Woke up to a dead car battery this morning, got a jump and drove to AutoZone in Goodyear (Estrella store) Az. I was still under warranty for the battery so since this is Arizona, I told them to upgrade me to an AMG type. The manager Hector ok'd the upgrade to just pay the difference, so it only cost me $22.00. Gavi and Jennifer installed the new one with professionalism and I was out of there in less than 15 minutes. I Had a very unfortunate experience at this location. My car battery was under warranty and the workers tried to help, but didn't necessarily demonstrate exemplary customer service. I was told I had to return to the store I bought it from to essentially get a refund. I was told I did not need to bring the physical battery to get the refund. 20 minutes later, I get to the original location and a much more helpful worker explains that I actually do need the physical battery, and I could just do the refund at the other store. So I call the store manager (from the first place) and you could tell he just had no idea what was going on. I returned to retrieve the battery and plead with the manager, explaining that I think I could do the return there. I was met with profane language, and left with an overall sense of discouragement that this issue would be solved. read more

Looking for some special racing oil with zinc in it- that was recommended to us for my sons new go kart he got for his 10th birthday. After stopping at fry's for gas, gas tank and then hitting up Ace hardware- they had decent amount of regular car items but just not racing... Which is what led us here. Great Service Recently, I had to have the battery in my car replaced. I was so glad I made my initial purchase from Autozone. As I entered the store I was greeted and asked if I needed any assistance. I advised that my battery probably needed replacing. My information was taken and I was informed that my battery was still under warranty and there wouldn't be a cost associated with the replacenent. I was back on the road within 20 minutes. Employees can be more knowledgeable. Taking parts out of a vehicle outside of an autozone to show an employee that doesn't know the correct sizes is beyond frustrating. The young Hispanic boy with sleek black hair and glasses that wears BLACK GLOVES gave me the wrong sizes and information and did not correct check if another auto had the parts I needed. Huge shout out to Rob he helped me and getting my check engine light taken care of when other mechanics have told me that it was something else all together. he found that my spark plugs were resting instead of screwed in properly causing my park plugs to misfire. I explain to him that I've gone to several different mechanics to find out the problem for my check engine light and never got a true response seriously this man saved me if you want to go anywhere if you want to see anybody see Rob he will take care of you. Back story on Rob, he owned his own business at one point and loves a good whisky. great man to have you by your side if you need help. It was complicated by a broken housing which needs to be repaired but he patiently completed the job and got me safely on the road again until I can epoxy the housing or replace the whole mirror! Outstanding service!! I had to note and review. My wife's battery went dead. Brought it to this auto zone. I can't remember the name of the associate that assisted me. Tall skinny African American gentlemen. Helped me as soon as I arrived. Tested my battery. It was dead but thanks to warranty they replace for free. I had a 2nd older battery that I forgot to bring in last time. So it's been in my garage for about a year and a half. I asked if they could take it, the associate said they would. I was just happy to get rid of it. As I brought it in I found this associate looked up my history and found that I could get a refund for this old battery since I never did. I bought antifreeze from this place a few days ago. The lady helping was being stand off-ish. (How are you acting this way and you work for a STORE, your WHOLE job is customer service) I paid for my stuff and asked if she had a paper funnel OR a sales paper to funnel the anti freeze in the car. (I was strapped for cash at that and didn't want to waste an extra 3-4 bucks on a funnel.) she tells me she doesn't have any paper ones and that they didn't have ANY sale papers in the store I could use and that if I needed one I could buy one. I leave and on my way out, I grab a sale paper from the front door, YEAH, the same one she said she didn't have. (There's a stack of them). As I'm walking out and grabbing the paper her and the other worker begin to laugh. Seeing how it was 100+ degrees outside and I didn't have the energy to confront or say anything more I just leave. So two days later I return to return the same antifreeze because I never ended up needing it. A guy (heavyset older man) helps me out and is giving me attitude the ENTIRE time. I have said nothing besides I would like to EXCHANGE the antifreeze for an actual part that I need for my radiator fan. He says alright. I then express ONE MORE TIME, because it doesn't seem like he caught anything I said the first time. Does he listen after that.... NO! He has me sign for a return and says the money will go back on my card. (once again I'm strapped for cash seeing how I just bought a radiator fan and tools to replace the fan and new hoses) I tell him that I needed to EXCHANGE the antifreeze for the connectors I needed and he says "Well it's too late now I can't cancel the refund" I SWEAR TO GOD IT TOOK EVERYTHING IN ME NOT TO CAUSE A SCENE. How are you 40+ years old and you STILL haven't mastered the art of LISTENING! I take the refund and have my friend pay for the parts I needed. I then go up the street to O'reily's where they were even nice enough to give me tips on how to replace the fan and even gave me a funnel to take home and bring back! I thought it was just THIS specific incident and THIS specific store but today I picked up my Plates from the dealership and had to buy screws to hold the plates, and got the SAME RUDE SERVICE AS BEFORE. And ONCE AGIAN! I'm at O'reily's getting WAY better service and advice than at these super crappy autozones! In my honest opinion I think that some of these workers are arrogant and take pride in being rude. YOU SELL AUTO PARTS AND CAR ACCESSORIES AND GIVE CUSTOMER SERVICE. Do you know that the guy at O'reily's literally had the phone on one ear answering questions WITH A SMILE, all while ringing a customer out & greeting people as they walked in and out of the store. Purchased 2 batteries 3 days ago. Didn't end up needing them and never even installed them, found out vehicle had another issue. Came in today to return them and was met with nothing but rudeness and misinformation, was told "we don't have $300 in the store to give you a refund and it will take weeks to refund it to your card, come back later in the day after we get some sales". So here I am, 7 hours later, talk to the store manager Michael Coleman about returning them, he gets real dramatic about how he is going to have to throw away 300 dollars worth of batteries due to a 10 cent red plastic cap for the post missing. I informed him of my earlier conversation and was never told about any of that. If i would have known i would go in the trash and find some. All in all he returned them after a bunch of register slamming, huffs puffs and a statement about me getting them tested before I throw 300 bucks down the drain, let's be real, he didn't want to take the negative money in his till for the day for a return, not a plastic cap. read more
