A friend recommended I grab a bagel and coffee from here before hitting the road back to NJ because they know just how much I love good bagels and good coffee .... and the friend was very confident that I would enjoy both stating that they use NY/NJ water to make the bagels (which is key to a great bagel bc it's just something in our water that gives the bagels the perfect amount of pull and "bite") ... I trusted this friend so I made it my business to pop in for a bagel and iced coffee and it was at that point that my skepticism kicked in lol ... bc the bagels did not look like NJ/NY bagels . The place itself has a nice setup for ordering and a wide variety of bagels and even had signage for bialys which is also a favorite of mine however they were either sold out of them or didn't have any prepared when I was there. I ordered my go to ... a toasted everything bagel with veggie cream cheese and an iced coffee ... and I patiently waited. The iced coffee setup was really cool where you prepare your own and they have all the sweeteners and dairy options you can think of ... and the iced coffee itself was GOOD! My bagel was finally ready and an employee brought it over to my table .... first impressions from looks ... this bagel is going to be dry and there's barely any cream cheese on it .... but I took a bite ... SURPRISE! The bagel was actually perfect ... nice amount of chew with the perfect "bite" in the outer crust and while I would've preferred more cream cheese it was really delicious cream cheese so it made up for the amount in the bagel. I texted my friend saying the bagel and coffee were both amazing and I will be sure to visit this place anytime I am in the area again and need breakfast!
Continuing northeast to 3 zip codes from home to Hanover 21076, I arrive at Bagels 'n Grinds. I had been here on a few occasions including before living in Anne Arundel County when I was commuting up this way from VA. Breakfast sandwiches are good, nothing to write home about. Their bagels are solid though. When my parents visited in 2021, my dad complained about the prices. He's a bit more sensitive to high prices or changes in price than I am. But he is right, the prices are higher than some comparable places. Overall, this is very good breakfast or lunch option. I remember the turkey sandwich with avocado was very good too, the time my parents visited in April 2021. Staff is cordial too.
Red velvet cookie was soft and flavorful. Also had a good surface area/depth. Blueberry scone was a little stiff to my touch. The inside matched: it wasn't soft or rich, however, the flavor was there, Quick and nice service. A lot of seating, it was busy but still had a place to sit. Parking available in garage. Self service coffee did its job.
First time here after dropping the boys off for their vet appt. Needed some good breakfast, and this place did not disappoint. Nice and cool inside on a hot summer morning. Walked by the dough being made for their bagels when you first entered. Super polite front of house workers. We ordered an eggstremely meaty on everything with cream cheese. So good! I arrived mid-morning for a quick to-go breakfast. It was pretty crowded with almost every table occupied. It appeared to be about 10-12 tables and a small sectioned off conference area in the back. The conference area was the only unoccupied seating at the time. The line was pretty long, but ran efficiently, so the wait to order was not very long. Prior to visiting, I reviewed the online menu, so I already had a basic idea about what to order. Once I determined that I could deviate from the items on the menu, I created my own bagel sandwich. The staff member who took my order was cordial and helpful. They had a decent array of bagels, so much so that I went with a selection that I typically would not choose. But again, it was a hard decision because they all looked so fresh and appealing. I ordered an egg white on a sun-dried tomato bagel with a light amount of butter. I also ordered an iced coffee, which was actually self-serve. The beverage station was clean and featured all of the items needed to make a good iced coffee. Since it was so crowded and people were steadily coming in, it was a short wait for the food to be ready, but it was not too bad. The bagel was very good. The sun-dried tomato added the mild tart taste that I really enjoy about sun-dried tomato. The bagel was the right texture on the inside and outside. The egg white was fluffy and cooked just how I like it. I also appreciated that they cut the sandwich into two halves and did not leave it whole. I made the iced coffee, so it was just right. I'll have to return at another time to try one of the other bagel flavors.
I recently got the garden breakfast sandwich with the jalapeno cheddar bagel. I really like this one. They do a good job with the garden breakfast sandwich. I have ordered their blueberry bagel with blueberry cream cheese as well. I have tried their hashbrown too its good but not anything spectacular. Pretty standard service. The bagels are good they have tons of options and have a good selection for cream cheese as well. There is a decent menu for their coffee choices they can do speciality coffees along with drip with different types of drip coffee to choose from. Their bagels are better than average but not the best I've had. Still worth checking out if you are in the area.
Stopped in after early interview. Ordered an onion bagel and hash brown with large coffee. Also got the lox spread on the bagel. First the coffee was lukewarm and I asked them to put it in the microwave. The cost was $13.21 so kinda high. I asked them to toast the bagel and it was crispy but not really warm. The hash brown was barely average. The servers were pleasant so can't blame them. I would rate them 2.5 stars but have to indicate 3.

Wish I heard of this spot sooner! I was craving a bagel sandwich that Dunkin or Einstein Bagels could not fulfill.. so to google I went and found this place not too far. They were out of a few bagels (May have been making more), also no hash browns but the guy said it could take 4 mins. I got the jalapeño cheddar bagel (not too spicy at all) with egg, cheddar, Turkey bacon and avocado. It was so good, bacon was crisp just how I like it and the bagel is so soft and fresh! This is my go to spot now for when I want to splurge a little. Employees were friendly as well. read more

I have to admit, I am not a huge bagel fan. If bagels are the only items being served on a breakfast bar, I would turn it down. So why would I entertain eating at a place like this?! Lol!! After walking in this cute little bagel joint, I was impressed. Before getting to the ordering counter, you can see the water treatment process. On this day, there was a guy in there making dough for the bagels. I love it!! (I'm one of those people that like to watch 'How It's Made'.) Walking up to the bagel display case should also impress you. There are a bunch of different bagels to delight your palate. We chose take out. I ordered the Garden State breakfast sandwich on a French toast bagel with a small hot chocolate made with almond milk. My bf ordered a whole wheat bagel with eggs, lettuce, tomato, onions and avocado. When I tell you that hot chocolate was on point. I finished it before we got home. So yummy!! My bagel sandwich was all of that too. When I unwrapped it, it reminded me of a mini king cake. The cinnamon glistened and it smelled so good. It tasted even better. I loved the crispiness of the bagel's exterior with the soft, doughy inside. I tasted my bf's bagel sandwich. His was good but not as good as mine. I just love sweet bread! Overall, check out this place. If you love bagels, then surely you'll find your bagel match here. There are so many varieties to choose from. read more

Absolutely legit! I've never been here or to a bagels 'n Grinds before but it was great! I got a coffee, breakfast sandwich, and a scone. The sandwich was great and they got it out to me quickly. The coffee was really good and there's a heck of a selection. I was skeptical of their blueberry scone at first because I assumed they popped it out of a box in the back & just wrapped it in cling wrap, but it was good! A crusty exterior and chewy center with the smaller, wild blueberries spread through. If you're in the need of a breakfast sandwich and coffee: this is your next stop! read more

Pretty good if you are a bagel fan. My favorite is their jalapeño spread. I don't like bagel, but if I'm hungry, I don't mind taking one. Location is okay for me, but I'll be people who live in the adjacent hotel. read more

I was impressed! When I first walked in it reminded me of a gourmet Einstein bagels, but I was happy to see bagels being freshly made. The staff was very nice. I told them one of the coffee machines was out and without missing a beat the worker went over and started to make coffee. Clean place too for the most part. I got the eeggstremely healthy bagel which was very good! I wish there was a little more sauce but other than that very good. My friend got the eggstremely meat bagel and she enjoyed it. We also got an iced coffee which I felt was a little too water, I would've liked a darker roast or different roast options as there is only 1 iced coffee machine. My friend got a mango smoothie and enjoyed it. Overall, enjoyed this place and would come back! read more

This was a great find after our weekend trip to Maryland Live! It is located at the bottom of a nice apartment building and there are some parking spots behind the building. Sadly we arrived too late and some of the bagel flavors had run out so try to come early if you have your heart set on a popular flavor! My husband and I both ordered the breakfast sandwich on Egg Bagels and thoroughly enjoyed it. I loved how they scrambled our meat with the egg and the cheese melted so perfectly on top of it. The bagel was fresh and delicious though I wish it had a bit more dough as I prefer New York style over the flatter bagels. They had all different flavors of cream cheese and different lunch sandwiches on the menu too! They had about 10 different types of coffee canisters that you can help yourself too and our favorite was the swiss almond. They also had a really cool sugar and creamer dispenser that shoots out the proper amount based on what you type into the screen. We will definitely be back the next time we are in the area! read more

Gluten free sadness. As a whole, this was a good sandwich. But not entirely sure why my husband and I got the same sandwich, but my gluten free was so small. It wasn't just the bagel that was tiny, my inside portions were also thin. read more

They're very proud of their "New York" filtering system with signs that the water for the bagels and the coffee should make it taste just like the stuff in NYC. I don't know if it does or not, but the bagel was excellent and the coffee was excellent. I oped for the "Brooklyn" on a pumpernickel bagel. A good portion of cream cheese topped with plenty of salmon, tomato slices and thick cucumber slices. (I had them hold the onion.) Plenty for a great breakfast here. All the coffee fixings from different types of milk to cold creamers, different sugars and all of that. Easy parking out front is limited but there is a very large parking garage in the back. read more

My husband and I stopped in here for breakfast. I ordered the Brooklyn which was lox, cream cheese, tomatoes and cucumbers. I had them put it on the sea salt bagel and would highly recommend. Everything about the bagel sandwich was great. The pumpkin coffee was delicious. I liked I could top off my coffee when I left after enjoying my meal. I also had the option to add splenda, sugar ,milk, etc from a cool little programmable machine. I enjoyed splitting the smore cookie with my husband. It was huge and homemade. read more

We stopped during a road trip and were pleasantly surprised! The big oversized couches and chairs--even a semi-private meeting room made this a really cozy and easy place to be. I could see studying here or having a quick business coffee. My actual bagel was good, too, which is surprising given how tough it's been to find good bagels in the DMV. My friend is lactose intolerant and requested no cheese--a request which, at most other bagel joints, is usually ignored--and had zero issues. I had a bagel with egg, cheese, and bacon, and they scrambled everything up before putting it on my bagel instead of separate layers. I really liked it! Each bite was equally flavorful and mixed instead of one bite being pure egg, another being mostly bagel or cheese, etc. read more

I was in town for work and managed to visit twice. I wish this bagel place was near my home. Actually, it's probably better this way...I'd go broke buying bagels and probably die from a carb overdose. Absolutely perfect bagels. Chewy outside, soft inside. Very good bagels and pretty good coffee but the auto sweetener dispensers can be temperamental. I do think some upgrades to the coffee experience would raise it up to 5 stars but very solid place overall. Love their healthy breakfast options and the power bagel with blueberry cream cheese is a tasty combination. read more

Yummy! I'm always in search for a good New York style bagel place and I've finally found a good one in the Baltimore area! They even have a window to watch the bagels being made!!! How awesome is that! Unfortunately I got there around mid day and missed the morning bagels being made, but did see someone there when I was leaving. The staff and service is really good and the prices are fair (especially since the bagels are so fresh). The eating area is very clean and tidy. There are also televisions to watch local sports or news while you eat. If you eat in, immediately after you walk in there is a cash register and a Friendly cashier takes your order and gives you a number. Then you sit and hang out until they bring you your food. The food is all really tasty and the coffee decent. The specialty coffee and tea drinks were a little pricey though, in my opinion and that's why I gave this place 4 stars instead of 5. read more

maybe they had a bad morning based on other reviews but arriving on a sunday morning at 8:15am they had no everything bagels, no plain,garlic,egg and the bagels that they did have were thin and underdone. i was in a rush traveling through on my way to nj otherwise i would have simply walked out without ordering. while eating in the car my third bite of my sandwich i had to spit out, salt was poured on so heavily it was DISGUSTING. My husbands sesame and butter bagel was raw in the middle also met the trash. i really hate to bash restaurants but thus was horrible Update: the owner reached out to me with both an apology and an explanation of what went wrong this morning. Without getting into details, it sounds like they really were trying hard to overcome a difficult situation. We look forward to trying them again when in the neighborhood. I've only been to this place once. Today! I started to order a sandwhich but the cashier as I hoped was not very social able or helpful. Never been to bagel grind and I asked for a sandwhich she said what bagel I was like I get to pick? And then I said thats too much and she gave me that "umm it's just picking a bagel look". I went with blueberry and cream cheese. Took 10 minutes to get it and it's toasted so hard...ugh the bagel itself it's not very good. The burnt end take over the whole thing. On top it has no sweet blueberry flavor. I love bagels but sorry this is not one of those. The service plus the main item they sell not worth coming again any time soon. SMILE! read more
