I go here frequently for happy hour after work and it's always a great time! They've got delicious and reasonably priced drinks. Their strawberry Margaritas and espresso martinis are must tries. The wait staff is so friendly and helpful! Overall, it's a fun vibe. Definitely recommend! read more

I had 20 people and we sat in the back patio area which was so pretty and gave us lots of space to mingle. My whole group did bottomless brunch and the servers were really great and attentive. Solid spot. I went there for the Wednesday burger special only to learn the special doesn't start until 7pm. This is a little annoying because that information is not posted anywhere. I'd also suggest having that special available outside of prime dining times would likely drive sales, but who am I. Had a great time celebrating my birthday at Avoca! Rory and his staff are so nice and easy to work with, they genuinely wanted us to have a good time. We had about 20 people in their covered back yard space, and we were allowed to bring decorations and cake (no cake cutting fee). Food and drinks were great too. After seeing all the wonderful reviews online, I decided to host my birthday party (for 12 ppl) at Avoca and I'm thrilled that I did. Even with the rain, the super cute outdoor patio space kept us warm and dry. The food and drinks were all really delicious and the staff did a great job keeping everything flowing smoothly. There was also a good mix of vegetarian options. Rory, who organized the reservation for me, was super helped and communicative. He even checked in with us during the party to make sure all was going well. Overall we had a fantastic time. Highly recommended for parties and large groups. read more

This place has always been a hit! However my experience today was been awful. We received very little service and attention for brunch and when we address the owner, he asked us how was everything. We expressed that it was awful and was a lot of delay between our drinks and our food orders as well as missed items from our order. The owner instead of apologizing he defended his bartender that has only been working there for one week. He said she was the sweetest and she would never have missed any orders at all when she in fact missed five. He then said to "if you weren't happy with her service then don't come back"! The drinks may have been good for others, but the service was terrible. There's no drink worth the service we got. The bartender served everyone around my husband and me, including the two couples who came after us. He willfully ignored us. Put bottles in front of us to be refilled, mixed drinks for other people where we sat at the bar, while acting as if we weren't there. When my cocktail came out it was overflowing with ice - yes some cubes fell on the bar - and the drink filled less than half of the glass. We spend a lot of time on the UES and this is the worst experience we've had. I hate to say it because it hasn't been my experience at other places, but as the only Black couple in the entire restaurant I can only deduce it was because of who we are. I might not have let it bother me but one of the couples who sat opposite my husband and I mouthed the word, "Sorry." I was checking this place out for an event! Shame on Avoca we will spend money elsewhere. We will never go back. I've already started letting our UES friends know. read more

Great for events! We had our engagement party at Avoca and the service and experience was above and beyond! They kept the drinks and food flowing for our entire party and helped with anything we needed. The drinks and food were amazing and they allowed us to decorate the back patio as well. Wonderful brunch. Ate at a table in the lovely outdoor patio area. I can't say enough about how dog friendly this restaurant is. We were given a corner table with ample room for our dogs to be comfortable and they even have a dog menu! The brunch punch was delicious and I really enjoyed my avocado toast with one of the highlights being the accompanying potatoes. I would definitely recommend this restaurant. A large group (about 15) came here for brunch on a Sunday and had such a great experience. The bar was super bright, clean and welcoming. Some of the group opted for bottomless and others did not and there were no issues which was great. All our food was brought out together with no errors. Just got home from drinks and apps - thrilled to have this new addition around the corner from us. The place was hopping with a good crowd, and excellent sound track. Got 2 seats at the bar- the martinis were perfectly made- followed by lamb siders, tuna poke bowl, and truffle fries- all very well done.
