Best steak house in central Florida! Amazing food, service, and staff! You will not leave hungry!

We just had dinner here tonight. We went because of the magical dining offer of 40 bucks. Wow! Emma our server timed the meal perfectly, our appetizers, dinners came out hot and delicious. The food and service are five star every single time. Ed and his team do an amazing job providing not just an incredible meal, but a gastronomical experience. Tonight's dinner was the 28 oz Porterhouse and crème brûlée. I've been here enough to try a wide variety of the menu. The Chilean Sea Bass and Filet Mignon are also favorites of mine. And don't forget the melt in your mouth prime rib on Sunday. If you're looking for a great date night or special occasion destination, this is it! WOWOW WOWOW and WOWOW I had heard about this place over a year ago. But obviously the pandemic kept us away. Glad we finally got to go. Reservations highly recommend it. We still eat at 8:15. The item that I ordered was completely sold out the blackened beef tips. So my husband and I both enjoyed it filet mignon. Cooked perfectly as you'll see from the pictures I've added below. I wasn't thrilled with the risotto~ so they did not charge me for it. The button mushrooms and baked potato with sour cream and the Caesar salad all fantastic! Can't wait to go back. The owner walks around and talks to everyone to make sure you're enjoying everything about your meal. It is in the middle of a strip center, there is plenty of parking and handicap parking. This would be great for a celebration, a night out or even a family celebration.! We loved this place! Their staff is siper friendly and attentive. We got this awesome waitress by the name of Misty! She knows her menu, made excellent recommendations and was attentive but not hovering the whole time. We had the egg rolls and they were amazing! I also had their french onion soup and it did no disappoint. The ribeye was delicious and their mashed potatoes were memorable! We will definitely be back!! read more

Really nice spot tucked in between a Little Caesar's and Beef O'Brady's in a shopping center. Despite the location, the ambiance is like any really nice steak house. I had a nice glass of Meiomi Pinot Noir. I ordered the petite house salad which to my delight was not like normal steak house salads. It was well presented and had fresh greens, tomatoes and feta cheese. My husband has the petite Caesar salad. He was also happy. He ordered the 14oz ribeye rare as well as a lobster tail. His steak was more medium than rare and the lobster was almost overdone. I ordered the 8oz filet medium with a loaded baked potato. It was Perfect!! My only complaint is I was too stuffed to try any dessert or their chocolate martini. I would give them 5 stars but my husbands steak and lobster were not perfect. If I am ever in Apopka again, I will Most Definitely come back to this Gem!!! read more

I really wanted to love this place and was excited to discover a local steakhouse here in town. The service and ambiance was excellent and gets a 5 star rating, but the food gets a 3 star rating from me. My party and I ordered steak, a hamburger and the evening special of chicken kabobs. The food was very salty and the steak and burger were not cooked as requested (requested medium-rare) and instead cooked all the way well-done. read more

I read a snarky review about a highly respected and very expensive steakhouse in Orlando. In the review they mentioned that this extremely popular steakhouse had nothing on the Back Room Steakhouse. Since I just visited the expensive restaurant that was reviewed and had an average dining experience this information peaked my interest. I looked up Back Room on Yelp and saw that they had great reviews but were located in a strip mall in Apopka. I made a reservation for the following Friday evening. As soon as my husband and I were seated water and bread hit the table. Shortly after Michael appeared and stated that he was our waiter. He went through the specials and enthusiastically answered our questions about the menu. We ordered Oysters Rockefeller ($18.00), 10 ounce New York Strip ($27.00), Boneless Ribeye ($36.00), Sweet Potato Fries ($4.50) and Pecan Pie Ala Mode. ($7.25) Each steak came with two sides and we chose salads, baked potato and risotto. The reviewer who prompted my visit to this restaurant was hands down 100 percent accurate when he announced that the steaks at the Back Room are phenomenal. I strongly agree!!! Aged for 28 days, beautifully seasoned and cooked to a perfect medium rare makes the Back Room Steakhouse a true winner. It's worth the drive. Don't be thrown off by their location in a strip mall. Every item that we ordered was fresh, prepared perfectly and delicious. Their Chef is skilled and extremely conscientious...He delivers!!! I have to add that our waiter (Michael) was spectacular!! This was honestly the most disappointing dining experiencing that I have ever had. They overcooked the lamb ( it came out well done when it was supposed to be medium rare) and for a steak that was ordered rare, it was so dry. The staff/owner did not seem to care and said "well we let are steak rest" . Even if a steak sits to rest, there's still some juice to accompany it, it's never dry unless you order it well done. We also weren't offered a dessert menu after our meal, it was like they wanted us out there as soon as possible (I'm not fully sure if it's because we were a black family or because it was just poor customer service but I didn't see other tables getting treated like this) If this is the best this place has to offer then they need to shut down. Edit: it's nice to see that the owner is quick to respond to a yelp review but not to the issues at hand. If you have to recook a steak for it have to be as it should then clearly someone doesn't know how to cook a steak. This is classified as a high end steak restaurant but clearly it's not. This restaurant seems to be very popular. We were a party of 7 and went during Magical Dining. The food was served fairly quickly and had been properly seasoned. The sides were tasty and the steaks cooked to order. Our server was attentive without hovering. We had time to chat & relax & enjoy our meals. I will not say it was the best steak dinner that I have eaten in the area for the money as others have been have been better and some worse but due to the reviews I guess I was prepared to be wowed and was not. Good food, not quite the fancy experience of a high end steak house. Calamari was very good, fresh fried, good breading. Our pork chop and NY strip were ordered medium rare and rare. The strangely came well done and medium. It then took 30 minutes to get a remake when they were winding down service and no more tables were coming in. This restaurant is a hidden gem. The first time I came here, I couldn't find it- it is hidden in plain sight. Behind a small, nondescript awning that says "Steak House" is some of the finest steak you will find in the area. Upon entering, you will find a small restaurant with a bar in the corner and several tables. No hostess stand, as some others have complained about, but I don't see the problem- it would take up valuable space for others to enjoy such fine food. The steaks are among the best I have ever had- and I have had a lot all over the world. The cuts are amazing and the are cooked perfectly. Perfectly. While steak is definitely king here, they have several items on the menu for almost any taste. The Chilean Sea Bass is awesome, as is the Pork Chop. The pasta looks good, but I have not yet tried it. My favorite side dish is the Risotto, it is rare to see this offered as a side. The wine selection is great, and the prices are fair. One thing- if you expect 5-star fine dining treatment like in a high end steakhouse, you will be disappointed- it is a very casual and relaxed atmosphere here- almost like you are at a friends restaurant. For me, this is a plus. The owner, Ed, is a gracious and friendly host, and seems honestly concerned about your experience. We decided to step outside our norm steakhouse choices and give this place a try. I had read on their site that reservations were recommended but being that we hadn't really planned to visit, we didn't reserve a table in advance. When we arrived we were advised that there was indeed one table open so we took it. They hadn't released it on the menu yet but it was a Chocolate Peanut Butter Martini, yummmm...if you go, make the request - it's so worth it! We ordered the Ribeye - it was tender and juicy; it honestly rivaled, maybe even surpassed, some of the higher end steakhouse options in the area. You Bet It Is the best steak under thirty bucks in Central Florida. The ten ounce Strip is great and in my opinion best dine rare. This is the steak of the area for the money and you get two great sides, bread with the best service around. I was skeptical but I am not any more. This place is the reincarnation of the once great Charlie's on OBT without the citrus hardwood tang in the meat. Found a recommendation online for this place and thought we'd give it a try. Found it as described in a shopping strip mall. Don't let the location throw you off please. Made reservations for a table but when we arrived we decided to sit at the bar and eat. What a great decision. The staff is above excellent, very attentive and super friendly. Filet & lamb chops were what we had with a great appetizer & some tasty chocolate cake for dessert. We live in Naples so the prices are not too high.
