I like Bafang dumpling cause the menu is simple and it's good comfort food. The prices are decent and there are combos. They also blast the AC in here so it's great for summer when you're craving something soupy but don't want to be sweating. For a dumpling place though, I wish their filling was improved. Their dumpling skin is good. But, their filling is just a little blander compared to other places. I come here mostly for the wonton soup because it really hits the spot. Their beef noodle soup is also good and they have small cold dishes as sides available in the front. It's convenient to eat here and then go shopping at the mall, but it doesn't connect directly into the mall so you have to go out. However, I was a victim to Gen Z customer service here as a millennial. I'm sure you've all seen by now the video where a millennial is ordering coffee from a gen z café. That video was so similar to what I experienced at Bafang Dumpling. I ordered the braised pork chop rice and the Gen z guy handed me a cup and I was like "Oh, my meal comes with a drink?" and he just gestured behind him to the poster on the wall that showed the free drink promo with my order. They have a sheet with allergen information at the front register, but I asked to make SURE that their dumplings didn't have egg in them because my twins are allergic to eggs and his response was "We have the allergen information there". Later, when we asked for hot water, his response was "We don't necessarily serve hot water". Like what does that mean? I had to go ask someone else to get what I needed. My other experiences here were good, just this experience with that specific staff was irritating. read more

This restaurant is only accessible from outside, so if you're inside the mall and looking for the entrance, head toward Macy's and it'll be outside. The interior is surprisingly larger than expected and it's very clean! I could see this place being crowded during peak hours, it was wise to go during lunch. When looking at the menu, you're going to want to go for a combo. The combo is basically a main and a side, OR a main and a drink. For best value for a main and a side. We got the combo 4 that was noodles and potstickers, and combo 6 which was a dumpling bowl containing 4 pieces of the 3 different times of dumplings they have, and I had the option of a drink or a side of soup, I chose the corn chowder just to try something different. The noodles had a nice kick of spice to them and the potstickers were outstanding! They definitely pan fried them to perfection. The dumplings were also really good and it was nice to have the soup with it because it gave a lighter feel to the meal to balance it out. It does however taste more like an egg drop porridge soup with corn rather than a traditional chowder in case you were expecting a normal chowder. Food We frequent the cerritos mall a lot, so this was a new discovery when we were there and decided to give it a try. We got an assortment of original and veggie potstickers and dumplings, as well as signature noodles. The dumpling and potstickers were pretty good. The dumplings were nice and juicy on the inside, had some good flavor, but lacked a wow factor imo, and a bit lacking on the filling as well. I could say the same for the potstickers, but the crunch exterior rice paper gave it the leg up for me and could eat more of. The signature noodles were just okay, nice nutty flavor, just the right amount of heat and good texture on the noodles as well. A great addition to the Los Cerritos Mall! The dumplings and potstickers were overall good quality. I appreciated the pork to cabbage ratio. We tried the corn chowder, hot & sour soup, fried chicken, and spicy wontons. Spicy wontons were on the spicy side of the meter. They're usually tolerable for us but here, it's definitely spicy. Didn't really enjoy the fried chicken. I wouldn't order that again. Everything else is a go. The restaurant has plenty of seating, and kept clean. There's sauces you can help yourself to: vinegar, garlic sauce, hot sauce, other sauces. Staff were friendly and gave us suggestions since it was our first time. Bafang opened up next to Chipotle and it's the perfect spot for your dumpling fix! I love dumplings and I love sauce, and this place has an abundance of both. I wouldn't say they're the best/most authentic dumplings, but I think if you're craving dumplings and want to go go a casual spot that's not too expensive, then this is it! You order at the counter and then seat yourself. This place was bigger than I expected and able to fit fairly large parties, we sat a group 10! They also have some cold grab and go items available as well, but we didn't try any of these. We ordered combo #5, which comes with the 12 signature dumplings and I got with the hot and sour soup versus a drink. The dumplings are plain tasting, but there's a lot of sauce to dip them in! And I loved the hot and sour soup! I did add some black vinegar to it like another yelper suggested (great idea!). We also ordered combo #3, which came with 12 kimchi potstickers and soup or drink. I really like the potstickers! They taste pan fried so I think I like that about them. They also have a great sauce bar: soy sauce, sesame oil, black vinegar, garlic sauce, and chili sauce. Truly exceptional dining is hard to find, and I had a healthy dose of skepticism when this new store opened up in Cerritos and had long lines. My mom was eager to try it, but I was simply hoping that it wasn't overhyped. My cynicism was misplaced. Several weeks after grand opening, the initial surge of crowd died down after the promotional deals ended. When I stopped by on Saturday to pick up a to-go order, there were just a few tables occupied in the store. The indoor dining area was bigger than I expected, and there's a small outdoor patio too. The staff got my online order ready just in time, and the food was still very hot. She even double checked my order to ensure that I had everything I ordered. This was a refreshing practice because I am usually the one checking everything before leaving. The potstickers and dumplings were tasty. We tried the signature filling and the veggie filling, both were flavorful. We also tried their famous sour-spicy soup, and I decided that it's the best of its kind among all the ones I tried in the United States. I'll need a plane ticket to Taiwan to get better ones. The mala spicy noodle was just okay. I would focus on their dumplings. The prepackaged side dishes were decent, but a little overpriced for the quantity. Excited to have BD so close to home. First time going in on a weekday around 7:00. The place wasn't packed but just the right amount of ppl getting food to eat there and to go. The place had high ceilings and actually pretty nicely put together. Much better than their Covina location. The restaurant is next to Chipotle at the Cerritos Mall, Macy side. Parking is relatively easy to find unlike the Nordstrom side of the mall which makes wanting to eat dinner anywhere near the mall bearable. For this first time, I ordered the food to go on their website and picked up at the restaurant. The process is super easy. They have the to go orders in cubicles behind the counter. Just tell the staff and they'll get it for you. Ordering online was super easy too. They already give you set meals to select from or you can order them a la carte. I got the house pan fried with wonton soup and a side order of six kimchi. The house tastes great. The kimchi was just ok and more on the oily side, like the wonton shop. But I still enjoyed it. Sesame noodle can use some heat but the portions are generous. My favorite was the hot and sour soup. All of their dumplings and the different forms I got didn't have m too much "peel". You'll get a buzzer to get your food when it's ready. It's really clean and modern inside. You pick any table you want. Entree: beef noodle soup- be sure to ask for no cilantro if you don't like it. The broth is rich and a little different from other restaurants. It's simmered with daikon! Sides: loved the fried pork chop! Super juicy and tender Signature potsticker: highly recommended! Came out super hot and freshly made with the perfect crispy crust. They also passed out samples of this for customers to taste test while in line which was really nice of them. We were surprised to see that they also sell pre-packaged frozen dumplings! I got a pack of their signature pork and cabbage flavor for an easy meal at home. I'm no expert when it comes to Taiwanese dumplings, but I've had a fair share of them over the years. My wife and I had seen this location on a previous trip to the Cerritos Mall, and wanted to try it so, today, we did. The restaurant is located on the East facing side, on the Southern end of the mall, just north of Macy's, and right next to Chipotle. There's no entrance from inside the mall. The interior is bright and fresh, with ample seating. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the owner took some time to speak with us, which was delightful. Food is ordered at the counter, and they offer a variety of dumplings, pot stickers, soups, and noodle dishes. They even have some vegetarian options. For our first visit, I ordered the #1 Special, which included 12 pan-fried pot stickers, and a very generous serving of Hot & Sour Soup. Now, I'm a huge fan of hot & sour soup, and I've had some that was just ok. This, however, was truly the best I've ever had. It had tiny enoki mushrooms, green onions, carrots, tofu, tiny shreds of pork, and the spice level was moderate. I'm still thinking about it hours later. The pot stickers were different than I'm used to. They weren't stuffed with ground pork. Instead, it was a loose mix of fresh vegetables, and bits of chopped pork. The flavor was delicate, delicious, and very satisfying. I shared several with my wife, who loved them, too. My wife ordered 6 of their signature dumplings and, again, they weren't packed tight with ground pork. Instead, the tender, chewy dough was filled with a mix of vegetables and meat, making for a very enjoyable bite. (she shared one with me!) Along with the self-service chopsticks, spoons, forks, and napkins, there are dispensers for dipping sauces: soy sauce, garlic sauce, black vinegar, and sesame oil. There's also some chili paste/sauce in bottles if you want to spice things up. There's a self-service soda station, and water cups are available. I just have to make a brief mention of the prices. We both thought they were very reasonable. My #1 Special was $13.75, and the soup serving was VERY generous. The 6 dumplings were $6.50. Next time we go, I'm going to try the Beef Noodle Soup. read more

New dumpling spot located at the Cerritos Mall! It's more along the lines of Taiwanese fast food spot but a good place to grab dumplings real quick if you're craving! The place is new so it's nice and clean. There's also lots of seating available inside and some outside. Service is friendly. It got pretty crowded during lunchtime on a weekday but everyone seemed to get their food at a reasonable time, at least I did. There's lots of sauces available to get yourself. I tried all of them but my favorite was the garlic! Make sure if you're getting it to go, you grab some sauces because the dumplings are much better with the sauces and I'm not sure if they give it to you unless you ask. I ordered the bafang signature potsticker combo with the noodles. -Signature Potstickers: It came with 6 that had pork and cabbage filling. They were good but nothing special to be honest, very mild in flavor so I definitely recommend trying the sauces they offer. I liked how they were soft on one side and crispy on the other, it was a very slight contrast in texture but I do wish there was a bit more crisp. 3/5 but 4/5 with the garlic sauce -Signature Noodles: The noodles were the highlight for me. I wasn't really sure what kind of sauce it was since there's no description but it tasted nutty and the spice was very mild. The noodles were the perfect chewiness and there was a generous amount of green onions. It was really flavorful and a pretty large portion, I'd definitely get this next time. 5/5 Overall, this is a pretty good place to grab some dumplings and noodles if you're craving that! The signature dumplings and potstickers were really tasty and I like that we can customize the sauce to dip to your liking. I was also able to try the new pork chop and pork belly rice bowl. I think the taste is closer to authenticity than most fast growing dumpling houses however the sheer execution can be underwhelming, the beef noodle had a salty oyster sauce taste but the noodles were delightful and bouncy same can be said about the dry noodles which had a better more customizable taste. Both dumpling options tasted straight from the freezer like you make at home while the actual filling had a good taste, the wrappers just don't taste fresh. You can say the price point and convenience would make this a nice choice for mall shoppers but not worth going out of your way read more

Ordered on DoorDash for a quick pickup. When I got to the counter, a mom and daughter had just ordered. The girl at the counter walked away, presumably to take care of the order. I then waited 5 minutes at the counter while 3 different staff members walked by, none of whom acknowledged me as a customer. No "Someone will help you in a movement" or anything. They all saw me, cuz they all walked by me. One girl did say "hi" but then quickly went to have a convo with some other staff guy. I do not understand how this is customer service. They were not busy. There was one table seated that was eating, the customers before me who sat down and were waiting for their meal, no one else in line. Even if they had a lot of online orders it didn't give a reason for why they would straight up ignore a live, breathing customer who was standing right in front of them. I was purposefully testing these people and truly I was shocked by the lax and just poor customer service. Also, the trash cans outside looked dirty, the door handles look like they could use some love. All I can say is I'm disappointed. Delicious dumplings! The potstickers are pretty good too but the dumplings really steal the show. The potstickers could have been a little bit crunchier on the bottom but regardless they were still very tasty regardless. The the Signature Noodles have the perfect level of mala spice in the sauce. Even if you don't enjoy sauces that have some spice to them, you might enjoy this one. Mala is a numbing spice (Szechuan peppercorn) so you get a flavorful tingle on your tongue without getting your taste buds seared off. The sauce is creamy and reminds me of the sauce on rose tteokbokki but with a more enjoyable kick. Last but not least, the value is hard to beat! While the prices can always change, what they are charging for the amount of tasty food you are getting is refreshingly reasonable in this economy. Bafang - I hope y'all might consider selling jars/containers of the Signature Noodle sauce. It would taste awesome on so many dishes (tteokbokki comes to mind) that may not fit well into your menu but would be delicious for people to cook at home. read more

I was there around 3pm which wasn't a busy time. I ordered a #6 and specifically asked if it could be substituted with the mala beef dry noodle. I was told yes, and the substitution was also shown on the receipt. However, I didn't realize until I got home that the mala sauce was missing. There were only two people in the kitchen, and one of them was also the cashier. They were talking while preparing food (without masks while wrapping dumplings), and it seemed like the person making my order wasn't paying close attention. This was very disappointing since I went specifically for the mala beef noodles, which have become my new favorite item at Bafang. I don't usually like to leave bad reviews, but this seems like the only way to bring these issues to management's attention.
