We've been to Bad Bakers at least half a dozen times since they've opened in Elk Grove. Their donuts are AMAZING. The only criticisms are their line management. Twice they've tried to call us to the register to order/pay without getting the donuts (and other food). This would be fine if the variety was "normal" or predictable. But one of the best things about BB is their variety and the new donuts! Compounded by the fact that most of them aren't labeled, which I get. Their turnover in the case is probably super fast. Regardless, this "call-ups" method makes the customer go up, bring thel cashier back, away from the register to get the actual product. It's kinda a mess at that point. It seems to stress out the employees (or at least it looks like it) and isn't a great experience for the customer. Certainly not as absolutely AMAZING as the food! read more

The letters BAD stand for Bread and Donuts. It should be DAB Bakers. Not much bread on display, donuts aplenty. I know inflation is rampant now but 6.75 for a fancy chocolate cruller and a kid size milk made me feel like, "That's too much." I can say I tried them twice but that's it. My first visit was kind of weird. Ok, I'm getting old but a hypodermic syringe with vanilla filling is weird. I guess it's supposed to be cool. I like to keep my donuts separate from needles. The point is to shove filling in your donut yourself. I used to see a line waiting to enter the store, I guess the novelty has subsided. The line has kind of vanished. Where do I start? Bad customer service or high prices. I've been to this location a few times. The first time, I thought to myself, "Wow, $7 for a donut." The taste was ok but I felt ripped off. My last visit, I bought a surprise box and noticed they were all chocolate. Now its a few minutes from closing time, and they had plenty other non chocolate varieties. Ok waited till I could go in myself, I had tried a bit of doughnut that my wife brought home. Wanted to wait until I'd been to the shop for my review. Staff were very helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. The kronuts were my personal favorite, it's a cross between a croissant and a donut. Amazing texture, the donuts (other than cake) all come with a syringe with your filling that you get inject into your own donut which was delicious and interesting to boot. Also tried one each of their lumpia. Both were on point but the cheeseburger one was the winner by far. We also tried the bread, Holy smokes amazingly delicious, light and fluffy, with butter and sugar my mouth is watering again right now as I write this review. Can't wait till the food truck comes to our area as it's hard to justify a drive to Elk Grove just for donuts lol read more

It's a no for my family... DRY DRY DRY. I had high hopes for this place but I was wrong. It's not star bread but the Spanish bread was better than the donuts. I called this week to make sure they had gluten free doughnut options on the weekend they told me Friday Saturday and Sunday they have that option. It is my son's birthday and we have a gluten free kid who stayed over and I needed to have that option for him. Waited in line 15 minutes just to find out they won't be ready until past 9 am. We hired Bad Bakers to serve donuts to our guests as they exited our church ceremony! This was the perfect addition and best snack prior to the shuttles taking our guests to our reception venue! As the bride and groom, we got to sneak a small bite of all four options we chose and they were DELICIOUS! I must give them 2 stars because I care and as a red flag for them. There's a ratio in business and they don't meet it. The donuts are good! They're better than average Edomite shops by about 20-30%. Tasty But They charge about 200% of normal. 20-30-% for 200% is the reason why their customer levels dropped off. I've gone here 3x and the donuts are very good but not matching the price. read more

Upon arrival, there weren't many people in line so that was a plus. Their shop is stunning! Their donut cases are super tall, so immediately, the donuts are the star of the store. It helped that their cases were pretty stocked (I hate getting to a donut shop at 10am in the and it's almost empty). Everything looked so appealing so it was hard to make a decision because I wanted it all. With that being said, the esthetics of their shop is a 10. I did end up getting 7 donuts in the end, some Mochi donuts, unicorn cloud, a cereal donut, a vegan blueberry donut, and a chocolate icing donut that I got to fill with cookies and cream. If you have a sweet tooth, and love desserts that are so sweet they hurt your teeth, this place is absolutely for you! For me unfortunately, that is not what I like in donuts. I just felt like I was eating a spoonful of sugar with every bite I tried. The Mochi donuts were dense and the cereal donut was pretty stale. So I was a bit disappointed to say the least, and on top of that, I paid $24 for 7 donuts. I'll probably try them again once more, maybe try their staxx and pandesal. Anyway, onward with the review: Kreullers are my favorite..... and this is the first place I've been to that has a flavor other than plain/vanilla/chocolate/strawberry. They have a Kreuller DeVille! So fluffy and flavorful. They had varieties of mochi donuts which were fantastic too. For some reason I felt like I hadn't had them before, but as I right this review, I may have once had one years ago.... in New York. I need to go write that review, once I re-remember that store name (I once had a phase where I was checking out those the stores that showed up on the Top [insert number here] for [insert food category here] on the Food Network. Not sure what it was called but it was covered in chocolate with sprinkles, white chocolate chunks and potato chips. Delish! OMG I stood in line for almost 40mn! They need manpower this is not good for business. Service is so so and soooo slow!!

The shop is very clean and the staff are nice as well. I'd definitely recommend the lumpia to anyone going here. The filling is mostly meat but they're still not soggy or greasy. It's amazing. Their senorita bread and flan is great and so are their drinks. On the other hand the doughnuts are a bit dry and dense. I never get them fresh so that could be the reason. If I wanted good doughnuts I'd much rather go to Java Time. Besides from that though I'd absolutely go check out what they have to offer. read more
