One of the managers Shaheed S. Was extremely helpful, this gentleman assisted me and made me feel cared for. Excellent customer service skills and a very sincere personality. This is the first time I've ever been to this store, as I'm not from the area however do frequent Oakland quite often. I ran into a mechanical problem on the way into work. However, left all my diagnostics tools and hand tools at home. Operation of the store is very smooth, I'm sure it is to this gentleman being one of the folks in charge. Great customer service!!!

Went in today as a brake light was out in one of my cars. This is close to home so I went here. Been to this location a few times before for wipers and washer fluid before a Tahoe trip and for some other things - a battery a few months ago I can remember vividly. Again, went here to get my car started again as its the closest place. On my trip in today I quickly found the book to figure out the light bulb # that I needed. So happy they had it tied down and that it was easy to find. All the bulbs were in their place and it seemed to be well stocked. Two people were working the registers and one security guard was inside by the door - dont try to steal anything here :) The two people at the registers were working very hard. The phones were ringing off the hooks and the people kept coming in. Standard store, happy to have them in the neighborhood but they do need more help in there.

Medium size AutoZone. You might want to check out the San leandro hub for more selection.

So many auto parts stores reply 'we don't accept oil right now - all our tanks are full' - and I've never heard that from this location. Its very simple - you drop it off in their original containers and it has to be only oil and there is no issue. Beyond that I went in for some diesel additives for my CDi - I really like that car - it replaced my Pitzaaat and its my freeway cruiser and I know the engine will last to one million miles but the downfall of these cars is always the injection system. It can cost $5k+ to rebuild them and then $3k more for all new fuel hoses and injectors and intake cleaning and so on. In short the low sulfur since 2006 that ruined diesel lubricity and so the wear on the injection pump mostly fails at 200k - 300k when all the rest of the drive train will happily soldier on for many more miles. The only solution is to add something to the diesel fuel: XPD all in one, Hotshots secret everyday or Power Service or similar. I heard even adding a bit of Marvel Myster Oil works but I didn't see the data - I know the above three work and I know that this location has Hotshots and Power Service. I bought a bottle of each and will alternate with ever fill up. While I was there I bought some LiqiMoly for my Honda - Jectron - and while it was in the tank the car ran silly smooth - it usually jitters a little like a person with too much caffeine. Oil brands can be a very divisive topic. As is oil additives. I think in general you don't need them if you go to Chevron and change your oil often. If you have a diesel I would recommend you research the fuel lubricity topic yourself and make your own call on it. If you do buy a new $100k diesel truck - there is a lot at stake that perhaps a $10 bottle could help.
