I am so happy I found this place!! It's at the corner of a small plaza but plenty of parking if you go before dinner time. The service is super fast and kind,, with the servers very attentive and ready to take your orders. The tables are usually a 4 seater and huge. They start off by giving you the essential side dishes which are delish!! every single one of them hit!!! We got the original soondae soup which is pretty equivalent to something you would have in Korea. It reminded me of home, which is awesome. The Hinoki Steam Set comes with SO MUCH MEAT and mushroom/veggies it's a great deal. That set is probably good for 2-3 people. If you're looking to take your parents out for lunch or dinner, or just a friend catch up with drinks, this is the perfect spot for you. Casual and traditional Korean food at its finest!!

Whenever I go to a soondae restaurant, I always order the soondae soup and make sure to ask for "soondae only." For those who aren't familiar, soondae (or sundae) is a type of Korean sausage made mainly with pork blood, cellophane noodles, and glutinous rice. If you don't ask for "only soondae," the soup usually comes with other pork offal/organs (heart, liver, intestines, etc.). Some people love that variety, but not my preference. What I really enjoy is the broth -- rich, flavorful, and loaded with protein. It reminds me of sulungtang broth but, depending on the restaurant, even better. Alongside the broth, the soondae itself is solid and satisfying. The side dishes here were also fresh and good quality (see pics). This restaurant is fairly new (maybe about a year old?) and tucked into a small plaza on a corner, so it's easy to miss. Parking can be a hassle since the lot is cramped with multiple businesses, but I've never had to wait more than 3-5 minutes for a spot. Inside, the restaurant is clean and comfortable, making it a good choice whether you're eating solo, with family, or in a small group. Soondae soup is also one of those go-to dishes if you're hungover or feel like you're coming down with something -- it's hearty, comforting, and restorative. The only drawback is the price: after tax and tip, it comes out to a little over $20 per bowl. Not cheap, but with food costs rising everywhere, it's still worth it for a hearty, authentic Korean meal. I recommend!

They changed ownership awhile ago w/ a couple menu updates. I really enjoyed this new edition as it comes w/ big dumplings and the soup base of galbi tang. Clean, simple and comforting. Give this a try if you've tried a lot of their other soups. We love Daniel as our server along w/ the owner James.

It feels like walking into a nondescript Korean restaurant in Korea, and not necessarily in Seoul but maybe in the suburbs. Every diner was an old Korean man which you know means it's legit, perfect for the uncle's palate. This isn't clean nice urban Korean food that you'll find delicate young ladies taking neat bites of; this is soul food, food that you eat chewing with your mouth open to savor every last drop of your soup that's made out of blood and intestines, as you feel beads of sweat rolling down from the piping hot heat and bold flavors. I love it. The kimchis taste different here too, more unctuous like it's got some fish sauce in it. The grilled gobchang is definitely not something I order on the regular, much to my cardiologist's relief, as it is quite a heavy greasy meal with TONS of whole garlic cloves and onions. Every table has its own ipad for ordering, with English on it, but there are also hustling aunties busying around taking care of everyone. Come for a hearty meal with good people.

Galbi jim. So good! The ttuk and mushroom soaked up the soup and was delicious

Wow everything was outstanding. Food was amazing! Service was awesome! And entering the resturant the atmosphere was like being transported back to Korea! The soondae was soft and tasted good. The star of the meal was definitely the galbi jim. It did take a while to prepare and comes to the table with a table top burner to keep the dish warm. We had some young children at the Table so we didn't keep if on for very long but the flavor was definitely already there. The meat was tender and came off the bone. Another favorite part of the meal was the rice cake and mushroom. They absorbed all the flavor of the soup. The restaurant was empty to whole time we were there. With how good everything was here i would have expected the place be much more busier. So go check it out next time you're craving so good delicous soup.

Moobongri in Cerritos/Artesia is a hidden gem for hearty Korean comfort food. The vibes are casual and homey--perfect for when you're craving something warm and satisfying. Their daily specials are seriously underrated: you can score their seafood pancake (haemul pajeon) for nearly half off, and it's crispy, packed with seafood, and not too greasy. But the dishes that keep us coming back? The GALBIJIM--braised short ribs that are melt-in-your-mouth tender, with that perfect sweet-savory glaze. I am so obsessed with the veggies and rice cakes that come with the meat too!! And the beef brisket soup (seollongtang) is rich, milky, and deeply comforting--especially when you add a little salt and green onion to taste. Portion sizes are generous, and you'll leave full, happy, and planning your next visit!

I loved my experience here. It was so spacious and clean! No wait at all which is crazy because as soon as I tried their kimchi I already knew it was going to be good because it tasted like spicy braised short rib and their sweet braised beef short rib was amazing! So rich and so much meat and I loved that it came with Korean sweet potato and pumpkin and rice cakes! The seasoning was perfectly sweet and savory. The beef rib soup with glass noodle was so clean and comforting perfectly how I like it and I like that it had a lot of geeen onion and jujube dates very nourishing! The seafood pancake was nice and crispy and gad a great seafood flavor to it! The workers were also nice! Great experience overall! Would definitely go again! Sharing my experience in video form soon! Ig/tiktok/youtube: @rachiesayang

Galbi jjim + ban chans + seafood pancakes

I've been here a few times, and I always order a (spicy) galbi jjim. It is one of my parents' favorite dishes to get at a Korean restaurant. If you don't want to wait in the super long lines for Jin Cook, Moobongri is a good alternative! I've never had to waitlist/wait for seating whenever I've gone. The only tough thing about it is that the parking can be a little tight, as the plaza is quite small and there are a few other restaurants in the same small lot. The service is super quick, you are also able to order via the tablet on the table. The table has an assortment of condiments for extra dipping needs, and all the utensils and napkins are located on the side of the table, so you don't need to call anyone if you need those things. The waiter/waitress does come to check up on you pretty often if you need anything, like more water or additional banchan. The ban chan here is also very fresh and super tasty. My favorite was the salted chives. The spicy galbi jjim was absolutely delicious. The meat was super tender, basically fall-off-the-bone tender! I also loved the veggies it was served with, especially the kabocha and the shitake mushroom. Normally, I don't really like shitake mushrooms, but the one here was absolutely delicious, and I was shocked. I ended up eating almost all of them, oops. Personally, I don't think it was too spicy, but my parents thought it had a nice kick to it. I've also had the seafood pancake, and would say it is pretty delicious too. It is crispy, and you get bits and pieces of different seafood bites. Overall would come again and try other foods, until next time, Moobongri.

Service is going downhill. After NUMEROUS disappointments, today was my last straw. I try to be understanding, especially when I can tell that the staff is new. I ordered white soups at around 12 PM, in-person because they weren't answering the phone. Restaurant wasn't packed, at least 3-4 empty tables. And for personal reasons (brother had wisdom teeth removed, mom is a cancer patient), and after waiting over 30 minutes, the soups came out red. When I pointed out the mistake, she tried to gaslight me and said I had ordered spicy soups. She told me "it's not even that spicy", "I should just try it" or I'd have to wait another 30 minutes for the correct order... I was shocked and left with the wrong soups because no... I wasn't waiting any longer. Never coming here again, parking is horrible anyways.

    Hinoki - brisket and veggies
    Millena P.

Wow, this is the spot for authentic Korean dishes and environment. Parking: They're located in a small plaza. Finding a spot is difficult. Highly recommend backing into a spot if you can. Ambiance/Environment: It's located in the corner. It doesn't look like much outside, but once you walk in, it's really nice and clean. They have a medium sized space with a good amount of indoor seating. I love their tables bc there's a hidden drawer filled with utensils & napkins. Service: One female server assisted us. She didn't mention her name, but she was courteous, quick, & efficient! There was a language barrier, but she knows enough to get by. You'd order via the tablet and pay at the end. Food: 1) Hinoki - This was larger than I thought! The brisket and veggies came in a Hinoki wood cooked on top of a portable butane stove. Everything inside was cooked well done. Make sure to dip this in their sauce! I paired this with white rice. It was sooo delicious! 2) Grilled large intestines and abomasum - Aka daechang and makchang in Korean. This was one of their new dishes. It was also cooked on top of a portable butane stove with a generous amount of bell peppers, onions, & garlic. The intestines were not too chewy and had lots of flavor. 3) Spicy Soondae Soup - Soondae is Korean blood sausage. It was cooked well but could use a bit more Soondae. It also contained other veggies. The soup was sooo good! It actually wasn't too spicy. Pricing: It is on the pricier end, but trust me when I say it's worth it. We enjoyed our dining experience!

This is Korean comfort food at its finest! If you're looking for authentic comfort food in Cerritos, then this is the spot to go to! They're known for their soondae, hearty Korean soups, and steamed meats like their brisket and pork belly. I love Korean blood sausage, and the ones they make here are homemade and super tasty. If you're not a fan, then I would recommend getting their steamed brisket which comes with some chives, beansprouts, and enoki mushrooms, where the meat is so tender. We also got one of their specials, which was a combo that included a choice of gopchang, daechang, or makchang, with a bottle of soju or beer which was such a great deal! All the meats are grilled right in front of you, and the meat soaks up so much flavor. All their banchan is fresh and made from scratch, pairing perfectly with all the meats you get here as well. I highly recommend coming here if you want delicious and authentic Korean comfort food!

Moobongri Soondae is such an underrated spot! This gem is one of my favorite traditional authentic Korean restaurants I've been to. Known for their soondae, grilled intestines, braised beef short ribs and Hinoki steamed meat, I can see this place being really popular! The Hinoki steamed brisket and pork belly is prepared in the kitchen and then brought out in a cypress wood steamer to be cooked a bit more at the table. The braised beef short ribs was tender and rich in flavor, making the overall dish so good! I love the cleanliness of the restaurant, new and modern. The location shares a small parking lot with other restaurants but there are close parking spots on the street as well. Service here was amazing, super friendly and attentive. While enjoying my dinner, the staff kept checking up to make sure the brisket was getting cooked properly in the Hinoki steamer. I'll have to come back for the grilled intestines and soondae!

From the friendly service that made us feel like home, to the delicious food, everything hit the spot. We ordered the cold noodle, seafood pancake, bibambap, and short rib combo. All the dishes were so good! And all the banchan that came with it was the cherry on top. The only negative was the table was kind of small for all the dishes...though that could have been user error with us ordering way too much. Portions were surprisingly big, especially the seafood pancake. The whole time, our littlest one was making a mess and the ladies that worked there did not seem perturbed at all, and kept commenting about how cute he was and interacting with him. This type of service and response made us feel more at ease and able to "enjoy" our meal, and that makes a world of difference. I would recommend! Note the parking lot is a little small.
