My husband and I are visiting from out of town, and discovered this gem because we were looking for good, cheap takeout breakfast. The bagels were delicious -- Big Sur on a gluten free bagel and Lumber jack on an everything bagel. The texture of the gluten free bagel was the perfect amount of chewiness and softness, not crumbly like many GF breads. I recommend calling in your order because it does take a while. Long line on a Sunday morning. Everyone practiced social distancing when standing in line. These bagels are light and airy, not cement gut bombs like you'll find at many bagel shops. The bagel sandwiches look enormous on the menu, but they're just the right size in real life. Their coffee is good and I recently had a dirty chai with oat milk that was in point. The only constructive criticism for the shop is that the ordering, paying, and picking up process is a bit confusing. It's not clear who's in line to order, who's waiting to pay, and who's waiting to pickup their food or drink. Coming from Downey, CA. Near LB, making our way up to North Cal and we stopped by Bagel Kitchen. Louie was the first one to greet us and the last to tell us "have a great day". Everyone working at Bagel Kitchen is on point, they flow together and I must say their bagels are amazing. Delicious! The food here is amazing, be aware the salmon is dyed and smells and tastes very strong. But for me that's okay, it still tasted good but the smell stuck. Every bagel here has been amazing. So many options and you can call or order there. Nice easy going environment, never rushed, great place to meet with friends or kids. The guys at the back making the bagels were amazing but the guy taking orders with mid length hair just ignored me until the guys making the orders turned around and helped. That's a full five minutes despite calling my order in. His hair was waving around the food and his hygiene in handling food and taking money had me choose never to go here again. Waited about 10 minutes to order a veggie bagel, I forget what it was called. Sun dried tomatoes, sprouts, avocado...and a medium black coffee. The staff needed to try a smile and a "good morning" rather than just going through the motions with "help you?" I've had a lot of lox bagels in my day but this was by the far the worst. There was hardly any lox, as you can see in the photo, and they piled on capers making it so salty. I couldn't even eat the other half. I'm sure if I wanted a bagel with egg and bacon on it they do a fine job- but stay clear of the so called lox. Probably won't be returning seeing as there are two other bagel spots around the corner that do a solid lox. read more
