Great coffee shop with deliciously creative signature drinks and satisfying pastries. My husband and I visited early morning on a weekend and it was not busy at all. Most customers seemed to grab and go with their coffee, but we enjoyed our drinks by the fountain out front with plenty of surrounding outdoor seating. Which really made for a nice calm start to our morning. Service was quick and efficient. I saw on yelp they are known for the robotic arm that makes the coffee, but I didn't see it being used for our drinks (which i am totally fine with, just a note if you come specifically for that experience) Drinks: Bada Fog - perfect touch of maple balanced with salt. Once I started drinking it, I finished it within minutes!!! Orange Blossom (husband's) - not usually a fan of fruit flavored coffee, but I was pleasantly surprised by this! Service was great, all the staff that were there the day I went were kind and efficient :) not the biggest cafe, one big table and a bar for some studying but seems more like a place to come and chit chat with a friend since they have nice amounts of seating outside by the fountain. Nice chill ambience with friendly baristas and a robot making espresso, but the execution overall was very poor. Our flat white had a terrible milk pour. They also put their house cream in a separate paper cup for us to pour ourselves on top of our iced latte, which was odd. Most cafes do this themselves. I'll give them a second chance as everyone messes up sometimes and they may still be working out some kinks as a new place, but it was a disappointing first experience. read more

It is perfectly balanced--not overly sugary, just a smooth, natural maple sweetness that paired so well with the oat milk. It's the ultimate "cozy" drink. My husband is a huge fan of the Strawberry Matcha. You can tell they use quality ingredients because it tasted like real strawberries rather than just a pump of artificial syrup. It's refreshing, visually beautiful with the layers, and definitely "husband-approved." The atmosphere is great for catching up with a friend or getting some quick work done. Tried this place on a whim today after seeing the rating and it did not disappoint! I got the maple oat matcha and the matcha is incredibly smooth and full of umami which I love. This new coffee shop located right next to South high has a cute look to it and actually has a robot that helps make the drinks! Their menu has a good amount of drinks with a few specialty drinks. They also sell pastries. The few times I have been, there wasnt much of a wait and they make the drinks fairly fast. I got the bada fog and matcha cloud and I enjoyed both! The bada fog is a sweet espresso drink with a thick cream top! Its definitely in the sweeter and creamier side of coffees. The matcha cloud is also on the sweeter creamier side since it has the cream top as well. If you like sweet/creamy drinks I would recommend these! read more

My boyfriend and I visited Bada Coffee on a Saturday morning. We have been wanting to check this place out as it's close to where I live. Bada Coffee is located inside the Calle Mayor Plaza on PCH next to Torrance South High School. I believe Stone Cold ice cream used to reside prior. Why this place? It has a robot barista that makes your coffee. The final mixtures are handmade by the people. It is amazing to see the robot in person; the food and drinks were amazing as well. We ordered two pastries and two drinks. I got the Strawberry Matcha and my boyfriend got the Maple Oat Latte. Both drinks were fantastic! The flavors and sweetness were just right and not to mention the pastries were delicious. We chilled at the place and enjoyed ourselves. Calm vibes, perfect for a coffee shop named after the ocean! The interior is minimalistic, airy, and has a decent amount of seating. We ordered a Matcha Latte and a Bada Fog. Both drinks were good! The matcha had a nice color and smooth taste. I would've liked it to be stronger, but it was overall still tasty. The Bada fog had a strong espresso flavor with a light cream top. I don't recall any strong maple notes, but it was still a nice treat. Neither were super unique or outstanding, but both a solid option for a caffeine fix. There's a robot arm inside that usually prepares the espresso, but it wasn't working when we came in. It would be cool to see though! I'd come back if I was in the area, but wouldn't plan my day around it. However, I am tempted to try their matcha cloud, and may bring my laptop along to get some work done. read more

Took my dad to the doctor's office, and I saw this new coffee shop next door. They didn't have any pastries yet, but the worker said that they would soon. The menu is pretty small, and I thought about getting a regular latte, but I decided to get the fog since it was labeled as their signature drink. I was surprised when they started making an iced drink since I thought it was going to be hot - the menu doesn't really designate it - but the worker said that it was really good, so I went with it. Omg, this drink is soooo good! It has Vermont maple, milk, and cream on top with a shot of espresso. I may ask for another shot next time because I like my drinks stronger. The cool thing about this shop is that they have a robot arm doing the espresso shots. It gets the beans, then the shots, and moves it on the counter for the employee to pour into the drinks. What a pleasant surprise! My day took an unexpected turn when I had to take someone to the urgent care, and while waiting, I spotted Bada, coffee. I forgot what used to be there before. It looked busy (always a good sign!, so I decided to pop in. The aesthetic is very clean, modern, and minimalist, with a nice little courtyard area that's perfect for enjoying the California weather. I ordered the Orange Blossom latte and it was absolutely delicious and refreshing. The spinach pastry was also decent. I had to do a double-take when I spotted the robotic arm making the espresso shots - now that's different! It was cool and futuristic to watch. The only reason I'm taking off one star is due to a safety concern. The barstool chairs are extremely light and slippery against the floor. I could easily see someone not paying attention, going to sit down, and having the chair slide right out from under them. I hope the management looks into adding some rubber grips to the bottom of the chairs. Despite that one issue, the staff was friendly, and the overall experience was fantastic. I will absolutely be back the next time I'm in South Torrance. I can't wait to work my way through the rest of the menu. read more

I ordered the bada fog and it was absolutely delicious. I can see why that's their most popular drink. My husband tried the Spanish latte which he liked, considering that he's a bit picky. Along with our beverages we ordered pastries. We ordered a chocolate croissant and a spinach with I believe feta pastry. I'm not sure the exact name as the young lady attending us recommended that spinach pastry. Which I'm so glad she did the bread is sweet and not too crumbly.
