We've been coming here for many many years. We've known one of the hostesses for longer than I can remember. They have wonderful bagels -- made in house. And people come from all over to get them. Their deli sandwiches and daily soups are also top notch. My husband likes their salad platters, as well. They are only open for breakfast and lunch, so "in season" they are quite busy during these times. They also do a lot of take out from the deli counter -- including prepared meals, frozen soups, bakery items, etc. We usually stop to grab a couple bagels to bring home after we have eaten lunch. Once a Beloved Gem--Now Just Not the Same The Bagel Shack used to be the greatest breakfast spot around. Every trip I made to Pompano Beach from New York, I made sure to stop in--eating there each morning of my vacation. It was the kind of place everyone I know loved. The food, the energy, and most importantly, the people made it something special. A huge part of that experience was the amazing woman who always greeted and seated us-- Her name is Lee. She had a warmth and presence that made you feel like you were visiting family. Her absence is deeply felt. Without her, the atmosphere just isn't the same. I enjoyed all of the servers and the gentleman who bused the tables too. The vibe that once made the place feel alive and welcoming is gone. Sadly, I'm not alone in feeling this. my friends who I've spoken to agree--the charm and sense of community have changed. This place reminded me of great memories I shared with my grandma. She would have loved this place. I ordered the nova platter and a glass of water. The service was fast and my bagel was toasted to perfection. I grabbed a cream soda and a brownie to go and it was also delicious. Everyone who I interacted with was pleasant and polite. We came here for breakfast and ordered carryout when we got there. They have so many good options including a huge selection of made-fresh-daily bagels. They were super friendly as I told them it was our first time. They walked through some options and then just gave me time to decide. There was no pressure. We ended up with the eggs, sausage, grits, and bagel with cream cheese meal that was so reasonably priced. There was so much scrambled eggs. I actually couldn't even finish them. The sausage patties were nice and thin and the grits were a large portion either. This could easily feed two people. I also got the nova bagel and it was amazing! Ok, so I've been coming to Bagel Snack now for 3 months. I've got to admit, this is the best bagel place I have ever eaten at from New York to Florida! My traditional go to when trying a new bagel place is tuna fish salad on a scooped bagel (to better hold the tuna), not toasted because they're fresh, with lettuce, tomato, and red onion. I ask for a full sour pickle and health salad instead of cole slaw. I've now tried every bagel type and their bialy. After spending a weekend in NJ and going to 3 different places for bagels, none surpassed and only one equaled the quality, not just of the bagel itself, but the texture and flavor of the tuna salad! I absolutely love their Turkey Rueben (Barry's). The soups are fresh and i love taking them home. Last but not least, the service can't be beat. Everyone greets you with a smile. No matter how busy, the service never seems rushed and is always attentive, checking up on you and refilling your drink. All the servers are warm and friendly, as well as the help staff and deli countermen. I would not feed this food to anyone, everything was undercooked poor quality even the silverware would not cut a sausage patty. The place was so crowded I thought it was going to be delicious my eggs looked like they had been cracked on the plate my husband eggs Benedict was of poor quality as was everything else. We did a little staycation in Deerfield so when we did a Yelp search we found Bagel Snack. My husband had the baked salmon salad platter B. Honestly it's the perfect way to sell it. Not everyone wants all the things so you can pick what you want with your base and or waste food or money. He had it with a great poppy bagel which looked delicious and he enjoyed. I had a bialy and oatmeal combo. The oatmeal wasn't as "wet" as it could be and I don't use milk, I it was a little lumpy. I did appreciate it was made with water. The bialy was delicious and I also bought 6 more to bring home. The place was clean and the staff all had masks. The coffee was good. You pay at the front. My wife found this place on yelp. What a great place. It was super clean and well maintained, un like other bagel place. The service was very good, they made sure my wife's coffee was always full. My wife had oatmeal and a bialy, she didn't care for the oatmeal, it was a bit dry and needed to have more water in it. I like it the way it came out. The bialy was really good, we even got a half dozen to go. I got a baked salmon salad platter, option B, which was with lot of tomatoes, cucumbers, olives, lettuce, onion, a pickle and both potato salad & coleslaw, I could of done without the coleslaw. 3-6-22 10:30AM My friend Susan E. Invited me to breakfast here today told me yesterday it was a good deli near her. I didn't put my expectations too high as good deli in South Florida is far and very few in between. Plenty of free parking in the shopping center they are located in. Once inside the hostess was just seating someone so we would be next. Very pleasant lady I even joked I could help her move some of the people along. Everyone seemed happy and didn't want to leave. Our turn came up in minutes. The waiter quickly got our drinks as we looked over the menus. My friend doesn't like eggs so she got a Reuben and fries. I controlled myself and didn't eat her fries. My breakfast was big enough two eggs sunny side up, poppyseed bagel with butter and hash browns the waiter even asked if I wanted to add onions to them as if he could read mind. Let's just say I couldn't finish everything it was delicious. What made the breakfast even more special was the butter it was sweet and complimented the meal. I had hot tea with fresh lemon as well. It was served with a cup of hot water and a small pot I enjoyed every last drop up until we went to the register to pay. I eyed a black and white cookie on the way in and had to take one with me on the way out. This was truly the litmus test on going from a four to a five star rating.
