B-Man's has been my go to for teriyaki when we lived nearby. Also the Duarte location which unfortunately closed. I've read some of the ridiculous reviews and don't really think they are fair. Especially the Door Dash guy and the woman complaining about not giving free food to homeless people. I do agree the employees are not the friendliest but I also don't hold them to the same standards as In n Out and Chick- Fill-A. I order food then take home and enjoy. read more

Health Code Violation.... I was eating dinner here, saw multiple food delivery drivers preparing the order. I don't think any of them have taken a course in food preparation, or have washed her hands, but yet they're given a cup to prepare drinks for their orders. None of them washed their hands prior to getting drinks, some even held the cups with their fingers inside. I would think twice about ordering to go from here. You don't know if that person has a illness that can be transfer to your food. read more

Pretty good chicken bowl. I did not want cabbage with my bowl and was offered Mac sal, potato salad, or vegetables instead. I went with the potato salad. I didn't care for it, but I don't like onions. I could taste them. Anyway, the chicken bowl was very big, I heard the guy next to me order a mini Katy's bowl, so I think they have mini bowls. I'm not sure why but I was craving "Chinese" chicken salad a few weeks ago, and after seeing some Yelp! reviews, I decided to try this place. My boyfriend said that he'd go to this place years ago when he was in high school, so it must be okay if it's lasted this long. And it was! It was okay! Conveniently ordered online and picked up within 10 minutes. I ordered a large salad for $8.99 and it was HUGE! You got a big clamshell filled with lettuce, chicken, and wonton chips. The dressing and the chicken were really bland, but after adding salt, it was greatly improved. My boyfriend got a chicken katsu curry. I tried a bite, and it was pretty good. For as much food as you get, everything's a great value. So if you're nearby and in need of cheap meal, this might be worth a stop. read more

Menu is hard to read and so small!!! The scan for menu should be on entrance and clearly displayed. Too many paper words on the cashier area. Food here is amazing it always has been since the doors first opened. But recently the fries have not been as good as they used to be what happened what changed? The service has been pretty bad lately. A couple days ago I'm not sure if the girl is new or what but wow she was extremely rude, inpatient and she was to busy having such a bad attitude that she messed up and had to retake our order 3 times all the other employees were just staring at her until finally one came to help her. Yay B-Man's! I've been here several times for lunch and dinner. I enjoy the Chicken Breast bowl with veggies instead of cabbage ($0.50 charge). I have gotten both white rice and brown rice previously and both are great options. The cost is $8.09 and the portion is a good size. The teriyaki sauce is tasty and slightly sweet. The sauce really makes the bowl shine. A bonus is that Half & Half is next door, so you can have lunch and get a drink all in one stop. The negatives is that the parking lot is a complete mess. It's not organized well, so you'll have cars pulling in and going out of the driveway (off of San Gabriel) at a standstill. The parking rows are very long too. It takes more time to get into the parking lot at busy times than it does to find a spot. read more

My friend told me about this place and I happened to be in the area. I walked in and it instantly smelled like a restaurant...not sure if that makes sense. Anyway, there were flies in the dining area but that could be due to the strong smell and the doors opening/closing. I ordered a chicken bowl(pic) and a drink. The food wasn't bad...think Waba Grill. Food - This continues to be the replacement closest to the original Spike's Teriyaki Bowl from about 10 years ago with excellent portions historically.(depends on who's preparing the order the last few times have been a miss compare to previous times when the order was so insane that I didn't mind the prices) [-1 for consistency] will update if I visit again. Chicken/Beef plates are great served normally with rice, meat, macaroni and cold cabbage. Bowls only have rice and cabbage. The cold noodles are actually quite good, fresh tasting with great sauce that you mix into it. Spam Musubi here meets the expectation the way Hawaiians make it. Teri-Fries is a good portion of fries drenched in sauce, these days I always ask for the sauce on the side. Beware they charge for sauce here... Ambiance - The location resembles a typical small food outlet characteristic with no playground McDonald's or a flame broiler. Parking - Shares an ample lot with Trader Joe's and Half and Half tea house (Boba drinks) Service - Managers and cashiers including people that bag your food are fast polite and courteous. Warning they suddenly change their closing from 10pm to 8. Take note if you need time to order and inspect the food for accuracy. Review is mainly for B-Man's Teriyaki Burger (5 stars!) - my bf & I came after seeing it featured on The Burger Show and I am now a fan! I ordered the Cheeseburger w/ Teriyaki and Grilled Onion; my bf ordered the Double ABC (Avocado, B-Man's Teriyaki & Cheese) Burger. All burgers already come with Lettuce, Tomato, Pickles, Onion (grilled upon request), and their Dressing/Mayo(?). My bf said he would do without the avocado next time as it can get quite messy, so his order would just be a double cheeseburger with teriyaki. Their burgers have a nice charbroiled flavor and the B-Man's teriyaki sauce isn't too sweet. With the grilled onions, their dressing/mayo & teriyaki, I thought the burger tasted SO GOOD!! I think this may be one of my new favorite burgers! The flavors & burger components marry well together. We also tried the Spam Musubi and Polish Sausage Musubi, both were delicious! My husband ordered their abc burger, mini teri chicken bowl, and drink combo. Their main attraction - teriyaki chicken was wayyyyyy too sweet. In fact, they doused the entire box with sauce. I have fond memories of going to Spike's as a kid, then when this location opened up, my family would visit here as well. We love B-Man's, I love the teriyaki bowls, the curry, the burgers, everything. I often switch my meals up between a chicken katsu curry bowl, the regular curry bowl, or a teriyaki bowl. the food is always on point, comes out fairly quick, and is tasty. Also, the portions tend to be very generous for the price. The service is always pretty good, but I do warn that this location can get pretty busy, especially during the lunch hours. The restaurant itself is a little on the smaller size, but it is a quick service spot that typically will have empty tables within a couple of minutes of arriving. This is my second time at B-Man's and it definitely did not disappoint. Love the low carb menu! I ordered a protein-style plain ABC burger with Swiss cheese and grilled onions along with a side of chili cheese fries. I also asked for teriyaki sauce on the side because I didn't want my burger drenched and soggy. There's not just two tiny slices of lettuce, but actually a ton of them to encase all the ingredients. The melted cheese, juicy patty, avocado, and grilled onions really came together with the lettuce wrap and tasted somewhat like a burger salad. Even by just adding tiny dollops of teriyaki sauce, the burger became incredibly flavorful. Chili cheese fries had lots of toppings, but I thought this side was just OK. Overall, I think B-Man's is a bang for my buck because the burger is packed with ingredients and very reasonably priced. I'm already having cravings just typing out this review. We've been coming to B-Man's ever since they opened and I can't believe I've never given them a review. After all these years, everything still tastes amazing at B-Man's. The quality of the food is always good here. We've never been disappointed with the food. My family enjoys their ABC burgers the most, which is a burger with their teriyaki sauce, cheese and avocado. I love their teriyaki chicken. Their teriyaki plate is a great deal. It is a huge order of chicken, rice and cabbage salad. It is big enough to share with someone and I can eat a lot! Their Chinese chicken salad is also really good. If you get the large it is probably enough for two. Other items on the menu that we really like include Katsu chicken, Katsu chicken sandwich, chicken curry and the curry fries. On top of all that, I find that the food here is a really good value as well. We usually can get a meal for four for under $40! That's a great deal nowadays! read more

Overall, I'm pleased to say food quality has remained the same and is still relatively affordable. The GF and I split a double chicken/beef bowl, ABC burger, and the curry fries. Meat was grilled well but the teriyaki sauce was a little sweet for my liking. Burger was solid. Fries got a little soggy (as expected for takeout) but flavor was there. UPDATED REVIEW/RESPONSE AT THE END: I have been faithfully coming to bmans with my family for over 7 years. Today we came to eat and I saw a young mom with her little one in a stroller. She walked in and asked the staff in the "pick up" area for some food. She had a cardboard sign trying to explain her situation. She was quickly turned away. She looked so sad! As she was about to walk out the door I asked her "excuse me do you want something to eat?" Her eyes glowed as she responded "yes, please." I ordered her whatever she wanted and made sure she got something for her daughter. I have a toddler myself and as a mom it broke my heart to see a mom and her little one turned away. I do not know if bmans owner has a policy against giving food to those who truly need it. But, I hope this post makes them highly consider training the employees to give food to those in true need. How can someone turn away a mom and toddler from a warm delicious meal? 3 stars because the food is great and I've been coming here for years. 2 stars off for the lack of compassion displayed by the bmans employees who turned the mom and toddler away today. It is inhumane to not give food to a toddler. I worked in the restaurant industry for many years and we would give food to those who asked... even if it came out of our own paycheck. I understand we may not always be able to give food to everyone but at least for the children... Side note: I noticed they had a donation box fora charity that helps the homeless in Los Angeles. So, she has been cleaning homes but it is not enough to cover the cost of living here. She said she rents a room. She told me with tears "everyone thinks I'm lying but I'm not." And that I was "the first person to believe her." And, first person to "buy her, and her toddler food." I asked her if she had any family here and she said "no." She did not appear to be homeless but clearly in poverty. She took her order to go and did NOT eat in the restaurant. So, I don't know if she was lying to me and is the person you described above. Or, if she is being confused with someone else... but, I wanted to clarify her situation and her story as it was told to me. I have not seen her since this occurrence nor have I seen her prior. Personally, I've been to many restaurants where actual homeless people are eating and it does not bother me. But, I can understand how it can be bothersome to other customers. Perhaps, directing people who are asking for food to other resources within the community would be a helpful supplement. Instead of turning them away? Especially if they have a child or baby. Or even directing them to your organization for the homeless would be great. I told her some resources I knew off such as 2-1-1, but wish I had more.
