We went here on a Saturday night around 6pm. It was busy with both dine in customers and a lot of takeout orders. We sat right away and the server was fast and friendly! The inside has lots of tables and it is a casual dining area. There are lots of rolls to choose from and the ones we ordered were AMAZING! We ordered the New York, sunshine, butterfly, and Las Vegas rolls. They were super flavorful and had lots of sauce; which we like. Found this place with an almost 5 star review, walking distance from our hotel. We were excited to try it out. The sushi was good, fresh and lots of different options. Coming from San Diego, I thought they put a little too much sauce on the rolls, making them almost too sweet for me. But flavors were there and the fish was fresh. The food was absolutely delicious, and reminds me alot of my time in California where sushi is the very best. I don't know what it is but I've been crazing sushi so much lately! Awi Sushi is a new-to-me spot though and I'm glad I tried it. They're tucked into the corner of Crossroads Collective food hall, and I popped in to grab some quick lunch to-go. Both gentlemen working the counter were so sweet and friendly! Their menu is vast with tons of great options, so much so that it was hard to decide. In the end I got the spicy dragon roll since it was on special and sounded tasty! It sure was. Crab on the inside and spicy tuna on the outside, what's not to love? It's the best when you see your sushi being made fresh right in front of you, and that's what you'll find here. This place has a good selection of sushi for a reasonable price. There is plenty of seating. Service was slow and any time the server said something I literally could not hear her. She was basically whispering. That was pretty awkward, because I had to keep asking her to repeat herself because I just couldn't hear what she was saying. Woah!! Great price, great vibe, great service and great sushi!! Stopped in for a lunch to go and didn't have to wait. Ordered two rolls, one of which was the baked avalanche. Amazing. The rolls were so tasty and the fish was incredibly fresh. It was melting in my mouth like only good stuff can. Very high quality for super reasonable prices on the rolls! The Sushi lovers deal was great. It was fresh and it came with 5 rolls, 6 pieces of sushi, salad and one miso soup. Plenty of food and delicious... we especially like the two baked rolls. The only knock (1* deduction) was for not giving us 2 miso soups... seems petty not to give 2 soups since the meal is for 2 people and the entire meal contains a TON of seafood which is the expensive part. Ordered tons of sushi as take out one night and it was all so good! I had never heard of Awi until I was hanging out at a friend's house and decided I needed all the sushi! Very expensive but I couldn't decide which sushi I wanted so it felt like I ordered them all. I cannot remember which rolls I ordered, but I did take photos of how they came packaged. Great service. Tried Naked Stinky roll (favorite), sushi cupcake (very good), and one of the sushi burrito (good).

So so good, I went online and looked at the pictures the sushi burrito got me right away. I got the burrito #1 on the menu. It's so good and I'm glad that the ginger tasted juicy. Glad I found parking right out front but it's so congested downtown. I'm definitely going to comeback. The staff seemed really nice as well. read more

Food is AMAZING!!!! I got the Avalanche roll, It was beyond good! I usually struggle to finish a roll.. and I didn't want to share this one! Hubby got the Yellowtail jalapeño- said it was delicious. Only complaint. Pieces were THICK.. lol... not really a complaint he was happy about all of it. Ginger salads were HUGE and so refreshing. Staff is top-notch- attentive without being overbearing. The quality is top notch but the average price is ~$11 per roll, which is really cheap compared to their competitors. Online ordering is fast and efficient, but so is stopping in and ordering at the counter. I haven't dined in yet, but the ambiance seems pretty modern and clean. I tried Awi Sushi via EatStreet delivery tonight for the first time and had a quite pleasant experience! I called the restaurant as soon as I realized that I hadn't put a phone number to the order, and the woman who spoke with me was very congenial and helpful. I live on a busy street downtown in a condo complex, and our intercom never works properly, so it's never a good idea to just leave things at the door. She wrote a nice message on the order for the delivery person to phone me once he arrived so I could meet him downstairs. Most considerate, and my order arrived quickly! I was SO impressed with the quality of the nigiri (yellowtail and salmon) and the tasty sushi burrito, and the teriyaki wasn't bad either! I'm picky about sushi, so I was very happy to have that melt in the mouth tasty fish cuts. To top things off, their prices are surprisingly affordable, especially for above average sushi. Now I have another good sushi spot, and it's close to home! I am kicking myself for not trying them before... Thank you Awi Sushi! read more
