The sesame bagel had the unique texture that was soft on the inside and crisp on the outside. The small side of potato salad that came with it had nice chucks of red potato had a nice umami flavor. The service was friendly. I was there after 10:00am so most of the bagels were gone. I got a squid ink bagel with lox and cream cheese to go. Really good bagels. The sandwiches are ok - not bad but not great. The smoked salmon was good. Would not recommend the fried chicken one though - looked like a frozen Tyson patty in between the bagel. 1 Star - Disappointing and Unprofessional I had a very disappointing experience at this bagel shop. My food was prepared incorrectly, the egg was supposed to be sunny side up but it clearly looked raw with runny egg white and was cold it was not properly cooked. When I politely asked if it could be fixed, the staff flat-out said no.There was no apology, no attempt to make it right, and no concern for customer satisfaction. He just went on saying he had already use his product that if I wanted to have it  over medium I  would have to pay again for the dish. In this case, the response was dismissive and  unprofessional.  I won't be returning, and I definitely wouldn't recommend this place to anyone who expects basic courtesy or accountability when something goes wrong. read more

What a strange experience. Decent bagel, weird business. I grew up in the NYC area and have been looking for a place to get my bagels and leave a half dozen in the freezer for home. When I walk in, it feels like an airport shop, and yet it's $6.50 for a bagel with cream cheese ($4 for cream cheese? Sure, it's LA and 2025, but weird for the vibe). For a casual, average place, egg sandwich options are pricey at $13 and only options are sausage or ham; no bacon? Lastly, they toasted a bagel with cream cheese by default without asking. A good bagel needs no toasting, but I get that's the thing in California. Would have liked being asked. Then they swapped the wrong bagels for me and my wife's order. The bagel itself was fairly redeeming, 3.5/5, though not classic. It was very light, with a thin shell. I actually liked it, even though it was not my go-to chewy, shelled bagel. Not 3x better than a grocery store bakery aisle bagel though. Overall strange experience. I won't crave coming back or eat in-person again, but maybe I'd come back for a few for the freezer. read more

I visited the shop yesterday around 11AM and they only had four bagels left. I had the opportunity to chat with the owner today. We chatted it up about how he came to making bagels. What I learned is that this is a father-son passion project. During travels to China and New York, they learned new ways to make bagels, they experimented, and eventually landed on their unique way of making bagels. They integrate cabbage water into the dough making process, which contributes to the softness and chewy texture of the final product. I don't fully understand the specifics of this, but sounds cool! On a Saturday morning in September, my sister and I noticed a new bagel shop opened in the Vons shopping center. The shop is small with a few tables inside. The lady behind the counter seems nice. The display of several flavors bagels displayed in the glass case and several pastries in another counter case. We ordered at computer monitor while waiting. I have been here in the past and enjoyed the bagel sandwiches. I stopped here yesterday before work and to order a bagel sandwich I was on a bit of a time constraint and the lady was very kind to inform me my sandwich would take some time. I asked how long she went to speak with the cook and he proceeded to say he couldn't say because he was already cooking two sandwiches prior. She came out and told me about 20 min I kindly asked if I could cancel my order and just get a plain bagel, apologized and stated I would use order ahead next time. She went back to inform the cook and I could clearly hear this man complaining stating how he already started (when he could not give a time prior) proceeded to say how they are not McDonald's, I could clearly hear everything! So excited that they opened a bageloo at this location! They have been open for six months and I just learned about it?! I've been hooked on the diamond bar location and now I can get my fix without the long drive! The bagels here and soft and fluffy yet crunchy on the outside it's like a lighter less dense version of a great bagel! This location is much smaller and I imagine they are paying more for a smaller place but also the display isn't as grandiose as the diamond bar location. Another plus here they are open on Sunday!! There was very limited staffing. I would give five stars but some improvements could help. They only had a small trash can that was super full yet the cashier didn't empty it instead pressed down a little? Kinda gross without washing your hands immediately afterwards. The cashier was nice we arrived around 12 on a Saturday where they still had more working hours but the bagel case was pretty bare and the sign said look at the case to order bagels :/ kinda sad. The tables were dirty and although no trash was on there it was just grimmy- we had to ask for paper towels and a spray to clean and no one even offered to clean it- we didn't have anyone waiting after us. For example, they only had plain cream cheese (later, they'll have flavored cream cheese) and no espresso drinks or pour over. They're still waiting for the espresso machine to arrive. But they did have plenty of bagels, bagel sandwiches, baked goods, and pastries (e.g., muffins, croissants, scones, cookies). This is the second Bageloo location. The first is in Diamond Bar. I was told that Bageloo originated from South Korea, that they roast their coffee beans, and that the bagels are not boiled but take three days to make. The bagels are vegan, unless it's a bagel with cheese (they don't use vegan cheese). The owner is a certified coffee barista who really cares about coffee. A plain bagel is $2.10. Premium bagels are $2.65 each. They had the usual kinds: sesame, everything, garlic, blueberry, poppyseed, plain, etc. Bagel with sausage, egg, and cheese ($10.95): You can choose the bagel and how you'd like your eggs. The sandwich comes with two eggs, a sausage patty, cheese, mayo & ketchup. I chose a bagel with spinach. I think? There was barely any spinach. The bagel sandwich was good. The bagel wasn't as dense as usual but still chewy. It had a lighter, crispier crust. The sausage was a bit salty but it was balanced out by the egg and cheese. The scrambled eggs were tender and I think they folded the cheddar cheese into the egg. Wasn't crazy about the ketchup but it was a nice sandwich. I ordered on the phone to have my bagel be ready for pick up and on the phone call they were confused as if they didn't know their own menu. Once I got there it was just as bad. The phone order I put in to be picked up at a certain time half an hour before was not ready and had me waiting. Not only that again, The workers were so confused. They both seemed new didn't know what milk bread was, didn't know what size drinks they offered, and overall were not fit to be running the shop alone. Had another delicious breakfast just now at Bageloo. Had my favorite lox bagel. We came early around 8ish and it got busy right after we got our order and began to eat so we beat the busy crowd. This place is getting more and more popular and for good reason. The food is always good quality and fresh and the service is always 100 percent. They cut my bagel into bite size quarters and always cater to my custom specifications. They never give me any attitude about my unique requests to have my lox bagel customized and they always get it right. I really appreciate this because a lot of other places get a little funky when you ask them to customize things and other places often have trouble getting the order right and you have to keep asking them to correct it and it just becomes a hassle. Not so with Bageloo. I am particular with food and service and sometimes I can be hard to please. So the fact that Bageloo gets 100 out of 100 with me is exceptional. This Saturday morning I was running errands when I decided to give Bageloo a try. I walked in about 10:30 am. Looking at the bagels in their case I could see that they had mostly plain bagels. I ordered 3 to go. The employe that took my order asked if I would like them sliced and I told her that I did. When I got home I took a bite. Their bagels are soft and the inside has a nice airiness. The dough had a nice subtle sweetness. The outside of the bagel was also soft to the touch. Some places the outside can be a little hard and a little crunchy but not Bageloo bagels.
