However, the mis-management of this company combined with the lack of attention to detail of the majority of technicians we've had out these past two years has led to repeated customer service failures. I've captured more detail details below if you want more than an overall summary rating. Be forewarned their technicians are nice, and at the end of the appointments, which may only be diagnostic and not actually the fix because they need to wait for parts and then to come back (which has been where the majority of our issues have been), they ask you to give them a five star review so the technician gets a $25 performance gift card, which skews overall service ratings. Most recently our 4 year old, warranty covered, HVAC broke again (4th time since a company bought out by FH Furr installed and FH Furr fixed 3x before). It happened on a Saturday night, and we called first thing Sunday morning. They told us the technician who had the part we needed was off that day so we had to schedule for later in the week. We were out of town 4 days, then the morning of our apt, 45 min into the arrival window, we got a call saying the technician has the wrong motor, they will have to order a new part, and then when they get it in a few days they will call to reschedule. This our final straw but keep reading for more history. Something just like that happened before on our HVAC. But in that case they ordered the wrong part so we had to wait for the first part to come in, then wait for the right part to come in. During another HVAC fix they identified an issue, ordered a new part, installed it, then ID'd a second issue. I appreciated that the technician was forth coming that they should have caught that during the first diagnostic call and apologized we would have to wait for a part again. The fact that they took ownership would have made this fully forgivable if we didn't have so many other issues. They also ordered a part for a fix that was supposed to come in in a few days but I called a week later and it still hadn't come in. I called 4-5 days in a row, then finally I asked to speak to a manager and they said they can use a different, universal part instead of continuing to wait. It wasn't clear why there was such a huge difference from when the first technician said the original part would come in vs the actual timeline, but I suspect based on some of my first calls that the part might not have been ordered at all until I first called to check on it. We had a toilet not fully flushing upstairs and they quoted us $200 to fix it, but recommended the toilet itself may continue to have problems because of the design unless we replace the whole thing, so we should consider that long term. After half an hour on YouTube, and an $8 part from the local hardware store, my husband was able to fix it himself and we haven't had an issue again in the last 6 or 7 months since that issue. A theme you may pick up on is how often I have had to call them for follow up. Some of the technicians will admit that if you don't hear by xx day from dispatch, you should call them and ask if your parts have come in yet. We have definitely found that to be true on both HVAC and toilet calls. In our experience it could also be hours before a manager calls you back if you ask to speak to one. We bought the maintenance membership so we have tried to make this work, but at this point I can't waste anymore time micro managing nor can we rely on them to be responsive or do a job right. Save yourself the stress and money, avoid this company.

I had several additional requests which they accommodated such as adding an extra drain line and additional return vent and all the work was done as requested. Since completion of the job, they have come back on routine maintenance visits to keep the system up and running and the cost of which was included with the original work. I therefore. have been very pleased with after-installation service. Separately, I used them for plumbing, specifically replacing a sink faucet, repairing a garbage disposal, and repairing a leaky shower fixture. I was very pleased with this service as well. Especially the garbage disposal because all it needed was a minor turn of a crank to loosen it up instead of a full replacement, which saved me a significant amount of money. Obviously, overall, I'm very happy with their services. I will be using them again and highly recommend.

It's unbelievable but some companies required upfront deposit even before assessment of the issue. Our technician,Brian, was on time, called prior, came with shoe covers, quickly identified problems with toilet, gave us estimates and couple options to think about. I called next morning and next business day he returned and completed repair. Again on time, very professional and leave no dirt or waste after job. Prices are horribly high now everywhere, but plumbing can't be avoided,so their price point is adequate to area, but service is superb. Can't deduct star for high prices, because they are using gas and supplies which are horrible now.

We understand electricians don't patch the walls, but they also did not have to make our walls so dirty full of scratches and skid marks. More care should have been put into the process as they installed new wires. We got a quote from them, and booked their service. They promised to come between 8 am and noon on an agreed upon date. On that day, however, they were missing in action. No call (despite their promise of calling us to confirm the exactly time, on the morning of). No message. We had to call the company headquarter many times. They kicked us from one person to the next like football. No answer. No updates. Each time we called (starting at noon) they'd say the electrician should arrive in the next 20 or 30 minutes and he'll give you a call. Nope! Nothing. Finally at 4 pm the electrician showed up. We asked him what was the hold up. He said coldly: you have to ask our office. The job of installing one chandelier to the ceiling of our dining room took them 4 hours! It ruined our evening plan. They did not finish up until 8 pm! We were supposed to go to our friend's house for dinner (and they cooked a feast) at 6:30! Bad service. Mis-communication and bad communication. Badly done job (lot of traces left on our wall, see photos).

We own several rental properties, and we trust John Nugent and Son with all of our heating and cooling maintenance because they are always reliable, professional, and incredibly helpful. Scheduling maintenance isn't always easy since most of our tenants work Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. They can usually only leave work a few hours early on Fridays and often aren't home until after 1:00 p.m. Even though the normal afternoon appointment window is 12:00-4:00 p.m., Vincent went out of his way to accommodate our scheduling needs and worked with us to make everything as convenient as possible for our tenants. That level of flexibility and customer service makes a huge difference when managing multiple properties. We truly appreciate Vincent's professionalism, responsiveness, and willingness to help. Thank you to Vincent and the entire team at John Nugent and Son for consistently providing excellent service. We highly recommend them!

Anything that needs more than that-- they did a terrible job!!! Today I realized they should have installed a GFI outlet so that I could install a corded garbage disposal. They did not (in fact ALL of their GFI outlets had to be looked at twice, and it took them three or four attempts to get our dual switches properly configured.) I did not whis review, I ant to write this review, really, really wanted to give them every benefit of the doubt, but they even argued with the drywall people and refused to do some of the work downstairs. I still have a "naked" outlet in the basement hallway I guess they just did not feel like they had to finish. Pitiful quality control, poor oversight of work. Managers are only bean counters. Supervising electricians need supervision themselves. I think all these guys have ADHD and just don't pay attention at the end of the job - because they never scheduled for delays. There was also an issue with the Code Inspections, and this was one of the main reasons we hired John Nugent and Sons. Original estimator/electrician did not want to estimate the job with new code standard built in -- even though he knew the new code requirements would be legally required at the time of insection. He counted on insector giving them a pass on it. Don't use these guys for any remodeling work. They are OK with "discrete" limited jobs that might go to a day or so. Did good with outdoor lights. Don't use them for complicated jobs. At least they speak English and were always polite to us. One guy might clean up but the others won't unless reminded/you complain about it. Always seem rushed. (I expected more from these people.)

He identified some issues, but never told me what the required repairs would be. Then he told me that the repairs would cost us 75% of the cost of a new unit. He said that the AC unit needed to be replaced and possibly the air handler and even the water heater. This last recommendation made me skeptical. I asked for a quote on the repairs and separately on the cost of replacement. He said that replacement would require another 90 minute appointment; which I was not ready to commit too. I was expecting a quote and detailed listing of the repairs. We never received this quote. Based on the technician's description of the issues, my husband and I were able consider some potential repairs on our own. We made the repairs on our own (coil cleaning, capacitor replacement) and everything seems to be functioning well so far. My concern was that AllTech immediately jumps to a recommendation of replacement if a unit is older than 10 years. We never received a quote on the cost of repair. The repairs my husband and I made required roughly $30 worth of parts. I wish that AllTech would have provided the quote for repairs and not immediately jumped to the cost of an entirely new AC system. Also suggesting to replace the air handler and water heater was excessive.
