I've lived in the Springfield area too long to be just now trying Avanzare. This place exceeded my expectations. We were able to walk in on a Monday evening at peak dinner hour. Feels like you are walking into a nice hotel. Very clean and inviting. Everyone who served us was friendly and attentive, especially to refilling our waters. I ordered a dish that had homemade noodles, Yaya's pasta, and it was decadent. Probably in my top ten dishes! A creamy vodka sauce with tons of shrimp, salmon, and mushrooms. Loved the bed of zucchini strings on the top. I enjoyed every bite and even had enough for a take home box. Husband really enjoyed his steak dinner. Cooked perfectly and very tender and flavorful. He chose sides of mashed potatoes and seasonal veggies. The homemade breads and pesto butter are perfection.

I recently had dinner here for a business meeting and was impressed with the experience. The food was great, the service was top notch and the overall ambiance of the restaurant is very fitting for a higher end Italian restaurant. I started with a Caesar salad, with fresh crisp romaine, a perfectly light Caesar dressing and freshly greased Parmesan cheese. For my entree I had the Chicken Masala, the wine and mushroom was decadent and one of the best over a juicy tender chicken breast and perfectly made mashed potatoes. This was all washed down with a Negroni Bianco. Overall it was a tasty meal in a great setting with excellent service. I'd check them out again for sure.

Avanzare: Underwhelming & Unimpressive. Yes, people go here and act like it's all that. But too, we're in Spfd Mo...and people think Olive Garden is some great Italian meal. lol...come on...lol. If this is what Avanzare is, after moving into their new building...I can assure you...I will (not) darken the door again. Calamari: no seasoning on the fry and tasted mostly like flour. Calamari delivered to the table fairly ice cold...and it's a fried dish. $14 Filet: An ok cut of beef. But...not seasoned hardly at all. Whole sage leaves atop the steak...stems and all to pick off. The new potatoes tasted way way earthy....and only about 1/2 way cooked. The asparagus was of a good quality...but not seasoned much. Price: $52 I believe. Ribeye: again, a decent enough cut of beef. Failed in fully executing on a great flavor profile. Gorgonzola cheese topper was good. $46 Oh, the service or attention to detail: Orders (2) salads in the table. Did we ever receive? Nope. Notta. And the place wasn't even that busy on this night. You want a good Italian place for Spfd?: Bruno's downtown. Nicola's on the east side. Either one of these places...dwarfs this new rendition of Avanzare. 3 stars is a gift rating for this place and tonight's performance.

We were in town and dropped in for a dinner meal. Just can't say enough of this place. A very welcoming atmosphere. The hostess was friendly as was every staff member we encountered. Dawn was super friendly and professional as was Gyasi H. We enjoyed the crab cake as an appetizer. The Linguini Allá Avaanzare dish was exceptionally delicious. Kudos to Al! Enjoy!

Food and service here is always good. We went with the walleye dinner special for most of the table and it was very good.

More crab than cake! Delicious! Not fishy at all.

Tony Tone Toni has done it again! I had prosecco and a few glasses of red wine thanks to Tony! I had the crab cake app and the rigatoni and pecan shrimp dish. Fire. So so happy to see this hardworking business owner be blessed with such a beautiful restaurant. Gorgeous open atmosphere and a packed parking lot. Way to go, Tony and Co! Cant wait to come see you and Allen at the bar again next month!

I wish I could give 10 stars for this restaurant. The place was a little dark on the outside but nice you walk inside it is very nice. We were greeted at the entrance. I was little concerned if we would be seated because it was close to closing time. We sat in the bar area and Dawn served us. She was so friendly and knowledgeable. They make homemade bread everyday and the Cesar salad is a must to order. We ordered linguine with shrimp and mushrooms, it was so good. I also order a side of pasta with red sauce. Everything was delicious.

Restaurant is part of a strip mall. Plenty of parking. The service was excellent and that's what brought it up to 4 stars. The restaurant is loud, we were seated in the back room with a TV and it was nice and not so loud! Started with complimentary bread with pesto or butter and oil in the table. Solid start. The bruschetta was very good. Bright, fresh, refreshing. I had the rigatoni minus the chili flakes. Rigatoni was good, not the best ever, perhaps due to not having the chili flakes. Well made. Fresh ingredients. The flavor was solid but nothing stood out. I kept the leftovers and it made for a nice lunch the next day. Good portion sizes. It was a nice meal, if looking for Italian in the area, had a good variety of options, especially if one doesn't eat pasta.

Loved it! We had wine, salads, entrees, and dessert. Everything was a treat from start to finish. Our server was calm and collected and provided excellent service the entire time. I had the Rigatoni Alla Tony and my date had the steak tips special -- both were delicious. The steak was absolutely melt in your mouth perfection. We both had a caprese salad, and shared a delicious creme brûlée for dessert. An expensive choice for a night out, but we felt it was worth the cost.

One of my favorite restaurants in Springfield. Wish they'd do something different with the entrance, though.

The others had eggplant parmesan and said it was the best they had ever eaten. One ate Italian nachos and did not care for it, but she's often times disappointed with what she orders in restaurants. The bread sticks were right out of the oven and excellent. The salads were fresh and very good. The dressing was outstanding and one person in our group bought a big bottle of it to take home. The birthday ladies were gifted a dessert. We all tasted the amazing lemon cake and Tiramisu and both were delicious beyond words. Parking is right out front with easy access. Reservations are recommended. We ate early at 4pm when they opened on a weekday. Highly-recommend it, if you're one that dines early. They offer a separate room for big groups. I'll rate Piccolo's as the best dining experience in the Ozarks!

Service was attentive, we started with a bottle of wine & bruschetta, the wine was good, the bruschetta was soggy and falling apart when picked up. As we were waiting for our entrees we noticed the delays from the kitchen, server bringing pasta to a couple on their anniversary for him and saying the pizza was just on its way out of the oven, it never arrived, the gentleman finished his pasta and still no pizza, she cancelled the order and they left. The table behind us also had no meals, the server said the chef forgot to make them, they finished their drinks and left. The table next to us, 1 of 3 meals served and finished and then 2 lasagnes arrived, both of which were still cold in the middle. They were all annoyed and just took them to go. Finally our meals arrived, I believe we were waiting on the bolognese as it seemed hot and fresh, mine however was not the hottest and has a film on it as it had been sitting a while. I believe the bolognese was not worth almost $40 but the other one was well priced and delicious. Ended with a tiramisu which was dry which was disappointing. So a disordered evening with angry diners did not make for a fun night out.

Unknowingly, I started "scrolling" to find a place to eat and was sucked in by pics of the food and ambiance! So I mapped directions to Cafe Cusco only to find it was next to another great restaurant I had been to during my last trip. Walked in and the hostess, with a welcoming greeting and smile directed my single person party to a four top. Turns out she ended up also being my server and bartender!!! Lilly was her name and she was on top of it all. I believe there was at least one other server. I shied away from apps as I was not sure about the serving sizes as I was not famished... I started with a Pisco Sour that Lilly recommended and she also recommended the Lomo Saltado for an entree. I chose to also have the Ginger Caipirinha. For dessert I had the Quinoa Pudding and a cup of coffee. Beverages were well balanced with lime tartness, great cinnamon presence and over all flavor was refreshing! The Lomo Saltado was very flavorful- def get your salt intake for the day, but it works so well! There was a house hot sauce at each table. I taste tested the hot sauce and decided to liberally add to the dish! A symphony of flavors! The slices of tomato in that Saltado sauce was ... mmmmmmmmm GOOD!! Naturally the tenderloin was packed with Saltado flavor too! I ordered up the Ginger Caipirinha (which did not disappoint either!). Both beverages stand on their own merits and I cannot choose which was better... maybe the sour?? So... then there was dessert... I cannot recall the last time I ordered dessert... quinoa pudding???? I mean... I like quinoa... but do I ever go out of my way to eat it?? No... but add some sweet coconut cream, cinnamon and... wait for it... Black cherry COMPOTE?!?????!!!! Damn! Am I glad I got that dessert! You MUST save room for this! Such a great amalgamation of flavor and textures! Cheers Cafe Cusco!! You've got a great gem here for great prices to boot! Lilly was very busy, what may have lacked in some attentiveness (due to how busy it was) she made up for in her awesome personality, pleasant disposition and great suggestions! Chillin' in haute Springfield?? Check this place out! Cheers!
