We needed a new dryer for one of the laundry rooms in our building and as is used by several units we needed a good dryer fast and for a good deal (as we have to buy and maintain multiple appliances). Called Aztec and they were very helpful, even found us a good deal on the right dryer from their open box stock, sent pics of it so we could see condition and got delivery scheduled for a day later. Great customer service and good prices and a local company not a big box chain. read more

We've used Aztec a few times and it's always been a pleasant experience. Our contact Rudy has always been helpful until our last purchase of a washer/ dryer for a rental. We manage a non-profit and offer housing for those undergoing treatment. This rental houses someone with stage four cancer and his young family, an inside washer/dryer kept the family at home rather than going to a sketchy laundromat. It made sense to buy this appliance, but it's been nothing but a pain. The unit stopped working over 8 months ago. We purchased the extended warranty from Aztec and have made dozens of attempts to get it serviced after it stopped working. No one shows up and Aztec has been totally useless and it's causing undue stress on a family that already has enough to deal with. I'm regretting not giving our business to a larger operation that can honor their customer agreements. At this point we may have to buy a new washer/ dryer unit and seek reimbursement from Aztec via small claims court. It's unfortunate since we try to support smaller, local businesses whenever possible, but I now have no faith in Aztec Appliance, it seems they've been working pretty hard at losing our business with the way they handled this issue. read more

Let me tell you about the great experience I had with Aztec Appliance. Back in February of 2023 we bought a new general electric French door refrigerator. From the second we got it there were issues. It started making weird noises, condensation in the refrigerator, icemaker breaking and finally, the freezer stopped working. We had the GE appliance technician out a couple of times and they never were able to diagnose or resolve our issues. The technician even said it looks like he got a lemon. We called Aztec compliance and spoke with Susie and she could not have been more helpful. She listened to our issue, committed to talking to the GE rep and ultimately we got a brand new refrigerator right before the Holidays. She couldn't have been more professional, she stepped up and did the right thing. Do yourself a favor, don't go anywhere else in San Diego to buy your appliances, shop at Aztec Appliance, you will be glad you did. read more

Worst customer service ever!! Buyer beware! Go to another place! They gave me the run around and would not return my calls for days.. I asked for a refund still waiting for my money. They were quick to take my money for a nice refrigerator but not to deliver the goods... they were talking about it taking over two weeks to get the refrigerator..... BUYER BEWARE, YOU DO GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR This was a learning experience. At the end of the day we did save money, but I feel like the money we saved was countered by the time we lost trying to get our order right. The old dude with the glasses was our initial sales person and our intro to him was as my wife was looking at a refrigerator and trying to get the doors to close. Sales guy says, "Mame, it's a $4000 unit of course the doors will be adjusted and work when you get it delivered". Well sales guy the doors did not work and in fact had to be completely replaced when we bought said fridge, strike 1. Second, the dishwasher we bought, which was brand new, also didn't work and had to be replaced altogether. Lastly, the stove, well we are still waiting for the back eye burner cover that was missing when they put it together. They said no problem we'll order you a replacement. They did not, at least Joe did not, and Joe will not return calls when a sale is final. The lady that sets up deliveries and gets tasked with doing these orders is also useless. Today in 1/21/2020, our order was delivered in July of 2019, I'm still waiting on the eye burner. I've called and talked to that lady 7 times and been assured it will be ordered and called when in it does...crickets. I think she just hangs up and keeps watching TV. I found the piece on Amazon in 5 minutes. This place is all flowers and sunshine when you are looking to buy, once you do, good look. I guess we did save money, and I guess the eventually did replace everything that was broken or wrong(except said eye burner) but this is probably the worst customer service EVER! I get it, you sell, and you move on. Cool, just get my order right and fix the issues in a respectable amount of time, oh and communicate. They will never reach out to you, you will ALWAYS have to contact them to get them to fix their mistake. Once again, I would give them one star, but we did save money...I guess. Anybody considering this place, please take this review into consideration. I understand wanting save money and still going there but please just know. The older sales guy with the glasses and moustache, Joe the closer, and the phone lady are not your friend. Heck, they are no one's friend, they are useless. We have about 15 stairs just to get to our home and delivering a 400 lb. stove was no easy task but the guys did it with respect and understanding and I applaud their efforts. ZERO STARS IF I COULD.. We are so bummed about our experience w/ Aztec.. Its so true "YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR"... Discount Prices=Discount Experience! After having a terrible escrow when purchasing our first home (sellers SOLD the appliances that were under contract to come WITH the home) we had to scramble to replace the refrigerator, washer, & dryer.. I was so hopeful when I found the Outlet! I'm happy to take a dented/out if box appliance for a lesser price! We're a young family now facing the never-ending costs of homeownership so this seemed like a great option! I came in the shop, looked around, & Joe Torres greeted me & answered a few questions about the appliances I was interested in.. He told me the clearance appliances could be further negotiated & because I was planning to buy 3 appliances he assured me they'd work with my budget.., I forgot to measure prior to coming in to the shop so Joe asked that I follow up via email.. Later that day I measured & emailed him to confirm the order for the 3 appliances I was interested in.. I included my budget & photos of the 3 appliances I wanted. After not hearing back for 2 days I called & left a voicemail. We were now IN the home (with small children!) & NEED a fridge... I didnt get a call back.. The next day I attempted to reach out again, this time a little more pressing because we NEEDED the appliances, really WANTED to close this sale.. It took 5 days & several emails/phone calls before I just went DOWN to the store to finish out the sale.. How awkward/unprofessional... Why?? Didnt they WANT to close a sale? So odd.. Well, Joe DIDNT meet my budget, actually didnt go a dime lower than what he initially quoted me even though he told me we could further negotiate on clearance items.. But at this point I felt desperate to just get it done! We were coming off a super stressful escrow/move & now THIS..? It felt so much harder than it needed to be.. Was it ME? Was it a mean joke to not respond to my emails/calls..? So confusing.. So by the time we completed the sale 5 days after initially contacting to complete the sale I was then told it wouldnt be until well into the following week that they could deliver... Had we completed the sale on the day I attempted to it wouldve been a 2 day wait for delivery.. Now we're looking at ANOTHER 4 days AFTER the 5 day wait??! What? Its 2019.. Go rent a uhaul if you have to, hire guys overtime & SERVE YOUR CUSTOMERS... Again, YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR.. *Im* the fool for thinking I could be mindful of my families finances AND get good service... So the day comes for delivery.. 2 men show up & show me my invoice & say "You didnt want installation, did you? Because you didnt pay for it.." I am livid now.. "WHAT? OF COURSE I DO!" So he tells me "Well, you can call the store & pay over $100 or if you have $40 cash we probably have the parts to install.." So I agree to give them $40 cash.. Im just so annoyed because I specifically said I needed delivery/installation.. And now this guys showing me the invoice that says I DIDNT pay for installation.. So they get to installing.. Take off the door to fit the fridge... Put the door back on but now it doesnt fit the frame right.. (!! COME OOOOON !!)... It dawns on me that I have a copy of my invoice in my email (took 3 phone calls AFTER the sale to get it emailed)... I pull it up & I DID pay for installation!! These guys are hustling me!! Man, SO disappointing.. They ALTERED the invoice to hustle me for cash.. So I show them my invoice & offer to call the store & straighten things out & they quickly wave me off "No No, its ok..." CROOKS!! So as if the terrible transaction wasnt sloppy enough & the installation wasnt crooked enough they then pull off the plastic wrap off the fridge & ITS THE WRONG FRIDGE... The wrong appliance all together, a different finish even than what my other appliances are.. I just am defeated.. Ive got no fight in me left.. Aztec has already shown dishonest service, no respect for me/my family, terrible terrible business practice ALL AROUND.. I attempted to contact the manager directly but after a voicemail to his cell phone & a few follow up calls he did not respond... I DARE you to fix this.. Purchased Electrolux Dishwasher from Aztec Appliance and paid for installation. About 14 months I noticed water seeping through the exterior walls of home. Wet sheetrock, water damage, and, mold were discovered. Source of the water leak: grey dishwasher discharge hose connected underneath the kitchen cabinets to a black rubber hose tube with a ninety nine cent "worm gear clamp". Aztec Appliance employees should have purchased an Electrolux dishwasher drain hose of the proper length and installed the dishwasher discharge line drain properly with one continuous hose running from the dishwasher to the main discharge line leading to the sewer under the kitchen sink. I called Aztec Appliance owner Gene McNabb and explained what happened. I explained to him that a homeowner's insurance claim had been filed. I was asking to be reimbursed me for my out of pocket expenses not covered by insurance ($1,791.00). Owner Gene McNabb assured me he would pay me for my losses. He said he was responsible for his employee's actions and wanted to take care of me. He offered me $1,791.00 in store credit but I declined his offer because I already had appliances and was out the cash. However, after 45 days of endless delays and his inability to return phone calls I realized owner Gene McNabb does not really care about his customers. The water and mold damaged area was not visible to the human eye for 14 months until the water, finally after leaking during discharge from the dishwasher for 14 months, seeped through the flooring, and outside through the stucco. During the time the dishwasher was installed by Aztec Appliance and the time I became aware of the water damage the dishwasher discharge line was never touched, changed, removed, replaced, or modified. Update: Filed Better Business Bureau complaint for desired resolution at mediation. If not resolved by end of October 2016 will file lawsuit in Small Claims Court. Aztec Appliance failed to install the Electrolux Dishwasher properly resulting in property damage to my home. My interest in resolving this issue is based on the principle of what is right. Aztec Appliance owner Gene McNabb should take care of his company's customers when they are harmed by the faulty actions of his employees. read more

Great prices. Great selection. Better than Lowes, Home Depot, and Sears. We've been searching for a refrigerator for several weeks at the more comercial spots but the selection was either weak or the prices were too high. We decided to try Aztec Appliances out of desperation. To our suprise we found what we wanted almost immediately. If I knew we could bargain a bit, I wouldn't have acted so contempt with the sticker price. The salesman offered to knock the price down without us asking. We actually picked up the same fridge as my parents had, but for hundreds less. The warranty was only around $100 too. Aztec Appliances is in a low overhead warehouse which seems to keep the prices lower. Be prepared to bargain. read more

He listened to my needs, he was assertive and accomodating. I miscalculated measuring the space I was going to place the washing machine so I had to end up returning the machine. Matthew, the delivery guy, gave me the correct measurement so I knew what to look for. I returned to Aztec and Joe was able to find a machine for me that would fit. We finally decided to replace our 20 - 30 year old dishwasher (hello tax credit) and we went looking for the best prices from all the big chains and even through some little ones. After an exhaustive search (I have mad googling skills, yo!), this place had the best prices for the same models of dishwashers. Since we are big online shopping whores, we had no idea if the models we wanted were in stock. BUT Aztec can order them! Sweet! That's how we know we are getting good deals. The rub with the ordering process is that you may need to wait a little longer for shipping, so if you are in a rush, keep this in mind. My only complaint is the lack of response to phone calls on the status of my order. I was told the washer would come in 7-10 days. Ten days passed and I heard nothing from my salesperson. I called and the receptionist told me that only the salesman has my delivery status and he was out since it was his day off. I left a message, he did not call back the next day, so I called again. I was again told he was gone (apparently his days off are Tuesday and Thursday) and even the manager was off -duty that day, so no one could help me. What the hell? Yes, we all need days off, but....huh? I suppose this contributes to having low prices, so if that is the benefit, then fine. I can wait a day or two. We are looking for a washer/dryer soon, so we will be back to check out the prices! read more

At first glance, prices seem cheaper and friendly service so I returned a few days later to purchase a new refrig - THIS TIME, a different sales staff and different vibe...sales rep tried to upsell me on some additional item that I needed for the install (of the first item), acted surprised when I mentioned that I was promised "free" install on the first item and pointed to the $69 INstall sign on the wall...both items were dropped outside no install, and "0" reply to my request for supervisor follow-up to resolve the install snafu (!) Aztec Appliance is a place I hadn't been since I was a kid being horribly bored behind my parents as they shopped for cheap but quality appliances. Those were the days that you didn't want to roll through East Village. Now that it is time to buy a house, my husband and I stopped in to see what was up. Chris who reminds me a lot of Sam The Cooking Guy, helped us get the skinny on refrigerators. He explained to us all the lingo and components associated with the appliances. He was easy to talk to and was very kind. Aztec Appliance has microwaves, refrigerators, ovens, washer and dryers, etc. Their selection isn't totally enormous but it's definitely a good stepping stone while you're shopping around. We needed a new dishwasher when ours recently went kaput. We looked at the usual large places, ala Home Depot, Lowe's and while pricing seemed pretty good, the add-on cost of installation & delivery sometimes left us wondering, and they couldn't really give us a straight answer on how much it would cost since our dishwasher was hard-wired. So we decided to go local and had seen flyers for Aztec. They have a no frills warehouse, and we got great attention from Karen, who was salesy but nice and not overly pushy. They will come down off the marked price, so be ready to haggle a bit. Installation & delivery was handled by a different company they use, but the price was very reasonable. All in all, it was a very good experience, and we will definitely go back there if/when one of our other appliances decides to kick the bucket. read more

I was on a mission to buy a washer and dryer for my very small laundry closet. It's 32 inches deep and 28 inches wide. I called Home Despot, I was told they had a washer/dryer that would fit. The guy told me that I was better off going to a laundry mat instead. I called Aztec and got the best customer service. I was on the phone with Karen for a while; she found the perfect washer/dryer by GE that holds a lot. I had it delivered today- the guys were great. I'm surprised to see the many negative reviews. I first bought a washer and dryer here over 10 years ago. I recently bought a new dishwasher, and got great service just like last time. Everyone is friendly, and the owners took a lot of care and attention to be sure my husband and I got exactly what we needed. They spent around an hour with us. As far as the complaints about appliances starting to have trouble right around the end of the warranty period, that's out of Aztec's hands. I'm hearing about this problem from lots of other people I know. Face it, due to inflation everything from appliances, cars, furniture and packaged food is not made with the same care and quality as they were decades ago. The U.S. is going down the tubes, so short of making everything yourself from scratch there's not that many options (except buy European when you can. I still have a Bosch German-made burr coffee grinder from the 1990s in excellent working order). EDIT 9/20/13: This isn't Aztec's fault, but I wanted to let people know that I accidentally left the rinse aid cap slightly unscrewed on my Frigidaire Gallery dishwasher I bought from them just a few months ago. When I ran the dishwasher, the cap fell off into the heating element below which burned a hole in the cap. Most rinse aid caps cost $9 (probably because it's a cheap piece of plastic). Well it appears that Frigidaire has figured out a way to squeeze extra money out of us consumers: the cap is not offered by itself for replacement; you have to buy THE WHOLE FRIGGIN' dispenser for $46!!! So keep this in mind when you're buying a new dishwasher! read more

With a family you know how laundry can pile up quickly! When I found myself with a sudden need for a washer and dryer I started to worry. Where am I going to find quality appliances that are reasonably priced and have it delivered in a few days time? Keep in mind Covid has caused a landslide of back orders for almost everything!! Jordan at Aztec answered the phone and from her first "May I help you?" until the completed transaction everything was smooth. There's customer service and then there is Jordan. She knew the showroom, her inventory , time frames. Jordan had exceptional knowledge of her job and how she could help. Jordan was kind and professional. She got me the washer and Dryer at a great price. Delivery was in time and the guys hooked everything up perfectly. My new Maytag set is beyond what I expected. They are amazing !!! I actually heard someone say that they don't expect to be at this location long because the own bought the building only with the intent to sell it for the land development going on in the area. Went in looking for a GE Monogram dishwasher to match all our other appliances. We met Karen and told her why we thought we needed a new one. She gave us some tips to try first in case our was still in good working order. We followed her advice and tried these things but we still had the same issues. We have looked at other stores but not one offered the help and assistance that Karen did. She was friendly and was no pressure. We stopped by again but she was out of town and we wanted to wait for her. I called the following week and she remembered us. I was able to do the transaction over the phone and it was seamless. Cesar the delivery driver was spot on and right on time. Overall just a great experience. read more

I called Aztec and Rudy was so patient with all my questions over the phone and helped me pick out a new microwave that day without even having to visit the store. I had a lot of questions, so I can't stress enough how great Rudy was to work with and I definitely will recommend this place to anyone looking for an appliance.
