Tonight I was with two Lovely Ladies as they introduce me to this fine establishment. After being served by Evan tonight I've come to the conclusion of looking forward to coming back again soon. The food was fresh and very flavorful. We all share a seafood platter a burger platter and a lettuce bacon entree. Who is all excellent. The drinks were perfect and Evan's service was second-to-none. Mediocre bar food that is overpriced. Rude (oddly bordered on confrontational) and unattentive service at the bar. Very tired looking inside. Wine list was also mediocre and my $20 glass served to me was oxidized. When I asked about that, I was told the bottle was "just opened." Sticky bar top, greasy fries kinda place. The music was hip hoppy and too loud. Really like the Red Bank restaurant, have eaten there a dozen times. This one is waaaay beneath the standard set in Red Bank. Won't be back. read more

Nice atmosphere. Plates are small and expensive. Didn't love the menu options. Ordered the tuna special which was flavorless and I could have made a better meal at home. Ordered the sharing cheese board plate for 4 and there were literally 4 cubes of cheese, a loaf of bread and a couple slices of cured meat. We did mention it to the waitress and they brought out more cheese but the point is I expected more for the price. Needless to say, wasted over $100 and a cheat meal and went home unsatisfied. Ate here during restaurant week and was blown away. First course was ceviche, which was good. Second course of rabbit in a red wine sauce with broad beans and mushrooms... SO SO SO good. Stopped in for late lunch on 4th of Jul while on vacation. Our server, Jillian, was terrific. She had great recommendations for beers on tap and was pleasant and attentive. My husband had the wood fired margherita pie and, apparently, it was too good to save me a taste. I had the dry aged burger. That was the best burger I've had in some time. It was juicy and flavorful, served on a fresh, soft roll with a side crispy fries. Perfect lunchtime fare when paired with the pint of Blue Point recommended by Jillian. Today was my third trip since B2 took over this location. I eat out almost daily and usually opt for light pub fare. Today I had three things from the happy hour menu. The Amish wings, roasted clams and a salad. I must admit, I was expecting better. The last two times I've been in I had a similar experience. The sauce on the wings tasted good, the dressing on the salad was tasteless and the clams were just ehh. The food at this property does not seem to be as good as the Redbank location. They did a nice job as far as the remodel, bartender was very pleasant and the House pinot noir was drinkable. The next time I go, I will have to try some of the entrées and or sushi. read more

Last Sunday we took the family here. Busy place, a little loud, but overall atmosphere was fun. Live music was good - classic rock genre. Plan was to have apps, dinner drinks and enjoy the game - lots of screens. Service was great, food was very good (except the broccoli rabe with lemon). Great steak, great sliders, great sashimi platter. Prices were reasonable. Will def go back and recommend you try it if you go to similar places. read more

Received hanger steak that had a foul odor. Sent back and received another piece with same odor and taste. Person sitting next to me owners a restaurant and was shocked that this piece of meat was served twice. Third try was salmon and it was served raw. At this point packed to take home. Stopped by with a friend for lunch while in the area and what a surprise! We spent a long time looking over the eclectic menu that seemed to have no direction. Both of us were worried about how good the food could be considering the diversity bit were both pleasantly surprised. I ordered a salmon poke bowl which was really incredible a perfect balance of all the ingredients and generous portions. My friend ordered fish and chips which he said was really great. Both of us left with our plates totally cleaned. The atmosphere was really cool, warm colors but not too dark, not too loud inside. I can imagine during season this place will be packed to the brim!! read more

We have been to B2 twice and really enjoy the atmosphere. Each time we were a group of nine, and, collectively, have sampled a good bit of their menu. Firstly, they hired the same sushi chef from previous owner, he's excellent and the sushi and Pokè bowl menu is large enough for a great variety, but not so big that it takes 20 min. to decide. All tried and delicious: pork chop is the biggest I've ever seen, swordfish, local Big Eye Tuna, most of the tuna menu and pokè bowls and much more but I can't remember beyond satisfied friends. Only disappointment was the brick chicken (1/2 flattened) which came without the breast section, but the guest was too shy to send it back. Service was great and was told that the drinks were perfectly prepared. New interior is less formal than previous owner, with barn wood sliding doors to private rooms and it's always full at dinner. TVs behind the large rectangular bar viewable from everywhere should make for a great weekend sports hangout. read more

The food is fantastic! We've never had a bad meal or drink at B2 Bistro. We are locals and visit regularly. The dining room and bar area is very loud and when they throw an3 piece band in there, it is unbearable. The only type of live music that should be in the restaurant is acoustic. It hurts your ears. We dined there yesterday and had to switch to a table near the window, which was better, but still very loud. A lot of people were commenting and complaining about the noise level. The other issue is that the food from the kitchen and food from the sushi bar come out at different times. My party of 4 ordered 2 entrees from the kitchen and 2 sushi entrees. It's awkward when half the parties food comes out and the other half has to wait about 15 minutes. Really, B2, you need to fix this! read more

Definitely get the Crispy chicken sando- chicken was tender with an outside crunch; flavor was on point. Sushi nachos were gigantic, presented nicely on a beautiful platter. Enough to share with the entire table. Tuna was fresh and mildly seasoned. Delicious! The only thing that was mildly off was the trio pizza was a little on the salty side, probably due to the toppings, but the crust was delicious and baked in a wood-fired oven. Next time would probably go with the mushroom arugula pizza. Service was great, prices reasonable. Will definitely come back for drinks sometime. read more

Food was awesome. Service was not bad, but perhaps not comfortable/confident in their actions. We ordered a wide array of dishes from appetizers through dessert. My opinion, all food was well prepared, however some simple service needs not complete. For example, no salt or pepper on any table and was unable to grab our server, no steak knife for my steak and no replacement of utensils between courses, even after the staff repeatedly took them. In closing, a nice addition to Point Pleasant Beach and will definitely try them again. Staff was very polite and pleasant, though perhaps inexperienced. read more

After a few failed attempts at other places in Point we found this place. Really friendly bartender, quick service, priced for the neighborhood, and really tasty food. Went there for lunch..( Happy Hour/ Dinner way too crowded). Bar was nice and bartender very attentive. Actually, we there only 4 people at the bar so .... Drinks were very good. I ordered a Lobster Roll which I never do having lived on Cape Cod where the Rolls are expensive but BEYOND... big chunks of lobster w no fillers. I decided to take a chance and was SO disappointed. For a $27 appetizer, there were NO chunks of lobster and there was more chunks of celery than anything else. A ton of french fries, thou delish , don't make up for the Lobster shortage. FYI, go to New England for a FAB LOBSTER roll or Clam Chowdah~PP is a seafaring town so there is no excuse. I do recommend this bar though. Menu looks nice and a great place to mingle~AMEN read more

Wife and I just left here for lunch. We've been here several times and it's usually pretty good but not today. We both had New England clam chowder special and the soup itself had a great taste the potatoes were very undercooked. My wife had the fried chicken sandwich and she said it was very bland and had no flavor, I had the bacon lettuce tomato and avocado sandwich and it would have been gOod except the bacon was so tough that it was hard to chew through and the bread was burnt around the edges. read more

Cool bar. Love the atmosphere. Edison light bulbs, exposed ceiling, mural on the wall of wine barrels. Some booths too if you want a little more privacy. And bar is rectangular and open, which is really nice. Bar food is solid. Think burgers and pretzels and pizza. Nothing wrong here. Sadly, they have a sushi menu! Like totally weird for a bistro. And it's a page long and there's a ton of sushi apps to like tuna nachos and poke bowls. But, honestly, better to stick with the bar food. Wife and I tried the yellowtail poke bowl. The yellowtail was gray. Took one bite. And was like nope!!! Returned it. They took it off the bill. Ordered the tuna nachos. Totally gross. Like ground raw tuna rather than chunks. Way (I mean way too much) sauce probably designed to mask the smell of the fish, which was terrible. Hated this dish. So some sage advice, if you come here, which you should, stick to the drinks and the bar food. And stay away from the fish, especially the raw fish!! read more

Tried this place for the first time, despite the mixed reviews. We liked that they had an extensive Happy Hour menu, which offered several entrees and appetizers from the regular menu at approximately $3 off (nice!) The fried calamari appetizer with Korean BBQ sauce was delicious, as was the avocado crab appetizer. We had 1 specialty sushi roll each (My friend had the Christmas roll and I had a double shrimp roll) and they were both very good. We also had 2 locally brewed beers from their craft beer list (a nice assortment). The only problem is something other Yelp reviews have mentioned....constant annoying flies buzzing around in front of your face while you're trying to enjoy your meal. I'm guessing they are coming from the open air/window format. At 89 degrees and 70% percent humidity tonight, it's waaaaay to uncomfortable to eat without air conditioning. We were seated quite a ways back from the entrance so this fly problem shouldn't be occurring this far from the windows. Open air dining has its charm, but in this type of insane weather it seemed more like a management decision to save money on air conditioning than guest comfort. Visibly sweating through dinner is hardly the atmosphere anyone spending money on dining out is looking for. We'll be back...but maybe in winter, when the hot & humid dining conditions won't be a factor. read more

So far so good. I've been twice for happy hour and think that the drinks are a great deal. It's a new restaurant and I do think they have some service kinks to work out, which is typical in any new place. So far I've had the mussels twice- they are delicious!
