breakdown, and he has only been driving for 2 months. After a few minutes of calming him down and directing him towards our insurance's road side assistance, I asked him if he had any water because it was hot outside and I imagined it was getting really hot in his car. The assistance was at least 30 minutes out. He said he had already drank all of his water and that he would walk to find something to drink. Low and behold, Auto Zone #02769 was just around the building from where his car was parked. He went inside and asked for help. I didn't catch the name of the associate that helped him, but I want to thank that gentleman from the very bottom of my heart. As a Momma Bear, when my kids are scared, I get emotional, no matter how old they are. There wasn't anything that I could do to help my son, but Auto Zone came to his rescue. Thankfully it was just the battery. I asked the associate if he would take a credit card over the phone for the replacement and he said sure. The purchase was flawless, the installation was very quick, and my son was back on the road in no time. When he got home last night, I gave him the biggest hug. I called the Gilbert road location yesterday asking about resetting my OBD check engine light. I was told that it was no problem. They do the reset for free.. send my girlfriend up there today. . Two or three guys working behind the counter but not one of them would come out to the vehicle to even look at it. I could see if only one employee was there working but three employees.. She went there before and was told that they did not reset the OBD units. On line, one of their perks was resetting the units. Today is Monday, Aug. 25th. Those employees need to be retrained as to what their job requirements include. Went to O'Reilly's and the employee was great. Came out, reset the unit and done. Think about this issue next time you need parts or service. Auto Zone employees are too lazy to do their job and help customers. That is the nature of their business. read more

I ordered a part online, it said the part would be delivered to my house the next day. That was fine as it saved me a 20 mile drive each way because the store 3 miles away didn't have the parts. The parts were supposed to be delivered between 9:30am and 11:30pm... I "tracked" the part 2 or 3 times and the times never changed... I arranged my day around that delivery. At 12:15 and still no delivery I tracked it again. This time it said "before 8:00pm". Even though I used their request for updates I never go one. read more

So I asked what would make yall say no we can't help you & he said "we will have to look at the car & see if we could help you." Disappointed that when I came in to have my battery checked they didn't seem like they wanted to help me. After I received a battery check they told me they didn't want to change my battery because it would take too long (I was on the phone with my mechanic who told me it should only take 10 mins). Incredible service! I walked in to get new wiper blades. The lady greeted me, asked me for my car's info, walked me over to the exact part, checked me out, and proceeded to COME OUTSIDE and swap out my wiper blades for me. Absolutely floored and impressed. Great experience!!! read more

I came out of my gym and my fob would not open my car door. Unfortunately I left my cell phone in my locked car. Fortunately there was auto zone in the parking lot next to my gym on Alma School and Germaine. I went in there and told them my fob wouldn't work and I couldn't get into my car. The gentleman in the store changed my battery and walked me back to my car. He showed me that I had a key in my fob which would allow me to open the door. I never knew that. He was so very helpful and I am only sorry I didn't get his name. He never even charged me for the new battery. I would most certainly recommend auto zone on Alma School and Germaine in Chandler. My boyfriend went in here recently to buy a headlight that was $100.00+. He went back as he realized it wasn't what he needed and although he didn't have the physical in hand proof receipt he had the online receipt. She told him that she could not do a return because he didn't have a receipt when online it showed his previous transactions on his account. Imagine paying $100 for a small headlight you didn't need and it didn't work then turns out you can't do a return. Autozones policy says different then the B.O. smelling woman up front. She continued to fight him on it and when he went to another location he easily got store credit for the headlight which should've been done in the first place. Teach your workers the autozone policy, rather than someone who doesn't work there and knows it better. This was not a warranty item therefore he had 90 days to return it and AT LEAST receive store credit. read more

I have purchased from this location several times and have always got great service. This past Sunday, they were spot on in their price for the fan clutch and new radiator I purchased and really helped with the tools I borrowed. I have seen the employees out in the parking lot performing free diagnostic checks on multiple occasions and even performing repairs. read more

Very excellent customer service!! Took a look at my car before going back home (takes about an hour or so), and noticed that I was extremely low on engine oil. I tried looking for a place that sold engine oil and Autozone was literally not even 5 minutes away. I went in, asked where the engine oil was, and he lead me to the section with no hesitation. Unfortunately, their system was down so nothing was running up on their computers. This meant that paying by card wasn't going to work, but this employee was so generous enough to give me the engine oil AND put it in for me (I was tired and it was dark lol) with no charge. I wish I could've gotten his name :( but I will definitely be coming back here if something else is needed for my car when I'm in the city working. read more

It's an auto parts store. Duh. This particular location is fairly small, but they seem to have many of the basics. Anything you need for oil changes, radiators, etc. Plus some extras like license plate frames and covers, headlight lens cleaners, etc. The few times I've been here the staff has been pleasant and helpful. I went to this store for oil and a filter for my 6.0 diesel. I like that they carry motorcraft filters. The staff was more than helpful. Andrew or Andy was the guys name. he was professional and helped me carry the 4 gallons of oil out of the store. This will be my store from now on. read more

I received GREAT customer service over the phone, but that's where it stopped. I came in to get my $5 part, and was informed over the phone they could install for me, seeing as I am car illiterate. They started to help, and then just seemed to vanish back into the store. 45 min later I was good to go. I left with a 50/50 shot that I will ever use this location again. Sucks because it is so close to home, but... I might drive an extra 3-5 miles to another location and hope for better results. read more

Thank you for your kind and fast service. My car had trouble starting, so I took it to Desert Car Care, down the street from my office, to get my battery tested. It felt like a dying battery to me. I arrived at 12:15-ish. The lady said that everyone was at lunch, but she could check and see if someone was available to test my battery. She came back and said "Actually, we can't get you in until Monday." I stared blankly. Then she said something about a full diagnostic and blah blah blah. I couldn't believe that they would let someone drive off with an iffy car battery in this heat. I drove to AutoZone (thankfully my car BARELY started), and they tested AND replaced my battery within 10 minutes. The tech was so kind and efficient. read more

I took my car in for a burnt-out headlight, hoping they could fit me in because I didn't want to end up driving illegally at night. Steve D. took a lot of time in triple-digit temperatures to struggle with first the cowling, then the headlight, then a burnt-out fuse. As good as it gets customer service wise. The kind of friendly, eager service that almost surprises you, and prompts you want to write them a review because its so rare these days. I was helped by Danny, who tested my car's battery. When it was so low on voltage it could not be tested, he removed it in order to go charge it for me. This was all done even though I explained I may not be buying a battery there, as I was also covered by AAA. No qualms or hesitation to help me at all.
