    Lobster Mac and cheese
    Amanda S.

When we sat down for dinner, we were asked immediately for our credit card or room number before we could order dinner - (perhaps they have had to manage dine and dashers here quite a bit). It's a super loud spot and very busy, located on the ground floor. I ordered my salmon at a medium and one can see from my photo that the exterior of the salmon is charred, burnt and you guess it- it's completely over cooked. You cannot easily find your waiter and it's very loud. However, the potato wedges were fresh off the fryer and it was the highlight of my meal. I try to be "healthy", but destiny has it that I have fries, ketchup and beer as my primary food group this evening. My friend had mac and cheese and said it was good with plenty of lobster buried in the skillet.

The food was okay, however the presentation and the cleanness were superb, therefore, I gave four stars. Also, it was a bit overpriced. The restaurant was beautiful and conveniently located in the hotel.

The hotel offered free fried green beans to elite members. Those were gross! Lol But the Shishito peppers were actually really really good10/10 The beet salad was a 5/10 and the ravioli was 8/10 and the espresso martinis 10/10 I would go back for peppers and a drink lol. But the view bar and lounge was the main reason to go there... if they weren't closed I wouldn't have ever tried this place. Good enough

Our first time staying at Marriott Marquis Hotel San Francisco & great location. We decided to dine at B55 craft house and I'm so glad we did, it was cold and rainy here. Tom was absolutely amazing, such a kind and caring person, he was so helpful, hardworking and knowledgeable. We enjoyed our dinner and everything was delicious

I had the flank steak salad $25. Beers were $14 each. Steep. But my experience with Ching's service was unmatched. She was the most attentive, efficient person I have ever seen in a hotel restaurant. The atmosphere was pretty cool. Plenty of TVs. Was a little loud in the beginning- but after the swarm of people left from the bar after their post-meeting debriefing it was pleasant. Great beers. Great food. For me, staying inside the hotel with the added security was worth paying a little more vs venturing outside in light of the surrounding area and conditions. It would have been 5 stars - but for the pricing. Service was 5. Price was 3. Hence 4.

The sad salad, with soggy lettuce

Super disappointing experience. Was looking for a quick bite to eat. Ordered a the steak salad, subbed steak for chicken. Took over 20 minutes and was missing two ingredients. 20+ minutes for chicken, lettuce and avocado (missing chilies and marcona almonds). By the time someone brought me the missing ingredients (why were they missed when they're standard ingredients in the salad on their own menu?!), my chicken was cold and the salad leaves were overly soggy from the dressing. For a $22 salad, they decided it was appropriate to discount 25% or $5.50. In my eyes, this was not an appropriate solve. Please do better. I will not be back.

I went to an event here earlier this week. It took place in the Chill Zone, so the whole area was closed for the private event. It started on Wednesday, April 18th at 5:30pm, but I arrived a little later, so didn't get here until around 5:45pm. The room in the back was set up nicely. Three tables of food and snacks and a makeshift bar. The space isn't that big, so there were chairs and a few small tables spread out along the walls. We managed to find two chairs in the back, but there was no table to set drinks and food down, so it was kind of awkward trying to hold our drinks while eating. Food wise, there was a table with cheese and charcuterie, another table with shrimp tempura, chicken wings, and samosas, and a third table with meatballs. An eclectic assortment of food. The bar served a selection of beer and wine. I just stuck with a glass of red and ordered the cabernet sauvignon. We spent less than an hour here, so a decent stop for a quick drink and snacks. I wouldn't mind coming back to try all their beers. They were only serving bottled beers at the event. Fun and short happy hour.

Other than being really loud, no issues here. I got in to the bar around 30 mins before closing. Great selection of beers on tap. I also enjoyed an order of the cauliflower appetizer as a late night snack. Bartenders were prompt and courteous.

Date: 12/27/2017 Time: 1:25 PM 60° Partly sunny After admiring all those gingerbread houses in the Marriott Marquis hotel lobby and voting for my favorite one, I decided to have a late lunch at B55 Craft House & Kitchen. I am not one to imbibe during lunch hours and I am not a beer drinker. There is no need for me to look at their selections of cold brew on the menu. Perusing the dining menu I could not decide whether to get the fish tacos or the fried chicken sandwich. My waitress, Caren, gave me more time to decide what I want to order from their menu. I opted for the three fish tacos as the main dish. First, I ordered an Arnie Palmer ($5.00). I am particular as to presentation and taste of this beverage. Presentation was okay. (I prefer a two layer effect - lemonade topped with the iced tea.) It passed the taste test, but not quite as good as the ones prepared by Justin and Travis at the Westside Club of the Oakland Coliseum. Next was an appetizer - Spicy Mexican Street corn fritters served with cotija cheese, avocado crema and jalapeño ranch dressing. Price: $9.00 for a basket. They were delicious and quite tasty - crispy crunchy texture and moist, not greasy. The avocado crema was mild and the jalapeño ranch dressing had a subtle hint of spiciness. Following the appetizer was my fish tacos. Three tacos filled with grilled rock cod, cotija cheese, cabbage slaw, pico de gallo and cilantro; avocado crema on the side. Price: $18.00. After filling myself up with the corn fritters, I could only eat one taco. My eyes got bigger than my stomach! I had to take the remaining two tacos to go. I enjoyed the fish tacos. They were also quite delicious. Service was friendly, very attentive and superb. Caren was excellent in periodically checking on me to make sure everything was going fine with my dining experience. She was also courteous and engaging in conversation. Even though the total price was $34.30 for lunch (excluding the tip), and the portions were small for the value, hey, life is short and I might as well enjoy it while I can. At least I left B55 with a full stomach and a pleasant dining experience. Return visits: Yes, for the chicken wings, corn fritters; and then the fried chicken sandwich.

This restaurant/bar is located in the Marriott Marquis lobby. It's really inviting, is casual, has a nice ambiance and a great menu. I flew into San Francisco a few days ago and decided to try this place out after I checked into the hotel around 2pm. I hadn't had breakfast or lunch, so I was pretty hungry, but didn't want to eat too much since dinner was just a few hours away. I sat at the bar, was immediately greeted by the bare tender, and checked out the menu. Really extensive beer list and good choices for wine, but the prices seemed a bit high. I get it for though. It's San Francisco where the median house price is 1.6 mill. $16 for a beer or a glass of wine is probably standard. I decided to order the Baked Midnight Moon Mac and Cheese (on the app menu) & a glass of Sonoma Cutrer Chardonnay. The mac and cheese was really good, but wasn't a thick gooey kind of dish. It seemed lighter, and less of a stick your ribs kind of dish. Don't get me wrong, it was yummy, just different than I expected. It also had bacon in it and a sourdough crumb mixture on top. Winner! It also went very well with my wine, which I savored every drop off. I was pleasantly surprised by this spot in my hotel. My meal was $26 (before tip)....on the high side for an app and one glass of wine. I'd give it another shot for sure.

B55 is located in the Marriott hotel, downtown SFO, Mission District. The atmosphere is casual chic with a very modern decor. Of course I started with a flight of beer. I really enjoyed the hefewisen and weitber that was offered. My top choice was the restaurants namesake brew that comes from San Diego, CA. There are some good menu items here. Although I'm pretty sure most people go for the burgers and beer. I wasn't in the mood for something that heavy so I ordered the Tuna Poke appetizer. It was fantastic! The tuna was fresh and the flavors were out-of-this-world. I had two co-workers join me; one ordered the burger, which she said was VERY bland; The other ordered the fried chicken sandwich and he enjoyed it greatly. Our server was not very attentive to our table despite the fact that the restaurant was not very busy. The length of time between her visits actually left us joking about worrying of she would return. Beer was good, food was good, service needs some work.

My family of 6 stayed at the Marriott Marquis in a suite and the service was amazing! The interior is extremely spacious (for anywhere not just San Francisco). If you have stayed in any hotels by union square, you know you can practically touch the bathroom door from your bed. Not the Marriott! The suite is so worth the upgrade. My 3 boys slept comfortable in the living room with their own flat screen while my husband and I had our own king size bed & separate tv. Yay! No more puppy pals for the night. The food at the B55 restaurant and bar is decent and nicely portioned. I called in for a kids sized pepperoni pizza and their giant pretzel with beer cheese. The pizza was definitely made with high quality ingredients. The crust rose nicely and the cheese did not look like melted play doh. The pretzel is humongous with a generous portion of cheese dip. My kiddos devoured the entire content before I could even take a photo lol. I highly recommend this establishment both for hotel and dining experience.

    Cider on tap ~$11. Yikes.

High ratings, few reviews, but we were adventurous and decided to try it, glad we did. Ingredients is on a corner, looked relatively new from the outside LED "Open" sign prominent in the window. Once we walked in, however, we entered a different world from what we were expecting. Luxurious mustard seats, lots of tables for four, seating with high gray bench banquettes, reminding me of a 70s tune ("Diamonds in the back..."); retro vibe elegantly done with modern lighting and sconces. Not cheesy by any stretch, but in a neighborhood place you could wear sweats or a suit to eat at. Our waiter was Jackie, an enthusiastic young man who seemed like he wasn't just there to wait on tables. Throughout the evening he was easy to chat with while being knowledgeable about his food he served without being condescending. He made someone unfamiliar with the menu feel new-to-us dishes weren't going to be an experiment. We ordered the beet salad, the 8 ounce hamburger with fries, the mushroom risotto, and on Jackie's recommendation the Nepal BBQ ribs. In the meantime they served us house made brioche buns-warm, soft, delicate and chewy, flaky; reminded me of Texas Roadhouse buns, but far better. Served with a little olive oil and balsamic in a separated dish, you could eat them plain and enjoy the craftsmanship of baked excellence. We wanted more but in retrospect we would've been filled up with brioche and not enjoyed the meal. Tough choice. The roasted beet salad, served with shaved fennel, a beet balsamic jus, and an apple-citrus slaw that was fresh, sweet with hints of citrus offset by the fennel so it wasn't cloyingly sweet. The textures were enjoyable-the softness of the beets with the crunch of the fennel slaw, we anxiously cleaned the plate! Next came the risotto and the burger. What was enjoyable was the mushroom risotto-a refreshing presentation of toothsome Arborio, creamy yet firm, interplaying with a variety of mushrooms that immediately became one of the better risotto we've had, texturally excellent, not one note like most risotto, it came out hot but not searing; deft hands created a concoction that kept us going back for more. The burger was simple, cooked medium, but one of the best we've had in a very long time. We should qualify the burger as a cheeseburger as we were given a choice- bleu cheese or cheddar, we chose the bleu cheese and it was a good choice, just the right amount complimenting the veggies that came with burger. Oh, the fries-skinny, perfectly fried they stayed equally crunchy from first to last, served in a mini fry basket that was cute but it also showed they meant business, these fries were better than that Irish fast food place, and aren't they the iconic standard of French fries? IMO Ingredients is now the new standard. They were served with house made ketchup, excellent with or without. The ribs came last originally accompanied by a Mac and cheese but since we ordered risotto they served the ribs separately with a slaw. The ribs were fall-off-the-bone, but a little more savory than sweet , served with just enough sauce to accompany the ribs without being messy, easy enough to eat using knife and fork, the kicker was a hint of five spice, subtle enough if it's in your background, but not an annoyance if it's not. Flavorful, hearty, filling, delicious, We ended our meal with a homemade "apple pie," a creation made of thinly sliced apples, perhaps poached, with cinnamon, cardamom, allspice, along with fresh fruit, and a yummy scoop of "creamy"mango sorbet. Lots of surprising good vibes-no crust, all apple, not heavy; the mix of spices played well with each other; mango sorbet wasn't icy like sorbets tend to be, the fresh fruits added a touch of freshness to the dish that could have been sweet-centric, but not. A delicate yet satisfying end to a delicious meal. We met the chef, Sok, at the end of our meal, who had his culinary training n Kathmandu and expanded his repertoire in his world travels. He definitely knows how to elevate a good meal, and his Nepal and French influences add an understated flair to what he cooks. Sok takes tremendous pride in what he presents to the diner, evidenced by who he hires, and how each dish is presented. Dining in Ingredients is gratifying, from the dining room to the staff to the dishes themselves. More people should give Ingredients a try, a gem of a neighborhood find, a rarity in SF! Thank you so much, we have a new favorite restaurant!

The mid-August options I'd chosen were - minestrone soup (4/5) - calamari risotto (5/5) - crispy pork schnitzel (3/5) - chamomile panna cotta (5/5) - buttered sourdough (5/5) The minestrone soup had a great creamy base with the mousse on top. Calamari risotto was delicious, creamy, soft rice, and it had a rich seafood flavor. You can tell the chef added plentiful seafood and the calamari was chewy. Crispy pork schnitzel came with a delicious mustard jus, just a little too salty for my liking. Chamomile panna cotta was probably my favorite, creamy with a subtle chamomile flavor that made it a great ending for the meal. The only thing is the timing of the food coming out was a bit slow, as there were intervals of 30 minutes in between courses. Otherwise service was exceptional and always made their rounds refilling our wine and water!

The miso's umami didn't come through so it was a bit bland. * Smoked Salmon Rillettes w/ dill, chives, pita ($12) Umm, I'm all for negative space but could they not find a smaller bowl so the rillette doesn't look half eaten? Lol! That aside, this was BOMB! The pita tasted housemade - served piping hot and perfectly chewy with a soft, fluffy interior. Slathered with the rich, creamy smoked salmon spread...it was so delicious. * Fries ($9) Can't go wrong with a huge platter of hot McD type fries. S E R V I C E Welp, this would have been a 5 star review but someone killed the vibes. Most of the staff was friendly, and our server was excellent - very attentive and efficient with drinks and apps arriving quickly. Unfortunately, as we were on our last round of drinks (I had a full cocktail left), a male staff came over and told us they need the table back in 10 minutes, and our server immediately brought the check. I was confused esp since there were two empty tables nearby and he didn't approach the other table that was seated around the same time as us. I later found the fine print on my rezzies about the 2-hour table max which wasn't mentioned when we were seated. Regardless, we still had about 30 mins left. Afterwards, I spoke with Mia at the hotel's front desk. She was very apologetic, looked into the situation right away, and kindly offered a round of drinks on our next visit. A M B I A N C E Chic and trendy with a cute glass-enclosed solarium, and sweeping views of DT and the city's skylines. Mix of tables and lounge areas with firepits and heat lamps (it's windy tho!). Clean restrooms. It was great seeing a diverse crowd for the R&B event...a refreshing change from the usual AI/Tech Bro scene in the city. P A R K I N G Limited street parking (we found parking around the corner before 5 pm). Valet is $80. Overall, we had a great time at R&B Wednesday, and I thought the prices were fair for solid apps and drinks...for a rooftop bar. It was disappointing that our evening was cut short tho. Would love to return before it's over in October but that interaction left a bad impression.

Daniel took care of us and recommended a pasta that ended up being one of the best dishes we had. His thoughtful recommendations, genuine hospitality, and warm personality elevated the entire evening and made it a truly memorable experience. We came back last night and were so excited to see Daniel again! He remembered us, made us feel incredibly welcome, and crafted an absolutely delicious lychee cocktail. Highly recommend Wildseed for both the amazing food and exceptional hospitality. A special shout-out to Daniel for always going above and beyond!

The kitchen here deserves 5 stars, but the floor service dragged the experience down…read more The food was absolute perfection! We loved the mushroom taco, an incredible blend of flavors and textures. The beetroot appetizer was a brilliant, tasty idea. Sitting outdoors in the great weather was a bonus, though the indoor ambiance looks wonderful too. Unfortunately, our waitress was completely uninterested and slow. It felt like she didn't care about any tables in her section, to the point where I actually had to walk up to the reception just to get a water refill. Big kudos to the chefs for carrying the restaurant! I'd definitely give this spot another shot (or at least try their other locations and hope they have friendly staff)
