I've been going to the Varnavas for my dental work for a decade, but it was only recently that I had to get a more serious procedure here. The root canal was expertly done and entirely painless. The crown was fitted perfectly and I don't even notice that its there now. I highly recommend this dental practice to anyone who wants exceptional dental work for very fair prices. Their Covid prep is also first rate, with masks required and worn, temperature checks for all patients, and an aerosol vacuum machine used during the procedure. My wife was very picky about dentist. Boris and Tetyana were fourth or fifth in her list before she stopped jumping from specialist to specialist. :) They are very helpful. Patient with kids and seniors. Respond to the emergency situations. Never try to do unneded extra work and charge extra money as most of the dentists do in the Bay area. In this clinic I removed 3 (!!!) wisdom teeth at the same time (!!!). Everybody knows that it is a horrible procedure and, of course, I had not had the pleasure too. Moreover, I am ashamed but I was a bad patient: I was very scared, trembled and even wept, but Dr. Varnava was very patient with me. Also, everybody knows that after this procedure people tend to have consequences. But in this case I was lucky :) Dr. Varnava did it so well that when i woke up next morning I had no pain and no swelling. Dr. Varnava has a gold hands and I am really grateful to him! He immediately took me, removed the root canal in a damaged tooth and put the fallen bridge back in place, with absolutely no pain, even the first anesthetic injection did not feel. I unfortunately have a lot of experience with problems with the teeth, the menu has 4 bridges, but so quickly and painlessly for the first time. The Doctor is just a Wizard, thank you very much. Dr. Boris Varnava is simply the best dentist! I had emergency root canal to get done and my mom recommended me to go to Dr. Varnava. He was able to take me in during his lunchtime and I was simply amazed how "light" his hand is. I have narrow and crooked root canals so he had to really get them cleaned yet it was very comfortable procedure. Even medicine while wearing off didn't give me any pain, I have very low pain tolerance and was surprised that there was no pain. Dr. Varnava is great doctor! I have Metlife insurance. Dentist said he accepts this insurance. Indeed, this was true. However, after I went for cleaning only, they convinced me to take bitewings, and ended up taking a total 9 images on my teeth, and the dentist spent 5 min, not even looking at the images, and sent me to another dentist for evaluation. Total charge to my insurance $370. Talked to Metlife. Turns out this dentist is NOT in network and can charge whatever he wants. I am very unhappy with the service I received and what was charged to my insurance. I promptly changed dentist. I would not recommend this dentist to anyone with dental insurance. read more

I no longer dread going to the dentist. I have had my wisdom teeth pulled, had a root canal, cavity repair and general preventative dental care with Dr. Varnava. No problems. Dr. Varnava is very knowledgeable and experienced. Another dr refused to perform my root canal because of how complicated it was. Dr Varnava did the job without any problems. My teeth are well cared for here and all the procedures have been relatively painless. I was surprised by how easy and pain free it was to get my wisdom teeth pulled. A+ for the doc and i will not be trusting my teeth to anyone else. read more

The Dr. Varnavas are excellent professionals in their trade. Me and my wife have been going to then for 8 years now. The location of the office is very convinient, right off of El Camino and Bernardo, parking is always plentiful. The reception area is small but cozy, stocked with magazines, newspapers and toys for kids. Nina at the front office is professional and helpful, reminding about appointments a day ahead with a phone-call, definitely a helpful touch. The dentists and the dental assistants are very friendly, gentle and patient. They also mail a postcard reminder every six months for a checkup visit. Of course, a dentist appointment will never be as pleasant as going to the movies, but still, they do their best to make the visit pleasurable and painless. They are technologically advanced, they have the X-rays displayed immediately on a computer screen, all the records are on computers. I like that because there are less chances of things slipping by unnoticed. I don't know anything about dentist technology, but all their equipment, chairs and such look new and cool. I've had various procedures done at their office, veneers, root cannals, crowns, fillings, cleanings, the Drs. are very accomodating and helpful. There were occasions when my veneer broke off(totally my fault), Dr. Varnava fixed it at no charge. Lastly, they are very good at working with my insurance carrier, they take care of all the claim paperwork, so I don't have to deal with it. Definitely recommend them! read more
