Went to this place on a cold chilly day in May, and it was a delight. Got a hot chocolate as drink and a classic bacon egg&cheese on a roll with salt and paper and ketchup. I thought my food was good but it had little bit too much salt and pepper on my sandwich just be mindful. Really nice deli overall though and the service was very kind and quick. Don't waste your time or money. They can't even prepare a simple order correctly or give you what you paid for. I ordered through DoorDash, and my meal was supposed to include coffee and orange juice, but I only received the coffee. There was no orange juice, no cheese, and no everything bagel as ordered. Came here on a Sunday morning to grab some breakfast to-go. When we arrived the place was empty and we were the only ones in the store. Our order was fairly large (5 people), but everyone got bacon, egg, and cheese sandwiches on bagels, and a single order of home fries. As we waited the place got busier, but people coming in after us seemed to be getting their food well before us. We finally went to the front to check in and were told they couldn't find our order anymore. We found our receipt and gave it to the staff and our bagels appeared shortly thereafter. They stated the home fries took a while, though 20+ minutes for home fries seems a bit excessive. I think they may have just forgotten about our order or accidentally given it to someone else. Once we got our sandwiches they were decent, but nothing special. Bacon seemed like the kind you would get from McDonalds and nothing was all that flavorful. There's a lot of negative press here but honestly...I don't get it. I've been coming here for years and they consistently deliver with their bagels. My go to is the sausage, bacon, egg, and cheese on a French toast bagel. Oof now let me tell you that hits different on the Friday morning before a three day weekend. The bagel selection here is great. There's plenty of choices for all different types of flavor palettes. The cost does add up here, but that feel typical of all bagel places on Long Island nowadays. I haven't really had major problems with service here. The staff is pretty friendly. There's been a few mess up with my orders every once in a while but it's not the end of the world. The overall ambiance of the place is very relaxed. They do need a good cleaning but they've definitely improved over the years. If you're in the area please give this place a shot! So, this used to be the Bagel Palace in Hampton Bays and is now called The Bagel Place. It must be under new ownership and / or management because the quality of their food has gone way down along with the customer service. At first I didn't even realize that the place had a new sign and name change until I was questioning the change in quality. I first noticed this on Father's Day when I walked in and there were only a handful of bagels on the shelves at 10 AM.! Wait ... isn't this place called "The Bagel Place?" The line was backed up with angry customers and one customer yelled out loud, "The old owners would have never let this happen". Then I realized there had been a change. I felt bad for the employees that were getting verbal abuse from angry customers and couldn't understand why things were so backed up, especially on a "holiday" that they should have been more prepared for. I went back in for a second visit yesterday and the service was so slow! They were out of iced coffee (luckily I got the last cup). Instead of making more iced coffee, the two guys working there just lined up the empty cups and stared at the empty iced coffee machine for about 15 minutes. Were they drunk? Stoned? I'm not exactly sure. Then the guy handed us two large iced coffees when we ordered 1 iced coffee and 1 iced tea. I politely told him our order again and he just stared at me puzzled. I was like, am I speaking a different language? After a few blank stares, he asked to see my receipt. Now he didn't believe me??!!! Come on! After fixing our drink order (that was mostly a cup filled with ice because they were running low on everything), we waited for our bagel sandwich order. The cook was placing completed orders on the window and the completed orders were piling up (slowly) while the employees were busy taking new orders. It left a bunch of us staring at our completed orders not being picked up by the employees and bagged for the customers. We watched a bunch of people who came in after us receive all of their orders. How backwards! We were ticket number 299 and tickets 304-300 got their orders bagged before us. Then the same puzzled guy looked at me, and I told him we are order number 299 and that was probably our order still left on the window. Again, he asked to see our ticket. How frustrating. By the time we got our order, it was cold and skimpy. The bagels are thinner with less toppings and didn't taste as fresh. After looking around, we could see that the other customers were just as dissatisfied as us. I guess we are going to have to start looking for our new bagel place. BAGEL PALACE .. WHERE ARE YOU? Cream cheese selection is standard NY - lots of flavors (scallion/chive is always my fave). They could be a little more generous with the schmear here, but heck, I'm being picky. Their other breakfast and lunch items are pretty good, too. They make a whole host of sandwiches, omelettes and other goodies. Service is decent, not super friendly, but alright. There can be a bit of a wait if you pick the busy times - as one of the only bagel spots in HB, they get a lot of business, esp. in the summer, in the AM. People tend to flock here for hangover help. Prices are ok. All in all, a decent choice and definitely convenient if you're in HB, but there are definitely some more impressive options in nearby towns like Riverhead. read more

I came here with my husband and I ordered the pancake platter. 3 "large " pancakes and home fries and bacon with the choice of coffee or juice . The pancakes where so Tiny and dry the bacon was burnt and hard and the home fries tasted like they were warmed up in the microwave after being in the fridge . My husband ordered a sandwich which was $10 and wasn't good either he couldn't finish it and got a horrible stomach ache after. We spend $20 for nasty breakfast . I enjoy this place but they need to find people who work faster. No one answers the phone and they don't have a delivery service, which they may consider being they are I the Hamptons and most people will pay for delivery. I do wish the workers were friendly and perhaps local kids. It's a shame local businesses don't hire American hardworking kids. Most of us started out working at delis or restaurants. However every time I go there with friends to have lunch 12:00 they start mopping the floors with a dirty mop using a commercial cleaner that has an extremely caustic smell that is so offensive you can't even eat your lunch. They mop their bathroom and continue to use the same mop to clean the rest of the place. It's disgusting. I can't understand it, they close at 3:00, why would they start to mop at 12:00 when patrons are eating their lunch? So many friends have spoken to the owner about this and he said he would address it with his staff but they continue to do it.
