After reading a lot of these comments I've come to realize they are not real. I had an AWEFUL experience. for three day I was calling Carlos who today told me he is the owner which makes this situation even more shocking. I have been asking for a copy of my invoice to be sent to me. After three day I decided I will go in person to pick it up after calling many times and Carlos not sending. I go in person and was told to come back In two hours. I come back two hours later and Carlos is getting a haircut a guy comes up to me and says come back in 30 min I didn't want to leave and come back again so I waited for 30 minutes and additional about ten for Carlos to finish talking to the guy who just cut his hair. Carlos did not like that I was waiting there and that obviously upset him because he began to tell me off calling me and my friend entitland rude. He could have said annoyed and that I would have to agree but entitled and rude don't match our character. He begins to say he is the owner he will absolutely not give me the paperwork and to leave all this while standing and using His hands and motioning me to leave which I obviously began to do I told him he is a very disrespectful man and I can't believe he is the owner of this business. He said he has so much business he doesn't care what I think. It can be hard to find a mechanic you can trust, but Carlos and his team are top notch. I took my 2003 Sequoia with almost 200k miles on it to B&S for years - oil changes, tune ups, mechanical issues, new breaks, etc. - and Carlos and his team always took great care of me. I drove that Sequoia halfway across the country 3 times in 3 years and I never worried anything would go wrong. Carlos is upfront about work that could be done versus work that needs to be done, something I found very comforting. And he won't try to push you to do anything. The one downside is that, unfortunately, it seems that a lot of people know how good this place is because it's often quite busy... but if you show up when they open or shortly thereafter, they can usually take care of you same day. read more

This place is amazing! I had an air pressure issue with one of my tires. I went in without an appointment, they found a nail in my tire, removed it, and patched the hole on the spot. This was my first time here based on a recommendation from a friend and I've found these guys to be honest and extremely friendly. Walking into a situation not knowing what's wrong with your car can feel incredibly vulnerable. Carlos in particular was Incredibly thorough and assuaged my fears that the car had some serious engine problems (turns out it was just a bubble in my tire :). Prices were totally reasonable too. Such a difference from a place like Pep Boys that tries to sneak in unnecessary charges unless the wary eye catches it first. Couldn't have had a better experience than with B & S! read more

When I arrived - the employeeI behind the desk was speaking with a customer. I then noticed that that the employee did not have on a mask He didn't have one on his chin or arm or table. There was no mask anywhere close to him. He said " can I help you? I replied - "not without a mask" and I walked away. I don't know how good or bad their service is - but I do know that they don't enforce the employees on wearing masks - so in the middle of COVID - this is a hard pass for me! read more

PLEASE DON'T GO HERE. THIS IS THE FIRST PLACE YOUR CAR WILL GET TOWED TO IF YOU HAVE AAA AND ARE IN THE AREA. DON'T LET THEM TAKE IT HERE!!! PLEASE HAVE YOUR CAR TOWED TO YOUR NORMAL MECHANIC THAT YOU TRUST! THE GUY THAT WORKS HERE IS A F***ING SLEAZE THAT ONLY WANTS YOUR MONEY!!! so now that that's out of the way, here's the story. my gf's mini cooper didn't start up one morning so she called AAA and the guy towed it here...WORST POSSIBLE THING THAT COULD'VE HAPPENED. They messed around with the car and completely broke the gear shift, like pulled the whole damn thing out. Then they asked for $350 to keep looking for the problem...at this point I got involved, saw the horrible yelp reviews, and called my usual mechanic, who said that's ridiculous. I told the guy that was working at this shithole that and asked me how much he's charging. Obviously my mechanic wouldn't know how much he would charge for a problem that he hasn't even diagnosed or a car that he hasn't even looked at. So i told the guy I was taking to this other shop where my mechanic is, and he started saying bullshit about how that guy wouldn't have the equipment to work with a mini cooper. WTF? Ultimately we took the car to the dealer to fix whatever was the issue since it was still under warranty, and turns out the only problem was the smart key, which wasn't being recognized by anything. And now my gf's stuck with a $1500 bill to replace the whole gear shift, which isn't covered by the warranty since this piece of shit repair shop busted it. This pisses me off, and those guys at B&S Auto should get punished. It's too bad there's nothing i can do except warn other people of this chop shop. read more

Over my time as a driver I have extremely bad luck with tires. I am always getting a flat or a screw stuck in there because of these harsh LA streets. Carlos and the guys are always available at the drop of a pin to fix it on the spot and in the shortest amount of time possible. They charge so fairly and have never once over charged me, as a matter of fact, they're the best deal in town. I have also gone here for a shattered window and other small issues. I am a customer for life as well as going to refer all my friends because I trust these guys! But what really makes them special isn't their killer deals and fast, on the spot service. It's their empathy and willingness to help. I found these guys on a bad day and was crying, so upset (so girly, I know)! Sorry but these guys are a joke and a rip off. My mother in law has taken her car here numerous times because they are down the street from her house. Every time they just rip her off. She's too old to understand what's going on. She just brought her car in 3 weeks in a row for overheating. They "fix" it, charge her $400, and then the next week it overheats again. They "fix" it again -- and over and over it keeps happening. Do they even know what they are doing? The last time I came to pick her up from here, a lady walked by with her dogs and pulled me aside to say this place ripped her off and she would never come back. We finally got my mother in law to understand, after spending over $2000 and her car is still not fixed! read more

I like good mechanics and they are good! I'm particular about my car and went to tech school to be a mechanic myself. Carlos and the mechanics are professional and courteous. My prices are something I can live with. Diagnostics are everything. I've seen mechanics speculate and even quote prices from fake diagnoses or incorrect diagnosis. B & S takes their time and not moved by rushy and rude customers. The shop is small and stays packed. I suggest you call 1st or arrive 30 mins before opening. The people that come here for service are not about to let just anyone work on their cars I notice. Called to see if they could do an inspection for the car insurance company and spoke to a guy name Carlos. Other places stated that it would take over 2 hrs and/or I needed to make an appointment weeks in advance, but Carlos said it would take 15-20min, but that it was near closing and the technician was finishing an oil change. He apologized for that and then he offered for me to come in the morning. I called the next afternoon and I asked if I could come in immediately and he said that the guy that would do it was out at lunch, but that I could come in 30min (which seemed pretty immediate). I arrived an hour later and after waiting for several minutes for a few customer cars to clear the garage entrance, my car was checked immediately. Carlos was not there, but the technician (I forget his name now, but it started with a "B") with a very deep voice was very courteous without being obtrusive or causing delay--he efficiently went through the inspection and payment process. And I left 18 minutes after arriving (this included waiting for the customer cars to clear). btw: while I was in the process of checking out, he received a call about a van that had run out of gas at LaCienega and Sunset. After finding out from the tow driver that it would take 45minutes, he informed the guy on the phone that it would take at least 45minutes and asked if he wanted to try a different tow service. I know so many garages that would have just said, "the truck is on its way," leaving an oblivious stranded person waiting, just so they would get the business, but he was honest to the guy on the phone and allowed the guy to make his own choice. In other words, this business seems like its run by good peoples. read more

I agree with the other review. DO NOT GO HERE!! Worst service ever!! My car died, I had it towed there on a Thursday night, and I needed my car back by noon Friday to go out of town. The tow truck driver told me I needed a new alternator and battery, and he said they would be able to get my car fixed in time FOR SURE. He estimated it would cost around $300-400. On Friday morning I called first thing and spoke to Ray, the owner. He told me he didn't even know what was wrong with my car yet, but that he would find out within 45 mins, and that they would be able to get it done by noon. I said that if it would cost extra to have it done by noon, or if they needed more time, then I could just rent a car for the weekend. 45 mins later he told me that I needed a new battery and alternator, and that it would cost $375. Great! Just what I expected. Then he called me back and said that for only $10 more, I could get a brand new factory brand Toyota alternator. And he reassured me that it would be ready by noon. Even better! I got there are 12 sharp, the hood of my car was open, and Ray said the new alternator hadn't been delivered yet. I was rather annoyed, especially after riding the bus there, but fine. To the car rental office I went. After being gone for the weekend, I came back on Sunday and met Ray at the shop to pick up my car. Not only was the alternator NOT NEW at all, but very obviously refurbished, but he also didn't put a new battery in my car. He said that when they tested the battery it was fine and didn't need to be replaced. However, I know it is really old and could definitely stand to be replaced. THEN HE DIDN'T TAKE THE COST OF THE NEW BATTERY OFF MY BILL!! He insisted the alternator was new and claimed that he never said the $385 included a new battery. Ray is totally a crook and a scammer, and I will do my best to make sure nobody I know EVER takes their car there!! read more

These guys RULE! I have a 2011 VW cc and the water pump was leaking and needed to be replaced. The dealership told me it was going to cost around $1,200 and would that it would be 1-2 days to fix. I figured I'd call some local mechanics to see if I could get a better deal. Everyone I called told me the same thing and that they would have to order the part blah blah blah... The last place I called was B&S, I spoke with Carlos and he quoted me HALF the price everyone else did. So I brought the car in worried he was going to call me an hour later and tell me it was going to cost more. That did not happen. I got a call 4 hours later from Carlos to let me know the car was ready. No bullshit with these guys. Really happy I found them. read more
