The worst part of the meal was the waffles, and the best part was the chicken and tots. The tots were super crispy/ crunchy and the chicken was very Walmart- but I like Walmart chicken! I guess the sucky part of this meal was the waffles. They were literally not edible. It had a sponge consistency, so I tossed them to the trash. Customer service: 5/5 It was crazy packed, and the customer service was so good! That usually never happens. The woman who took our order, to the cook making it. They were so nice and I really appreciate that. Especially when you're on vacation! My sibling likes to stay at Luxor, him and his friends always rave about this place but I never had a chance until Father's Day weekend. If you've been drinking all night and it's 3am; you don't feel like mindlessly wandering the strip, then this is the spot to carb up for the night! Open 24 hours and they serve up a mean slice of bread with protein and carbs to soak up all the Vegas shenanigans. I ordered the cheesesteak and thought it was pretty good, albeit felt it could've used some more grease! Added a side of tater tots, you can't go wrong. TRULY A HIDDEN GEM. I generally don't get sandwiches when I'm out, and they're especially not what comes to the top of my mind when I think of Vegas, but I'm so glad that we were recommended to try this place. It's tucked away in a non-assuming corner of the Luxor and took some direction asking for us to get there. It's no longer 24 hour, but still a great stop and for a Sunday early afternoon, there wasn't much of a wait. We got the : 1) "Ahh Pluck It" sandwich: -Comes with roasted turkey, bacon, Havarti cheese, cucumber, alfalfa sprouts, red onion, tomato, cranberry sauce, all on wheat bread. -HUGE portion, fat, fat stacks of sliced turkey. -This isn't what I'd usually order either, so I'm glad that it was recommended to me. -Think of leftover Thanksgiving sandwich, but with a nice "healthy" modern twist with all the veggies. -It also came with a pickle spear. -Super yummy, would definitely order again. 2) BBQ Fries: -Also another huge portion of fries. Everything was nicely seasoned, evenly and not overly salty. -I'm used to seasoning being added to fries in a haphazard manner, so this was a welcomed, delicious surprise. -Fries were not too oily and had the right amount of crispiness to them. Backstage Deli cured a fix when I needed it most, but I wouldn't recommend going out of your way to come here. Located in the back of The Luxor passed the casino, you'll find the order-at-the-counter, casual restaurant. I saw a bagel sandwich on the menu and I immediately transitioned from lunch mode to breakfast mode. I had a productive morning working and was fixated when I found a "deli" on property. However, a bagel sammie usually does the trick for me. The sandwich itself was $12, but I'm still bitter about the $6 they charged for a water bottle. Seriously? I'd rather hop over the counter and stick my noggin under the spout. $6 for water is INSANE. End rant. Onto the food. The sandwich was passable; what's to be expected at a casino/hotel. A bagel sandwich is like pizza, even a bad one still gets you to your destination. It certainly wasn't memorable, but if you're dying of hunger you're not going to complain. One of the more reasonably priced places to eat at the Luxor or even on the new Vegas strip. We ate here twice. The first time I got the cheesesteak which was good. The side of tots were great. Soaked up quite a bit of the alcohol. The second time I ordered the buffalo chicken wrap and my wife ordered the tuna sandwich. The buffalo wrap was very spicy. Definitely needed some ranch to cool it down. They give you a decent portion as well. A meal can easily fill two people up. There's a sign that states no outside cups allowed, but they did not have any issues with us taking it in and filling it with water. They do offer free water cups, but it's small small. We were staying at the Luxor and feeling famished after a concert and Backstage Deli popped up on my Yelp search. They had tater tots on the menu + 24/7 breakfast so I was pretty excited to try this spot. Service was quick and friendly, prices were quite reasonable for the area. I ordered a BLTA (comes with tots) for $15.50. The restaurant is tucked away in a corner of the Casino. There are a few tables and it looks kind of like a fast-casual restaurant with a soda dispenser off to the side of the tables. They do take credit cards - not sure about cash. We ordered our food to go and opted to eat it in our hotel. The BLTA was HUGE. I probably could have shared one but I scarfed it down in my post-concert hunger and enjoyed it quite a bit. The tater tots were pretty great too! It might've been the 2AM hunger that made this place taste so good but I'm not mad at it one bit. The nice restaurants didn't open until dinner time and they closed the buffet for the day without explanation. This place is small and WAY overpriced, but it does have several tables and chairs. 4/5 - Turkey Sandwich - Huge! 4/5 - Cheeseburger - Really good. Definitely not worth what they charged though. 3/5 - Onion Rings - Pretty good. Nothing stand out. 3/5 - Tater Tots - Basic. Just as good as the ones you make at home 1/5 - Chili Dog - Outrageously priced at $16 and the meat is overwhelmed by way too much bread. I would not come back here. This is such a perfect spot if you are staying at the Luxor looking for breakfast or even a late night snack before getting on the elevator. I also want to give a special shout out to the people working there. I had left my credit card and came back after retracing my steps to find the lady at the register had kept it safe for me. I wanted to give her an extra cash tip as a thank you for finding and keeping my credit card safe but she refused to accept it. She just wanted to do the right thing. This review was meant to be written from my Vegas trip back in Nov 2nd thru Nov 6th, 2023. This spot was suggested by one of the members from our group who said that they are open 24/7 and is located at the Luxor. We had driven from Los Angeles at about 8PM on Nov 2nd, 2023 and arrived at the Excalibur at around midnight. The walk from the Excalibur to Backstage Deli at the Luxor using the connecting walkways was about 30 minutes. We had difficulty finding this place as it was in the 'back corner' away from the usual food court area but we eventually found it. I ordered The Cubano and it comes with a side of fries and a sliced pickle. My friends ordered The Jawbreaker and The Philly Cheese Steak. The Cubano tasted fine. To me, it seemed like a basic cold cut deli sandwich except the bread was toasted and the cheese was warmed up so it was nice and gooey. It had a generous heaping of meat to veggies. It was a bit on the salty side but that's to be expected. I would say that the taste and freshness is about on par with Porto's Bakery level of quality. Porto's is an Armenian bakery and sandwich shop in Glendale CA, and it's a very niche bakery and sandwich shop that makes superior baked goods, pastries and sandwiches compared to other ethnic bakeries in all of LA county, which has no meaning for most folks except those of us that live in SoCal so if you know, you know. We decided to eat there rather than walk all the back to the Excalibur just to chow down. There were a few basic tables and chairs plus a few high top tables and chairs--all hard, plastic seats and hard, wooden tables, by the way. They had a soda machine on the far end of the L-bend where the main trash cans are located but there were a few smaller trash cans strategically placed throughout the space. It's an overall clean, modern and brightly lit dining area otherwise. Service. The cashier seemed friendly enough and when asked what sandwiches were popular, she had recommended the Philly Cheese Steak and Jawbreaker. Ambiance. It felt more like a grab-n-go spot than it was meant for a sit down and eat. You order your food at the counter and pick up your food at the same counter--type of restaurant. No TV's nor music was playing at said restaurant--aside from the buzzy noise emanating from the casino itself. They take credit cards. Enough said. In hindsight, I should have gotten the Philly Cheese Steak or Jawbreaker as both of my friends had remarked that those sandwiches were 'fire' so maybe on my next visit the following year, I'll give those a try. All in all, I definitely like this restaurant over the Greenberg Deli located inside the NY-NY. At least the cashier would actually greet you upon arrival and asked us if we had any questions before we ordered. That, to me, is the most basic of customer service skills--something that the folks working at Greenberg Deli should take some notes and replicate at their establishment. I would--hands down--make the walk back to Luxor for this spot than make the Walk to NY-NY from the Excalibur any day of the week, if I really wanted some late night hot sandwiches. read more

Now mind you, it's not fancy, but if you're trying to get rid of your hunger and stomach growls, their sandwiches and sides should do the trick. I ordered the Jawbreaker with fries for takeout. It's full of meat...pastrami, corn beef, along with Swiss cheese and Cole slaw on a hoagie roll. I had to squish the roll tight enough so I can take the first bite...It was like a satisfying food coma taking over your senses. There's some kind of yummy secret sauce that's got so much flavor. The fries were like McDonald's style and came with pickle slice. I was in a trance and didn't stop eating until it was all gone. There was no angel on my shoulder telling me to stop. There was only the devil urging me to keep eating all that good stuff. So beware, half of this sandwich should be enough for lunch. We ordered online so that we could pick up our food to-go and it went very smoothly - everything was ready when I arrived. We got the turkey club, the jawbreaker, and tater tots. One of the shining stars in the Luxor hotel. Unfortunately, they didn't have any half and half options, so I ended up ordering 2 meals so I could get some variety. I tried the "Dem Apples" salad and the "Ahh Pluck it" sandwich, with absolutely no regrets and half of it saved for a meal the next day. Although there was a constant line, the cashier was very quick and efficient. You did have to wait a little longer for food, and the seating area was mostly full (around 1pm on a Tuesday). The salad was a great balance of sweet, sour, and bite (from the onion), and tasted very fresh. I should have asked for the dressing on the side, because it was a little overdressed. The sandwich was sooo fresh, and was stacked with turkey and sprouts. Bread was nicely toasted, didn't taste dry at all, and overall a good balance of flavor. Generally, the prices were also reasonable for a fulfilling meal, considering you were either surrounded by food court options ($), a buffet ($$), or "nice" restaurants ($$$). Party of 4 suddenly had hunger pangs after a few hours' run at playing slot machines. Since I know of no local places around (plus we had somewhat limited time) I turned to Yelp once again to find a quick snack joint, hence the discovery of this place. It makes sense they have it this moniker because it WILL break your jaw if you tried to take a bite as it is served. Good amount of meat commensurate to the coleslaw. The only thing is the coleslaw came off a bit on the sweet side. Overall still great, though. FRIES: Fried to order crispy and great level of salt. I didn't get to try the burger or the grilled cheese sammich but both were huge portions! They were happy-happy with what they got. The one person who didn't bother ordering got to try all three. She's the smart one. FOOD: 4. Quality and quantity. SERVICE: 5. Everything was made to order. Cashier and cook look like they enjoyed working there. Service with a smile is always good. VALUE: 5. Incredibly unprofessional. My family and I stopped by to grab a quick bite. We buy an overpriced water bottle to share between all of us. We were about to head out and we had a long walk ahead of us so my dad told my teen sister to refill the water bottle at the soda machine. It's just water. So as she's refilling it, the bald white guy who was our cashier earlier, comes over and yells at her. Again, it's just water. My dad walks over and the cashier starts yelling at him that we need to buy the water and my dad tells him we did pay for the water already we are just refilling it. Then the cashier waves at him to leave and condescendingly says "adiós" OK. That's just racist. Really dude? Was that necessary or professional? My dad walks away & my mom walks over to counter to return the water to the cashier and tells him off. Cashier gets pissed off and they start yelling at each other. My mom throws the bottle over the counter and walks away. I walk over and tell him that there's a way to communicate with people and that wasn't it. He was incredibly unprofessional. You don't talk to people like trash and I bet if we were white, he wouldn't have confronted them the same way he just did. His "adios" comment was proof of that. We have been coming and staying at the Luxor for the past 3 months because of our ability to work from home and MGM comps. To be quite honest I was not expecting much from this place! Their food is a actually really good! Also, this is the only place that is open almost for 24 hours. They close for several hours I believe at 5pm and reopen again at 10pm. Sometimes, the line is long and sometimes it's not. I am a chili girl and their chili is really good. I dont have a picture of it, but it's nice thick and really meaty. There is cheddar cheese and onions on top. I like to pair it was tater tots. I always get this tater tots because their crunchy and they have the best tater tots! Their turkey club is by far my favorite sandwich here. The light crab berry compliments the saltiness of the turkey and bacon. I would pay $20 for this sandwich. I also tried the Cubano sandwich and pastrami sandwich as well. Their burger is pretty decent as well. Pastrami sandwich was disgusting, as was the "homemade chili", along with the "grilled chicken". The food here tasted like it was way too old and too cold to be served; obviously not cooked fresh nor properly heated. The people "cooking" the food were horrendously rude and unprofessional, disinviting business, which is just bizarre because you'd think Vegas is supposed to encourage you to spend money rather than dissuading you from spending money. I stayed at the luxor hotel and happened to stumble upon this place and I'm so glad that I did. It's an amazing place to eat at when it's late night and you're hungry. I pretty much went here two days straight because it was just that good. For the first time, I got a cheeseburger combo (it comes with any type of starch (fries, onion rings, etc) and a drink). The burger was super juicy and they cooked my meat patty perfectly medium. I got the parmesan fries and they were amazing! Afterwards, I got the phillycheese steak combo as well which came with fries and a drink. So good! Although, if I were to critique the cheesesteak, I wish the bun was toasted just a little bit more as it was soggy from the juices. Also the fajita vegetables, preferably would like them to be cooked a little bit more to have it where it's not entirely crunchy, just a slight crunch is fine for me. You probably could ask them to do that for you. Also for the prices that you pay considering you're in las vegas, it's not bad. I paid less than 15 dollars on average for the meals. Is it weird that I'm reviewing the backstage deli even though I didn't take advantage of the fact that it was in fact a deli....I don't know, but I'm going to do it anyway based on what I got and what my experience was. I walked down to the Backstage Deli on Friday morning while in need of a quick but smallish breakfast. Originally I planned on ordering a breakfast sandwich but the chubby French gluten lover in me said "I think I'll order a croissant instead" and then also one of the cute little mini donuts that was sitting on the counter. The croissant itself was made exactly how a croissant should be made, and it tasted pretty darn good as well. The little chocolate donut I ordered was quite tasty and packed a chocolatey punch that left me feeling good, full, and happy. Luckily, I was able to post my potato salad photo, as I could salvage it by sharpening it up. My Reuben photo was a lost cause. It was a blob of dark fuzziness. Instead, I will describe how yummy it was. My Reuben sandwich consisted of corned beef, sauerkraut, and Swiss cheese, on toasted rye bread with a yummy sauce. You can make it a combo by adding a side and a small drink, so I got potato salad and a fountain drink. My Reuben sandwich was perfect. Normally, the sauerkraut makes the bread soggy. However, the rye was toasted perfectly that I didn't get any sogginess and the bread didn't take off the roof of my mouth. The corned beef was tender and flavourful. But after over 12 years of visiting the same Mandalay properties, for pretty much the same conferences, you get to know your reliable, flavor-filled, consistent favorites, and Backstage is one of them. Simple menu, but each item is high quality and the little details makes it into your go-to book, like house-made salsas that actually taste flavorful and not from a food service merchant. (lots of this city is sourced from the same suppliers) Back in the corner or Luxor, to the side of the magic theatre, you're away from the smokers, and out of earshot of the many nightclub venues towards the front. Wifi is strong here, and the staff courteous and quick, and very personable. I prefer this stop over the Luxor's coffee shop (the other 24x7 choice here), which by comparison is pretty generic. Opposite corner from the ubiquitous Starbucks. Top of the escalator (main floor level), if you're coming in from self park. Always been able to refill my coffee as the day wears on, and they can customize pretty much everything to your dietary needs.
