Pleased by the comfortable interior. The outdoor signage suggested a chain restaurant experience which was not the case once you entered. A bit quiet for a Friday night but that was fine by me. Food was great. Very tasty and severed just right. Service was quick and efficient. Overall, I'll be back to this one.

BEST sushi I've had in the Midwest! The atmosphere is very calming and elegant. The menu had so many options and a good variety to satisfy different sushi tastes. I personally adore any type of roll with cream cheese or that's deep fried. If you're the same way, I highly recommend the Tim's Roll and Godzilla Roll! The King Crab Rangoon is also a delicious treat. If you're looking for a great local sushi stop, Sakura is your place! Their dine-in seems to be fully up and running, but they had numerous take-out orders being pushed out while I was there.

Good selection of menu items to pick from. If you're unfamiliar with the items to pick from. Try coming during the lunch special time frame from 11am to 3 pm Monday through Friday. Also if you're on a budget come during this time frame. This location is comparable to a few of the other restaurants in the area so you can't go wrong with what you pick

I just had lunch at Sakura today. I ordered the Nabeyaki Udon which I have had at other Japanese restaurants. This one was unimpressive and was overpriced at 13.00. We asked for more veggies since I had only 2 mushrooms and our request was denied by the manager. The service was poor. There were less than 10 people and it took multiple request for napkins and over 30 minutes for our food. Clearly owners do not care about quality or reputation. I would not be surprised if they close down soon. Don't waste your time or money here. My packaged Asian soup would have been more impressive.

Based on YELP reviews, we decided to check out Sakura after seeing a movie in Menomonee Falls on Sunday, 8/17/14 at about 7:00PM. The location has an upscale look and feel when first walking in; a polished tile floor throughout, a dining area surrounded by a live Bamboo (garden box) perimeter, a Sushi Bar, a full cocktail bar and high-backed leather booth seating. I ordered a Jack Daniel's on the rocks ($8.00 - a bit pricey for the pour) after being told by the server that they only had a "well scotch" and no "Dewers." We ordered two entrees; the first: the "Sushi Deluxe" plate which came with five different types of fish (two pieces each) accompanied by a Tuna Roll. The fish was AOK: Mackerel, Tuna, Salmon, Yellowtail and another undetermined type of White Fish. ($22.00). The second entrée: Shrimp Tempura ($15.00). The shrimp was also AOK. Both meals came with a small (head) lettuce salad tossed with a house ginger dressing and a Miso soup. After finishing our initial order, we re-ordered and asked for Smelt Roe/Quail Egg sushi. The server had no idea what Smelt Roe was so, in its stead, we ordered Salmon Roe/Quail Egg. It was good. Our server was initially hurried and short with us, but slowed down a bit and had more patience as we talked with him and asked him questions. All-in-all, my personal experience over the years with Sushi Bar restaurants is mostly in Los Angeles, where the majority of the restaurants are a bit more traditional and owned/operated by folks of Japanese ancestry. IMHO, although an AOK experience all around, Sakura would not do well in Los Angeles or other megatropolis cities where traditional Japanese restaurants are aplenty.

Great, casual, and fast sushi lunch spot. Sushi is really good, definitely a solid 4/5 stars. They are highly attentive and quick with their service. Would be a perfect spot for a group or business lunch!

They have a great lunch special. As for dinner the service is slower and they treat their regular customers better than new customers.

I usually get the sushi lunch set, and my husband typically gets the panang curry. We've also tried several appetizers; the gyoza were decent, the fish cakes were tasty, and the tom kha soup is quite good. Prices are a little steep for appetizers. The chicken in the panang curry tended to be rather overcooked, but the sauce is fantastic. The spicy tuna roll is good, the Alaska roll is standard fare, but the Fire Dragon roll was excellent. We also tried the Milwaukee roll and that was good too. My only significant complaint is that the sushi set has increased in price (by removing one of the items you're allowed to get with it). On my two previous experiences, you could get two classic sushi rolls, a miso soup, and either spring rolls or crab rangoon. On this last visit, they've redesigned the lunch set menu and now for the same price ($15.95) you can still get two classic sushi rolls, but then you only get a choice of one side -- soup or fried item or salad item. That's disappointing. They do offer the choice of getting a premium sushi roll instead of the two classic rolls for the same price, or for $23.95 you can get even more (though I don't recall the specifics). So while I previously thought the sushi lunch set was an excellent value for the price, I was bummed that they'd reduced the amount of food you enjoy for the price instead. And as a sidenote, the Thai tea is smallish in size compared to what you can get at other similar Thai restaurants. At $4.50 it's not that great a deal. All that said, I'll be back for that Fire Dragon roll. That thing was excellent.

They need to have an online reservation system. Calling ahead is fine but with no many people answering the phone reservations get messed up. My kids love the show the Chef puts on - he flings vegetables into everyone's mouths - or at least try's to! He does an adult type drink squirt into your moth if you wish from afar. He then used a little boy peeing bottle and shoots water into kids mouths - it's fun and the reason my kids love going there once a year on our annual trip. The things I noticed this year is the portions are not as plentiful as they were in 2018-2020. The server we had was very slow and either didn't know the menu or substitutions really ate no longer allowed. Which makes no Sense - we wanted to substitute the noodles for white rice and said we could not. A side of noodles is $4 and a side of white rice is $2 so don't see why we couldn't substitute down. Kids had to pay for two sides of white rice even when they said they didn't want the noodles. Also asked for Some sriracha suave and server came out with a small to go cup of sweat and sour and said it will cost $1 for the sauce ???? The cup was like a small Jell-O shot with a lid. So unsure if they are trying to nickel and dime their customers. They did do a nice birthday presentation that was free and threw in ice cream for my daughter which was very nice. I guess at the end of the day you have to balance what you prefer - a good show and good birthday celebration or a small meal with anticipated add ons.

Although there was a considerable wait for our meal, it was certainly worthwhile. Our appetizers also took some time to arrive, but they were fresh and hot, making the wait worthwhile. The samosas were delightful, and the crab rangoon was my personal favorite, perfectly filled and fried, with a well-balanced accompanying sauce. The beverages offered a unique taste, distinct from typical orange juice or mango juice, and were acceptable. I am uncertain about the Thai iced tea; my sister found it to be watered down and bland. Perhaps it was a different type of brewed tea than one might typically expect for Thai iced tea. Our appetizers and food were served by a robot, which was quite an interesting experience. We also had an actual server who took our orders and brought our drinks, but the robot was indeed a cool addition. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals. I highly recommend trying their sushi when you visit. I particularly enjoyed the dragon BBQ eel rolls, which were so delicious that I promptly ordered another, the crispy tiger roll, which was equally delightful.
