Inside of their 6 Kimchi & Pork Dumplings

Boyfriend and I had been wanting to come here for ages. I'm not gonna lie. I do miss biology at this location, but Bafang is a delicious replacement. I really like the way they do combos because you can try a little bit of everything if you're a curious foodie like me. They also have a stamp card specifically for their combos where if you buy 10 combos and get 10 punches on your stamp card you get your next combo for free. My boyfriend who is a bit of a picky eater, liked their signature potstickers and dumplings as well as the veggie plant-based ones we both agree we would love to eat there again. There's plenty of parking since this is in a shopping center.

Big fat, NO! I've a couple of these Bafang dumpling shops opening in the valley. Very curious after the Northridge location open and finally had the chance to check it out. Ordering online was very convenient. I arrived at the time specified and had to wait for the cashier to finish something on the phone. The 7:30pm sunset was beating down through the windows making the place warm. About 5 mins later someone from the back assisted me. I told them I was picking up and online order. Order recieved and I went home. I ordered almost one of each item that had "signature". Got the potstickers, dumplings, noodles, spicy wonton, and corn chowder. The dumplings were bad. No flavor, gummy texture, and I can't event tell you what the filling is. The potstickers were a lil better but had the same gummy texture. For an item that should be fried/crispy it wasn't there at all. I can say maybe it was steamed from the time the item was boxed until it reached me. The noodles, same gummy texture as dumpling, no flavor. Spicy wonton is decent if there was enough spicy sauce. My favorite happened to be the corn chowder. I recieved this because the potsticker and dumpling was part of a combo. All in all im not a fan. Im writing about my dissatisfaction about the food instead of enjoying it. Parking: medium size private lot VERDICT: One and done

A solid spot to satisfy your dumpling and noodle cravings at a great price, perfect for any CSUN student! Walking distance from campus too. My friends and I have been at least 5 times by now, and here is what we recommend: -Any of the noodles, and their signature noodle isn't actually spicy although it has the spicy symbol. The beef noodle goes well with the cilantro and cucumber seasonings, and the sesame noodle is a nutty favorite! -Pork and cabbage dumplings and potstickers; they manage to cook the potstickers with a great balance of soft steamed exterior and a crunchy bottom! -Wonton soup; my personal favorite, although the dumplings are a bit fragile and I don't understand how it contains dairy (I wish it didn't, as now I am aware I can no longer eat it) We have yet to try the pork fried rice and beef noodle soup, but other than that, we've gotten a fair tour of the menu! The combinations are such great price for the portion you get, and you're more than likely to have leftovers to take home (everything is served in a to-go container, which makes it even more convenient). There is a sauce bar to customize your own sauce, and they give a CSUN discount which is super thoughtful! This is a solid establishment that my friends and I will continue to return to!

I finally had the opportunity to come visit this place on a Friday night since I was hungry. I was the one who added this place on Yelp and Google maps. I remember seeing this place when they were in the process of taking over the space. When I arrived to the plaza this place on a Friday night, I found parking right in the front. I looked at their menu and did the #7 combo deal of the noodles and wonton soup with a small soda. They'll give you a pager for when your food is ready. It didn't take long for my order to be made and I ate it inside of the place. It's a college vibe environment since it's near a CSUN which I'm a alumni at. I thought the noodle was alright, I added some chili to it but it was just noodles with no protein. Wonton isn't my favorite but I tried the soup and it's still not my favorite. The best part of my meal was my Pepsi, the soda options are all Pepsi products. Their small size cup is actually not a small size. Customer service here is excellent. If I was to come back in the future, I'll try something with rice.

This location of Bafang is not my favorite, but since it is close to CSUN campus and relatively affordable, I appreciate it for what it is! For some reason, it is always unbearable warm inside the restaurant, warmer than it is outside in the sun. I have ordered both the Signature Noodle/Potsticker combo and the Dumpling/Potsticker/Soup combo, and they are all pretty good! Wish there was more than one vegetarian dumpling option like there is in Taiwan, but maybe one day. The hot and sour soup has pork in it, which is not advertised on the menu, and it is lacking the sourness expected in a hot and sour soup. Much of the food is greatly improved with some DIY dressing up with the sauce bar, which has soy, soy garlic, sesame oil, and chili sauce. Service is relatively quick, but my main gripe with this location is just how hot it is inside. The location is relatively new, but I am wary of stopping by in the Northridge summer heat.

I originally dropped by here before but upon walking in, I felt like I was in a cafeteria and that was not my vibe that evening lol. My family and I were looking for a nice, sit down restaurant and this was not that, my mistake for assuming! Came back last night to go for a quick pick me up dinner which is what this place is. Parking is absurd here but it has always been like that. There was really only one guy taking orders, giving the orders, and helping customers so as soon as I ordered one thing, he stepped aside to help another customer and then apologized and came back to finishing our order. Sat down at a vacant 2 seater table. The trash/tray area next to the soda machine was not clean and very distracting if you sit near it. It was gross. The soda machine area had soda all over the counter top as well so it was kinda gross putting your cup on there because then the bottom would just be sticky. Food took a bit, they have sauce dispensers and containers for you to take what you want. I ordered gyoza and they didn't have gyoza so that was my gripe. Had to enjoy my food at home and make my own gyoza sauce. Other than that, they were a bit soggy and wish they were more on the crispy side. The pork chop bowl was alright, had a lot of flavor but also a bit on the soggier side. We still want to come back and try their noodles but overall it was okay for fast food dumplings I suppose. Finally a place for dumplings! They have dumplings and potstickers (comes in signature, kimchi or vegetable). They also have a wonton soup, noodles and rice dishes. Not a huge menu which is a good sign. They have a punch card! Cool! I saw they sell their dumplings frozen in bags as well. I will say that there is a wait for your order so you might want to order ahead unless you're okay waiting 20minutes or so. I guess that's good its not ready too quickly, right? To each their own on that one They have plenty of seating if you would like to eat at the restaurant. Its cute. I wpuld definitely come back for the dumplings.

Love the authentic dumplings! I have quite a hard time choosing between the dumplings and trying something new, but i finally tried their noodles and loved them too. The noodles are so comforting. Similar to something my mom cooked for me when I was sick as a kid. The noodles are bouncy, the beef is tender, and the soup was spicy. My partner enjoyed the rice with pork. He likes the pork belly that is so tender it melts. And the pickled veggies perfectly balances the rich dish. Plenty of parking in the private lot. And really nice and fast service. Casual style restaurant that a balance of fast food but it's freshly and well made.

Decent dumpling spot next to CSUN offering a plethora of pan fried dumplings and steamed as well as combo meals -- think of it like the Yoshinoya (maybe slightly better) of Taiwanese cuisine. My tastes prefer a bit more of the bold and vibrant flavors of Szechuan, but the food here is high quality, super cheap, and the service is quick and speedy. Plenty of space to enjoy your meal in the airy environment as well. Our party ordered a bunch of things to try from the pork cutlet to dumplings to noodles--my fave was the beef noodle soup. Rich beef broth and a delish noodle akin to ramen. Wish they had more variety of dumplings, though.

Ordered on DoorDash. Never again. The chicken was raw and soft. The pork chop was mostly fat. The noodles were DRY & bland. The spicy wontons were OK. Potstickers taste like they've been frozen and heated up in the microwave. Honestly this was a waste of money and the biggest disappointment. Whatever they say they are "dumpling restaurant" is a joke. I'd go anywhere else before i try this place again.

Tried their new Northridge location. It's a casual chain setup--you order at the counter, grab a table, and wait for your food. I went with Combo #8: Bafang pork chop with old-fashioned noodles, plus a side of chili pepper fried chicken. Everything was really flavorful and hit the spot. The pork chop was well-seasoned, the noodles were comforting, and the fried chicken had a nice kick. That said, the portion felt a bit small for $27.93. Flavor-wise, I was satisfied--but I definitely could've eaten more. Overall, a solid spot if you're craving something tasty, just wish the portions matched the price a bit better. I'll def come back and order the Taiwanese Beef Noodle soup next!

Let me start by saying that this is a place that my brother, who lives in Porter Ranch, goes to often. His wife is from Taiwan and they find themselves coming here instead of having to drive all the way to San Gabriel for Taiwanese food. Since my brother comes here often, I figured that it had to be good. It turns out that it was alright. Nothing that will blow your hair back. I ordered their Taiwanese beef noodle soup, Bafang signature noodles, old fashion noodles, Bafang signature pot stickers, pork chop with braised pork belly on rice and their wonton soup. The Taiwanese beef noodle soup was, alright. For some reason I always think about the beef noodle soup I would get at the Taiwan Intl airport during my stop overs which had a stronger star anise flavor. This soup hardly had any star anise flavor and I felt that it landed flat for me. You do get a large portion though. The Bafang signature noodles were okay. They had nice spicy kick but the flavor wasn't anything special. Actually the old fashion noodles were more flavorful and would be what I would go with if I was ordering noodles. The pork chop with braised pork belly on rice was not for me. The main reason was the pork they used had a really strong gamey flavor that was quite overpowering. The wonton soup wasn't a dish I would order again. Not much flavor and the skins on the wontons were falling apart probably because the wontons had been cooking in the soup for so long. If I did order it again, it would be for take out and I'd add a few drops of sesame oil into the broth before eating it. The Bafang signature potstickers was probably the strongest dish but even then it was just okay. The texture was nice and crispy but the meat filling didn't have any flavorful punch where it could stand on its own. Dipping it in vinegar, sesame oil or chili oil helps it out. All in all it the meal was reasonably priced and the food wasn't bad but it's not something I'd crave but it does beat what you'd get at most other fast food restaurants.

I would like to give this restaurant a 5 star, but I just can't. The 5 stars I would give are for their Fried Chicken, Pickled Cucumbers, and their Pork Chop with Braised Pork Belly Rice. Those 3 dishes IMHO are so delicious that sometimes I crave them for days and they trigger memories of Chinese food from when I was a kid. However... They fail on their dumplings and noodles. The 3 times I've had their noodles, twice was overcooked and once a little undercooked. I am convinced they don't know how to make noodles, which is strange since they are Chinese food and its origins is in Taiwan. So you'd think the know how to cook noodles. The worse tho are their dumplings. No matter which one I ordered... they are REALLY BLAND!!! No taste whatsoever! Is it that difficult to give the dumplings some seasoning or are they just relying on the sauces and chili crisps? Even if that's the case... the dumplings are still bland AF! Seriously... frozen dumplings you get from the supermarkets are way better! This is why I can only give it a 4 stars, it basically averages the REALLY good vs. the below average. I will never order their noodles or dumplings ever again, but I will most definitely order the Fried Chicken, Pickled Cucumbers, and their Pork Chop with Braised Pork Belly Rice. They are so good.. they seriously remind me of my childhood! read more

One star only because their sauces tasted good. That's about it. FYI the hot and sour soup has pork and in it and I can't eat pork. Thankfully, I noticed before eating it. The online description doesn't indicate any meat of any kind. Plus, hot and sour soup usually doesn't have meets. If you are used to good quality dumplings like Din Tai Fung, then this place isn't it. read more

Food is ok. nothing to write home about. This is just my opinion, but bibigo frozen dumplings made at home are meatier, bigger, and have a better, thicker wrapper. Don't bother getting crispy dumplings from here if you aren't gonna eat them as soon as they come out. Didn't survive a five min drive home, (super soggy fast because the dumpling skin is very thin). The signature noodles are very oily. I also waited an extremely long time for an order with 2 items only, when the whole store was pretty much empty. Must be understaffed. The place was clean except for some sauce & oil on the tables. read more

I love their dumplings. For me to have fresh dumplings/ potstickers ready, 15 minutes is fast. If you are looking for something quick and that could fill tummy, Bafang is good to stop by to get your lunch. The place has a lot of seats with tables. !Another gem in the SFV 818! Food: Delicious. The dumpling wrappers were perfectly balanced--not too thick or thin--and the kimchi & pork filling was a standout. The boneless pork chop was well seasoned and cooked just right. Noodles had a great bite. The mala noodle soup could've been spicier for my taste, but it was still worth ordering. Overall, everything was cooked and seasoned very well. Service: Self-serve. You order and pick up at the counter and clean up your table when finished. Tables can be a bit messy at times, but staff will quickly wipe them down if you ask. Ambiance: Very casual, bright, and spacious, though the seating area feels a bit small for the size of the place. Stopped by the grand opening of Bafang Dumpling and was excited to finally try this Taiwanese chain. It's a fast casual spot with a decent amount of seating, but it can become difficult to find a table. Parking was also super convenient since it's located in the strip mall by Big 5 with plenty of spaces. My family and I ordered three different combos so we could sample a little bit of everything. Honestly, everything we tried was solid and really tasty for a fast casual chain. The signature pot stickers are a MUST order. We also tried the pork chop and chili pepper fried chicken, and both were well seasoned and satisfying. I really liked the chicken sauce that it came with that was on the side. You can also find the condiments on the side when you pick up your food: chili sauce, garlic sauce, sesame oil, black vinegar, and soy sauce. Overall, a great addition to the area if you're craving Taiwanese comfort food but want something quick and casual. read more

Went there during their grand opening and came back again the following day for some take out. Bought some chicken and corn pot stickers and regular dumplings. Also bought their frozen chicken corn dumpling and their signature dumplings. What a disappointment!! The signature frozen dumpling doesn't have flavor other than salt. There's no mmmph! Everything is salty. It's just one dimension of seasoning. I love chicken and corn dumpling and not sure if I should even open the bag to cook. Compare to mama Lu's frozen dumplings or Yi Mei's with great flavor and seasoning and it got that umami kick to it. A bag of 50 frozen dumplings. $25 for the signature and $27 for the corn and I'll save you some money right now and tell you this my friends. You can get better flavor, texture and value at any Asian supermarket or even st Costco. Doesn't matter if it's made fresh if you're going to purchase it frozen. I really want to love this place but their food lack seasoning. The staffs are friendly and always serves with a smile. A self serve vending machine of sodas, teas and water. A pickup after yourself returning tray area. Is all of that a reason for me to go back to try their other items? Maybe not. I wish you success and best of luck at the Northridge location. read more

I always get delivery from this location, and I love, love, love the braised pork chop with the nicely cooked rice with the pickled cucumbers/vegetables. Every bite is a melody, and I love how the pork chop melts in your mouth. The Taiwanese chicken is also really flavorful and always crispy! I haven't been to the location itself, but the service is reflected by how they always package the order securely, add utensils and a bunch of sauces! The garlic one is my favorite! We really liked this place! The food was delicious, and the portions were fair for the price. Everything tasted very flavorful with their sauces. The person who helped us was friendly and informative, which made the experience even better. The ambience was open and inviting, with really nice outdoor lighting that made it feel comfortable and welcoming. The only small issue was that our combo was supposed to come with six potstickers, but we only received five which was kind of sad because they were so good! Wanted to stop by here to try it out since we've heard good things about it. There was a little mix up with our order and it took a bit to get our food, however the staff was very kind and generous and we got to try a few extra things on the menu. The Bafang signature noodles were delicious, especially with some garlic sauce. Both dumplings and potstickers were good too. The wonton soup was perfect for the gloomy and cool weather. 14 bucks for a bunch of dumplings and a soup, Or 10 dollars for a killer bowl of pork and rice, well seasoned and everything, even with a station with soy sauce or siracha and some others, the ambiance is very casual and calming. I had high expectations from this place. If I can't have Din Tai Fung in the Valley, then I'm looking for 2nd bests out here. After trying this place out today, my search continues. Went on a Sunday afternoon with a group of friends and wasn't very impressed. It was busy and tables were full. Wait time for food wasn't terrible with all things considered, however there was no one dedicated to clearing tables. People were having to wipe down their own tables down. Trashcans and bussing station were overflowing with plates and garbage. Food came out quickly and it was hot, but didn't really seem special. Beef soup was unflavorful. Dumplings were similar to frozen dumplings you'd find at Costco. Noodles were oily and also flavorless. I don't see us coming back anytime soon. I went here recently, and I was impressed. Not only was the food good the Environment looks great as well super modern and clean. First time I went I waited a little bit longer than I thought but it was very much worth it. Second time I went wait was actually a lot better. But if you go and get the potstickers I suggest the veggie ones they are very good. Also last time I went staff was really friendly and offered really great suggestions which helps a lot when you going somewhere for the first time. Will be going back! read more

The food was amazing and affordable! I got 2 noodle and 2 fumbling dishes which was only $38 plus tax and tip. The service was fast and food was ready within 10-15 minute even when they were crowded. A Strong New Addition to Northridge's Food Scene Bafang Dumpling just opened in Northridge and it's already shaping up to be a go-to spot for dumplings and Taiwanese comfort food. We started with the Corn & Chicken Dumplings, and they were excellent. The dumplings were tender and juicy with a subtle sweetness from the corn that balanced perfectly with the chicken. It's easy to see why this is a kid favorite. The Signature Potstickers (Pork & Cabbage) were done just right--crispy golden bottoms with soft wrappers and a flavorful filling. When my mom paid for the check, my husband politely mentioned to our server that the broth tasted sour, just as a heads up in case other customers complained. The server spoke with the kitchen and kindly refunded a portion of the phos back to my mom's cc, which was appreciated. If you looked at our table when we left, it looked as though we barely touched our meal. In our haste, we should have just returned the porkchop, too. After posting about our disappointment on IG, four other people chimed in agreeing that it was the worst pho they've had, too (all four are Asian decent, two being Viet themselves).
