The food here is good, but the service is sketchy at best. We consistently have to wait 10-15 min to even be greeted after we've been sat. This visit, I saw the server (Ari or Ali) for our section walking around and made eye contact with her twice. Zero acknowledgement. Let me start by saying I love to try new places, especially non-chain restaurants when I travel. I saw the reviews and several mentioned poor service but with so many delusional people I figured we would try it anyway and give the benefit of the doubt. I have to say though in 10 minutes I knew what the others who left comments were talking about. It started with long delay to have someone take drink order, long wait to get our two beers, very long wait for her to come back and take our food order. I can sympathize if they were busy but at one time I counted as many employees standing around as there were customers in the place, but then I looked again and there wasn't a single employee on the floor, which was very strange to me. I have to say the wedge salad was good but my co-worker got the brisket Frito pie and it was cold and very bland and cold for something that was supposed to be made fresh and actually came out quickly. Probably the oddest thing was the guy that stood by the kitchen door doing nothing but standing with his arms crossed like he was watching the door at a club. Went with the intention of just getting a few beers and chatting, but felt pressured to get food, so we got an order of fried pickles and told the waitress that'd be the only food. Draft Guinness Nitro was perfect and the brisket grilled cheese was okay. Nothing special but still pretty good. Fries were great as was the Bavarian pretzel we had as an appetizer. If you are looking for a traditional Philly style one of these like so many places have, then do not order this one. Theirs is tangier, more flavorful and has bacon. Not sure what the exact sauce is but it is described as PBR caramelized Onions, caramelized Jalapeños, house BBQ and Buttermilk Ranch. Whatever it is, it works and I ate every bite. I also had the borracha beans as my side and they were excellent. My wife had the brisket tacos which were generous and good, but not great. My son had the Gringo burger which he very much liked and his wife had the cobb salad that she said was okay. We started with the pretzel and selected double queso. Queso was top notch and the pretzel fresh and warm, just a bit small compared to other places I have been. Good beer selection. Service was good and the restaurant was clean. It was kinda sorta ok, I guess. By that, I mean I ordered a beer at the bar top, the bartender served it to me, and I drank it, and it tasted good. But, like most young bartenders in this area, there was zero interaction. She didn't tell me her name, she didn't ask mine, there was no conversation. I think "what can I get you?" And "are you ready to pay out" was the extent of the conversation for the hour that I was there. I do know that she thought she deserved a tip for pouring a beer and putting it in front of me because my beer was $9.20 (yes, for ONE beer) I paid with a $20 bill, and she gave me $10 change. She rounded $9.20 up to $10, in her favor. I guess rounding up has become common with people who don't want to count change ... But rounding UP 80 cents? So my one beer was $10. I did leave her another dollar, making it 20% tip, because I'm in the hospitality business too. But I won't go back. read more

I was pleasantly surprised by this drafthouse. Firstly, this place is much bigger than expected. Secondly, service was unbelievable fast, I think we had a drink and dinner in about twenty minutes, with food arriving about 5 minutes after ordering. I had the chicken wrap with House BBQ sauce, which was excellent, and my wife, the Turkey sandwich, again, excellent! The appearance inside is pretty nice, with enough monitors to see a game if needed, and with tables well-dispersed. The only drawback on this first visit were noise levels, which at times could be epic, depending on some of the staff or customers making a lot of noise, and there isn't a soft-surface in the place. It wasn't very crowded either, so I imagine it could be really-really loud when packed. I also was a bit disappointed that the only side choices are fries or coke slaw. We only ordered the fries, which were pretty much like McDonald's fries; we'll try the slaw next time. I did like the prices though, as two entrees and two drinks were still under $30 total, so we definitely will go back and try this place again. read more

Came here for Sunday brunch with a group of six. Four of the crew got biscuits with their meals, and requested butter and jam. Our server said they didn't have jam, and only had liquid butter for the kitchen to cook with. Seems like an oversight if you offer brunch, as butter and jam are intergalactically recognized as the two main food groups of brunch. (Also, there IS supposed be bacon jalapeño jam on the brilliantly monikered "Pork-Gasm," so some variety of jam does allegedly exist in this establishment, but I digress.) I made the grave error of ordering avocado toast. Upon further consideration, I should have known better after reading the description, which to any sensible person would classify as dubious, so I acknowledge my own responsibility. It's listed as served on sourdough. Definitely came out on soggy Texas toast, just the way I like it. The mixed greens were delectably wilted by the fried egg on top, and there was less than a quarter of an avocado pitifully spread across two-thirds of the surface area of my warm bread sponge. I got a corner of it down, but went no further. Ate the egg off the top, and a couple friends kindly shared some of their leftovers. One of our group ordered OJ, and that came out with ice, which isn't totally unprecedented, but is, overall, a bummer. Another ordered coffee, and asked for cream, but they only had milk on hand. (I guess that's ok, but half & half seems like something you'd keep around for coffee and cocktails if you're a bar that's serves brunch.) She also asked for a little sugar, and was promptly furnished with about 1/3 cup of it, which was hilarious, but also helpful, because she had hoped to start baking a small batch of cookies at the table. If you're looking for brunch, maybe go elsewhere, but if you must come here, I recommend avoiding the "avocado toast," as experts in the field would likely dispute its status as avocado toast. And perhaps also specify that a teaspoon of sugar will certainly do just fine. This is probably a fine spot for bar food and drinks, but they need to recalibrate their AM offerings. Great food, no frills kind of place! The BLAT was delicious and the portions are pretty big. It's kid friendly and even though it was a busy Friday night, we didn't have to wait long. Server was on point with food and service. One small thing is that they do charge extra for sides of sauce which isn't too common in most sit down restaurants but other than that, everything else was great. Also tried the strawberry jalapeño margarita and it was too sweet for my liking but I could see other drinkers enjoying it. read more
