Excellent Vegan options, seven choices. Creamy and delicious you would never know it was vegan, as it taste like normal ice cream only healthier nine plant based milk. Let me start by saying that I am not an ice cream fan. I rarely crave it and when I do, I am picky. I don't just like any ice cream. I only tried one scoop here and it was enough to earn my 5 stars. I got the regular chocolate. It was heavenly. Creamy like a mousse, not too sweet, silky and just perfect. I wish I had space to try other flavors. I was disappointed the find their vegan flavors were out of stock and was told they've been put of stock for almost a month with no idea when they'd be back. Booo!! Thus the 4 stars. Great selection of ice creams in the beautiful La Jolla neighborhood in San Diego! They also serve crepes and shakes as well. Although I love how this area at night time it is all lit up. Where Scoops is located is in a spot where cars can't drive down too. While we were inside, I found the workers to be kind and fun (dancing and friendly). The menu writing could have been a few cm bigger, but no problem. I tasted the cookies and cream (was good, creamy, and great amount of cookies). I ordered in a cup, one scoop, of BLACK CHERRY CHIP! It was great. Had a vibrant black cherry taste and the chips were a little excessive but good. I think it would be even better if the (chocolate) chips were thinner. It was missing the burst of cherry pieces, but it satisfied my cherry garcia/black cherry ice cream craving! Next time, I'd get one of their crepes. I think it would be great since after sunset it's pretty chilly out. Having some warmth in a bite would be lovely. They also had milkshakes, coffee, tea, and hot chocolate. My brother had the VEGAN OAT MILK CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIE DOUGH ice cream, one scoop, in a cup. He really enjoyed this as someone who's lactose intolerant. We had dinner nearby and stopped into Scoops for dessert. It was a weekday evening in December, so not busy at all. The staff was very friendly and offered their suggestions. I opted from the honeycomb and brown sugar chunk and my husband got cookies and cream and honeycomb. All of the flavors were good, but the honeycomb was the standout. They also offer doggy ice cream, which we will need to get for our pup next time. It's a small store. Be sure to exit out the back door and go through the alley to return to the sidewalk. I ordered an açaí bowl and strawberry ice cream in a cake cone. the strawberry ice cream was delicious (according to my daughter) she did mention that the ice cream had no fruit pieces in it. I had the açaí bowl. The fruit was super fresh and deliciou. the granola had a chocolate spice flavor to it. The only thing that was different was that the bowl is more of a sorbet base than your usual açaí bowls. The place is super adorable and clean. The service was great but it was busy for a Sunday afternoon. The good thing is that they have seating outside.
